Tacos 1986 Burbank Reviews
Asada bowl was the right size with plenty of flavor.
I was waiting for an order at a place a few doors down and I saw this spot. I’ve always heard about Tacos 1986 but never made the trip. I figured while I waited for my food at the other spot, I’d get a little something from here. I’m extremely glad I did cause the food is fantastic. I ordered the adobada vampiro and taco. Adobada is a marinated pork that has some chile kick to it. The taco was good, a very standard taco you’d find at most spots with onions and cilantro except they automatically add guacamole to it which I appreciate very much. The vampiro was out of this world. The hard shell tortillas with melted cheese paired so well with adobada, onions, cilantro, and guacamole. I was very surprised by how much I loved it. Food came out pretty quickly and the prices were fair. I highly recommend this spot if you get the chance. Not often you come across vampiros and this one is phenomenal
Great food and great service! We came for the SpongeBob collab, everything was clean and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The guacamole is 10/10. No cash fyi
You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu and it’s limited enough that you can try everything on there in a few trips. The Adobada is sensational, carne asada is tender and delicious and pollo asado is grilled perfection. Tacos and mulitas are soft and quesadillas and vampiros are crispy. The tortillas are made to order. Everything is served with onions, cilantro, guacamole and salsa. There’s also a salsa bar with a nice selection of house made salsas. Seating is limited. Street parking. Looking forward to my next visit!
They understood & took it to another level & to top it off…. they brought it to CSUN, my film school. - @eatingwithricardo

We werent sure what to expect it was our first time eating here, but we really were happy with the vibes! We had a food restriction and the attendant really guided us through what we could select for our dinner by listing all the ingredients. We ended up having the vegetarian mushroom tacos and they tasted so good! Definitely coming back for another round.
A great place to get tacos, mulitas and quesadillas. The person taking our order was amazing and made us feel at home. The salsa bar here is one of the best I've ever tasted and I would be coming back for more.
I had such a good experience here. Came in for date night and the clerk working cashier was so friendly! The food was great and I was even talked into getting a souvenir sauce bottle! Definitely plan on coming back!
The only thing better than the tacos is the service! Claudia made sure I was taken care of, and with a big smile. I’ll definitely come back!
Had dinner with my friends here yesterday. The staff were really fast getting our orders out. Food was bomb and we had a good time.
Cashier acted like it was the first time he’d seen cash but the burrito was A1, atmosphere A1 and they played Nickelback before I walked out, it’s a winner

Claudia was super great putting together my large order. She was fast and very helpful! Hope to see her next time.
Above average tacos in Burbank. It’s not guisados, but still delicious. I had 3 steak tacos and don’t regret them at all. The location is cute and convenient.

Mediocre tacos. Won’t go back. Al pastor had no flavor. Not a lot of meat. Most taco places you can barely close the taco. I asked for no cilantro and had it. It wasn’t disgusting but not great. And parking sucks. So def not worth the effort.
Told the person I ordered from I was allergic to onions and she didn’t convey this to the person making my food and I watched as he put onions on the tacos then realized the error because “no onions” was on the ticket but there was no allergy indication, then I watched him remove the onions and continue to add the rest of the ingredients. I do not blame staff, I blame management for training. It’s absurd to not have allergies conveyed, nor understood by the person taking my order. Having an allergy is already annoying, I should not have to feel like conveying that is annoyance as the person taking my order made me feel when I mentioned it.
Go to another location, this could be so much better. My rice was partly burned and hard. The tacos were just disappointing and cold. I love the other location, so I was disappointed in this experience

So sad to write this, because when I lived in LA this was one of my favorite taco spots, but wow, things have gone downhill since I moved. Look at these embarrassing tacos. They’re less than HALF the portion of meat of what they used to serve. It felt like I was eating a chewy tortilla with onion and bland salsa. Adding mushrooms was 75cents extra and I got literally four slices on each taco. On top of the tiny portions, the meat was also chewy, fatty and cold. The flavor was just not there either. I really am sad this place has chosen shrinkflation and sacrificed the quality that made them so successful and enjoyable in the past. I recommend you go support one of LA’s many other incredible taco stands and trucks and support those immigrant businesses rather than whatever Tacos 1986 thinks it is these days. Sadly, I’m never coming back when visiting LA again.
Bad service, bad tacos and expensive. I travel all over the country and eat tacos regularly I rarely put a bad review, these tacos really need to change. We were only two people in the place today and they made us wait about 5 min just to take our order, also the meat seems to be overcooked or like if it was sitting there all day, it was very dry and clearly it was not fresh, I was even afraid to eat them.

Doesn’t stack up compared to the other locations. Made an order online, paid, drove to pick up. They called to tell me they were out of basically everything I ordered. Out of chicken and steak. They offered to use mushroom instead. No way.
The cook in a blue shirt & red hat, 02-05-26 was extremely rude, insisting we order something or get out of his restaurant, we were waiting for the rest of our party to show up so we can order as one & were trying to explain that to him he said he did not want to hear it and pointed at that door. We left extremely confused and upset at how he treated us, will not be returning & letting our friends and family know how they treat customers.
Not that authentic taste anymore. Salsa didn't look safe to eat and the Food was so salty. Barely any meat on Mulitas. And unfortunately, No restrooms. And not very welcoming. Disappointed.
They don’t accept cash for service!!!! Which means taking your card info is easy and also could make you a victim of theft (that’s the first thing that comes to mind) or the worker they have today on 12/02/2025 at 7pm doesn’t want to work correctly
