Pho 54 Buffalo Reviews
We ordered using the app and delayed pickup for an hour. Our order was for pickup, not eat in. When we arrived, or order was ready, the food was hot and delicious and exactly as specified. We had 2 peiple who are highly allergic to gluten and their gluten free orders were excellent.
Ordered takeout from this place yesterday for the first time and was very pleased with everything I ordered! The Big B special was huge! Very fresh ingredients and super tasty.
I’m so happy we found this place! As an alum of the University at Buffalo, I was back for just one day to visit with my rising senior daughter as she checked out the university. We needed a place to eat and, luckily, we were staying right next to this gem of a restaurant. I highly recommend it! The staff was attentive to all of our special instructions, the food was absolutely fantastic, and the prices were very fair. A great experience all around!
Feels very warm and welcoming, the waiter was alone but he still helped and checked up on us every few minutes, the food was spicey but tasted amazing, and the cherry on top; the prices are very convenient, the bill came much less than we thought it might be. Came as a group of 7 people and enjoyed it a lot! Thank you so much
7 of us came late 1 night and glad we did. We stayed passed closing hours as we were catching up and lost track of time but we kindly given our time and space. Good was good and service was exceptional. We don't live in Buffalo, far from it but if we come backs we would come back here. Clean spacious space too. Really enjoyed the calamari. Nicely done with the light batter. Everything was very good
We ordered food for a large group. We all got a variety of items. EVERYONE LOVED IT! This is our new favorite Sunday lunch spot! Great job Pho 54! I had the green curry, my wife got the Thai fried rice, and Thai rolls. It all looks and tastes so fresh! I am so glad we stumbled on this place :) maybe they’ll be able to deliver to my house for the bills games in the future!
Veg pho was Good, I wish the cutlery was neat and clean . Especially the plastic soup spoons had dried gunk struck.
Delicious food, but small and horrible portions for a decent $15-$18. Had an issue where they took gratuity fees and tips without me consenting but other than that, I believe it was all confusion due to a language barrier, so I will not dwell upon it. Will be disputing it with my bank.
Vietnamese restaurant in close proximity to University of Buffalo. My son is now a student there, so will probably frequent this place often. The prices here are fair and the portions are well sized. On the morning we went, lots of things were not available, but I am keen to try their curry soup. We ordered the large size Pho, the laab salad and Pad Thai, all very decent and good. Bring cash, as credit card purchases have a fee.
Food 4 | Service 5 | Atmosphere 3 Ordered the summer roll and pho bo. The summer roll was good with chicken and shrimp, no complaint at all. The pho was mediocre, there are too much noodles but not enough beef and others. The soup is just okay. For $14, I did expect a bit more! The atmosphere is missing! Somehow felt like in a hot pot restaurant because of the hot plate on the table.
Arrived at around 10pm on Friday night (12 Jul). Originally wanted pho and given the name of the restaurant, I thought they only served Vietnamese cuisine. It's a pretty broad menu with thai and sushi dishes as well. Not as many pho options as I hoped. Ordered Pad Thai with shrimp, it had decent flavouring and good portion size. I kept biting into an ingredient that was waaay too salty, couldn't place it though (might've been the scrambled egg). The red curry tasted like a mild version of an East Indian curry dish, good portion though.
I had the Pho with thin beef and the Vietnamese style meatballs. Overall it was average. The distinctive Pho flavoring tasted just a little watered down. Still good. Still obviously Pho, but not what I expected. The meatballs were thinly sliced which I didn’t expect. As I said before - still good. One thing that surprised me was the spring rolls. What they call a spring roll is an egg roll. If you want a Vietnamese spring roll - you will need to order a summer roll. Anyhow, their “egg rolls” were good. Just order spring rolls to get them. The server guy was outstanding. He was answering the phone, handling takeout and waiting tables. He did everything with patience and professionalism.
The restaurant was clean and nice looking once you walk in. We didn't have to wait and we got to pick our seat. We were the only ones in the restaurant. They really didn't have people coming to dine in but they had a lot of people coming in to pick up orders. The waitress brought us one glass each of water when we sat down. After that they didn't ask if we wanted other drinks and they never once came around for refills. We ordered yellow curry, sizzling duck, two different types of fried rice, and the fried banana for dessert. My daughter ordered the yellow curry spicy and it wasn't spicy at all. Next time she'll have to ask for Asian spicy to see if that makes a difference (that's what they title the hottest heat level for their food). We also ordered the dessert to come at the same time as the dinner and they forgot. We had to go to the counter after fifteen minutes of them serving the good to ask if it was coming. If you plan to eat here make sure you have extra time as it takes a while for the food to come out. They also didn't check in on us once to see if we needed anything, to see if we were happy with the food, etc. Lastly, we ordered the fried banana. We never said we wanted it with coconut and it came covered in it. If you don't like coconut.... Which my daughter didn't....you'll understand why it was super disappointing to get this and she couldn't finish it.
I'll start with the good--the food was great! But that's only one part of many that go into a dining experience. We got there close to 1pm and there was only a couple other diners there. We ordered 2 appetizers and 2 pho. The appetizers were wrong--we ordered chicken summer rolls but we got shrimp. We ate them anyways. Several minutes later our pho came out--and it was wrong too! We ordered chicken and got beef. That tripe floating in there was not appetizing. We called the waiter back and he stated it was for "a different table" and took them away. We had to wait much longer for our chicken pho to come out and by then we were pressed for time and had to take it with us. He did take a few dollars off for the inconveniences, thus the 3 stars. Disappointing experience.
I got sushi and so did my friend and both were pretty mid and for the price is kinda disappointing. I’ve had better that were way cheaper. And the water that was served to me the cup wasn’t even washed so there were lipstick marks still on the cup.
Nastiest Bahn mi I have ever tried, it’s criminal to even call it that. If you’re looking for bahn mi- don’t waste your hopes, time, and money here. If you want good pho, go to Red Pepper!! They never disappoint
Hygiene questionable. I wish I read some reviews before arriving here. Our waiter never checked in on us and we had to ask for water repeatedly. The server also forgot to place my order. My family of 5 finished eating and the check was going to be dropped off if I did not say something. The server realized he didn't place my order in the kitchen. When my dinner finally arrived, there was a thick curly hair placed right on top. Edited for grammar
