Nerd Be Cool Brooklyn Reviews
Nerd be Cool has been a favorite of mine since 2018. I fell in love with their mocha—perfectly balanced with rich chocolate and super smooth espresso. They also offer small pastries, fun pantry goods, and delicious, seasonally changing lattes.
such a fun coffee spot! they have some unique lattes here, we loved the golden latte (it reminded me of a chai) and the matcha mango latte. love the drinks here, we’ll definitely be back!
The best espresso AND drip coffee in Brooklyn!!! Plus double + triple shots cost the same. Amazing pastries + unique snacks. They brew strong tea too!!!! A must stop whenever I’m in Brooklyn. Go go go!
Great coffee, pastries are delicious, and friendly service. It’s a nice spot too — good people watching
Got a Shakerato (espresso and condensed milk I think😀). Delicious. Great, friendly service.
Coffee is totally the best in neighbourhood! And tasty coffee cake with blueberry here.
Cool little coffee shop and owner are super nice. Coffee and crossaint are great too
Very nice place with delicious coffee! I love coming here on the weekend and enjoying a spicy latte with a chewy granola bar or a cinnamon donut! I would like to thank Alexandra for her good service! It is very nice to order coffee from such a positive person! Thank you very much, I recommend!
Came in because I needed some caffeine. Little did I know how much coming here would change my day. The person working was so incredibly warm and inviting. It immediately softened my sour mood from being yelled at at work. I ordered a latte and a granola bar. Which were both fantastic. One of the best drinks things was the option to do 2 or 3 espresso shots for the same price. I’m so happy I stopped in, this place made ny whole day so much better
So much cozy goodness and such a small space. So many options and a very diverse and tasty menu. Definitely worth a visit or ten. Everything looks wonderful and will tempt you to try. Seating is limited, but that won't matter because they have a vast array of food and craft items to purchase and you'll probably be busy perusing those while you sip your drink.

Lovely little coffee shop! Owners are very friendly and welcoming, and the coffee is great! Love the decor of the interior as well. Sometimes the music can be a bit loud (I suppose that’s also a very subjective observation and a matter of preference), but aside from that this place is perfect :)
Awesome little coffee shop. Serves all the modern classics, and a few new ones - matcha, espresso tonics, cherry lattes. Beautiful Slayer Espresso machine.

I cant really say that the place would have had an atmosphere. It was a place to get a coffee. That is it. The staff did not greet you when you walk in, there was no smile, no chit chat. There was a couple of chairs to sit on in the back, but the spot was not inviting at all. I asked if there was a restroom, and I got single word answer" No". The latte was given to me without lid nor stirrer. Once I picked it up and held it in my hand, she said:" There are lids" and she pointed to the corner behind her back.

Five stars for the coffee, one star for upcharging a dollar for oat milk. I haven't seen it that high anywhere else, and with Stumptown, Gregory's, Starbucks, and even Dunkin not charging at all, why would I go? And why the premium to begin with? How low-end is the cow's milk they're using if it's THAT much cheaper than the Oatly?
Went in for an espresso. Not sure why everyone defaults double espresso shots. But maybe it’s the way they have their machines programmed. Asked for a short shot of espresso and was given a watery shot with no crema. It was probably actually a double shot because the barista poured half of it out before giving it to me. I just feel like if you’re going to put the word espresso in the name of your place you should make good espresso.

I've been anxious to try their biscoff latte for the longest time now. Let's just say it pissed me off. It tasted like milk only. No form of biscoff flavoring. I figured I'll doctor it up when I got to work. Opened the top and it looks like oil is in it and, all the biscoff was at the bottom. Even after stirring it taste horrible. For Starbucks prices and smaller cups they need to do better. That was a complete waste of almost 7 dollars. The costumer service was great and the place had a nice cozy setting.
Poor rating is mostly due to the matcha latte. It was not mixed properly and had a lot of small granules. Other than that, Espresso was good. Nice plants and art.

Man the service here is disappointing. I came to grab a piece of quiche I ordered after being on a work call for 10 minutes and I asked if the barista could reheat it because it was ice cold. She said it was cold because it had been sitting there for “a really long time”. The time it took her to make my latte (which was really more like watery, bitter coffee?) and bland quiche total of $17 bucks plus tip, probably took at least 5-7 minutes. She reheated it which took about 1 minute total and it was still ice cold. Also served in a white paper bag instead of a plate. She gave me attitude when I asked if there were utensils, and directed me to plastic spoons in a cup that were not easily visible. Why do people get into customer service jobs if they can’t be nice? (Coming from someone who was a server for over a decade). Be nicer!!
Friendly baristas, great selection of baked goods, but the beverages leave a lot to be desired. Twice I’ve come to this shop, ordered an iced matcha, and the matcha was completely milky. For what the cost is (nearly $7), you’d expect it to be somewhat of a vibrant green color, and not a milky olive color.

I ordered a matcha and got grey milk. For over 6 dollars, I’d expect at least some matcha powder. I was planning on sitting inside for a while but the tables are short for the chair height (table is the same height as your knees). Just feels dingy inside with their faux fur for cushions. I expected better from the other reviews. Won’t be going back.
