Tipico Coffee Buffalo Reviews
What a lovely place to start your day. Had a cold brew and muffin (both delish) and the vibes were just wonderful.
The coffee and food are always good at Tipico! It's a great place to hang out too. Love the breakfast sandwich.
Some of the best coffee in buffalo, of course. And the food is excellent. Great location as well. One complaint- all these different beans on the wall and I can't try them. Would love if I could order a pourover of any of the beans in stock
Great cup of coffee, sandwiches, treats with an emphasis on the character of the coffee itself, as opposed to simply roasting dark and pushing sugar (as chain shops do.) Local business at its' best, where quality is the hallmark. The co-owners are well traveled and by most metrics, as interesting as you may find. Pete looks at the bean as similar to a wine, with all the tasting notes and nuances.
Love their coffee! I was sad they stopped selling the breakfast empanadas, because they were amazing. Still one of my go-to coffee shops
Amazing coffee, excellent atmosphere. The staff is so friendly, the food is delicious, and there is seating both inside and out. This is my favorite place to sip a cappuccino while studying.
Great specialty coffee, really cool seating area at the bar. Yummy breakfast, too.
One of the best lattes in the city! The ambiance and people are equally great! Highly suggest
I’ve always have a great experience when I order here, the coffee is delicious and the food is great quality. Definitely recommend!
I love everything about this place -- the warm welcomes, inviting atmosphere, and without a doubt some of the best roasts in the region.
Love the coffee, love the people, and love the food! and there was recently a special named The Katie after my wife and her modifications to a breakfast sandwich special
Great quality beans, some of the best in Buffalo. Excellent customer service ordering online, as well as in person. The drinks are also great and the deck seating is so nice!
Delicious food, the seasonal offerings are always fun. Love grabbing a cup here!
Food is fresh, made with love and delicious. Service is friendly, patient, and helpful. Atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming.
We were staying at an Air BNB next door and decided to stop in. Very welcoming staff, quick service and some of the best coffee we have had! We also ordered the breakfast burrito, which was amazing! Thanks for providing an exceptional experience!
Everything is on point here. But for as good as the coffee and food are, the atmosphere is still calm and welcoming. A great place for a date or just to get a very good cup of coffee. Or espresso. Or cappuccino.
What a great addition to the Elmwood Village this coffee shop is! I just stopped in while out for a walk and had a delicious pumpkin latte. Tipico is so welcoming and immaculate. I will definitely return!!
Great local coffee shop I enjoy patronizing. Their coffee beans are also worth bringing home. Fav drink: coco cold brew :)
The most consistent and amazing coffee you'll find in Buffalo. The baristas here really know what they're doing and they're always very friendly. Love love love. I wish I could give them 10 stars!
Honey bun latte is delicious and the atmosphere is super cute
I’ve followed Tipico coffee since the time they first opened down the street from D’Youville. I love how they’ve evolved over the years. Their house coffee is always so delicious. I lean toward Lavendar lattes and theirs is fantastic every time. Their breakfast sandwich is great too! Staff is always friendly.
Very cool spot. I will also buy bags of beans and they will grind them right there for you. Even down to the narrow specifications that I request…lol. I’ve recently switched to decaf and their decaf is the best that I’ve found in the area.
Drinks...amazing. Food...amazing. Servous...outstanding! Their mint lemonade is so refreshing and when I asked to add half their elderflower hibiscus tea to it....Game Changer!!!
Some of the best specialty coffee in Buffalo. The food is always great and baked goods sourced from the best, folks are friendly, and the atmosphere is lovely in warm or cold weather.
A welcome addition to Elmwood. Amazing coffees and friendly staff.
Tipico is a lovely atmosphere, with the friendliest staff, and they serve the best cold brew. I've only had a limited offering when it comes to food, but I LOVE the avocado toast. they also have a great star rewards program through cashapp. there are a lot of great cafes in Buffalo, and Tipico stands out.
