I would say cleanliness first, then a clean and free toilet. Somewhere there is a rubbish bin for separating and disposing of rubbish.

First stop after the airport in Milan as I headed south in Italy. Clean bathrooms and great variety of snacks and food options. Service was kind and I was in and out with no delays.

Kooky and cool. The rest stops and quick food spots along the highways here are perfectly spaced so that you can make a decision whenever you are ready to stop or continue. Friendly staff surprisingly considering the rush and speed at these kinds of gas-food stops.

Decent rest stop. There are lots of souvenirs and food items for sale but at a premium which is to be expected if you forgot to pick these up while in a city. The bathrooms are clean and well maintained but can get busy during peak hours as most people seem to stop here for a bathroom break while traveling.

After a long wait to get to the car hire and then finding our car had been given away we found all the shops shut and no likelihood of getting food. This little oasis appeared. Quite different from UK services we were able to get specialist sauces, pasta, prosciutto even wine. Bread for the morning settled the nerves as Sunday mornings not known for the height of bustle in Italy. Great find and one to remember.

Don't let Google StreetView fool you, this place is now an Autogrill with a Tamoil gas station. And that's a good thing, since most Autogrill branches have a good standard. Good news: This is one of them. Before crossing the border and going back home, we wanted to stock up on some olive oil and salami and to grab some quick lunch. Ordered a hot Mortadella Focaccia. Looked a bit flat and tired, but tasted very good. Found some good deals on salami and Extra Virgin Olive Oil. It's not the best Salami you'll ever eat, but it's great value. The Olive Oil on the other hand though is a favourite of ours (Il Casolare Biologico). Great stuff. There are nice, clean and free restrooms as well and the Tamoil gas station next to, in case your car is thirsty. Another good Autogrill, we liked it.

Had a short break travelling towards Swiss. No complaints, rest room was ok. And the cafe and latte macchiato was good too. Did not try much since we went there after a good dinner. But was a much needed break.

Kaffee okay. Service terrible. I wait for long time before Kassier and one young woman just checked her Cassirer and ignored me even when I said Hallo for many times. Then she left without service and then another woman came and charged my caffee. I don't understand why such service can be allowed here.

Worst service station I have ever been to. 3 of 5 petrol pumps are non-self-service which means they are !30! Cent more expensive so you wait 10 mins to squeeze onto one of the remaining 2 pumps. WT#? There are also almost no parking spots. Less than 30 marked bays. Absolute disgrace of a Company. No kids area nothing for the dogs. No where to sit or stretch your legs. 6 tables in the café. Place must see 10 thousand people a day. Don't know what they are thinking.

It's expensive and you'll wait a long time to pay. 1 person does cash register makes sandwiches , coffee , cleaning etc without washing hands after handling cash!! Disgusting!!! if you want to get sick eat there. They need to hire done people.
