Star on Park Pizza has been one of our go-to spots for over ten years, and it consistently delivers. The crust recipe is excellent—just the right texture and flavor—and the portions are perfectly sized. All dishes I’ve tried are solid, and the meatballs and salads make great appetizers to start the meal. The staff is fast, attentive, and keeps things moving smoothly, whether you’re dining in or grabbing takeout. It’s a dependable favorite that we’re always happy to return to. Dining inside is fun for kids because of the giant bank vault doors and the beautiful chandeliers.

Delicious pizza with crust made to perfection! Beautiful decorum, prompt and friendly service (thanks Lewis for taking such good care of us!) This was our first time here, but I'm sure we'll be back again!👌

I screwed up my pick up order today and Bri went way above and beyond to help me to get my order corrected so efficiently that I was not even late for my guests. The deep dish pizza was DELICIOUS as usual!! The service and atmosphere is fantastic! So happy to have this wonderful restaurant on Park Street. Highly recommended!!

Had the Classic Detroit style pizza and it was bomb! A former bank converted to a restaurant so you see the old bank vaults inside which is cool. And service was good! 50% off all beers on Mondays was a pleasant surprise

Great place in Alameda. We were skeptical when they said Chicago style pizza, and didn't hold out much hope. Well folks, don't sleep on this place! The Detroit style breads sticks were so tasty, and the personal thin crust was delish! The sauce was as if Lou Malnati's and Rosati's had a collab, just so good. The cornmeal crust was crispy but not overcooked, light but substantial. Definitely on our list of places to visit again.

This place was so good, I had to write a review of it. First off, the atmosphere was peak pristine. The location used to be a bank so walking in there was already a high class feel, but the money you pay for that is low. Amazing! The service is friendly and the wait staff treat you like long time friends. They are family friendly, and they vibe with anyone walking in. Now the food is where it's at. They make pizza, and pizza is a dish you can eat another two different ways after the initial bake and dine in experience, which I must say, was superb. The first additional way to eat your pizza is microwaving it back at home. Guess what! It comes back out in less than 1 min 30 sec just as delicious as when it was brought to your table the day before. The cheese pull was fantastic and the flavors were still there. The second additional way to eat your pizza is cold. It was still really good as a cold slice of pizza from the fridge. You will taste their magnificent tomato sauce more, and the cheese may be stiff from cooling, but it still has that great mozzarella taste. The toppings, of which I had the All Star deep dish, still pack a flavorful punch the next day. If you want a contemporary pizza with the best flavors, you come here. They will welcome you with friendly smiles and delicious pizzas. If you're old enough to drink, I recommend the Aviation. Not too sweet, has a citrus taste, and reminds you its still alcohol. All in a good cocktail. Happy eating!

This was the first time for me and my coworkers and it will definitely be on rotation now. We went around 3 pm, so the wait was nonexistent. It was just us and another party there. We ordered the garlic bread for starters and that was gone in about 5 minutes. Those were so good. It comes with ranch and marinara. We then ordered an Italian Combo Detroit style and a meatball pizza Chicago style. Everyone at the table loved the interesting combinations for the Italian. Fan favorite. The meatballs one was also good but nothing like the other one. It was so much food that we all ate a slice and took two home after. So it was very well worth it.

Very neat building and pizza joint. We went for lunch and all had the lunch pizza special. I had the All Star pizza in dip dish. The pizza was really good with lots of sauce and meat. Also had the Cesar salad which was good. Decent beer selection with rotating handles. Had Fieldworks IPA. The building is an old Wells Fargo with safe doors still in the walls. Defiantly would recommend this place. The Pizza was $11 and $4 for Cesar salad.

The burrata and garlic crostini was nice and crispy and not hard or too crunchy. Pizzas were tasty. We sat outside with our dog and the waiter kindly moved the large umbrella because it was a sunny summer day

Can't go wrong with Happy Hours here! Ordered two personal pizzas - deep-dish and thin crust. The blue cheese flavor was kinda lacking, but it's happy hour price so not the end of the world here. Well cocktails are $7 so that's a steal too! Saw a vault on the way to the restroom.. what's that about?

