Flower Power Cafe Brooklyn Reviews
Wonderful establishment, great interior design, and great service. I was also helped by two outstanding women who also knew their stuff and we ruminated on various holistic topics. I ended up getting a ton of herbs and left with a 10/10 experience! For the people who go for the first time; all of the herbs are in alphabetical order so If you know what you are looking for it will make your findings easier.
I always wanted to visit a herbal shop and this is such a whimsical apothecary space. Wide variety of herbs, tinctures and holistic remedies. Employees are kind and friendly. I’m very shy so I appreciate that they’re just patient and willing to answer questions about anything. They offer testers which is great for people who are picky with smells, specifically essential oils or soaps.
I never write reviews for places BUT this magical place with even more magical employees deserves a 10 star review! Biggest shoutout to the entire team, especially Noah! I swear these people are witches and wizards! I was sick and my immune system was so down for so long and all my lab work was coming back negative so I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me. Then, while looking for organic oregano to make tea with, I came across this store. They went above and beyond to help me and suggest their favorite items that they use! I walked out with oregano I wanted and elderberry syrup that SAVED MY LIFE! What an amazing group, what an amazing store, what an amazing selection of products! It’s been around two weeks since my first visit and I’m a brand new man who’s walking out of their store with the biggest smile on my face for the second time now with a new bag to make tea with (another brilliant suggestion I received) and another bottle of elderberry syrup and most importantly with a whole lot of positive energy! My Mum is also so thankful to these people because they helped me recover my immune system because as an international student I’m so far away from home! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

LOVE flower power, a neighborhood gem and the best place to get started & learn all about herbal healing. The selection is top tier and the staff are very, very kind, welcoming and knowledgeable!
Went into the store today after having browsed by their Essex market stand. I will admit I was a bit shy but that quickly changed once I felt the energy in the shop. The staff were so friendly and helpful. I loved the option of herbs lined up on the wall. It was a great experience overall. I went in with something particular in mind and left with a whole lot more. I ain’t mad about that either :) keep up the amazingness flower power!
I had a great experience in this store. The ladies were so welcoming and understanding of my needs. Although I am a newbie with it all, they were very accommodating. I bought some herbs and tinctures that I cannot wait to incorporate in my lifestyle.
I have visited this store twice. The first time before Covid restrictions and the second today (8/29/2020). I LOVE this store. It’s more than just a store, it’s a GEM. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. The variety of herbs and oils is superior to any other specialty stores I have found in the city. This place is a definite go-to if you want quality products from CBD oils to incense to teas and MUCH more. I will always highly recommend.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Flower Power is such a special apothecary. I genuinely love what they carry — you can easily walk out with more than you came for because everything feels intentional and magical. I believe in what they’re selling, and every time I’ve gone in, I’ve ultimately gotten exactly what I needed. On this recent visit, I stopped in for ingredients for a skin oil I’m formulating for myself. It was a bit of a spontaneous trip, so I didn’t have a concrete list, and a young man who worked there was incredibly welcoming and helpful in getting me started — I really appreciated that. Some interactions during the visit felt a little off or unwelcoming, even though nothing was directly rude. I may have misread a moment, and I completely understand that retail environments can be busy and draining. Still, the overall energy at times felt a bit guarded or judgmental, which surprised me because I admire the expertise in the space and was genuinely excited and curious while asking questions. That said, I was helped, I found what I needed, and I’ll continue to support the shop because I truly value what they offer. I just hope that curiosity — especially from those of us still learning — can always feel warmly received in such a beautiful, knowledge-rich environment. This place deserves attention and support.
Fabulous store to get teas etc the assortment selection is enormous with staff who are very knowledgeable of Gunpowder tea items. I purchased some pea butterfly tea, chamomile tea, and Gunpowder tea which are fantastic. This is must herbal establishment to visit
Amazing hidden magic store! I went to buy rose essential oil and was fascinated what a great price and stuff they had. Just go there!
I wish I lived closer because I would spend all day here. For it's small, cozy space, Flower Power packs in the wisdom and vibes. I bought high quality herbs and ingredients there, yes, but the real gem are the ladies who work there. They are so knowledgeable and committed to taking care of their customers. 10/10, I will definitely be a returning customer!
If you know what youre looking for or if ypu know what you need they'll be able to help, they were very friendly and kind and also very knowledgeable honestly this is a shop I can see myself stopping by often if im in need of some herbal medicine

