Le Pistol Brooklyn Reviews
Very good martinis and incredible bar bites in a great atmosphere
Great cocktails, great atmosphere! Food was delicious, but I found it odd that the burger and sandwiches didn't come with fries. For the price, it would be great to include more than just the burger.
The food was very good and the cocktails were fantastic. Le Pistol seems like a perfect spot for a casual date or dinner with friends. We are excited to visit again and explore the menu!
Amazing place — groovy atmosphere and playlist, and the service is top notch. Better yet — food and cocktails are *chefs kiss* delicious. It’s the perfect neighborhood joint we’ve been missing in Prospect Heights.
One of the tastiest burgers and fries in town. Go for the happy hour cocktails and prices - stay for Tuesday night trivia!
Beautiful atmosphere and great vibe from everyone working there. We got the chicken Caesar salad sandwich and it was AMAZING.
My local bar! Great late hour drink deals and fun bartenders. Good cocktail options too always something new to try
didn’t have the food but the vibes are immaculate and you get a perfect group of people. philosophy club is on thursdays. DO NOT MISS THIS.
Love Le Pistol. Great drinks, great food, great vibes. I live nearby so am spoiled but would come here on the reg even if I didn’t.
BEST BAR EVER! Amazing drinks, hospitality on point. Friendly staff, cute space. Don't miss le pistol :)
Went for brunch! Solid menu, delicious food, great coffee. The staff was friendly and the overall vibe was cool and comfortable. Definitely want to go back for dinner and drinks.
Great Addition to the Neighborhood. Delicious Food and Drinks. Friendly and accommodating Staff. Live music and entertainment. As a native of the Neighborhood for over 30 years, this is one of my favorite places to go. Looking forward to them being here a long time.
The food and drinks are SO GOOD, but that’s not even the biggest sell at Le Pistol. The whole Le Pistol staff/ family is truly the nicest, coolest, most welcoming group of humans I’ve ever encountered. I affectionately refer to LP as “my Cheers”, because whether I had a bad day and need a pick me up and an ear or I’m just hungry and feel like a nice cocktail (or three) I feel like I’m hanging with friends when I come here. Brunch, dinner, whatever - can’t recommend this restaurant and the amazing LP family enough! (Mezcal lovers, try the Louboutin … dangerously good)
Came here for trivia on a Tuesday evening. We sat at the bar, I had a delicious martini (just caught happy hour for my first drink) and also had the deviled eggs which were super yummy. Good atmosphere and food, will visit again especially for trivia.
We love Le Pistol ! Been in the neighborhood for a while now and the bar has been such a positive addition to the neighborhood. I love their old fashioneds and shrimp and grits
Fantastic addition to the neighborhood. Great food, great cocktails, great vibe.
Nice place, recently opened. I ordered the burger and Cactus Juice drink. Despite a small wait (it was very full when we put in our order), the food was great and the drink tasty. Our server, Cesar, was very attentive and friendly. I’d be happy to return.
This is my favorite bar in the neighborhood by far! There is such a strong community feel, so many wonderful events, and the best food and drinks in town. Come once and you’ll be a regular.
Great place, amazing cocktails ! So delicious! The food is superb. Love the jazz! Great outdoor seating too! Staff are amazing!
Great spot! Everything from the food to the drinks to the service is perfect. Amazing hh deals and vibes. Steven is a great bartender as well!
The team and I came here and we had an amazing time. The food was absolutely excellent. My coworker had the “Matcha Sauvage” cocktail which was incredible. Definitely recommend
Love the new spot! Came here for dinner and drinks on a Friday night - there was a fun crowd, great music and friendly staff. There’s a big cocktail selection and the martinis were on point. The burger was also amazing - can’t wait to go back!
Always stop by for happy hour on my way home from work. Great drinks, awesome bartenders, and all around good vibes. Also a killer DJ Friday nights.
