Miriam Brooklyn Reviews
The big portion sizes fit the Tel Aviv vibe of this restaurant. I loved the burekas and the latkes and the heaping piles of labne. The scrambled eggs were creamy as well and the Israeli salad an excellent complement. I had no room left in my stomach by the end. The clientele is couples and young families so it's a bit cramped but cozy and loving.
There is no greater food in this filthy trash ridden city. Truly if you are visiting New York you must come here and eat this food. It is the best food I had in this city period. It is food that will literally feed your soul it tastes perfect. Everything is seasoned perfectly and everything works together perfectly. Eggs Benedict and French Toast, worth every penny.
Love this place!!! The schnitzel is so great, and the shakshuka was also excellent. The portions are really generous and the food is fresh and authentic.
Overall rating: 4.7 I know this is a brunch spot, but when I went I was indifferent. When my friend suggested we go for dinner, I was a bit hesitant but wanted to try another meal here. To be transparent, when I went.. I was extremely hungover 😅 so I wasn’t even expecting amazing food. However I really liked the food I ordered! It was small portions and felt healthy. I had the Kadaif Wrapped Shrimp & the roasted cauliflower. Omg it was so good! I definitely want to come back now & eat it again. My friend had the Chicken Schnitzel, but the chicken was a little dry. The space is a little tight, but I think I’d come again if I was in the area. The bartender was so nice & very attentive, which I appreciated.
Some of the places i love to go in the weekend Great food always tasty always fresh very nice staff I recommend to go and give it a try in case you are in the park slope area personally i loved the Mediterranean dough and the shnitzel also Moroccan tagine Is delicious, basically everything I tried there was good nothing bad to say about this place… Highly recommended 😋
Great place for brunch. The place is quite popular so best get here earlier. Indoor dining was already pretty full at 11:30. You'll probably have better luck with outdoor seating which did have heating so it doesn't seem too bad. I got the shakshuka that came with 1 pita which wasn't really enough for the amount of stuff it came with. I would suggest getting another order of pita(comes with 2). If you have too much pita you can always steal some food from your friends to use the rest!
Found this place on google maps. They have a great brunch menu! It’s a little expensive, but maybe for NY standards it’s fair. There are a bunch of vegetarian (with egg) options. Not sure about vegan. We got the Jerusalem breakfast and the green shakshuka and absolutely loved it. Also really liked their decor!!
I miss Miriam (from Carroll gardens). It’s nice that they still have the park slope version which always impresses me. Friendly service, high quality food that is consistent and fresh makes the trip extremely worth it! The Mediterranean crispy dough is my favorite! Get there early as it was packed - even at a weekday lunch time.
Wow... great brunch spot. Had been meaning to try after going to the other branches in the city but this one takes the cake. Great portions, great quality and great service. Get here early because it gets busy! Got the cheese sandwich, artichoke halloumi salad, bourekas and herbed scramble and all were great! Will be back.
What a great dinner - I didn’t expect to be so full once leaving. The zartar bread with sauces was the perfect thing to start the meal with along with some tasty entrees to follow. I can’t wait to come back and try a few more options out! I highly recommend a stop here if you’re in the area.
I enjoyed my first brunch since quarantine! Miriam got a very nice patio space. Although it was a bit hectic on Saturday morning and the staff make a couple of mistakes on our order, they correct them very quickly. Hummus, falafel, green shakshuka and fried halloumi were all great! I wish they used the cast iron pan for shakshuka though (the eggs were perfectly poached) and I had to say I like grilled halloumi much better than fried. By the way, we were lucky to get a seat under the shade;)
My hubby and I really enjoyed our brunch at Miriam’s today! A shout out to Lily who was so friendly and welcoming and made our first experience a great one. Our brunch was delicious; I had a latte as well as a mimosa and my hubby had freshly squeezed orange juice. I had the Israeli Breakfast and my hubby had the Mediterranean Crispy dough. Both were yummy! Looking forward to returning soon!