I have been a fan since they opened on Fargo Ave. I love the Subscription service getting a fresh bag delivered to my house every month! But I also go to the cafe for a cappuccino and a cinnamon bun...mmm...
This is the best coffee place in Buffalo, hands down. The baristas here are excellent, and the coffee is always extraordinary. The food is top notch and the atmosphere is so warm and welcoming. If I could come here every day, I would.
We were passing through the area and popped into this cafe, so glad we did!! The friendly service and recommendations were fantastic, I had a creamsicle latte and wow it was outstanding!! Thank you, we will definitely be back!
Super cute coffee shop! Food is delicious, and the pull a mean espresso. Get the Ricotta toast, and also try a nutmeg vanilla latte while you’re there. They have dopest dough breads so that makes it even better!!
Tipico is one of the best cafes in Buffalo - friendly people, excellent coffee and food, and a good place to chat or sit and read or work.
Cute & clean. Cold brew coffee was 🔥🔥🔥. Front had an adorable porch and then garden sitting area. Could have benefited from some background music and shade out front, but overall highly recommend!
One of my favorite coffee shops around
I love Tipico and its coffee. The variety and quality of its beans are exceptional. The baristas are very knowledgeable and brew lovely cups of java.
Tipico Coffee is an adorable little space. The barista and staff were lovely and the food was absolutely fantastic. I enjoyed the vegetarian breakfast burrito with homemade habenero espresso hot sauce (chefs kiss) and a delicious autumnal latte. I will definitely be back!
Love the coffee here. Best beans in town in my opinion. I buy the coordinates espresso beans for my home machine.
Such a lovely space and perfect addition to Elmwood Ave - bright, clean and wonderful front porch when the weather is agreeable - A great place for a coffee and a chat!
Without a doubt my favorite coffee shop in Buffalo!!! Cute atmosphere, friendly staff, great coffee, and solid food. I really appreciate that they have several tasty vegan options and whenever they change the menu they make sure to always have some!! I also SUPER appreciate that if you dine in, they serve your coffee/latte in a ceramic mug. My pet peeve is when coffee shops serve your drink in throwaway cups even if you're staying there! It's so wasteful and is just not as nice of an experience. My only wish is that they would stay open a little later than 3 pm, which is when most coffee shops in Buffalo seem to close. Other than that this place is perfect!
Stopped in here twice while in town for the weekend. The pumpkin butter latte was amazing!
Great spot for coffee and bagels! Everything was excellent. Great atmosphere and couldn’t ask for better service. I’m from out of town and accidentally left my credit card there. The staff were nice enough to ship it back to me. Free of charge. I will definitely be going there again when I’m in town.
Fabulous pourover! They must dial in the beans each day because the HONDURAS JORGE PORTILLO NATURAL had the perfect funky, fruity, sweetness. I can't wait to try it as an espresso.
Tipico has recently become my favorite coffee place in all of WNY! The quality of the coffee is amazing and all of the workers are so friendly! I love supporting Tipico keep up the great work :)
Their cold brew is some of the best around, especially with the house-made coconut milk!! Their coffee beans are great as well I love buying them as a gift for the coffee lovers in my life!
Their coffee is some of the best in town, without a doubt. Love the menu options - it's enough variety of small-batch, high quality items to feel like you can easily grab a bite to go along with your coffee.
a wonderful little cafe in elmwood. great tea and coffee, kind servers, and a super cozy place for a rainy day. my everything bagel breakfast sandwich was unbelievable, and the earl grey latte w/ nutmeg vanilla was just scrumptious. highly recommend !
My daughter and I had such a great meal here! The staff was the best and everything was so good. Delicious coffee. The bagels are so soft and fluffy! The breakfast burrito was also amazing! Bought some of the sea salt chocolate chip cookies to bring home and ate them immediately.
