The Kettle Black Brooklyn Reviews
My workplace had a christmas party here but the seat per person was $95 dollars but i decided to go with my friends and it was definitely in our budget. We did have to wait to be seated because it was packed, but the cocktails were perfect! The dinner was good as well and the atmosphere is nice, and attentive waitress! I would recommend this place.
Love the wings here and the drinks. Nice relaxing place to hang out. The waitresses and waiters are on point. Plenty of t.v.'s to watch your game of choice.
Absolutely love this spot! The vibe is cozy but lively, and the staff make you feel welcome from the second you walk in. Drinks are on point—creative, strong, and delicious. Perfect place to hang with friends or even just chill solo for a few hours. Can’t recommend it enough, I'll keep coming back here!
Me and my friends came here for the first time last night and it was absolutely amazing. Chris was our server, he gave us great recommendations! Food & drinks came out fast and everything was absolutely delicious! Will definitely have to come back.
The Kettle Black is hands-down one of the best spots I’ve been to recently. The atmosphere is incredible—clean, welcoming, and lively, with great music playing in the background that adds to the experience without overpowering conversation. The food? Absolutely amazing. Their wings are a standout—perfectly cooked, flavorful, and some of the best I’ve ever had. But it doesn’t stop there. The burgers, fries, and quesadillas are just as incredible, each dish cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. On top of all that, the prices are surprisingly reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. Whether you’re grabbing a bite with friends or just looking for a casual night out, The Kettle Black is a must-visit!
Yeah this place has a great vibe. Went early at 3pm because this place can get super packed with hour long wait times. The bar is always busy and tables always have packed with people. I went for the wings and I wasn't disappointed. Ordered 50 wing combination with JD, Great Wall & Sweet Heat. Beer selection was good. Had Purple Haze then Guinness draft. The service was quick. Also try the Texas Dunk with the Au Jus dipping sauce.
I really enjoyed the food but this location was pretty crowded when I went. I don’t want to penalize the restaurant with a bad review because their service and food were worthy of five stars, but also wanted to share my honest experience. there were extremely drunk girls next to us (so close that we couldn’t really go to the bathroom without bumping into them). One of the girls may have been doing drugs in the bathroom from what I overheard in the next stall, she slapped her friend at the table, and she tried to force a young looking waiter to drink alcohol and made him very uncomfortable. Obviously he declined and luckily was able to rush back to work. I went The day after St. Patrick’s Day so maybe they were extra drunk because of that. Overall the restaurant was great if we only consider what was in their control. Their truffle fries, wings, and crazy fries were amazing
The buffalo chicken pizza here is amazing — thin crust, grilled just right, and packed with flavor. Definitely the standout item on the menu. The cocktails, on the other hand, were just okay — nothing out of this world. The vibe is very much a sports bar, and it delivers on that front with lots of energy and TVs everywhere. A great spot if you’re in the mood for wings, pizza and a game.
The bar/restaurant is located in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn. It was established in 2004. They have an additional location in Staten Island. The restaurant prepares American cuisine. Soups, salads, appetizers, burgers, pizza, chicken wings, sandwiches, bowls, entrees, sides and beverages are available. Servers take requests for dining in. Several televisions broadcast sporting events.
We were looking for good wings in the neighborhood and decided to give this place a try. Definitely not disappointed. Hubby and I split a 24 piece boneless order. We did half Buffalo City and half Grandpa Nunzio's which was garlic and parmesan. Both flavors were absolutely delcious and I'd love to try more. We might pop in on one of their wing nights to try different ones. Our kiddo went with the Great Wall for his order and was happy. Loved the bucket of fries, it was a good size and perfect for 3 people. Minor complaint was that the carrot and celery sticks were kinda sad looking and I legit enjoying eating veggie sticks with my wings. I appreciated staff checking on us without being intrusive. They have a decent selection of craft brews and I enjoyed my local choice.
The Kettle Black has an okay selection of wings, bar food and drinks. On my last visit there I had the mac and cheese and my partner had the pizza. The mac and cheese was a bit bland and watery. Drinks were good with a menu of specials. Our server was on time and attentive. Its not a great date location. Their double tables are nestled in the back with a great view of the bathrooms and the kitchen. The bar is certainly the best feature of the place. There's usually a decent crowd of people and a game on. Music was great.
I stopped in with a few of my friends place is nice and the bartender Isabella is the sweetest bartender ever! She makes amazing drinks, remembers your favorite order, and always makes the night feel a little brighter.”
Went yesterday. It was 70 degrees in November, so we sat outside. The fact that we sat outside could have been why everything seemed to take longer. There was a long wait for food, it was more noticeable, because I had not eaten all day. Sitting outside made me less antsy.. Their burgers are good. Sweet potato fries, not so much. I like crispy, crunchy fries and just nah.Haven't tried the wings. Did notice that people hang there for hours, nursing drinks. The rest of the order was blah, average chicken fingers and very strange tasting mac and cheese that was not edible, if you are not tipsy. Plenty of alcohol on tap. Went there mainly to get my daughter a rum and coke. She didn't complain about it. I don't drink so the taste of food matters to me. Next time will probably just order a burger. $50 for the two of us.
I ordered a delivery on a Halloween, that fell on a Thursday so I understand it was busy….. but I have to be honest 1-1/2 is crazy and then the food was lukewarm at that… .i ordered The Delmonico steak sandwich and every single bite had fat, cartlidge and every other non-chewable piece, photos included. I also ordered 24 wings w/ bone in and they have me 3 SMALL carrot sticks & 3 SMALL celery sticks… PATHETIC
Awesome place to talk and eat. Edit 23/05/2023: I decided to return to the place with my family, my sister, my mother and my grandmother. This time the treatment was different and it was not pleasant at all. the guy who keeps the list of customers who are waiting for a table, people passed in front of us. After several times asking for our table, the boy spoke to us very badly with a rather high tone of voice. between him and the bartender they were laughing at the situation and my family and I felt very offended. We just wanted to know the status of the table, nothing more, we didn't want problems. We are customers of that place and we would never do anything out of place. in the end, the bartender threw us the bill on the bar without looking at us. We pay the bill with all possible education and we left the place. Really, I think there were preferences when taking the client list pending for a table and it felt a little racist on their part, perhaps because we were not born in the United States with a fluent English language. notice that my grandmother was present and we had more than 1 hour and 40 minutes waiting. I will think twice before visiting the place again because of the bad experience. I hope that others do not experience this unpleasant situation.
Had a reservation, then was told by the waiter there was no reservation. Another waiter sat us down, then we sat at the table for ALMOST AN HOUR before I asked the head waiter what is going on because we had not gotten any menus, water, napkins, etc. He completely ignored us. They were not busy. There were maybe three other tables at most. All around the service was atrocious and the staff seemed rather confused 100% of the time. Took almost three hours to get food.
I have ordered three times now, each time worse than the time before. I always order a burger medium rare. Every time it arrived it well-done. This last time, it arrived very quickly, but the fries were soggy and seemingly undercooked, the bun, broken apart and the wings completely dried out. Literally some of the worst food I’ve had lately. I mean if you can’t cook a burger right… Mayeb it’s better when you don’t in. It the delivery definitely sucks.