A fascinating place on Park in Alameda, an old high security bank complete with massive vaults converted to a deep dish pizza saloon. Great selection of interesting deep dish pizzas, really fascinating atmosphere - the feel of an old style bank adds a ton of atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and professional as well as accommodating. If you want to dine in a unique styled location, I would recommend you give this place a try....

The atmosphere is really cool, quick service, and pizza was definitely good. A🚨Main issue now is last month I was there (Feb 20 2026) they had signs saying cashless establishment. Might be an issue for certain folks

The deep dish is super tasty. The crust is really good. Vegan cheese available. I’ve done both dine in and take out. They have a good salad + pizza deal for dine in. Fun restaurant atmosphere. Nice staff.

What other pizza "joint" do you know of that has chandeliers with a solid dark wood ceiling and a marble wall with 2 vaults. This place has taken it up a few notches. Got the thin crust pizzas. Favorite was the all star with a side of anchovies. They had issues with their wifi and some of the ticket orders were delayed. Employees were very apologetic. They handled it the best they could.

It’s been a long time since we ate here and decided to try it to see the quality of the food now. Food quality has improved and previous issues we had is no longer an issue. The difference now comes down to the type of crust between Zachary and the Star. It is now personal preference that makes the choice or to have different types of deep dish. Service was on the slow side and part of the issue is that they have a good number of employees there but seems like inefficient assignment leading to server taking a long time to come by from taking order to needing to get drinks refilled.

Came here on Black Friday and the place was loud and fun, it was my first go at deep dish pizza. I gotta say that the sauce was very good and spicy. I could only eat 2 slices and was full. Love the spice. The service is excellent and pretty much there when we needed, and took care of us well. Returned to Star on Park for the All Star deep dish personal Pizza for lunch added a salad and my dining companion ordered a thin crust pizza

Quite frankly I was surprisingly amazed by the deliciousness of thin crust and how crispy it was while hot. On the entrance got seated as preferred with the smile and great customer service. Thin crust and salads were served in less than 10 minutes with outstanding taste and crispiness of California style pizza. Have it while it’s hot cause then it becomes soggy. Classic deep dish with chicken was very filling and had nice chunks of tomatoes in it. Good and pleasant service underlines the history of this place being a bank facility. Some interior improvements might be needed however well deserved four stars. Will see you next time.

Food is good but so over priced. $60 (incl tip) for a small pizza and salad. So tired of Bay Area pricing!

We went during a peak hour so this review could be taken with a grain of salt. Our order was mistaken twice although the waiter had confirmed with us following us stating the order. We ordered the little star in a deep dish. The deep dish crust was great but the proportion of toppings wasn’t the greatest. It felt to be 75% large tomatoes and 25% rest of toppings. Again, want to be understanding of the hustle hour but it also wasn’t the best experience overall.

Slow Monday afternoon. 30 minutes before appetizer arrived. Pizza 5 minutes later with burnt pepperoni. Large areas with no toppings. Why would a server even deliver such horrible product? Was a special occasion. Waited a week to go. Won't be back now.

One star for the food since we didn’t get to try it. Hostess was very rude. We had a reservation for 6 pm/ she told us to wait for a table to be cleaned off which was perfectly ok/ she then said never mind I have one ready. It was a high top behind the host stand there was a family of 5 sitting there already and barely any room for us on the shared bench. I asked her if we could wait for the table she originally said we could have and she told me no another reservation was coming at 630 (it was 6) I asked if we could sit at any of the other open tables and she once again said no. I am very disappointed by the service here. We went to Marley g’s pizza down the street instead

The Crust is Garbage: That "signature cornmeal crust" isn't unique; it just tastes like they dropped the pizza on a dusty garage floor and scraped it up. It’s dry, gritty, and the furthest thing from a proper Chicago pie. It’s an insult to actual deep dish. Acoustic Hell: The place is in an old bank, probably because they wanted a vault to contain the noise. You can't hear yourself think, let alone talk to the person across the table. It's loud, chaotic, and about as relaxing as a power tools convention. The Wait is a Joke: "Deep dish takes time," is their excuse for making you sit there like a captive audience for 45 flipping minutes while you starve. By the time the thing hits your table, you’re too annoyed to even eat the lukewarm brick of cheese and sauce. Overpriced Trash: You're paying premium fine-dining prices for basic, heavy, gut-bomb pizza. It’s highway robbery. Save your cash and get something decent anywhere else in Alameda.