Great Energy! This store is encyclopedic but not intimidating. The staff is SO friendly & great vibes (so rare unfortunately) but equally able to let you browse as well as answer all of your questions. (I had many, they fielded them like pros!) I left with two bags of herbs that have been hard for me to find elsewhere (supplements to my nightly teas!) & two vials of essential oils. More importantly, I left a fan of the store, the staff, & the wide array of offerings there! (I’m coming back for a class at the end of the month!) Flower Power, you got me steeping in your RADNESS & I already want a second cup.
Amazing little store, with an incredible range of goods and extremely kind and patient staff. I have always found whatever I've needed and have had any questions either answered or researched on together. Super cute and well organized, great for beginners as well as the more experienced. Great prices for the dried flowers and herbs, other materials are much more expensive however
I love this store. Really kind and well-informed staff, great selection, and very reasonable prices. The physical space is calming. Lovely energy. I always leave smiling. They also host a variety of great classes every month which I highly recommend!
I always enjoy taking a trip to Flower Power Herbs and Roots as they always have an herb I’m looking for. My experiences shopping here have always been nice however my last experience was different. It was my first time taking my boyfriend there. When we walked inside we greeted everywhere but was not greeted back. After browsing around we were told if we needed any help to let them know. Once we decided what we wanted we told one of the staff that there were several herbs we would like, and the response was that we could assist ourselves and use the ladder to grab what we needed. I didn’t appreciate this as it made my boyfriend feel unsafe to use a wobbly ladder and respectfully he doesn’t work there so that’s not his job. Again I’ve been to the shop several times and never experienced using the ladder to grab my own herbs, or just grab my own herbs at all. There was a customer in there prior to us coming in that seemed like a regular and was already engaged in conversation, so I feel as if the focus was on the conversation. I will still continue to shop here, however I will let it be very clear that moving forward myself, boyfriend or any customer for that matter should be climbing the ladder to assist themselves. We do not work there and that is very unsafe.
Very first time walking into an Herbal place & I loved it. It was a great experience and I found just about all the herbs I was looking for plus additional. An issue I did run into though was as I walked in I wasn't greeted to feel the welcome into the establishment. I presented my energy by greeting everyone there an then I received the responses. The four Stars is based solely on the overall experience that I had at the Shop. Customer Service isn't extended to everyone that walks into the Shop such as myself nor my Queen whom I walked in with. That's a problem that has to be fixed. Overall, Great store🙏🏾

I visited about a month ago and was only greeted and acknowledged by the gentleman working there. The woman working at the time didn’t greet me. She barely interacted with me. It was my first time buying dry herbs, so I was very excited. If it weren’t for the gentleman, I probably would never go back. Vast selection of herbs, tinctures, and oils which was good.

Overdue, this was on a day they were offering free gifts with purchase but I think begs mentioning. I have benefit of the doubt and I was considering returning but I see some other reviews had similar experiences so I’m at least glad, but disappointed I wasn’t alone. A Coworker recommended I come here, I was so excited but disappointed as the customer service lacked. I was inquiring about some herbs, and when I was asking questions about a couple things, on top of an item they offered, (it was like a tincture type thing that was clear, forgot what it’s called.) and when I asked its benefits, the person I spoke to had absolutely no idea what they were talking about 😭 they just kept saying random things that made no sense (like “it’s good to take if you’re experiencing injustice” ???) and just showed that instead of asking one of their colleagues they just kept repeating the same thing over and over. The people working there seemed more concerned with their private conversations than truly helping it felt very dismissive and unwelcoming. The customer service overall was very lack and I’ll be honest considering another brown person such as myself complained about similar lack of customer service issues, idk if it’s a microaggressive thing or what, but either way if I’ve learned one thing in my life is that, just go where you feel welcome and that makes you feel good. On top of this (and maybe it’s on me) but it wasn’t clear to me there was a card minimum and I had only gotten a few things, so I had to leave and go 3 blocks to the bank because I was .. maybe $1-2 short of the card minumim. Cmon yall, even your local bodega guy will not hound you for nickels and dimes. Plenty of other herb shops in NYC , I’m just disappointed since this was a referral.
I stumbled upon this store while on a stroll and when I walked in, the staff just scanned me up and down--no greeting, no acknowledgment. She was standing right there in front of me, behind the counter. The other two staff members were busy helping customers which I understand, but she wasn’t. I stood around for a couple of minutes, feeling unwelcome, awkward, and lost, so I eventually decided to leave rather than waste my time or money here. I overheard her speaking and she had a really high-pitched voice.

