Rocco's Pizza Brooklyn Reviews
Service was great! Young lady manning the counter was energetic and refreshing. The Gluten-Free option is like eating pizza on a wonderfully flat biscuit minus the gluten. And you get a take home pizza cutter. I'd recommend. I'll be back!
I was immediately greeted by the team and Rocco himself! I asked for the smallest slice and was told the grandpa slice would be perfect. I ordered my Margherita pizza for a little over $5 dollars and when it came out of the oven, it was delicious. It didn't make it home and when I have a craving, I'll be back.
Rocco’s on Dekalb is the family-owned pizza joint you want in your neighborhood. Great slices. Real people. Warm service. Truly a cornerstone of the community and a third space where you will run into neighbors from all walks of life, unified by our mutual love for pizza!
Such a great, convenient, neighborhood spot. Pizza is always consistent and good!
Nice small friendly clean and busy environment I’ve been going to them for over 10yrs and never had 1 problem nor complaint they are always professional but friendly as well staff is super thorough and food is always delicious!
Not only some of the best pizza that I’ve had in New York, but also the kindest staff! Praying and wishing for their prosperity forever and ever I love them—AND it’s a family joint
If you want real Brooklyn NYC pizza this is the place to go. I've almost have tried everything and I haven't been disappointed yet. Food is always fresh and you get what you pay for. Not some over price Fancy pizza that taste like cardboard. Rocco's is hands down one of the best pizzas I eaten
hands down the best old school pizza joint in the whole city- but that’s not even what’s greatest about it- besides having an amazing selection of slices and specials (rolls, grandma slices, zeppoles) they literally play the best old school music and it’s just an immaculate vibe. it’s quick and perfectly cooked to crispy nyc standards. also- probably the last place in nyc with a $3 plain slice
A spot that has been consistent with freshness and taste, with others cheating and jipping on product ROCCO Pizza 🍕 is authentically real. The taste is just as good as it was since the first day. I have been coming for over 20 years. ROCCO PIZZA 🍕 has and will always will be the BEST in BROOKLYN. Customer Service is on point, everyone is friendly. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
I'm New York through and through! Though I live in the South now, I know good pizza, Period! My sister and I had regular slices and the grandma slice (Sicilian shape). It was hands down the best slice I have eaten since I was little! I'm 59! I had to get another and almost bought a pie to bring back to NC! Rocco blessed me with a hat, we took pictures, and though I didn't post to IG yet, I plan on shouting him out! I set up restaurants for a living in NYC and across the eastern seaboard at a time, I've eaten at all the top spots. He has everyone beat! Not even a hint of salt from those slices! I can't even explain how delicious they were! Can't wait to go back.
The cashier were fast and friendly there was a lot of different pizzas out ain't know what to get but the cashier was really helpful and knowledgeable about the pizzas..i got buffalo chicken its was loaded with meat the was good and meat lovers what can I say it was crammed pack with meat love it... it only has 3 tables I felt like I had to eat faster.. Plus I love uniforms. it's happened went in today and they had ICEEs
Fast, efficient service--was in and out in under 5. Prices are pretty average. Always love a solid neighborhood pizza spot! The famous grandma slice was not available when I came in. Plain slice: Crust is crisp and flaky on the outside, stretchy on the inside. The cheese and tomato don't stick out flavor-wise...not necessarily a bad thing. It's one of those where all the flavors meld together into one tasty entity. Slightly more herbaceous than the average plain. Well-seasoned. White slice: See above. Mozzarella comes through very rich and savory. Pillows of super sweet, fluffy ricotta float on top, nicely countering the saltiness below. I hit mine with red pepper flakes to wake things up. Delicious! Sicilian: Generous melty stretchy cheese and sauce! Tomato sauce is neutral, neither especially tangy nor sweet. Crust has a beautifully oily crisp outside, and an airy stretchy inside.
I recently visited this local pizza spot, and while I hoped for that classic NY-style pizza experience, it fell a bit short. The service was a letdown, with the staff member taking orders coming off as rude and lacking professionalism, which didn't help the overall atmosphere. As for the pizza itself, it was just okay – not the typical oily and crispy slice you'd expect from a New York pizzeria. Instead, the pizza was somewhat bland and unfortunately had a hard bottom. I wouldn't recommend this place unless it's your last option :(
Their pizza is always solid and I enjoy that. But I often get a ziti. I’m just disappointed. There is no ricotta in it and it’s only half way filled. It’s also like late so I can’t really return it right now. But the staff is always friendly and I usually go to the one on Halsey bc it’s actually closer and they are always 100.
we’ve ordered from them a about 4 times now and we’ve had issues with half the orders. Last time there was no chicken in the pasta with vodka sauce with chicken added (and yes i checked that it was supposed to have chicken) that we paid for. This time we ordered at 8:50 with expected delivery 9:20. We waited 20 minutes last delivery time before calling to check, as it was a friday night, and we were told that the food was ready but it just hadn’t gone out. Roll around to 10:30 and the food shows up PIPPING hot. Definitely JUST made. It would have been more appreciated if they had just been honest and said they missed the order and would prepare it and send it out. It was most upsetting as part of the order was for my 5yo son, who in the meantime fell asleep waiting for his mini personal pizza to arrive. Also the vodka sauce was extremely light, almost looked like queso.
Disappointing service when I went to order a regular slice. First impressions matter, and this one wasn’t good.
I’d urge you to order from anywhere else unless you enjoy wasting your hard earned money. I ordered a Margarita pizza for myself and some friends, and what was dropped off on the floor of my apartment building (there was no phone call/knock on the door to indicate that it had arrived) was an assortment of 4 random cold slices of pizza. I understand that mistakes can happen, but what made this even more egregious was that the pizza was bad. Greasy, stale, and flavorless. When I called the number for the restaurant, I was greeted by an answering machine that said that it would text me a link to dispute my order. I then spent the rest of the night trying to ask a bot for a refund. Shameful.
Rocco Pizza is conveniently located in our neighborhood. They haven’t been our “go-to” pizza spot, but they’re there when we have needed a last minute meal. For starters, there have been 3 separate times that we ordered and found a 3-5inch long black hair in the food. This past Wednesday we had one of those nights where we needed a last minute, low effort dinner. We ordered a plain cheese pie, a Margherita pie, and garlic knots - nothing fancy. While eating the cheese pie we noticed that the bottom of the crust had a few spots that were super charred. I scraped one off and noticed that it had wings. There were flies burnt onto the bottom of our pizza. I almost threw up. Getting a hair in your food is one thing, three times is a lot though…but serving food with flies on it is disgusting. I understand that they have an open brick oven pizza, but for crying out loud they should always make sure it’s clean. We ate roughly half of both pies before noticing how “charred” they were. We are lucky we didn’t get sick after eating God knows how many flies. We will NEVER order from this place again, and I recommend you don’t either. Photos included showing 2 flies for reference.