Great coffee! Solid espresso as a base for any drink. They definitely know what they're talking about and are all about making the customer happy with what they get. They serve food all day and their breakfast is filling. They make a really good Undertow for that quick jolt of espresso with with smooth taste as well. Highly recommend Tipico Coffee because this place is not just a typical coffee shop. This will be my go-to place while I'm in the Buffalo-Niagara area.
Great friendly service and beautifully decorated space. Only ordered coffee.
One of my favorites in Buffalo. Always feels bright and the coffee never disappoints. Easy to tell Tipico really cares about the growers and providing folks with a convivial spot to chill, work, socialize.
Great place to stop for an afternoon latte - iced or hot. The staff are warm, welcoming and happy to take your order then craft you a delicious beverage. Sammies & cookies are delish!
Best coffee in Buffalo. They make a mean iced latte with house-made syrup. I don’t mind paying a premium if it means delicious coffee. They really know their stuff.
Tipico Coffee Tipico is one of the best specialty coffee spots in Buffalo. A clean, modern space and consistently excellent espresso. I’ve been using their Coordinates espresso at home, and it pulls beautifully. It’s easy to dial in and works just as well for straight shots as it does for lattes. If you care about quality beans and precise coffee, Tipico is hard to beat.
I love the burrito, it’s so good. The coffee is also great, we buy the beans every time we go and make it at home. Highly recommend, it’s my favorite coffee shop in Buffalo
Gladly, I had a terrific experience. The people behind the counter were friendly and the entire restaurant was pretty welcoming. I left with a nice Burrito and a latte (Samoa latte, highly recommend). I am in my 30s, well dressed and well spoken and typically respectes😉
Delicious but limited food items. Highly recommend the Cold Brew Coco (colb brew with coconut milk and simple syrup).
The two times I went, as it was right near out Airbnb were great, ordered the honey bun latte hot twice. Tasted the same each time. Thats a sign of good baristas as it was two different ones. The egg sandwich was good. Better then Tim Hortons. [Not hard to beat] the second time the bagel was good nothing special. The blueberry cream cheese is worth it and I dont do blueberries. So thats telling!! The inside is cramped. It rained one day so outside wasnt an option. The deck above them isnt waterproofed so the rain falls through the deck boards otherwise id have eaten outside for elbow room. 10 for 10 will stop again if ever in Elmwood again.
Let me tell you - the stools at the bar style seating area have impeccable swivel. Amazing ball bearings with a ton of inertia. Made my inner child happy. Also, my iced latte was delicious. Great little spot.
Best coffee in Buffalo. They source good beans and roast them properly. (So good). Everything bagel is damn good as well. Friendly staff, (which is always appreciated). I find it inconvenient ,that weekend hours that they open at 8am , but maybe thats why the staff are so friendly. The location is a fun part of Buffalo, the Elmwood Village. I love this place.
This cute coffee shop is clean, bright, and very unique! The blue counters pair well with the branding, however the highlight is the delicious coffee that is sourced directly from Costa Rica. They are in direct trade with a family in Costa Rica who grows the beans themselves! Staff is very friendly and fast to provide you service. I enjoyed the maple and brown sugar overnight oats, along with one of the many specials, the maple bun latte. Overall I had a great experience and plan to return to Tipico for breakfast and coffee in the future!
I'm sad I slept on this place for so long. Living in Elmwood Village you get spoiled by all the coffee shop options and I overlooked this one for far too long. Tipico has quickly become one of my fast favorites. Delicious cold brew, nice and spicy chai lattes, and an excellent bagel breakfast sandwich.
I absolutely loved this place! If I lived closer I probably would frequent here weekly just for the atmosphere this place provides alone. Try out their The Pickle Pig sandwich with they're freshly brewed coffee. So good. Relax inside or on their patio. Really you can't go wrong here.