I’ve gone to Flower Power a handful of times over the years to purchase herbs. The times I’ve gone were typically good and I received decent service, but this last time was weird and poor in costumer service. Yesterday on Sunday, April 13th I walked into Flower Power around 3-ish PM to purchase mullein, mugwort, and Devil’s Shoestring. Upon entering the store (which was empty), I wasn’t greeted by the staff. Now, I’m usually chill about this but there were three employees behind the counter just chatting, and nobody acknowledged me at all. They just continued talking. After assessing if they had what I needed, I proceeded to head to the cashier to ask if I could I have an oz of mullein and an oz of mugwort. She (femme presenting) then told me “Sure, do you want help getting it? I mean we can help, but the latter is perfectly stable once you step on it.” It’s been a minute since I’ve been to Flower Power, so, I didn’t remember the process, but I was fine getting the herb; however, in hindsight… there were THREE employees there just talking to each other. You mean to tell me no one wanted to help me, maybe pick my brain to see if I was interested in anything else? So I say, “Yeah, I can go get it. It’s no problem.” Then turn to the other cashier before going to get the jars and say “Oh, do you have Devil’s Shoestring?” I noticed they had Devil’s Club, but not Devil’s Shoestring. I didn’t know if it went by other names, but I was hoping she (femme presenting) might know more or have some insight. Clearly one employee didn’t feel like working so I hoped the next would. Instead of answering me directly, she looks at the cashier I was just talking with and says “Ohhhh a customer came in the other day asking about Devil’s Shoestring. She asked if Devil’s Club was the same, but I told her to research it first.” Then she turns to me and says, “When you look up Devil’s shoestring on Google it *looks* the same as Devil’s Club. But maybe search it up some more to be sure.” So you mean to tell me that another customer came in asking about a product that you don’t know about and since that interaction you didn’t brush up on your herbal knowledge so that the next time this happens you can point the next customer in the right direction? Maybe even notify the boss that customers are coming in requesting this item… you might wanna carry it. So I hesitantly was like “Sure, I’ll look it up.” Then, went to search it up and get both the mullein and the mugwort. Mind you, I don’t climb latters, let alone climb down latters with a large jar in one hand. I’m from NYC. Call me dramatic, but I should’ve received a HEFTY discount for doing YOUR JOB. So, as she’s ringing me up she’s talking about herbs that can be used in certain reproductive situations… and hey, I’m pro-choice, but time and place, no? When she’s done, I say “and no, they’re not the same herbs.” A search that took all of 3 minutes. To which she kinda blew over like “oh, ok.” To be frank, that was enough of an experience for me to say I’m good off Flower Power. There are so many good intentions behind the mission of the business, but I cannot ignore bad vibes and I did NOT feel a welcoming and inviting vibe during the visit. Either the space needs cleansing or the staff do. Either way, you won’t be getting my business anymore.
Worker or owner judged me off my looks outside my own apartment complex. Hovering over me as I smoked a cig downstairs. Just a reminder that some people are going through something and not to judge a book by its cover.
Went into your establishment to inquire about Frankincense roll on oil first I was shocked you were all sold out but I interrupted the young ladies conversation where I felt as a customer was being ignored.Me being well trained in customer service especially the hospitality industry you should try a bit harder to accommodate request of your customers without them walking out not spending money
