Black Elephant Coffee Burbank Reviews
Stumbled across this place while going on a walk on Mongolia. Beautiful inside, didn’t go on a too busy of a time so was able to chill in the couch seating they have. The baristas were able to recommend drinks to me. I tried the Charcoal Rose Latte (made it half sweet) and it was so good. Very refreshing and a different drink I have never tried before. So many drinks to choose from! Would definitely come in again!
This is my favorite place to drink matcha, it is the best taste ever - strong and very high quality. I especially recommend “Rose Matcha Latte” with rose petals on top and “Lavender Matcha Latte”, also the “Sage Ham & Cheese Croissant” is great!
Love the vibe here! Right off Magnolia, this coffee shop has beautiful indoor and outdoor design. If it wasn’t so cold outside, I would’ve enjoyed breakfast on their succulent-lined patio. Long line but fast and efficient, you can tell lots of locals go here. While I was briefly waiting for my americano, i was enjoying all the artwork on the walls. Cool spot, highly recommend you try their brew!
Small shop, good espresso. And I adore elephants. A great stop and not too far from Porto’s if you don’t feel like dealing with the crowds. I did pay $7.50 for a small coffee with oat milk tho. They have vegan and gluten free options.
Black Elephant Coffee in Burbank is a hidden gem that proves good things come in small packages. This charming little coffee shop may be compact, but it packs a serious punch when it comes to flavor. From the moment you step inside, the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee welcomes you, and it’s clear why this place is always buzzing with energy. The coffee here is nothing short of exceptional. Each cup is crafted with care, showcasing the quality of their beans and the skill of their baristas. Whether you’re a fan of a classic espresso, a creamy latte, or a perfectly balanced pour-over, Black Elephant delivers some of the most delicious coffee you’ll find in Burbank. It’s the kind of coffee that makes you pause and savor every sip. And let’s not forget about their croissants—absolute perfection. Flaky, buttery, and baked to golden perfection, they’re the ideal companion to your coffee. Whether you go for a plain croissant or one of their filled varieties, you’re in for a treat. The combination of their coffee and pastries is simply irresistible. The only downside? The shop’s popularity means it can get pretty crowded, especially during peak hours. But honestly, the slight hustle and bustle are a testament to how good this place is. It’s worth waiting a few extra minutes for coffee and croissants of this caliber. In short, Black Elephant Coffee is a must-visit for any coffee lover in Burbank. It’s small, it’s cozy, and it’s always busy—but that’s just part of its charm. The quality of their coffee and croissants makes it a standout spot, and it’s easy to see why locals keep coming back for more. Don’t miss out on this little slice of coffee heaven!
Nothing beats a local coffee shop with character. Price is reasonable and the nitro cold brew is smooth. They have several coffee options and flavors. Definitely worth a try if your a coffee connoisseur. 💪
My favorite spot to get Stumptown nitro cold brew in Burbank. Great seating area outside and quick service!
I love the chai latte here. I get it with almond milk and it is the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. They have a mushroom coffee that's surprisingly very good too. The service here is really what keeps me coming back though. Everyone is super friendly and make things exactly how I like.. especially Tyler. He always knows my order and gives me a good fist bump. 👊
I really love this cute little coffee shop. The drinks are delicious and the staff is incredibly friendly. They have a little patio that I love because it’s not on the main road. It’s the perfect spot to relax with friends or get some work done. Highly recommend!
Fantastic!! I got the Sage Ham and Cheese croissant and a Mexican mocha, both were amazing!!! Staff was kind and friendly, giving me great places to go while I'm visiting! Recommend this cute little place!

The coffee always hits and the Chocolate Banana loaf is amazing! What a cute and friendly place. Will come back ☺️
Fantastic drinks, tasty pastries, and friendly service! I tried both the coffee and matcha options, and they were spot on. The barista was super friendly and clearly knew how to craft well-balanced drinks. The Charcoal Raspberry Latte was a standout—unique and unlike any other charcoal latte I’ve had, with just the right blend of earthy and fruity notes. The Lavender Matcha was light, refreshing, and not too sweet. Pastries were fresh and flavorful—the Blueberry Jam Muffin and Mixed Berry muffin were moist, not overly sweet, and tasted homemade. Overall, a great spot with creative drinks and a welcoming vibe. I’ll definitely be back to try more!
Good coffee and espresso! Yes, they are pricey ($6 lattes) but at least you get a nice cup of coffee for the price - not always a guarantee in LA. Staff are friendly and my order was made right away, even at times when there was a line. They pay attention to customers and make sure orders are placed and made timely. I like the patio too!! There are no frills here but it’s better for that fact - nice chill place to enjoy your morning coffee.

Black Elephant Coffee is a hidden gem in Burbank for true coffee lovers. You can tell they’re fully focused on making the best brews, everything from their espresso to specialty drinks is top-tier. The staff is friendly, and the vibe is warm and welcoming. However, the space is more suited for relaxing or catching up with a friend than for working or business meetings, limited seating and not the most laptop-friendly setup. Still, if you’re here for the coffee, you won’t be disappointed.
This coffee house is adorable inside and on a side street so the outdoor seating is quiet. This visit I enjoyed a seasonal blood orange lemonade. I was saddened as I had selected this particular location for a shopping trip break and had my heart set on a seasonal marshmallow latte from the menu on google maps. It had been rotated off the menu but hadn’t been updated. 😕 Excellent place, just don’t decide on your order until you arrive! 🤍
I ordered a latte and sausage bagel while I was waiting. It was a hot day in Burbank. Indoor seatings were air-conditioned but very limited (5-6 people maybe). Fret not! There were also shaded seatings out in the patio in the back (right next to the parking lot). It was hedged with bushes and decorated with a green wall (succulent-covered), completed with end tables and such. It really was a great spot for a leisurely weekend.

Coffee and pastries are delicious, staff is welcoming to humans and dogs (they have dog treats). The service is fast and it has an adorable outside area. The only drawback about this place is that it doesn’t have a restroom for customers.
Really delicious drinks! Smaller cafe, wish you could sit and enjoy the drinks on site since the vibe is great, but the quality is great and I enjoyed what I got 👍🏻

Fine little coffee shop in Burbank — the interior is small and cute, lined with wooden benches with a nice outdoor seating on the side — plentiful! There’s parking out front which is convenient. The prices are average and there’s an extensive list, I got the matcha lavender iced latte with almond milk and my friend got the hot Mexican mocha. Both drinks were good, sweet. The latte tasted like a normal matcha latte with sweetened almond milk… I couldn’t taste the lavender that much which I was disappointed about. The pastries looked big and appealing, thought we didn’t get any. Basing this review off the matcha latte I had — I drink a lot of matchas and I think this was pretty decent, average. Not bad at all by any means. 3.7 stars — perhaps if I had a different drink and tried their food, the rating would be different but I would recommend this place as a place to meet up with people! This is a good place to meet up a friend to catch up. The location is good - Porto’s bakery and cafe is down the road which is also nice.

I just ordered a chagachino from this place and it literally tasted like straight cane sugar with no taste of chaga, did not taste healthy at all. Just complete artificial flavors and a pound of sugar masked as “chaga”. I am truly so disappointed.

Watered down coffee, bad quality and rude staff that doesn’t care about their customers. Plenty of other coffee shops in Burbank that’s gonna be a better choice.