Wonderful little coffee shop! I'm in town for the holidays & anytime I travel I'll try to find local coffee. This place was awesome! Easy to order ahead online & food/drinks were ready exactly when they said they would be. Staff was very pleasant & helpful. Tried out the vegetarian breakfast burrito, which was quite delicious. Grabbed a few cans of their snapchilled coffee for the next morning. A little pricey, but they were also really good!! Definitely recommend giving this place a try.
The food and the drinks here were very good but I was a little disappointed in the service. The girl who took my order was very nice and I do understand if it was a mistake due to there being a verbal altercation with the baristas and a homeless individual who was disturbing them. I had ordered a 16oz drink and only received a 12oz and when trying to alert someone about it, I was ignored. After a few minutes we had just decided to leave because it seemed like I wasn’t going to receive any further assistance from there. I was a little disappointed since this was my first time here and I do hope the next time I come in I have a better experience.
Nice spot to have avocado toast and a small Tea! Invited my Zumba Sister to an afternoon tea and enjoy the sunshine day! The toast was tasty and how could you go wrong with a fresh brewed hibiscus tea on a late summer afternoon . Last few days of summer to eat out on the patio. Pricing was $11 not too high but blessed to be able to afford it these days!🥹
I think they all woke up on the wrong side of the bed. What ever happened to saying “Good Morning”. We did not have breakfast. $8 empanadas sounded good. But kinda pricey I think. Coffee was great. Small portion of cappuccino. Js.
nice cafe. nice atmosphere. cappucino i had in the shop was good.I bought the coordinates espresso blend beans which was a total disappointment compared to the other espresso blends i had used from other roasteries. coordinates blend lacked a punch for espresso plus i didn't taste the chocolate undertones either. It was ok on the pour over brew. For 16 dollars(12oz) it is not worth it.
One of my favourite coffee places in Buffalo. It’s right near the bridge to the boarder, so we always stop here on our way back to Ontario. They have all of your standard coffee drinks but I always order mine with the alt milk that is made in house for an extra charge. There are some food items you can order like raisin toast with maple butter. Their beans are for sale as well. It’s a real neighbourhood coffee shop and a really cool experience.
Tipico is a great cafe, but their roasted beans aren't worth buying. Opinions vary on how long beans should degas after being roasted but the stuff on their shelves has been sitting too long. It's been typical to see beans roasted 10 days earlier & sometimes more than 2 weeks. Sadly, if you care about quality beans your best option is not in Buffalo. I get great beans from a roaster in Erie, PA & they arrive via parcel plus mail just 2-3 days after being roasted. Even with shipping the cost is less than Tipico charges for beans that are past their prime. Local bakeries deliver fresh bread to the coop daily -- there's no reason Tipico can't do better. It's a scheduling problem & they could easily solve it by roasting fewer beans at a time & roasting more often. So: 5 stars for the cafe & 3 for the beans.
Used to love this place at the old location. Now it's very very expensive and the staff isn't as nice as they used to be. The smallest sandwich I've ever eaten was great but 8dollars. I asked for a splash of oat milk in my hot coffee and I got charged 1 dollar. For a splash. I can't afford to go here anymore.
