Merengue was on our list when we were looking for bakeries to do our wedding cake. Lissette was incredibly easy to work with. We came in for a tasting and had our reservation wrapped up the same day. They were also very accommodating when we had to adjust our delivery time to fit our venue's receiving hours. We ended up ordering a 2-tier strawberry shortcake and a matching sheet cake to serve our guests. Delivery to our wedding reception was completed without a hitch and overall just a great experience. Thank you for helping us take some stress out of our wedding planning! Note - we opted to provide our own toppers and flowers for the cake.

Delicious and authentic recipes! Tried most of the items including breakfast and coffees. Everything is Yummy. Top on the list is Meat Pies (Pastel De Carne). Cortadito single shot is insane! Cuban cake has multiple layers of flavors almost like a guessing game. Guava, rum flavor, lemon, cream and extremely soft. Clean place and knowledgeable friendly staff.

Happened by this spot as we were leaving the area. We will definitely be back! Friendly service and plenty of great little treats! This review is only for the bakery goods. We did not have time to sample any of the sandwiches or entree items but we went to come back to try them! We got mini smores, mini fruit tart, mini salted caramel, cookies, and a lemon tart! All the items were delicious!

Great Cuban bakery. It has been the local favorite bakery. Everyone lives around here knows this bakery. Famous for its guava and cheese Cuban pastries and cakes. For most of the birthdays in our house, we come here for Bday cakes. Red Velvet cake is the fave for everyone in our house. Besides the cakes, I particularly like their potatoes ball with cheese and beef. When my daughter had an house warming party last year, we bought whole bunch of these ball and empanadas to feed the guests. Everyone can’t seemed to have enough of these. My favorite though is their almond croissant. The croissants are crispy and buttery flaky. They are perfect for afternoon tea. They also have extensive selections of sandwiches. I have seen a lot of people here for lunch. I need to try their sand witches next time. During the pandemic, the bakery limits the number of allowed to go in at a time. All workers wear masks and glove. I feel safe to shop here.

This is my go-to for my caramel macchiatto after work or for pastries when snacks at home are not enough for my cravings. My husband loves the Beef Papas from here. Staff is always friendly and the bathrooms are always clean.

Cute little shop that offers great pastries, cakes and cookies. They sell breakfast food items, sandwiches and salads. The staff are friendly and everything inside is clean. It gets crowded but the lines move fast

I had an amazing experience at Merengue Bakery & Cafe, thanks to Christina! She was incredibly kind and attentive throughout our visit. We were a group of three, and not only did she bring our food outside to us with a smile, but she also went out of her way to accommodate a menu change—replacing the banana nachos with a fresh salad without any hassle. Her warm attitude and excellent customer service truly made our day. Christina is a gem, and she represents the heart of great hospitality. Thank you!

Everyone at my office told me to try the potato ball at merengue. I'm so glad that I decided to try it. I tried the potato cheese and it was delicious. I'm also try to sandwich. I recommend if you're going to go for lunch, try going early because the parking is street parking and it can be difficult to park in this area.

The deserts are amazing! Love the German chocolate cake. Personally I would skip the food items but the deserts and pastries are worth the trip.

The bakery has an amazing display case of sweets & treats! However, things were TOO sweet, in my opinion. For breakfast I got a veggie tortilla española, which was tasty. I got an iced matcha latte too, but it was way too sweet. You could barely taste the matcha. I got a Napoleon cake that looked better than it tasted. IDK what the top layer was? Merengue? It was too sweet for me. And something felt off about the cream? The texture? I also got a lemon tart which is my fav treat, but theirs was just too, too sweet. It was very pretty but there was a lattice layer of icing on top that was unnecessary. Lastly, I got a chocolate croissant & it was perfection! It was the one thing that wasn’t too sweet. If you like very sweet, this is a great place for you. Personally most of the things were just way too sweet for me. I would go here again to try more stuff tho!

Food/Taste/Flavor: 4/5 - some pastries are much better than others. I can eat 10 of the mini salted caramel tart things if given! Carrot cake is must try with perfect blend of spice for the cake and sweetness from the frosting. It’s a much finer texture than usual which makes it that much more delicious. New York Cheesecake was extremely dense and more sour than expected. Napoleon had flaky pastry and extremely smooth pastry cream. Ambience: 5/5 - nice and clean decoration. Very comfortable to be at and would loved to have eaten there if we weren’t meeting up with friends. Service: 3/5 - had to wait around 8 minutes even though there was only one person ahead of us. Two staff was behind the counter but not sure what the other was doing. Value for price: 4/5 - a bit more pricey but worth it for the yummier pastries

We visited by mere accident, actually headed just down the street to check out another restaurant but there was a long wait there, we are very happy we ended up coming in here, the food was delicious, the coffee is really good as well, we really enjoyed our visit, almost gave them five stars, but there was just one thing we didn't like, the fans in the dining area were going full blast and it made it way too cold to be able to seat there, we asked if that could be turned down and they said yes, than other people had already mentioned the same thing, but nothing was done, even at the end of our meal, it was all the same. Our table outside wasn't even level, the front area is slanted but we had to eat there instead of freezing. We will come back to try their pastries and cakes, they look amazing.

Good no extremely fantastic either. Cuban inspired place with not only meal options but also it has its own coffee shop & bakery on site. We ordered filled potatoes and then a chicken sandwich. Quite yummy. The crew was super nice and the decorations were ok if that's your vibe. Fast service , so definitely a place to keep in mind if you don't have much time. Oh! Outdoor area as well. Pretty solid! Definitely a casual cafe, which isn't a bad thing. Great for a quick lunch or dinner, and a nice alternative to a generic sandwich shop. Food was pretty good. The cakes look stunning but I would say they could be a bit better taste-wise. Personal preference. I got one with a whipped/mousse frosting and it wasn't quite what I had hoped for. Could have more saturated flavors...BUT still pretty good and quality for the price is totally fine.

Cute little bakery and cafe. Perfect place for a short break, pick me up, or dessert. They have quite a variety of drinks, pastries, desserts and snacks. Plenty of seating inside and a few tables outside if that’s your preference. I’m a huge fan of eclairs, but I was a little let down by the one I tried. Most likely because it was too cold and the custard wasn’t as soft as it should be. I’ll probably let it sit for a bit next time.

Hi, My family member came in earlier today and your staff member Lorraine was rude to her when she asked for a bag to carry her things down the street where she parked. Your fruit tart also has no custard in it. It was whipped cream over a 1.5 inch cookie crust.

I was really craving cheesecake and I looking forward to trying. I’m surprised the girl who helped me didn’t notice. Makes me believe the cake was sitting there for way too long and is no where near freshly-made. Also, that the attention to detail is minimal…

We ordered the Two For You. The menu on the wall says it comes with mariquitas. Then you get to choose 2 items from a bowl of soup, half salad, half sandwich. We ordered soup/salad, and it was not served with mariquitas. We asked if it came with them per the menu, and were informed that only the sandwich came with them, but they'd be happy to let us buy them separately. This makes zero sense! The menu should say choose 2: bowl of soup, half salad, half sandwich with mariquitas. See the misleading photo of the menu. The food itself was fine (not great) but this misunderstanding ruined the meal for me. I was not impressed with the customer service when I brought it up; they basically told us we were wrong. They said our only option was to contact the owner or manager if we weren't happy.

The food is good but the service is shameful! I walked in with my son for coffee and we stood at the counter for about 5 min. Not once, did they even acknowledge us or ask us anything. She even turned around and looked at us, and nothing. I'm so sick of the Gen Z's they are the worst. We ended up walking out. Go to Cafe de la Olla if you want to be treated like a human.