Great happy hour, wine happy hour that is, that’s all I’ve ever been here for
One of the nicest and well curated spots in all Brooklyn/Crown Heights. A hidden gem! Food & Atmosphere are phenomenal
I am considering making a yelp account simply to rave about my experience here. The drinks were funky but fresh, and my bartender Evelyn was super chill. I went in for a drink but ended up staying for a bite and a chat because the energy inside the place was great. Excellent staff and good drinks!
Great food and drinks - would recommend the shrimp and grits!! Also our servers were very kind and made the experience great
They have gluten free buns here! I had the most phenomenal burger just now and I will be coming back to eat it again!
Came in for brunch on a Sunday after reading the menu and was pleasantly surprised! Plenty of outdoor seating, attentive and sweet waitresses + delicious food, what more can you ask for on a Sunday. Will be returning on Wednesday for jazz and Monday’s for the fernet and wine bottle special!
Welcome to the neighborhood! Don’t sleep on this place. Great happy hour, delicious food, friendly bartenders, (Stephen, Isaac, Danny, etc,) gorgeous corner spot steps away from the usual “stuff to do” if you’re visiting, (botanic garden, museum, park,) and a great place to hang if you’re local. I love me a vodka martini French fry happy hour! With tip is under 20!
First off, outstanding customer service. Couldn’t ask for a better experience. The food is spectacular and they nail it with everything on the menu. You can see the use of attention to detail when it comes to presentation and taste. Came down from Massachusetts and always stop by when coming to Brooklyn because this place is outstanding
This is my favorite bar in the city. It has everything…the burger (and all food) is insanely good. There is incredible jazz on Mondays and Wednesdays. A great happy hour every day. Trivia on Tuesdays. Top tier cocktails and a great beer selection. Amazing bartenders. I have only 10/10 things to say!
Steven was excellent. Welcomed straight off the bat, very attentive and a good craic. We popped in for a quick drink with our mam's. Served delicious cocktails, the menu looked excellent. Overall a cool bar with a wicked and relaxed atmosphere. We didn't eat but will definitely be back for food another time. They also have live music apparently, and a nice outdoor street seating area. 10 10 would recommend. THANK YOU.
Love coming to this neighborhood spot! The burger and the wings are my personal faves but everything’s always so good and the people definitely make it. We always have a great time here - highly recommend!
Came in on a Sunday night with no expectations. Our server Mandy made our night. A mellow Sunday evening turned into a fantastic experience I couldn’t have asked for and more. Great place but the staff and attention to detail made our night! Will be back for Mandy and the punk 75!
This is such a lovely new spot! We live around the area, and this is great for a happy hour. We had the beer and a burger at a steep happy hour discount and couldn't have asked for better service. The cocktails are stellar and the staff is so kind. We'll definitely be coming back. Welcome to the neighborhood!
I was passing by and witnessed the thoughtful staff check on a neighborhood elder who needed a little rest on the outdoor seating while walking home with groceries. I’ve made a note to come back and support this business. Thank you for caring about your community.
I stopped in here with a friend on a whim and we were blown away by the level of execution coming out of that kitchen. We ordered the kale, beet, and walnut salad, the burger, and the Gruyère dip. All 3 were absolutely delicious. The Gruyère dip was decadent yet well-balanced. The salad was dressed and seasoned perfectly. I’m going to be craving that salad all summer. And finally, the smash burger was so well-seasoned and the umami was countered by this really interesting tomato jam. Every bite was engaging and delightful. Shout out to whoever’s in the kitchen putting that much love into the dishes. It shows and I will be back.
A super fun neighborhood bar/restaurant with jazz and trivia nights. We stopped in on a whim wanting a good burger. After living in the nabe for 20 years, we had learned to ignore this spot because the previous venue was lame - Sunshine something or other. They were meh. But about a year ago we noticed jazz was happening and then the hubby stopped in for brunch with a friend and was impressed with how good the food was. Tonight we went out looking for a good burger and thought we’d look and see what they had. Le Pistol is the new name and dang they have a fine, fine burger - hand made patty, tomato jam, grilled onions and garlic aioli - SHUT UP! The fries are homemade and the gem caesar was fresh and yummy. Very affordable and good wine/beer/craft cocktail selections. Kudos to chef! Steven welcomed us in like friends he hadn’t yet met - the whole experience was lovely. Super crowded and fun vibe.