This is one of the most popular spots in 5th Ave with an average 30min wait for a seat for brunch on weekends - worth the wait! Food is always great and served pretty fast. Service is consistently awesome. Outdoor seats available. Chicken Schnitzel is tender and crunchy. Try the Lamb Shawarma too. Burekas were flaky but just ok for me. Also recommend the Shakahuka and Croque Madame from another visit. Had our 1st year anniv dinner here as well and food was wonderful. Don’t forget to checkout the sister resto - Skewers!
What a treat!!! This place was FANTASTIC. The french toast, green shakshuka, potato pancakes, labneh, and mint lemonade were all exceptional. Everything was so delicious!!! I would absolutely come me back here and try everything on the menu. lol service was also wonderful. Highly recommend.
Delicious food and fair pricing, portions are good and service was very nice. Easy spot to go to if you want some tasty Mediterranean food. Located in a fun area with lots more to do. Great date spot or place for a night out
Excellent! We are both vegetarians and we got a few small plates to share because we wanted to try so many different things. Every single dish was exceptional, as was the service! If they have the cannoli, make sure to get it!
Great Mediterranean food, one of the best in the city. Very popular for brunch (for good reason) but also great for takeout or dinner delivery. The interior design is well done and the service is good. Recommend the Mediterranean salad, herbed eggs, Challah French toast and burekas. They have lots of vegetarian options but not many vegan options. Highly recommended!!!
I had an incredible brunch experience at Miriam. The Norwegian eggs I ordered were simply exquisite, and the side of blueberry pancakes was a delightful addition. The cozy ambiance and attentive service added to the overall wonderful time I had. Highly recommended and I’m already looking forward to my next visit!
Growing up on Long Island, any trip into the city usually meant Manhattan or Queens. But recently, I’ve discovered what a gem the area around Prospect Park truly is—filled with charming restaurants and beautiful spots to stroll. One standout is Miriam, a restaurant with an ambiance that’s truly unique. Sitting there feels like being transported to a café in Jerusalem. We went for brunch and had a tough time choosing from all the delicious-sounding options. In the end, we split an order of Burekas and added a side of latkes since we weren’t too hungry. Both dishes were fantastic—flavorful, comforting, and perfectly prepared. Highly recommend checking it out!
I have never been disappointed with a meal at Miriam’s. I would recommend getting a few plates to share because pretty much everything they have is delicious. The hummus is so creamy and the pita served with it is always warm and fluffy. If there is one dish I recommend as a, ‘must get,’ it would be the brussel sprouts. I don’t know what sort of magic they put in them but they are delicious.
What an amazing spot for lunch! The kale salad was amazing (I don’t typically order salads but halloumi cheese is a must)! I loved my french toast with berries and my boyfriend loved his Israeli breakfast. Fresh hibiscus tea, mint lemonade and iced coffee couldn’t have asked for a better started to the day. Our server was very sweet and helpful with the menu! I’ll be back tor sure!
Went this weekend for brunch for the first time. Exceeded my expectations. All the food was outstanding. As was the bloody mary. Highly recommend.
Miriam’s in Park Slope has been a go-to for me for years, and it never disappoints! The food is consistently incredible, and the flavors are always spot-on. Whether it’s their signature shakshuka, fresh salads, or the perfectly seasoned hummus, I’m always impressed with the quality and creativity in every dish. And after years of asking for mayo (yes, you read that right!), they finally added it to the menu—talk about a game changer! It’s like they heard my prayers and answered in the most delicious way possible. Seriously, Miriam’s remains a staple in my dining routine, and I’m so happy it’s as reliable as ever. Highly recommend if you're in the area!
Such an amazing breakfast! Showed up at 9am on a Saturday, just when they open. There wasn't a long line and we sat outdoors (after they checked vaccine cards). We ordered the Israeli breakfast, Jerusalem breakfast, and Potato Pancake. Everything was very delicious and filling, especially for the cost! Great start to the day!
