Kabob Shack Brooklyn Reviews
I only get the Greek salad which taste really good but I've been told all the other food there is delicious
Just went there to have falafel on the plate and I enjoyed everything about it. The way it comes and how fresh it was!!
They have good sauce selections and they really know how to get their meat spiced up and cooked. Very good options for carnivores and ketos as they sell the meat by skewers.
Very good place and very good staff and the owner is amazing guy
The food is absolutely awesome, the lamb burger is just too good! The staffs are also so friendly and awesome. Must try if you are in the neighbourhood.
Chicken and lamb shawarma are really good. A little confusion between the staff behind the register relating to customer orders. But a solid spot
Really good food. Great portion size. Had the falafel it was crisp and delicious. Service was good and the wait wasn’t bad.
good salad bowls, the shrimp salad bowl was more delicious then the lamb, clean place, nice small stool hang out while eating, not for large seating
Pretty awesome and really good vibes with the food and the staff, can’t wait to go again.
Falafel pita sandwich is great bang for buck and so good, even as a meat eater myself I always get it.
Love this place. White sauce could use a little more cucumber imho but this is spot is a regular in my household
The lamb burger was bomb, Chicken pita was too good! And their service was amazing. Good job guys! Keep it up.
My go to spot for a falafel or chicken sandwich! Great service, and very reasonable prices. Very lucky to have this place across the street from me!
I love that everything is grilled, food tastes great. I always get the beef kabob plate and fries w/Roast Garlic dip. Just wish they were on Seamless :)
Valid falafel sandwiches and yummy sauces to put on your fries. A simple menu that provides enough good stuff to come back for more.
Love the gyros here! The assortment of dipping sauces are great too. And the staff has always been friendly when I go here.
I wanna give 10 stars! I love Mediterranean food and this place topped every other fancy kabob/ Greek restaurant ever! Can’t wait to go back.
Very delicious food. I would highly recommend to try this place. They do have dine in available. Staff was very friendly and nice mashallah.
So good. Veggie kabobs are great and so is the hummus. Every time I eat here I wonder why I dont eat it more often!
Tasty chicken, very good quality - noticably better than a typical kabob place.
kabob shack - where are you? I miss you. when will the renovations be done? I need some fries / my falafel special. please reopen soon. xo
Everything here is simple but delicious. Basics done right. Generous hunks of meat, flavorful falafel and hummus, cheap, consistent. A go-to.
I mean these guy are abs fantastic. I order from them regularly cause the food is just delicious and this time I ordered from Uber eats. And as usual the Uber eats delivery was late, but this time very late. The food waited there for over an hour. I called the restaurant and the lady who answered the phone was just amazing. She was nice and agreed I can send a car to pick it up the order but by the time I tried, the Uber eats app showed the delivery guy is headed over. The food came after an hour and 40 min. They kept it warm or delivered a new dish. The food was again great and they added a baklava although I did not order. Great food and even a better service.
There are restaurants that are memorable because the flavors are amazing, even if it's expensive. Then there are restaurants that are memorable because the food is good enough but is insanely cheap. Somehow...Kabob Shack's falafel sandwich manages to be the best of both worlds: the freshest, crispiest falafel I've had in New York AND only six dollars. Doesn't feel real. I work across the street and never get tired of the falafel for lunch. The people who work there are lovely too :)
Best gyro I've ever eaten. Friendly and prompt service. This spot is mainly takeout. However there's a park near by with benches, so you can enjoy your delicious food 😋
I love this place, their is so good and healthy Grilled chicken yum . I had coworkers question me why am alway eat from here .Than they tried it for themselves and cant stop ordering.
God I love that place!!!! I swear to God my favorite place for falafels!!!! Every time I’m visiting my friend in NYC we go there because their falafel special ( which includes best fries ever!!!!!) is mad cheap , like 6.50!!!! 6.50$... it’s heaven! Small place, most likely you’ll pass it and won’t even bother to come in, but ppl who knows they know.... check it out. You won’t regret it.
It was a stormy day, so we asked Siri a cheap place to eat and the Kabob Shack came up. We pulled up to this hole on the wall and were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is chill and the staff are cool people. Recommendations.... chicken and lamb gyro is absolutely delicious!! Get the jalepeno cheddar dipping sauce - you will not regret it.... not spicy, has a tiny kick, but is so deliciously creamy. Prices are reasonable ($10 for a gyro with fries... better than spending $10 for a meal at McDonalds). The cook makes EVERYTHING FRESH when you order it. This place is a hidden gem, but locals flood in to get takeout, people call orders in and they kept getting alerts from UberEats. It's a hotspot! We are not from Williamsburg, but we pinned this location because we plan to come back again and again.