Great little neighborhood spot with yummy bar food and boozy cocktails. The burger might be one of my favorites I've had in New York. Also really enjoyed the French onion dip.
Neighborhood gem! The smash burger and the vibes are always amazing. Service and events are also great. One of my favorite spots in the area
Warm, well paced service. Perfectly flattering lighting & great music ~ Badu vibes. Clean bathroom too! I’ll be back 😌
Had dinner here last night & really enjoyed it. Service was great. We had the burger, chicken caesar sandwich, and fries. The drinks were creative and delicious. They also do a $5 house wine at 9pm every night, had to stay and have a glass! My friend and I will definitely be back!!
Great little Brooklyn neighborhood place. Crafted cocktails, good wine. Food is excellent! Appetizers I recommend deviled eggs (they are different flavors each night) gruyere cheese and French onion dip on baguette rounds (total yum!) And for a sandwich...you must try the oxtail French dip WHICH IS OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!! I wanted to lick the plate. The staff is full of interesting young people who will engage you in conversation. They are very attentive to their clientele and quite knowledgeable about food and drinks. There are activities (trivia night, jazz trio, DJ, Philosophy club). Everyone is made to be at home. I am an older woman and I always feel completely comfortable seated at the bar to eat, drink, and watch sports. Super friendly staff and clientele.
Went for trivia night, was super fun. Yummy cocktails and the food was amazing. Desert special was incredible and the Mac and cheese 🤤. Definitely coming back.
Second time back here and it did not disappoint - Brooklyns best burger certainly lives up to the name. The Gruyère French onion soup is so flavorful - a must try! Staff super friendly, music great and atmosphere very chill - will be back again soon! Skipped on cocktails today as the hangover is real however they look great from afar :)!
I went here with a friend on late hours, without any prior reservations. It was 80% full but we still got the table right away. Ordered the drinks, which were pretty good and looked pretty too. We ordered fries with cheese sauce, not really a fan of it. But we also ordered whipped Feta, that one was really good. I would say the place is more for drinks. Really nice music. It was not live but still the playlist was so good! Perfect place to hang out with friends and couple drinks.
My favorite bar in Prospect Heights!!!!! Located on the cutest corner with the best ambiance, patio, bar, music, and people!!! The burger here is out of this world— brioche bun, garlic parm aioli, tomato aleppo jam, French meunster cheese, carmelized onion, smashed patties I mean it really can’t get better and more delicious than that, it’s definitely my favorite on the menu. I come here for that homey yet chic experience and excellent place to sip a wine with a friend. Grateful this place exists!!!!
My drink (Bad Bunny) was phenomenal! Burger and fries amazing! On top of that the dark and cozy vibes were exactly what I was looking for during my trip to Brooklyn. I will most definitely be back! <3
Favorite neighborhood gem. Outstanding food and atmosphere. Their burger is a must have in addition with their flight of fries with 3 delicious sauces on a side. If you haven’t been here before you have to give it a try.
Stopped in midday for late lunch. Never been before but was curious. Was greeted by Danny’s super positive energy and great recommendations. Got the smash burger, fries (burger came with $2 happy hour beer so fun bonus) and enjoyed every bite of it all. Was a fun surprise to the hot summer day. Showed friends pics of the food while I was here and they said they’re coming back with me next time. Def recommend and def coming back.
Amazing spot in Prospect Heights! The cocktails and food are so good. The staff are friendly and attentive! I had the Punk 75 and the Oxtail French Dip! 🤤 apparently this is the new happening spot in Brooklyn! Definitely coming back here!