Truly one of my favorite brunch places in the neighborhood. Everything I’ve had is filling without being too heavy and is hangover friendly (esp if you get the dishes with egg in them). I’ve been here now over 5 times and ordered delivery once. Definitely recommend dining in instead of delivery, my only complaint is the pancakes were a little bit dry and the “bagel” tastes a little strange to me (I expected something closer to a traditional bagel though). Everything else I’ve had has been delicious and I would highly recommend to others. Israeli breakfast is my go to. Hope to try dinner options in the future.
What a great spot for brunch. Make sure you make reservations before you go. Order the Challah French Toast!!
I had lamb dish for lunch and it was soooo good. The waitress on that day (1/27/25) was really nice and friendly.
I think the pictures speak for themselves here. We came for brunch and this place hit the spot so nicely. Big portions, tasty, cooked perfectly. We were blown away and need to come back to taste more of their menu. The only dish that was not 100% there was the potato pancake, too oily and a bit charred. Great prices and good service! Will come back!
What a great neighborhood gem. Their brunch options are to die for. Great ambience and food quality, tasty authentic Israeli foods. Thank you so much, we will be back for more. Notice there are two doors - one is for street food and another one for restaurant. Menu is different but experience must be amazing in both.
We made a last minute reservation before a nets game and it was the best decision we ever made. There’s probably nothing bad in the menu, we loved everything we got. Specifically the Brussels sprouts and hummus as appetizers, I could’ve eaten 45 orders of those. The service was so freaking kind, they made suggestions for drinks and cocktails, everything loved them. I will def come back
Miriam is such a great spot. The food is delicious, the portions are generous (perfect for sharing between two), and the flavors are incredible. The pitas are honestly some of the best I’ve had. We tried the chicken shawarma, which was wonderful. It comes with rice and a small Israeli salad, and everything was seasoned beautifully. The service was excellent, super attentive and kind. They also offer special menus for Jewish holidays like Rosh Hashanah, which is a really nice touch. Price-wise, it’s not cheap, but it’s absolutely worth it for the quality. Overall, just a really good restaurant, great food, great service, and one I’d happily come back to once they finish renovating their original location.
Come hungry! Seriously, the portions are generous and delicious. But that doesn’t mean the food isn’t wonderfully prepared and fresh tasting. For the price I’d describe it as a good value and most of the main entrees could be shared (especially with an appetizer). I really want to go back and try more of the dishes…next time I’ll come hungrier! It has a nice cozy ambiance, but not too cramped. Only complaint was the service was sometimes hard to track down (like to grab a new fork or get a water refill).
Came in for a late lunch on a Friday, and we were the only table at that hour and it felt nice and super relaxed. Service was as a result fast and attentive. We got the chicken shawarma and quesadillas, and they were both very tasty. Especially love the quesadillas. The pancake was super crispy and flaky, and kinda tasted like the Chinese scallion pancake. The chicken shawarma has a generous portion and the meat was very flavorful. Great food and will come back.
Such flavorful incredible breakfast! The burekas came with a light crisp fluffy pastry stuffed with tangy olive tapenade—very good—and it was especially good dipped in the labneh (Greek yogurt w/ seasoning). I ordered poached eggs for the eggs and they were great. The falafels, shakshuka, and potato latkes were also all so good! The sweet pear sauce on latkes was new for me but I loved it with just the sour cream. It was so hard to choose items from their menu.
Very nice portions and very flavourful food!! Sat outside and ordered some chicken shawarma and the lamb. Both very flavourful dishes. Shawarma: Just to note the chicken is primarily dark meat. I am ok with that but my mother doesn’t love dark meet and wasn’t able to enjoy. Lamb: More of a Moroccan style. Very good if you like that. Overall would come back!
Incredible gem in park slope, took my partner on a date here yesterday. We had never had Israeli food and everything blew us away. The wrapped shrimp, pomegranate meatballs and the beef shawarma were out of this world. Completely incredible meal, wonderful service and great drinks. We'll be back soon. Please support this spot you won't be disappointed!!