I love the lamb gyro! Seriously some of the best gyro in the city, definitely best in brooklyn. The lamb is tender yet crispy. The service is consistently good too. The fries and garlic sauce are great
I got the Falafel sandwich special with fries. Great deal! Loaded with veggies and only $6ish. The wait during lunch was a bit long so I would suggest ordering ahead before pick up.
Falafel pita is $5.50, and the Gyro sandwich is excellent
The incredible shrinking sandwich. Bottom line is that it still tastes great but the portion has shrunk. Prices have remained the same as far as I remember but it now much more of a diminutive meal.
First time trying this place I had a falafel salad By Kruz which taste amazing and was definitely made with love. The falafel was a little salty but cooked fresh to order.
My go-to-spot for falafel or gyro sandwiches in Williamsburg! Staff is super friendly, which is a big bonus!
Honestly one of my favorite spots for a quick lunch or dinner in South Williamsburg - highly recommend the falafel fries special. The prices are very fair and they have a bunch of great sauces to have on the side
Kabob shack has become a staple in my diet. The food is always fresh, and tasty as hell. Can’t go wrong no matter what you order, but the hummus is must.
Have not been here in years but happy to say that chicken sandwich on a pita was incredible. For $10 dollars it was filled and the chicken was so tender. I asked for no lettuce but it all went together so well. Can’t wait to go back l! They are super busy on the platforms I could see.
This place has a welcoming vibe and the staff are very professional, I enjoyed the gyro and I am looking forward on trying other options on their menu. 5/5 I would highly recommend!
Honestly I'm upset I didn't try this place earlier, I went through so many disappointing gyros. This one is PERFECT everything from the meat, bread, even the side of hot sauce is incredible. The chicken Kabob is also excellent 👌🏽
The lamb gyro combo is 10/10! Soo good. The fries was nice and crispy and their special house sauce? AMAZING I had to take one to go. lol the owner was super nice and welcoming. Lovely experience, Definitely recommend.
The first time a ate there I wanted salmon and the owner said they were out of salmon. I made a very sad face and after a few minutes the owner said he was saving a piece to take home for his dinner but he would instead cook it for me. Not only is this some of the best food in Sugar Land it’s also an establishment that really cares about making your experience very memorable. And I can’t end this review without mentioning their Greek salad, it will blow your mind.
Great food. Fresh! You can tell it’s fresh. I ordered a falafel sandwich with French fries! I love the way they do their fries!! I am big on fries...the sandwich was the best part though. This food was also very filling and they have great sauces! I love the roasted garlic and that spicy red sauce. I’m so glad it’s by my job! I will be back!
The value for the money is astonishing -- they are a significantly better value for your dollar just in terms of quantity than any of the fast food restaurants down the street -- and the food is always tasty. This is especially impressive because I don't like kabobs, gyros, or shawarma that much, but I'll make an exception for this place. My only small gripe is that I wish they gave you more pita bread with the hummus, but I'm not petty enough to subtract a star for that. Highly recommended.
Great food. Ask for the spicy ready sauce, pour over your rice, then use the light sauce to extinguish the fire No seriously, this place has consistently good food. The Greek salad is really good too. Went here first time 3 years ago.
This place rocks. So affordable and yummy. my favorite place to grab a quick bite after a long shift!
Greeted with a smile and excellent customer service. Great specials options and good recommendations from cashier. I had a the falafel special with European fries and it was delicious: perfectly cooked veggie patties with great flavor from the cilantro and garlic. Extra fixings and cucumber sauce really brought it all together as a great sandwich. I look forward to coming back again soon.
I live around the corner, and this is definitely a cheap, quick dinner meal for me. The pita sandwiches are always loaded, the falafel is fresh, and there are so many dips for the zillion fries they give you! Not to mention they're fast and friendly.
I love this little spot, everything is made fresh to order, their falafel is always fresh and crisp, they have amazing specials like a falafel sandwich with fries. Now they have a lentil soup which is just amazing. Also, whenever you walk in, all of the employees greet you. Great little place with good food and great service!
Excellent food, service is fast and attentive. I told the cook how to cook the lamb and he was very happy to do it my way. It tastes delicious Lamb on a Gyro.
Very very solid. Most kabob places get the details wrong, but when I braved the rain and ordered a falafel plate today, they got the details right: the rice is not dry, but fresh; the pita is not hard or soggy, but well-baked and flaky (truly a standout). The portion size is good for the price.
My favorite spot for a delicious Chicken Pita. 10/10
Great tasty food and good portion sizes. The Falafels were crispy on the outside and perfectly moist in the center. The Yuro was very tasty. All of the rice was perfectly cooked. I will eat here again on my next visit to New York.