Love this bar/cafe.. The drinks & food are amazing!!! I love a good burger but if you're looking for something a little more elevated, get the oxtail dip on baguette!!!!!!!!! Absolutely delicious. I almost stopped by today for another one. The deviled eggs are a hit as well. Good food, cocktails, & tunes..
Okay this place is SUCH a good place to celebrate a birthday!!!! My friend Jen loves meat! She actually loves steak houses which is kind of weird to me no offense Jen! So just so you know my friend Jen knows her meat and her martinis! Which is cool! The burger and martini is to DIE FOR!!!!! They know how to make a martini with lemon twist (double!!!) and a squirt of lemon juice!!! XOXO!!! Yummy!!!!!! Churros are so good here! They’ll put a candle in it which is cool 😎
Great ambiance and service that accompany a small but incredible menu! A standout was the fried chicken caesar sandwich - the breading really stood out not only for being flavorful but for holding onto the chicken thru every bite. Had the brooklyn burger as well that had a touch of sweetness which balanced all the flavors. I live nearby & will definitely be back!
Very nice spot to get together with a friend or a small family get together. Unfortunately I was driving a pregnant lady,so I couldn't drink. Food was good, but my main reason, for going back would be atmosphere: people, music, relax design.
The food was phenomenal, we had the frites, pork belly, smash burger and shrimp and grits. Everything was made to perfection, the flavors blended amazing with each bite. The staff is so kind and personable. Will definitely be back!
Four of us enjoyed Sunday brunch! We cleaned our own plates and the extra fruit plate and table pancake plate. I’ll speak to the most delicious Shrimp & Grits I’ve ever had. That says everything as that and eggs Benedict are two of my faves to try everywhere and compare. First, the grits were creamiest ever. The grilled shrimp was done perfectly, but the addition of soft, thin onion slices, bites of porkbelly, and sweet microgreens made every bite delicious. We were visiting Brooklyn, but our kids said they added Le Pistol to their top 5 now.
Stopped here before a concert and I loved this little gem! The drinks were so good and the salmon was so delicious! The atmosphere is chic and the service exceeded my expectations. Our server Cesar did a great job and made sure we were never low on drinks! I will definitely return here for brunch next time because their brunch menu looked yummy too! Do yourself a favor and dine here!
OMG this place ROCKS! Happy hour? amazing Late night happy hour? double amazing. am i drunk right now? YES BECAUSE THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. I’m so glad this bar exists. Vibe is super great. Staff is chill. Food is TASTY. 11 dollar old fashioned at HH? just literally drown me in a barrel of whiskey and bitters.

This is the type of bar you want to find yourself in on a crisp rainy night. I’m surprised this isn’t a city known burger it was so good. Loved the chicken sandwich and drinks as well! The waiters were so friendly and I happened to be there during live jazz!

This place is such a gem! Everything from the food to the drinks to the atmosphere is such a fun (and almost European!) vibe! 10/10. No notes!

I can’t rate this place highly enough. Neighborhood vibes, the bartenders get to know you, and the food and drinks are outstanding. The quality is extremely high and it’s a vibey atmosphere without being pretentious. 10/10!!!
Been here quite a few times, and every time is just a little different but still wonderful. Excellent bartending, a menu they change up just often enough to keep forcing you out of your comfort zone -- everything's great -- and the best vibes and atmosphere. A plum location too, with the extensive windows on the corner. Can't recommend it enough.
I’ll start by saying that they were clearly slammed when we went around 7:30 on a Saturday. Service was good, but they seemed understaffed. The food was good as well, and in line with its peers price wise. The burger was delicious, and very satisfying. It would have been nice if the burger came with anything other than just by itself (maybe some pickled veggies or a few fries?). Ordered separately, the fries were the weak point of the meal. Over done and dry, they were disappointing, however that could easily be attributed to a busy restaurant and a kitchen that was trying to keep up. Drinks were good and normally priced. Overall the atmosphere was good and it was an enjoyable experience.