Absolutely delicious, with borekas to die for. You are obligated to get them. The digs are fairly unpretentious and you can’t get reservations (not “won’t”, I mean literally -can’t-). We had a nice range of brunch food on a Saturday and everything was devoured. Not a weak item in the bunch, although I’d love to see even tighter controls on sourcing whenever possible. I noticed they did offer someone else not organic/sustainable condiments when asked. Just a small note. Service is unhurried, very friendly. And it’s well staffed in terms of ratio of staff to diners. The ceramic used on the plates is very high quality and glassware is nice. Napkins / silverware nothing fancy. Highly recommended as some of the best Brooklyn brunch!
Fantastic brunch spot! FOOD: The pita, cheese, eggs, everything tasted fresh and flavorful. I love that the food is vegetarian-friendly. SERVICE: The staff were attentive and friendly. The restaurant got more crowded as we ate but our waiter remained calm and continued to check in on us regularly. COVID PRECAUTIONS: The staff wore masks and checked our vaccination records and ID for indoor seating. The tables had dividers in between them!

SO GOOD!!!! I think about their dip platter once a week. Everything we had there was amazing. They also had really good drinks. Their service was great!
Awesome food! There is usually a little bit of a wait but the food was well worth it! Will be back!
Best meal I've had in years! Our server, Erica, was excellent with her menu and wine suggestions! Just a lovely Valentine's Night.
Amazing Mediterranean food! We especially loved the lamb shawarma, falafel, and pita bread. Top flight food and excellent service on top - highly recommend!

Such a great brunch. The shakshuka, lox sandwich, malawach quesadilla, norwegian eggs and wild mushroom omelettes were so good.

Loved the brunch and really enjoyed the Green Shakshuka and Jerusalem breakfast. So good! Great outdoor space and deliciously different menu.

Miriam is a great vibe with friends or a date. I came for brunch here twice sitting out door the first and indoor the second. You can tell they try their best to meet covid standards with outdoor seating but its still a bit cold so I would definitely recommend coming on a warmer winter day if you plan to sit outside! The food is very good middle eastern breakfast is my absolute favorite!! I would recommend the Jerusalem breakfast and the Yemenite pancake. They can be busy so you’ll most likely be waiting in line but the line is at most 15-20 min on the weekends.
The appetizers at Miriam are well constructed. The falafel I had here was fantastic in flavor and quality. For my main dish I ordered the mushroom asparagus plate. It was good but not out of this world. The servers were attentive and kind. The ambiance and restaurant decoration were very pleasant.
This is a great and cozy place for brunch with an interesting menu. It can be super busy over weekends, especially on Sundays; you need to wait in a long line outside. The staff are nice but a bit slow; the food is amazing and so fresh. Make sure to try Green ShakShuka, Avery delicious dish. Cocktails are not great but Mimosa was good. It has outside seating option as well.
I love this place. It’s been around forever! I loved coming here when I lived in BK and recently gathered friends for some holiday shopping. It’s authentic, welcoming, and delicious but you need to put in your name and come back in an hour (if you are lucky). We snagged some seats at bar after 30min. We still had another 40mins to go for a table. We toasted with Bellinis and hard ginger kombucha (tasted like a cider & similar alcohol content). We opted for classic shakshuka, mushroom omelette, and Israel breakfast. We were all happy with our choices. It’s worth a visit if you are in neighborhood but have a plan so you aren’t surprised by the wait.
We went for a Saturday Brunch around 12:30 pm. This place is always crowded. We had to wait for about 20 mins to get a table. Covid friendly place with small booths for each party. We ordered the green shakshuka (which was ok) but the Cheese stuffed bureka was yummy! Large portions. And the fresh orange juice was yummy.
