Nawabi Bhoj Brooklyn Reviews
The food is soo flavorful and fresh! Best in the area and you can’t beat the lunch box special
Great new authentic Bengali spot. I got the Chicken Thali with a Mango Lassi. Everthing was fresh and tasted amazing. I definitely recommend if you’re in the mood for some good curry or Biryani.
I love the food here. As a Bangladeshi, this is the place I go to for my comfort food. It’s authentic and resembles home cooked food. I love the Kala Bhuna and the beef liver mix. For breakfast, I love their egg fry and paratha combination. For lunch or dinner, I love their meat and rice or roti combination. I have tried other Bengali restaurants, they are good but nawab bhoj is non Americanized and is authentic.
I ordered a lot of food for my office staff lunch from this place, all of them are delicious, I ordered beef biriyani, chicken roast, chicken kebab, chicken tikka, shrimp curry, mixed vegetable curry, mashed potatoes, vegetable samosas, garlic naan for a very affordable price. The portion is generous and all of them are delicious. You can modify the order based on your preference. They also give me pulao rice as complimentary. They also provide all the disposable plates and spoons. I would highly recommend this place.
We had haleem, naan, peyaju here. Yes, the mix is odd, but we wanted to sample. Food was decent. Naan was good and the haleem was just enough spicy/hot. The peyaju (lentil pakora, you might call it..) was tasty. They added crushed tomatoes in the lentil (daal) mix so the taste was slightly tangy, which made it a bit different than other places, but good. The prices were very reasonable. The waiter and the hostess were very welcoming. Our visit was short but I will go back and try their other offerings.
Had a wonderful Lamb tali here. Spice level was right on point, not overwhelming but authentic and delicious. I love that they offer tali in a small size so I can enjoy when solo dining. Also got a dairy dessert that was delicious. Prices were fair and reasonable. They are nice people and take pride in their food, and the atmosphere is great. I highly recommend dining in!
I love this place. Home away from home. They always have a wide variety of Bengali cuisine that I can always choose from. The duck curry with the kholajali roti is outstanding! The staff are kind and hospitable. Their beef kichuri, kachchi, ghonto, liver curry, Kalo bhuna are some of my favourites.
The best Bengali restaurant in NYC! Amazing food and service, I ate here at least 1-2 times a week this last year. Today just came in for some samosas but usually I go for the Khala buna beef, shrimp , chikpeas, lentils, or pumpkin! Biryani & chicken roast is also amazing. Don’t listen to any of the bad reviews this place is a gem in the neighborhood!!!
Excellent quality Bangladeshi food with great atmosphere. Hard to find such combination with affordable pricing. I loved the fish combo - all these at 12 plus the green mango juice was so nostalgic. Would love to come back with friends or family. I don’t see the fish combo in uber eats - hopefully they update soon.
I wanted to share with you my recent dining experience at a cute little restaurant that offers authentic flavors of Bangladesh. This hidden gem not only serves delicious and wide range of pitha, mishti/sweets that are not too sweet, but also caters for large groups exceptionally. During our visit, we tried kichuri (lentil rice) with fried fish and eggplants, sweets, and beef curry. Separately, we catered for a party. The star of the show was the Sagorana platter which was a delightful journey for the taste buds! The platter included rice, whole chicken roast, shrimp, kebab, and red snapper - each dish bursting with authentic flavors. I highly recommend this restaurant for your next get together. Let yourself be transported across the world with their diverse flavor palette. Bon appétit!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND this super cute, cheerful, sparkling clean spot for a Bangladeshi food fix. I picked up a lot of items for my Dad's birthday: two perfectly crisp veg samosa; and gorgeous vegetable preparations--pumpkin (kumro) with nigella seeds; green squash (lau) with tiny shrimp; bitter melon (korola) with julienned potatoes. Two main dishes--carp (rui maach) with tomatoes & onions; goat (kosha) curry; and a couple of desserts--rice pudding with brown sugar (gur'er pyesh); chana jelabi (a sort of fresh cheese lightly fried, submerged in cardamom syrup). Because it was a birthday dinner I went full in 🙂 and spent ~75 bucks for three people (we made several meals out of the leftovers). It's easy to make more modest choices with their meat & veg or all veg plates that come with basmati rice. Or maybe you'd like something lighter like a wrap, with eggs or veg or breakfast meats? The point is there are so many options--the dessert case is PACKED--you'll have plenty to choose from. The staff are very kind and the chef makes everything from scratch, daily. Plus, the venue is spotless. Do yourself a solid and check this place out! You'll be happy you did.
Cool place and good food. Love the lamb, the potatoes and pumpkin! I also had the traditional meal. Don't know what it's called but it was nice and spicy! Great service too. The people are very nice and super honest. Left my credit card, found out 2 days later and I can just pick it up. No issues. Thanks so much.
This is actually my second time coming, I got busy & forgot to review the first time. This time I decided to bring my friend here to kinda celebrate my birthday. She wanted to try some Bangladeshi food, so I thought of this place because first time I came I loved their Moghlai porota. So we ordered moghlai porota, I also wanted her to try the Baby goat Kacchi biriany ! The Moghlai porota was yummy but biriany was just ok. I already tried lots of Kacchi biriany at lots of Bangladeshi restaurants & so far this is the highest I had ever pay! Even the Khalil biriany was cheaper than here! So when I ordered I expected something amazing, but I was highly disappointed! Kinda sad actually! I will come back just for the Moghlai Porota but other food I am not so sure anymore! Service was great, place looks clean, restroom was also clean . Also I wanna add that I really loved the interior of the restaurant, it takes me back home some how!
I ordered dinner from this Bangladeshi restaurant through Uber Eats, excited to try a variety of items from their menu. Unfortunately, one of the dishes I ordered—*Chittoy Pitha* never arrived. Since it was only around $3, I didn’t report it, but a missing item is still a noticeable setback for any restaurant. The Jali Kebab (mutton wrapped in egg fritters) was just okay—the egg coating was falling apart, which took away from the experience. The sautéed vegetables were a bit oily, but they had that homestyle, lightly spiced Bengali flavor I was hoping for. I also tried khola jali pitha, similar to a plain dosa or crepe, which was enjoyable. The Gurer Sandesh was decent—very mildly sweet, and very simple one. The Mughlai Paratha, however, was disappointing. Being from Kolkata, I’m used to a lighter, flakier version, but this one was overly thick, greasy, and heavy. The biggest letdown, though, was the chicken biryani. While I don’t mind Bangladeshi-style biryani being slightly oilier and more aromatic, one piece of chicken was clearly going bad—it smelled off, and I had to throw it out along with the rest of the dish. That made me question the freshness of the food overall. For a restaurant, food safety is non-negotiable. If something isn’t fresh or has spoiled, it should never be sent to a customer. Sadly, this experience left me very disappointed, and I hope they take more care moving forward. I’m surely not going back.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was unacceptable. The food lacked flavor, the portions were small, and our order was incorrect twice. The servers were inattentive, and it took nearly 45 minutes to receive our meals even though the restaurant wasn’t busy. Definitely not coming back
These five star reviews must be fake. These five star reviews must be a darn lie. The food i purchased was horrible It smelled bad It taste bad. There was no condiments for the price that was paid I had chicken briyiani and it was soo nasty I ran in the bathroom to brush my teeth and get the weirdness off. The chicken taste over cooked and undercooked The rice was horrible Everything nasty like stale leftover.
