Fred's Dog House Brooklyn Reviews
Delicious, authentic vegan hot dogs in pretzel buns 🌭 Delicious cocktails and drinks 🍸 Such a great night at Fred’s Dog House — cozy Brooklyn energy and the music was amazing !
New Moon Acoustic Blues are the only reason I come here and it is a solid venue. Varities of hotdogs to cocktails and beers. A great place to include throughout your night out.
It was empty when we arrived at 615 but packed when we left at 8. The cocktails we tried were delicious and the bartender was friendly. The happy hour prices are great and it’s nice to have vegan dogs!
Toppings on the hot dogs were fresh. Great service. I wish they had real hot dogs. The vegan ones had a weird flavor.
Great night of live Blues music, cozy spot with good vibes, even got in a dance and totally recommend the Bahn Mi hot dog. Doc French & Arthur Nelson on the stage. ❤️
Almost didn’t want to share this place! It’s pretty new and they serve plant based hot dogs. They were so tasty and I ordered the bahn mi one and also the cheese dog and filled me up pretty well! The bartender Manta is so kind! He let me and my friend charge our phones for a bit and made some conversation with us before the bar got busy! The music is also amazing! I didn’t realize how much I love listening to live blues. Didn’t catch the name of the musician but he was multi tasking several instruments. I LOVE the vintage feeling of the place it has so much charm to it! I would recommend putting a hook in the bathroom for purses because I couldn’t find one and almost dropped my bag in the toilet lol! Also same with the bar area if sitting there I would like a hook for my bag :) Please keep this place VEGAN and I’ll come here every day! It’s so hard to find nice bars with only vegan options! We don’t want things to cross contaminate. If people want regular hot dogs with beef they should go to the hot dog stands in NYC. Please keep this place special and vegan 💖💖
Such a wonderful spot with live music. So so so recommend. You can sit up close to the music, or further to talk. Choose your adventure.
It’s cool easy going bar with live music on the weekends , I got to experience the blues on a Friday

Stopped in randomly for a beer because I was in the area early for a dinner reservation a few doors down. Liked the vibes so much I brought the whole crew back after dinner for some music and drinks. As someone who grew up in a blues town, this place made me nostalgic simultaneously for the old blues bars I grew up in and for the Brooklyn I moved to 20 years ago. Bravo to the owner. A new favorite for me.
Freds is by far the best place i’ve ever been to in new york! Their drinks are amazing , the hotdogs never disappoint , live performances never miss and the staff here are phenomenal! From Adam,Tristan, John and Amanda .. they have all made this place so special and i truly love coming here because of it. If you are ever in NY make sure to stop by here !!
I reached out to a bunch of bars to host around 20 friends for my birthday and most of them came back with insane minimum spends and complexity around payment. I ended up hosting it at Fred’s where they gladly hosted a large group of my friends and family without any stipulations or minimums. The staff were incredibly accommodating to us despite the large party size, even as they got busy. The Old Fashioned was great. I wish they carried Guinness which is my only gripe. There was live blues from 8:30-11:30 which was phenomenal. The atmosphere was lively with lots of other young people without being packed. My friends really enjoyed the vegan hot dogs. I can’t believe I’d never been here before but will be coming back soon and often.
What a sexy and inviting blues, folks music joint. All musicians are welcomed on Tuesdays from 8 to 1 to share their love of blues, jazz, folk music and to be yourself. Vegan hotdogs and a simple menu. A sexy and warm experience. I go there all the way from Rockaway Beach to Williamsburg.
Is this…….the best bar I’ve ever been to but no one’s heard of?! Maybe I live under the a rock but I had no idea about this place until recently and live 2 blocks away. Open air, hot dogs, and life music in a vibey dive bar. I’m obsessed. Yes the hot dogs are vegan but you can’t tell so don’t be a brat. OBSESSED with this place. Ethan the manager is great too. Will be back as much as I can that’s for sure. Oh also basically all the people here were hot
Stopped in on whim and really enjoyed the music. Drinks were average, nothing spectacular or over the top. Overall the service was pretty solid considering how busy it was. We would definitely come in again for another show!
Beautiful place. Great atmosphere. Wonderful live music. A must see Brooklyn experience.

What an amazing addition to the neighborhood! The atmosphere is perfect—very Americana. The music is just right. I’m so happy they have vegan hot dogs, too! The Banh mi dog is my fave. Can’t wait to come back!
Sweet find, awesome live blues music with such an awesome sound. Plant based hot dogs are delicious even for a meat eater and served quickly. The cocktails were such a delight for a end of the night cap. Can't wait to see this place grow.
I love this spot for the most part, but have only been 3 times. The reason for that is every time I go, it’s an insanely long wait to get a drink. I’m not sure if I got unlucky with only going while they only have 1 bartender, but we’ve only gotten 1 drink each time because we couldn’t deal with waiting for another.
I usually don’t eat a lot of vegan food just cause I’m more of a meat person, I didn’t realize it was vegan until after I ordered my hot dog. My first impression was that it was really good.

What a disappoint this spot is. Atmosphere is awesome, the drinks taste like I’m back in college. This place is so confusing. The hotdogs are all vegan, which is a choice given the name. Overall I wanted to like this place, but I will not be back.

My buddy and I went here Sat April 26th for the first and perhaps for the last time. We generally had a good time with the music and food, but the serving staff was just rude. And I don’t mean that they said something and I took it the wrong way. The muscular man behind the bar with a bald head with a height of 5”7, just chewed us out. When we asked him what was in the hot dogs, which are vegan, he told us they were vegan and walked away. A minute later when we asked him what was inside once more, he came back with a heavy attitude. With a sharpness in his voice he loudly said (wish this was made up) that he did. not. care. His treatment of us in this way continued for the rest of the evening. Attitude alone, or those words spoken without attitude would have been unpleasant but stomacheable, but the combined tone and words spoken made the rest of our evening in the establishment and beyond, fairy uncomfortable. When we mentioned this to the single female bartender on staff (short hair), she offered that, were it any consolation to us, staff misconduct against customers was probably reflective of maltreatment by the owners against them. Strange and in appropriate response. Would be happy to go back once I can be sure the staff treats its customers with respect.