Inconsistent, but when the coffee is good it’s really really good. Hit or miss depending on the day or barista. Beans are great. Overall recommend but don’t be surprised if your coffee is lukewarm
Would love to sit and work at this place more often but they play the music way too loud and I can't think. Coffee is meh
While serving customers the barista sneezed into his hand, wiped his hand on a paper towel and went back to making drinks without washing their hands
Maybe the coffee is good but the burritos are mid. For context i got the chorizo breakfast burrito. I like the concept of but i feel like it misses a bit. The burrito i got had an overpowering herb flavor. Also the texture is strange. You have this really crunchy wrap but inside is just a mush. Its a combination of egg, pumpkin, beans, onions, cheese and corn (i think). Idk im not a pro but i wish it had like rice or something with texture. Maybe potatoes or rice? Also its kinda weird to order psychologically because chorizo is an addition to the vegan burrito . I dont know if its by design so that more people try vegan options but ill see that its vegan but idk whats reallly in it and assume its not enough. Feels like i have to go for chorizo
We stumbled across this cafe today for brunch, we ordered a vanilla latte, hot chocolate, breakfast BEC, and breakfast wrap. The latte was good, the hot chocolate tasted like straight milk and was watered down there was no chocolate. The BEC was good, the bagel was soft and fresh. The breakfast wrap was amazing. Our biggest issue was the hot chocolate and the fact that there no seats. Understanding it is a smaller shop, it was very crowded since it was cold outside and some people were forced to sit outside
I wish they didn't charge almost $9 for a latte! My purple chai (just add some blueberry syrup) was like $8.95. Come on guys it's just a latte. A good chicken sandwich costs that much. $7 just for a bagel?? This is crazy. Bagel & some butter or cheese is $4. The staff never smiles. The newest guy working there seems to hate his job. Good luck
Food average at best. Breakfast burrito was still cold inside. Barista was super slow, didn't get drinks until after the meal
I am sorry but we couldn’t like this place. My cappuccino had zero foam, it was like latte. The avocado toast was below average. The muffin we got was raw in the center. I believe there are better coffee houses to visit in the city. I am giving 2 stars for the effort of the staff.
The food, the beverages, and atmosphere are amazing. Sadly, service is terribly slow in the morning. For people that are on their way to work, waiting 15 minutes (with only one person in front of me) is far too long.
Very slow service, they didn’t heat the bread pudding or even offered to, took over half an hour in 2 sanwiches, and it wasn’t even that busy. I think they were prioritizing doordash orders. They took 18 minutes in getting our iced lattes. The sandwiches tasted good and the coffee was ok too.
Had chai latte with blueberry flavor. It was really good but make sure you alter the sugar. Mine was good but turned out a bit sweet. I could have told them to reduce that . I forgot We ordered bagels with all cream cheese types. They are okay but heavily overpriced. I feel a $7 bagel should be something really outstanding but unfortunately it's nothing special. At least for us. Well we wanted to try local and we don't regret trying. Folks there are super friendly though.
If I could give 0 stars, I would. The guy who was making food on the grill on Saturday's morning was extremely rude to us. He became offended before even talking to us, and his attitude was extremely disrespectful, there was no apologize. The food and the environment is great, that's why we came here. But never again because of this, sorry.
I decided to go try this place out while in town during my husbands surgery. The first young gentlemen who took care of my and took my order was very nice. Sat down at a table to wait for my food and feed my 10 month old as an older gentlemen walked past me as I was sitting in an area by myself I heard him say to me “no outside food or drinks aloud in here” I was honestly surprised to hear him say that, as I was feeding my 10 month old his oatmeal. Once I got my food I took a couple of bites and decided to leave as I felt unwelcome after hearing that comment. As a business owner myself I would never make a customer feel that way at my own coffee shop, I would be extremely embarrassed to say something like that to them.
Sadly, I had a horrific experience here. The guys behind the counter were fine but I got ganged up on from the entire restaurant. I left nearly in tears. There were two people in front of me when I ordered. So I assumed it would be a few minute wait. No problem. But 15 minutes later, having to be at an event and knowing now I’d be late, I asked how long it would still be. He said you are next. Another several minutes go by and I said I had to go as I needed to be somewhere could I get my $10 back and I’d be on my way. I then got people shouting at me to go somewhere else, another person said I should leave because I’m making the other people uncomfortable and as I finally left, someone yells out don’t come back. I’m appalled. This must be some cult gathering. I’m from Toronto, in Buffalo for a wedding. I’m in my 50’s, well dressed and well spoken and typically respected. This was the most appalling experience ever. The people working there should say something to these customers. I’ll certainly never be back. All I did was say I needed to be somewhere and could I get my money back and I’d go without the coffees. A big zero stars for this place
