Dao Palate Brooklyn Reviews
Really lovely place with amazing vegan food. The server was knowledgeable and helpful with our allergies. Will be back!
I was skeptical at first to know what protein was in the pad see ew and I was pleasantly surprised! Usually there isn't enough sauce but it was plenty and tasty! I took the mushrooms out the Miso Mushroom Soup as I don't care for them. The Thai Iced Tea with soy is good, not sweet though. Overall 5 stars and nothing spilled with scooter driver so well packaged, thank you!
Amazing vegan spot so close to Barclays stadium and Brooklyn Museum/Prospect Park. The menu is entirely vegan and has delicious classics like the vegan sweet and sour chicken, drunken noodles, and miso soup. The miso soup really hit the spot with this colder weather Place felt super low key and you could easily miss it walking by. Pretty spacious and open dining area. We were the only people there! Would love to come back and try some more selections 🤘🏽
I’ve ordered delivery from here many many times over the years, but just had lunch in the restaurant this past week. The food is consistently delicious and filling. They even have lunch specials, which is a great way to try a few things. A few of my favorite go-tos: - Black pepper seitan w/ Chinese broccoli - Basil protein with veggies - Singapore noodles - Pad kee mao Enjoy and support this small business with care 🫶🏾
I can’t wait to return to Dao Palate! I came here with a large group of about 15 people and was initially disappointed when my meal came out a 5-10 min after everyone else’s—especially since some folks ordered more than 15 minutes after me. But once the Jade Mushroom dish came out it all made sense! The mushrooms are nicely fried and are in spirals that almost resemble shrimp, and it is coated in a very delicious sweet/spicy sauce. Everyone was in awe at how nicely my dish had been plated! I highly recommend the jade mushrooms—especially if you are a vegetarian who prefers veggie dishes over fake meats!
A delicious twist to Pan Asian dishes, this place has it all… a fabulous night out to enjoy a vegan meal couldn’t have been anymore perfect with Dao Palate. No liquor here, but they have everything else to have you walking out of there full and satisfied. They just re-opened after being closed for almost 2 years due to covid for in-door dining… a gem that must be tasted to be appreciated
Would be cool to see Dao Palate go full vegan someday (they offer dairy for coffee), but all the food is vegan! Cheap lunch special price for the size and delicious food. Will definitely be returning to try more. Would be cool if they could serve the miso soup in something other than a Styrofoam bowl, and could maybe tone down the saltiness, I always pass on it. Lately I've been getting the dinner size for the higher price because they give much more food, and you can choose just brown rice and salad on the side. They don't usually respect requests over the phone to forego the pastic bag, napkin or utensils unfortunately, would be nice if they asked you if you want them each time. I've tried, the scallion pancake starter (delicious), and for lunch specials: green tea cold noodle (tasty but could have had some more ingredients than a single grape tomato), Mai Fun Noodle w/ fish cake, Red Curry Seitan, Malaysian Curry stew (excellent), and Eggplant & String beans (surprisingly incredible sauce).
A gem of Vegan Asian cuisine! This eatery has a great combination of unique and classic dishes on their expansive menu. Various plant based appetizers, entrees, soups, and even desserts to quench your vegan appetite! Every dish I've tried was delicious. I recommend the vegan chocolate cake with your order. It was perfectly moist. The cost is on the higher end of vegan asian cuisine, however it is likely you will be highly satisfied with the items of your choice. Also... customer service perhaps needs improvement, however again, it may be all worth it - in your experience. It's located in a great, trendy neighborhood - though parking is quite limited. There are plenty of public transportation options nearby. They also accept 'call ahead' to place orders for pickup or delivery nearby. Overall, highly recommended.
I had a great experience here, the service was quick, the food was well thought out and delicious. I got a pumpkin soup, salad and the green curry with brown rice. Side note, they were more than willing to sub broccoli instead of green beans all for the great price of $21 ! I even had left over curry and rice.
Delivery via DoorDash was super quick and food arrived boiling hot. We liked most of our food, and their pad see ew is a solid option for vegetarian Asian cousin nearby. We didn’t like the curry and most of the rest of the food. We will order again the pad see ew however.
Writing this review to tell all of YOU to order BBQ Vegan Ribs! The smokey sear is unreal The rest to me are okay.
The passion fruit lemonade was banging, everything else I would rather just not consume. The thai coffee was decent but not good. The papaya salad was okay but seriously lacked flavor but at least was edible. The crispy vegetable tofu skin was also okay but had a kind of funky flavor that wasn’t very good (I am a chef and happily eat lots of different cuisine so it wasn’t a palate thing). The mango soy protein dish was not very good at all, basically just some ever so slightly cooked veggies that were kinda soggy in mango and the soy protein was just plain weird, like hard. The red curry actually had flavor and would have been a good if the heat was just toned down (I usually handle heat very well for a white guy) it was simply too hot for most palates I think. Hey maybe some people like this place but I just do not understand why this place has a many stars as it does so I needed to leave a review to bring some reality to their ranking. Hate to bash a local business but please just improve guys.