Got the gyro pita sandwich and chicken pita sandwich, great quick lunch spot. Spicy sauce was fantastic!
I worked with Kabob Shack to feed about 50 folks during a community event in Williamsburg. To start, I appreciated their community-oriented approach. They were really flexible, supportive of the organization, and responsive to our dietary needs & timeline. The employees are kind and helpful. The food was delicious! We got plates for those who eat chicken and falafel plates for folks who didn't eat meat. Both plates had rice, salad, pita, and chickpeas in a tomato sauce. Folks felt nourished and satisfied. The plates had enough for lunch & to snack on later! The sauces were delicious - some folks even asked to take them home with them at the end of the day. The food felt fresh, made with love, and good flavors for sure! Thank you! Note: Wish we could've got photos of the chicken plate as well, but we got so excited about eating!
I defend this restaurant when anyone criticizes. The kitchen produces dishes of remarkable flavor. These workers delivered perfect service. The location is also pretty fun to hangout after dinner too. This restaurant earns my endorsement.
This place earns its top status. The food expands your culinary horizons noticeably. They charge appropriately for substantial servings. The team delivered steady, high-quality service throughout. What you spend here comes back in satisfaction.
Kabob Shack serves up delicious kebabs, gyros, and falafel with bold, authentic flavors and generous portions. The food is consistently fresh, and the pita is always warm and fluffy. Mohammed and Eric were incredibly kind and welcoming, making the whole experience even better.
I ordered Kabob Shack on DoorDash as a late lunch and they were running a special for buy one get one on a few dishes. I went with the beef platter and got sweet potato fries as well. The meat was well spiced and very flavorful, the pita was fresh, and the side salad was also yummy. If I am back in the area I'll definitely be trying more of their menu! I highly recommend them.
Well, I can't find my "forgot to post" first review (I'm old), where I raved about the friendliness of everyone working at the Kabob Shack and drew attention to the special occasion of me receiving the very first platter made up by this lovely young woman working there. I felt honored to say the least, since she was oozing all over with positive vibes and a giant proud smile. check out the photo of my platter and drool away. Was there again the other night and yup! It's the reason I get out of bed every evening. This time i had the Salmon Kabob Platter (forgot to photograph- I'm old) and ...i think I need to eat this again tonight.
So delicious and great value for the moderate prices. The plates offer a great portion for a solid meal, including a reasonable portion of pita. Gyro was so full of flavor! And the baklava was to die for! Delivery was pretty quick too on a Saturday evening. Would absolutely order from here again.
Chicken pita is ok. Need more veggies and stronger flavor. Can sit outdoor on the small table/chairs
Solid portions and great drink selection. For a quick filling bite this is a good spot especially when you're not in the mood for fried American food.
Fries are incredible, souses are very good. Falafel sandwich is thin and sour. But pita is just pity.
Chicken pita sandwich with a fries! Get it! So good. I do my own sriracha on it. It never disappoints. The shop owner is a nice person too.
Food/Salads Fries Gyros = Good Place is nice.. a lil small but nice Simple quick simple filling bite to eat..one flaw.. wish the had their own delivery instead of u having to use an app to order delivery only bummer
All the meat was homemade and well seasoned. You can tell the cook put love into every gyro he made. Fries had a good sauce, and were well cooked. Service was a little slow but given the lunch rush I don’t blame them. Overall it hits the spot if you’re looking for a kebab/gyro.
Specials are gyro + fries (chicken, lamb, or mix) for $9.50. So delicious. The seasoning is on point. Very flavorful. The fries were nice and crispy with choice of interesting sauces (I picked the house sauce). I want to try the kebob platter next. Highly recommended. I think I'm a convert =)
I like the food the the price not so much but it is worth it and I will come back to this place
Ordered a Gyro Pita Sandwich with a side of the House White Sauce thru Uber Eats. The sandwich was really good. 1st time eating here and would definitely ordered from then again. The only thing was on the app, the Gyro Pita Sandwich said it came with lettuce but there wasn't any lettuce but the picture on the app also didn't have lettuce so idk lol.
I thought the beef and lamb skewers should have been cheaper for what you got. Also might have been better to present the skewered meat on a bamboo skewer wrapped in paper and save on the plastic container.
If you come expect to bring your own silverware because you can't cut the meat with the flimsy plastics they provide. Hummus is bland. Garlic sauce did not taste like garlic. Okay for take out
Food os good, it's tasty and comes in good quantity! I would prefer take out as the place seems to have a peculiar odour because of the cooking! The tables are sticky too. Definitely recommend for the food!
