Omonia Cafe Brooklyn Reviews
Wow!!! This is a beautiful cafe. It is huge inside too! It has a regular bar and a coffee bar. The desserts are endless. My son just moved to Bay Ridge so we stopped by to grab some desserts. I loved my Napoleon, it was perfect. My husband loves Black Forest cake and he said this was the best he’s had. My son had a chocolate lava cake and chocolate covered strawberry. He enjoyed it too. He’s been back since we left. I’ve been telling everyone about this cafe. I’m going back to visit him next month. I will be stopping by a few more times. This place is magical at night. It’s so pretty. The service is awesome too.
This is one of the best cafés in Brooklyn! They offer a great variety of Turkish sweets and an impressive selection of cakes. The food is delicious, the outdoor seating area is lovely, and they’re open late, which is a big plus. Prices are reasonable, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!
My parents love this. Place they love their gyro I personally don't like that gyro. And it's not because the gyro isn't good.I just used to go to another gyro.Place downtown Brooklyn and nothing will ever beat that taste for me.However my parents love it.My boyfriend loved it. The\n Atmosphere is very nice. The staff is wonderful. I got a burger, I know crazy for a gyro place, but that was a very tasty, well cooked burger, along with very tasty fries.
A cozy Greek treasure full of nostalgia and delicious indulgences! I popped into Omonia Cafe on Broadway for a mid-afternoon treat and was immediately charmed by the warm, retro vibe—complete with hanging lights and relaxing outdoor seating that felt like a mini escape. The staff were genuinely friendly and quick to offer suggestions, which is always a plus when the menu is this vast. I ended up ordering a slice of baklava cheesecake (rich, creamy, and fabulously indulgent), plus one of their berry mousse cakes—which wasn’t overly sweet and had a lovely, delicate texture. Both hit the spot perfectly.
We got slices to go but did not sit down to eat. Wished we did because the place is huge. Has a beautiful outdoor space out back that reminds of a vacation affair. It has nice seating inside as well. Somewhat of a romantic place but also family friendly. Pricey but that is expected. The lady at the counter was so nice, gave her suggestions and told us which ones have alcohol since we were obviously Muslim. Appreciated that.
We love coming here after dinner for desserts and cocktails. They open till late and have variety of tasty food , delicious cakes and beautiful vibe. They have little yard in the back, we have a small dog and it was not a problem to go with her. Servers very professional and friendly.
I went in for breakfast this past weekend for the first time. I don't know why it took me so long to check this place out. It is such a sweet cafe with a great assortment of desserts and an even better menu selection, which includes cocktails. The service is really good, the staff is friendly and the establishment is very clean. The banana pancakes I ordered came out fluffy and full of banana flavor. And....I greatly appreciated getting a mojito before 10:am to go with my food. This place is definitely a great spot to get a guick meal, to hang out with friends or just sit and work on your computer while having coffee. I will most certainly come back in the near future.
I've been to their Astoria branch a couple times but this was my first time going to Bay Ridge to try out their Brooklyn branch!\n\nAlways been a cafecito person so of course I ordered their coffee. …

Last time I ordered the chicken wings with sauce. The wings themselves were great, but the sauce had a strange taste and didn’t seem fresh—almost sour. The strawberry cheesecake was very good, but the strawberries on top were not fresh, so I had to throw them away. The puff and the eclairs were normal.
I’ve only had tea there a few times and, while I know this place is more for gatherings with family and friends, I tried to work remotely there, and the wifi is not good. Staff were very friendly. There is plenty of seating, but overall I think the place needs to be remodeled. When you enter, it’s very hard to know where to order. It’s all just one long giant counter where things are not so organized. The back wall of the counter, as soon as you enter on the left, is very messy looking, and reminds me of a hospital or laundromat, with shelves filled with papers or receipts, not sure what exactly. Overall a lot of good space is wasted on poor design. This is such a spacious place and would be a hit if they remodel it to be more efficient and beautiful.
The restaurant/cafe is located in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn. They prepare Greek/American cuisine that is similar to a diner. I ordered the strapatsada which consists of scrambled eggs in a tomato sauce mixed with cheese and topped with olives. This dish comes with a small toasted pita bread but no potatoes. Customers need to pay extra for potatoes. The homemade spinach pie costs more than the regular spinach pie. The vegetable wrap was a nice size with avocado, lettuce and sun-dried tomatoes. The sun-dried tomatoes were difficult to chew. The Cypriot painini consisted basically of ham and cheese. The restaurant/cafe has late hours.

Service always sucks. I'm waiting almost 30 min to be attended to and there's like no one else here. And it's always like this. \n\nFood is pretty good but def overpriced.
The food and the service is a hit or miss. That being said, the BLT wrap is excellent. The texture and flavor makes it one of the best BLT's I've had. Get the pineapple juice with it! \n\nThere's a…

Upon walking in and seeing about 30 feet of glass cases with SO many diff. pastries and cookies, I was so impressed. We ordered 4 diff. types as takeout. Couldn't wait to try them once I got home. Well... VERY disappointing. The TIRAMISU was ruined because use of excessive amount of coffee so strong and soaking the ladyfingers in bottom layer. I have never had coffee running everywhere and so overpowering of the delicious mascarpone cream. The slice of white whipped cream with Almonds is horrible. The whipped cream frosting was hard and dried out, the cake itself tastes weird, like pineapple is added with almonds. Just nit tasty at all. I love almond flavor, this is not even worth eating. The Strawberry shortcake piece had custard filling with little strawberry...this one was pretty good, as was the Napoleon type custard square. Still nothing great but decent. BOTTOMLINE-- looks beautiful in the case, but not worth very good when you eat it. The staff was extremely nice though.
Desserts here is good and all but the SERVICE HERE IS DISGUSTING. No type of customer service whatsoever. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Spinach pie greasy, couldn't eat, coffee not fresh. It's only good thing is the desserts. They need to put more effort into their cooking.

Highly dissatisfied. I dined in with my sister and the waiter only came 3 times in our total stay. 1 when he took our order 2 when he brought utensils and water 3 when he brought the food. Apart from that I had to call him or wave at him to come. Didn’t ask weather we needed anything else at other times. He was by the pastries and on his phone the whole time. Horrible service. We were the only people dinning in.
I ordered online cake and pastry. I completely understand they don't have what i ordered and they bring whatever they want without calling me. I have to throw 60 dollars in the garbage because it was horrible. I called the store and the girl on a phone was so mean.
We’ve given this place multiple chances, but they constantly mess up orders. Items are regularly missing fries with burgers, ice cream for crêpes, etc. When I called about a missing item, I was told, “You’re not expecting me to deliver it, right?” If I didn’t expect to receive it, I wouldn’t have ordered or paid for it. Mistakes once in a while are understandable. Repeated missing food and dismissive responses are not. Save your money and order elsewhere.
Honestly disgusting. Food took forever, I requested chocolate milk for my kids and I barely got a half a cup. It was like a quarter of a cup. I ordered a burger and requested that there is no bun just lettuce and they gave me one tiny leaf of lettuce on the bottom of the burger. The place is overcrowded. Bread is so soggy The food is not good at all. Eggs were very runny and undercooked. Service Took forever. There is only one bathroom in this place and it is so disgusting. They use cheap sausages you get from like the dollar store. This place is mediocre rather go to Roca Café.