Positives: The space itself, ambience, music, menu. Oxtail dip was good and the jus was delicious. My drink was really nice too. Negatives: Service. At best, it’s absentee. In fact, I’m writing this from my bar stool w/ confidence nobody will ask if I’d like anything else, or a check, before finishing this review. I chalk it up to a new spot. Rooting for them to succeed because it’d be in my best interest. Much needed spot in the neighborhood, all things considered. Will come back for sure.
Food was lovely but biscuit is more doughy than crumbly, if that's your thing. The high tables are a bit uncomfortable if you're tall, but the atmosphere was pleasant and waitstaff are very kind and present.
I stumbled upon this charming restaurant while walking down the street and was immediately drawn to it by the menu displayed outside, allowing you to check out the options before stepping in. It was a beautiful day, and we initially wanted to sit outside, but the patio was packed, so we opted to stay inside. The restaurant is quite intimate, with small tables, making it more suited for smaller parties. The food was excellent! We ordered the Shrimp and Grits, which were absolutely amazing—10/10! We also had the classic breakfast, which I'd highly recommend if you're not feeling too adventurous. The service was great; no complaints there. Definitely check out this restaurant if you're in the area!
Two frenchies walk into a French brunch bistro in Brooklyn, and oh la la what could possibly go wrong?! Le Pistol brunch in Brooklyn is a delightful mix of culinary excellence and cultural confusion. The food? Magnifique. The ambiance? Well, let's just say, they got some distinct French things wrong and some things very right. Firstly, the servers were way too friendly. In a true French restaurant, you expect a healthy dose of disdain with your meal. Secondly, the size of the orange juices was laughable. In France, you would get a size able OJ, but here, it was more like a shot glass. Paying $5 for half an orange seems excessive even for Brooklyn, especially as these oranges come from Orange County, they’re not even Champagne import (like us). The breakfast toasts were a curious affair. Served deconstructed, we were essentially tasked with sandwich assembly. Perhaps the kitchen staff were channeling their inner French by making us work for our meal. Halfway through our ‘petit’ toasts, we caved and ordered pancakes, hoping they'd arrive before dinner. To our relief, they were American-sized fluffy pancakes, a stark contrast to the expected deconstructed crepes. Overall, Le Pistol gets an A+ for food and an F for French authenticity—maybe minus the long wait for the food to arrive and being included in the labor of making brunch happen. So in that sense, a little taste of home. All blagues aside, Pistolet is a solid brunch option and <bah oui> who needs Paris when you've got Brooklyn?
Hospitality and engagement are missing...probably because they have local traffic.... food was good. They do not check back in until check is due....opportunities for being better hosts.

The service and ambience were great. It was crowded but the noise level wasn't bad (I hate noisy restaurants) and the wait staff couldn't have been friendlier. The food was good but not amazing. I had the grits with shrimp which was delicious but a tad too rich for my taste. Same for the biscuits with ox tail gravy (I think the word 'greasy' was tossed about). Compared to many restaurants, the prices were decent so overall, I would recommend.

Wow, I know a lot of places are dealing with being understaffed right now, but this was nuts. Our waiter was so deeply unfriendly and curt, even though we patiently waited for him to finally stop by. He took our order then disappeared for like 20 min without bringing the coffees we ordered. Our food literally came out before the coffee, just silly. As I looked around as we ate, other people were also seemingly baffled that they had been waiting so long. Just not a great vibe, the servers were probably slammed and I get but for $40 of brunch for two egg sandwiches, it was just not a good time. Food is pretty tasty though.
Only had the brunch so can’t speak to the dinner menu but was very disappointed. One of the worst pancakes I had, chewy and overcooked. The breakfast sandwich was nothing special and they forgot to add the bacon, which we mentioned and kindly gave us a side of bacon. Potatoes tasted like they were made a couple days ago. The bartender/was very friendly and nice and he was also kind enough to take off the pancakes from our check but really disappointing way to start out a Sunday.