They used to be real good and gave a decent portion of chicken. Now, they minimized the chicken portion by half but still the same amount of mayo and veggies on the kebab sandwich. So you raise prices and still skimp on chicken?? Not cool!
The place it's not a "Restaurant" it's more like to go place and 3 small tables. Food was good (my lamb a bit salty) but, tasty. I recommend the place only TO GO. It's small.
Nice food selection but the taste was really average. The chicken was a little dried out, the white sauce just kind of tasted like ranch dressing, and the side salad was nothing special. However, the hot sauce they had was extraordinary and really spicy in a good way.
I’m glad the business survived COVID - but unfortunately prices and portions have been seriously affected. For $16 you get quite literally four bites of meat. Might be enough for a child or small person. The hummus is very tasty though.
Staff too busy flirting with guys from the block to take orders. Food was dry or greasy, and tasteless across the board. Special award for perhaps the most tasteless sauce I have ever encountered in any cuisine. Think water resulting from washing a paintbrush. Two stars because the chicken kebab was passable. Gyro and falafel could have been cardboard from an old oil-soaked pizza box.
I live nearby and finally gave this place a try. I understand that rent is high in Williamsburg but the portion size and price point for the falafel salad I ordered did not match. It was essentially four small falafel balls, on a bed of lettuce with a topping or two. The person at the counter wasn’t particularly friendly either. I’m allergic to a lot of things and have to ask questions before I order at places, and she was visibly annoyed by this process. Bummer, since I love supporting small businesses, especially those owned by POC...
The chicken was super dry and the young lady working the register seemed pained to even acknowledge my existence as a fellow human being. I don’t need someone to jump up and down with excitement, but at least a simple greeting and answering questions with more than one word would be great
Very RUDE registre guy(guess from Égypte)bad communications with me&doesn't answer me by phone to day 6h45 p.m* since 2018 I'm costumer/
Let's start with the cashier. She was a mess to say the least. She was all over the place, and was so distracted by everything like a 5 year old kid. The cook kept telling her simple order taking steps. Second, the food is so basic and such a rip off. Such a small platter for $10 bucks!! Really? The rice was not flavorful, very basic. The kebob wasnt bad but c'mon, you're charging $10 for a kebob platter and you give me two finger length kebobs with a small platter of flavorless rice and one big quarter of an onion and tomato. SMH. This place really puts middle eastern food to shame. This is a place for inexperienced foodies to get ripped off when the food establishment doesn't even try to put a special touch on their food. Very disappointed. You really, honestly deserve one star but the cook was very nice, so you get 2. Good Luck.
They say they give you “European ketchup” however I took a sample of it and put it through a Bostwick Consistometer and just as I thought it’s highly likely the ketchup contains high fructose corn syrup which is banned in Europe so false advertising
I bought a gyro, the portion is small for this price, they could have put more chicken in it
Let’s adjust a bit the service here. A hello a smile or something? The person at the cashier with face piercings seems def not happy to serve serve you
If it takes you over an hour to prepare a simple order of falafels and salad don't be in business. Do something else with your time.
I recently left the restaurant after seeing a cockroach crawling across the glass counter above the condiments. When I looked away for a spit-second, the cockroach disappeared.
I ordered hummus with pita bread and the hummus was straight out of the box. Disgusting.
I asked the cashier if they had a bathroom. She just rolled her eyes an told me I can cancel my order. The portions are very small for the money you pay. The place is dirty. Don't go here.
The woman taking orders was horrible. She barely understood what you are saying, then she would take a call in the middle of taking your order. Our food took FOREVER to get. People that came in after us with a large group got their food before us!!! And not to mention, I got really sick after eating their food. Like, on the toilet for 2 days. Never going back again
The women that takes orders was the worst. They sent me a plate with rice when I asked for just greens in it when I called them about it she told me she can’t change it and she can’t do anything about it. I’m highly allergic to rice and can’t eat it. I basically gave my money for free and lost my dinner. This is sad definitely for people with allergies
I got the chicken pita sandwich, and it was subpar at best. There was just a few shreds of lettuce and a couple cubes of tomato thrown on. It was edible, but it wasn't good at all. It was bland, the sauce was bland, the chicken was dry and bland. On top of the food being sub par, the service was not good either. The girl at the counter had a careless attitude like she couldn't be bothered. I watched my sandwich get made and the cook put it on the counter by the register. It stood there right in front of her for a good few minutes before she realized it was there and finally bagged it and gave it to me. It wasn't busy either I was the only one in there. Over priced (over $10 for a pita sandwich?!) for the lack of quality and inauthentic cuisine. I should have taken the extra few minutes to walk over to Oasis like I originally wanted to. Save your money and go to Oasis... You'll get authentic, less expensive, and much better food.