The food was good. The hummus was especially noteworthy, but the lamb shawarma was just okay, in my opinion. If you're in the area, it could be a good place to eat, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go to that area specifically to eat there, which is what we did.
I don't usually like Mediterranean but holy cow that lamb shawarma was so good 🐑 It was weirdly cinnamony but it somehow worked out so well and that thin crispy bread thing on the top is next level. The calamari and sea bass were ok but that lamb is where it's at! Though I have to say that a major downside to this restaurant is how I had to wait about 1.5 hours for even the appetizer to come...
Came here for a light very late lunch. Staff were attentive. Beautiful place. Nice ambience. Great presentation, quality and quantity of food. I loved the spanakopita (so much flavors and unique) and the falafels. Definitely recommend this. I wasn't a fan of the soup of the day. The hummus was allright, I definitely had better. Overall highly recommend to come and experience this place.
Beautiful, well-appointed place in a nice neighborhood. Really appreciate that they open at 10AM as well for us early diners. Absolutely lovely, delicious food that isn't over-seasoned. Especially impressed that the dressing to salad ratio was spot on - so often, restaurants drown their salads in dressing and make them inedible. Food service is a bit slow and servers seem a little inexperienced. We ordered 2 dishes to stay and eat and 1 to go, requesting that the 1 to go be prepared last so that it would stay fresh and hot longer. That one ended up arriving first and was sitting there in its bag while we waited another 15 mins for our meals to stay.
Me & my husband recently dined at Miriam restaurant and sampled a couple of their lamb shawarma dishes. Unfortunately, the lamb shawarma with rice wasn't to my liking. The meat was a bit burnt, resulting in a bitter taste that overshadowed the dish. On the other hand, the lamb shawarma served with hummus was much better and more enjoyable. The mint lemonade was ok type, nothing extraordinary, but it complemented the meal well enough. I was a bit disappointed to find that the beef shawarma and wrapped prawn, which were available on their earlier menu, are no longer offered. These were dishes I was looking forward to trying. Despite the mixed experience with the food, the service was excellent, and the ambience was delightful. The staff were attentive and friendly.
We have been to Miriam more than a couple of times, mostly for brunch. This location never lets you down and delights you with its consistency. We had a wonderful meal and were stuffed to the brim. For lunch, I'd suggest the chicken shawarma, and for brunch, the french toast. A perk is that they also offer fresh orange juice. If you're in downtown Brooklyn, don't forget to stop by for brunch.
4.5 🌟 Food was really good, a little pricier than we were anticipating, but worth it especially if you have leftovers for the next day. *was able to just get one meze appetizer instead of choosing 3 for $24. Just got the labneh with pita for $10. The Brussel sprouts were delicious, just a kiss of heat, really enjoyed my halloumi salad, and the chicken shawarma was delicious and filling (plenty of food to share or to have for leftovers)
We walked in on a Saturday night at 7.30 PM and was seated at the bar right the way. The restaurant has a friendly local vibe with small table next to each. The problem is I was sitting on one side of the hallway and there’s another table on the other side, making it too narrow so people walking by bumped into my chair. Nevertheless it was a pleasant dining experience. Highly recommend the steak leant, cooked to perfection, it’s both juicy, tender but not much so you can still chew on the meat. Small, cozy restaurant and good vibe
Popular brunch place we visited with friends. Our friends said the menu changed since they had last been. Overall several combinations offered for breakfast but it would be nice if there was one where you could mix and match the egg + simit/pita + side. I tried the avocado sandwich and really enjoyed it although could have used some more pickled onion and tomato could have been a nice addition. My friends had the popular breakfast and the smoked salmon latkes. Generally seemed like the chopped salad was left in varying amounts on everyone's plates, probably an indicator that another side might have been preferred. The kids enjoyed the challah French toast. Had to flag down our server for more coffee. Limited vegan or dairy free options. Menu skews savoury, only the challah French toast is on the sweeter side.
the vibes inside this restaurant are really nice, the servers are very attentive and the food was pretty good! my friend and i absolutely loved the lamb shawarma bowl (i forgot if that was what it was called) but it def filled us up and was extremely delicious. the only bad thing i have to say is the price point, i went in without looking at the menu beforehand and trusted google saying it would be $20-30 pp but its more like $30-50 as their main dishes are more in the 30-50 range and their apps are $20-30, me and my friend ended up splitting the apps and main to save money, but that bowl was worth, would come back js for that bowl.