We had a super weird night at this place. The server was a dream and so kind, but the food was a really mixed bag. Things tasted good, but our Oxtail sandwich was filled with hidden bones that nearly cracked our teeth and our chicken sandwich was raw in the center. When we sent the chicken back for a new one, the replacement was more raw than the first. I didn't have it in me to keep sending the server back to the kitchen so my partner and I put a paper napkin over it and left. The drinks were good and the bartender was really nice too look at. I'd consider going again, but only for beverages. Also it was sooo bright inside? Why was it so bright inside?
The menu went from a high end menu to small bites. The cauliflower was under cooked. And the drinks have not been consistently good...oh, and a mouse was running loose in the restaurant.🐭🐀🐁
I had to ask the host/waitress for a menu. It took a while to get our food and the bill. The drinks were good. I got the Celia Cruz. The burger was sloppy and didn’t taste the greatest. The fries were good. Overall, I would not come back here again.
Easily the worst service I have experienced in a restaurant in recent memory. Not a single person came to check on our table of 5 after we placed our order, to the point that we went to the bar to order additional drinks. After waiting over an hour, we finally caught someone’s eye and asked about our food, and learned that our order was never entered. Couldn’t tell you how the food was, since we never got it! Not an experience I would recommend.
Made a reservation for New Year's Eve dinner and after a walk in the pouring rain (thunder, lighting, etc.) it became immediately clear that a table had not been reserved for my party. I could even see the manager mouth "Oh shit" when he realized they'd failed to account for our reservation. However, the manager insisted that they had not forgotten our reservation, but that they were getting rid of tables to turn the bar into a club for the evening (even though all the tables were still on the floor and occupied). And if that were the case, I'm baffled that online reservations were allowed since they had no intention of honoring them and that no one called in advance to let us know that they could not hold a table for us because they were going to be clubbing it up. The manager made little effort to accommodate me and my husband and didn't even offer us a drink on the house as an apology. So we left and spent New Year's Eve eating takeout pizza. I will never return to this establishment.
We were excited to see LP open and we were looking forward to their take on simple classics like a smash burger or grilled cheese and tomato soup. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. Could have been an off night, but service missed the mark from the moment we sat down. The food arrived cold, with the previously-melted cheese congealed on our two mains. When we sent it back, the waiter seemed confused, and then brought it back much later, warmed but still not melted. On a number of occasions our food was accidentally placed on the table next to us. Our waiter did appear to acknowledge that things weren’t going well by bringing free fries, but then we realized other tables were getting them as well. The fries were sadly burnt. Finally, one of our mains never came out the kitchen. We left hungry, disappointed, and out $80. The worst part was that no one really noticed or acknowledged that the experience wasn’t going well, despite us sending food back and not getting everything we ordered.
I’ve tried either dining or drinking at Le Pistol four times and it missed the mark each time— 1. I went opening week. The place was buzzing with new, fun energy. On that visit I had drinks and tried their Pork Belly bites and another small plate. The Pork Belly bites were extremely overcooked and the portion was simply too small for the price point. Staff was attentive and the music and vibe were great. 2. Came for brunch one Sunday afternoon and left incredibly hungry. I ordered the classic breakfast that came with ONE sliced strawberry, two pork bites, quarter avocado, dried, bitter blueberries, eggs and toast. Eh. 3. Went for drinks this year and saw a tiny mouse running amok between tables and behind the bar. I pulled a staff member aside to tell him. Not phased and didn’t say anything. I kid you not he simply walked away. Despite my previous experiences, I came here again for the last time. Received no service, though I was sat at a table. I had to go to the bar to try to order my drink and food to try to get serviced. No napkins, cups, or drinking water. I felt people staring at my table and realized that the band was trying to set up. That was my queue to go and never come back.
An extremely unwelcoming and unfriendly environment for people of color. This might be the most unfriendly and rude bar in the neighborhood. As a black person dining here, I was made to feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. Will not be visiting this establishment again. In summary if you are not White, consider taking your support elsewhere in the neighborhood. These people do not like us.
