Pitillo Cabra Reviews
Really fantastic food in an elegant/funky space with good service. We had the spicy tuna dip, bass ceviche, halibut, green beans, and donuts for dessert. Every dish was a home run, especially the donuts. We will definitely recommend it to friends.
The location is great and the service and atmosphere is outstanding..the drinks were great and all of the food in the 7 course meal was yum except for the short ribs.. it was way salty and the interesting part is it seems like how the chef likes it .... They did complement it with a drink..
The empanadas were my absolute favorite, very flaky, well seasoned goat filling and delicious sauce to go with it. The steak saltado and the salchipapaa were also really good, balanced with interesting flavors. The Shrimp Tacu Tacu was not our favorite but it was something new and interesting to try. We came for bunch but plan to come back for dinner!
Cabra is one of my favorite spots to bring friends when they come to visit. I highly recommend the happy hour menu. The pisco sour is phenomenal and a steal at $11 in the city. We had the chicken & goat empanadas (very good, chicken is better but try the goat), the salchipapas that had fries the same style as McDonalds, the spicy wings that are finished on the grill that had my friend licking her fingers, the avocado dip which as someone who does not like avocado was amazing, and finally the queso which I would say was the most lack-luster dish we had but was still decent.
A beautiful restaurant on the top floor of the Hoxton. I had such a wonderful experience in this setting. Cabra is tastefully decorated, cozy vibe. The staff were great. The bartender was amazing with helping me out with food choices and drinks. Overall I'll definitely be back as I loved our stay at the Hoxton. This place in Chicago feels both stylish and welcoming. The options are surprisingly flavorful and creative, each dish packed with fresh ingredients and bold spices. Perfect spot for a relaxed evening. The night lights were beautiful. Definitely recommend. Everything is at your fingertips.
I had one summer bucket list item left- eat at a rooftop patio restaurant. Cabra was everything I envisioned and more- to my surprise, the food was so good, I probably could have been thrilled eating here if it was in the basement! Cabra feels like a patio even "inside". The view is beautiful, it's great to see the city, as the city is much more than just the lake. I had the salmon ceviche to start and literally I could have been done there in my delight. It was so good, I wanted to lick the bowl. After that, each item was somehow better than the last. I had the chicken, the dish with crab and potatoes, the halibut, and thennnnn THE SWEET POTATO DONUTS. 😍 I didn't mention the drinks, which were also lovely. Well balanced and delicious Ok it's not cheap. But what is to be expected when the FOOD & the VIEW & the STAFF.... AND the entire place. It's completely worth it for girls night, date night, or just for a moment when you want to feel like you're on top of the world and fed like royalty. 😋
This place is a MUST visit in Chicago. I took my team here for a work dinner because they were traveling in from all over the country. I wanted them to see and experience Chicago. We were all very pleased with the experience! The skyline view is amazing, the food is delicious and the staff is courteous and speedy. We shared several small plates and a variety of cocktails.
Fun high energy restaurant on top of the Hoxton. My favorite meal I had in Chicago on my trip. We split small plates family style and left so full. Excellent drinks and fun atmosphere. Very loud on a weekend so be prepared for that beach club in the sky vibe. Ceviches were my favorite thing we ordered but everything was amazing.
This was my second time at Cabra and it did not disappoint. Definitely recommend the Just a Chill Guy mezcal cocktail , so refreshing and delicious ☺️✨very smooth. I had the Quinoa French toast and the crust was nice and crunchy and quinoa was perfectly incorporated. Atmosphere is 10/10, one of my favorite rooftops with beautiful views and location. I will definitely go back again this summer! 🥰 Staff was so friendly!
DELICIOUS!!! My first rooftop dining experience and first time trying Peruvian food! Worth every penny. This would be a great date night spot. The staff was so friendly and the view was incredible. I loved all of the cilantro 😍 We went on a Monday but definitely recommend a reservation
I'd heard mixed reviews about Cabra, but I love Lazybird/Cira so I decided to make my way. Y'all... GO. I've eaten so much Peruvian food in Chicago and Cabra is right up there. The food tastes like the actual food in Peru, the rooftop venue is stunning, and the staff is very friend (including our lovely waiter Leo. Pay him more!!!!) The bass ceviche and avocado dip were the stars for me. The yuca fries were also good, and I was very impressed by the tailored gluten-free and vegetarian menus (yes, two additional menus!). I had the Just a Chill Guy cocktail which was delicious. Happy to have completed the Hoxton trifecta-- all strong spaces for food and entertainment. I'll be returning!
The food is really good and definitely worth coming back for. However, if you’re looking for a place to hang out quietly and have a conversation with friends while enjoying great food, this might not be the best spot. The atmosphere is lively and can get quite loud, so it’s better suited for a more energetic dining experience.
First time visiting this spot at the Hoxton in West Loop. Great views and atmosphere although it's difficult to get a table on the patio, they go fast. Menu is seafood heavy, but still has good variety. The fried cheese over green beans, empanadas, and halibut were the standouts. Was not able to get good photos, but the presentation was excellent. Service was friendly and fast.
This restaurant has a great vibe. I was looking forward to authentic Peruvian food but the food served tapas style with just a handful of "Peruvian" dishes. The dishes are more Peruvian Gastro Fusion cuisine instead of authentic but still good. We ordered salchipapas, papas huancaína, choclo, goat empanadas and the steak saltado 😋
Pros: excellent food. Great: quinoa French toast, ceviche, and avocado dip. So-so: eggplant saltado and tuna tataki. Cons: while the music for brunch is nice, it’s so loud you cannot talk over it. Not a place to come for conversation. I would rate this place a 4, but we had an absolutely uncalled for comment from our waiter when we put down a couple cards for an even split… “what you don’t have Venmo.” Incredibly rude and entitled, especially for the prices of the food and lack of service throughout the meal.
Everything was just okay overall. My friend and I came by on a Monday evening around 4 PM. We started with the avocado dip and empanadas (one chicken and one goat). The empanadas were definitely the highlight—flavorful, perfectly cooked, and easily the best part of our meal. For entrées, I ordered the steak saltado and my friend had the halibut. The halibut leaned a bit on the spicier side, but it was seasoned well and cooked nicely. The steak saltado was decent but nothing particularly memorable. The best part of the night, aside from the empanadas, was watching the sunset from our table—it really added to the atmosphere. They also offer a happy hour menu, which is definitely a plus.
Went here because my friend insisted it was good. Omg I left pissed off. The portions are soooo small. The shrimp ceviche was so small, I was in shock. Btw, I go to a lot of upscale places with small portions, but this was just ridiculous. Plus $5 extra for a side of tiny chips that were clearly not made in house. Please. We ordered 3 separate dishes to share plus a drink each, and we left hungry. This place needs to just leave, I'm shocked by the good reviews