Great brunch. Ordered 4 entrees including the granola and was happy with all of it. Latte, coffee and wine good. Service good.
The current rendition of this place is decent, considering the other half of the restaurant is being remodeled. The food that they do serve, like meat skewers, falafel are tasty. But you won't write home about it. Currently the bar menu is more extensive than the food menu. Our table shared a bottle of cava rose and this helped perk things up. All in all, you should have an enjoyable experience here, if you keep your expectations limited.
Maybe not a fair review but when I went, I got mostly charred/somewhat burnt food. The sparkling rasberry lemonade was good. The croissant was good. The french toast was okay. The green shasuka was too watery, but the bread that came with was good. The potato pancake was okay, it was more charred/burnt that the other food. The jam spread that comes with it is very good. The eggs benedict was okay, not enough hollandaise sauce though.
Impeccable service. Waiter was very nice and welcoming, gazpacho was greattt, nice nd refreshing with avocado. Green Shashuka was like a roller coaster firework, it started off really aromatic and strong, tasted delicious first bite, but ends with nothing and a bad after taste. Jerusalem bagel was so stale it made my jaw hurt, but our waitress kindly apologized nd took it off our bill and offered a new bagel. Pitabread was nice and warm, and fluffy goodie. I loved the bathroom lock:)
Green Shakshuka is very delicious, served with cheese. Had Home Fries there, and wouldn't recommend that to anyone. Overall not satisfied with there service, it was pretty slow. Had to wait for 15 mins to get our check. Had the service been better, would have given a better review.
We sat for brunch. Ordered the falafel dish, which comes with humus, a bit of chopped salad, tahini and a pita. Only 4 falafels for 23$ is disappointing. We also ordered the traditional Shakshuka, which was only ok. Not tasteful. The tomato sauce was not thick as it should be. We ordered 1 cappuccino and one americano, we were charged $5 each. Outrageous in my opinion. Overall an ok place to try Israeli food, but def not VFM spot

Good food, tasty and okey presentation. Service could be better... friendly stuff but they completely forgot about us the whole service… None came to refill water, they forgot to bring us utilities twice and we waited until someone saw us calling attention from the back, and we wait over 20 min to order dessert… not to say how much we waited for the bill…
Quite disappointed Recommended by a family member and looked really good on Google and once we arrived. Brunch on New Years Eve, not extremely busy and we sat at the bar. Ordered cappuccino which was pretty good. No complaints. Ordered breakfast, eventually. Green shakshuka and Israeli breakfast, with a side of burekas. Food took very long to come out which did make me a little worried, but I did get a baked dish, so no problem. Dishes finally arrived, pita and labne are great, but here the problems start. The green shakshuka was burnt to a crisp. It was black on top, the egg whites like a frittata, and the yolks unrecognizable deep below. Most of the sauce had evaporated leaving a weird green pepper salsa. I was hoping for a unique smokey spicy flavor but it was mostly inedible. Israeli breakfast was better, but then again it's hard to mess up eggs. Potatoes were burnt to a black crisp on one side. The side of burekas was perhaps the most disappointing, when I bit into it I wondered for so long what they're filled with. They fold them so tightly as to almost fool the guest into thinking there's a filling. We couldn't even finish one. Moreover, during our entire meal, no one came to check on us, even though it seemed like there was a manager walking the dining room. Such a shame, very disappointed after being recommend and seeing all the spectacular reviews. Brunch entrees are $18 Burekas a la carte $8 Total was about $58
