The Sinclair Cambridge Reviews
What an amazing venue, and a memorable night! I never had an easier access to a live concert venue like the Sinclair. I parked about 15 minutes away in Cambridge and had a lovely walk there, no waiting in line, scanned my ticket and minutes after I was in the front row. I came by for a post-rock evening with Glacier (no happy music!) and Pelican. Epic music, a very pleasant environment even though it was crowded and in the middle of summer. I definitely recommend this place! Lots of dinning options open until late in the area compliment this as an amazing Cambridge experience.
Awesome venue. Intimate setting with a cool balcony that ends at about 3 row maybe 10 ft above the stage. Really cool set up. Brick floors, don't get as sticky as straight concrete. Drink access directly to stage left. No barricade so you can get right up to the stage. Staff was solid, knew their stuff and had no mistakes on a busy Saturday night. Can't wait to go back.
This venue is decent, and a solid three stars. However, the reason I gave them five stars is because of the down to earth nature of their employees…namely, Javier and Erik, who greeted us at the door. It was my first time at The Sinclair and I was there to see whatever the heck Kyle Mooney was up to. You have to judge a place by your first impression and as the literal gatekeepers of the place Javier and Erik were very exacting, kind, and generous. These two need a hefty retention bonus or a substantial promotion.
Nice venue, good staff. View from Mezzanine and on mid level behind sound board is great. Saw NoahFinnce, Bears in Trees, and Action Adventure. First club show for my 13 year old. It was a good time. There were some good craft beers arlt the bar which was nice since more than half the crowd was underage.
My wife and I saw Andrew Belle, and the venue is great. It's mostly standing room only. They accommodated my wife and I because we were older with chairs on a balcony overlooking the stage. They're very strict on drivers liscences to get in. They carded me, and if I didn't have my license, I would have been refused entry. ( Im 63 and my wife's 60) As I say, common sense thrown out the windows nowadays. But, the staff was great otherwise. Full bar. My wife is an Andrew Belle dan and loved the show. There's parking garages around there, and we had no problem getting at spot at a flat rate of 17.00 after 5.00 p.m. Overall, it was an excellent experience.
I love that this venue has some space outside to hang out. Entry is always super easy. I also love the recessed bar area to enjoy a beer during the opener. This venue never feels overcrowded or too large for the act and the sound is always great. It would be really nice to have some chairs or benches somewhere though because not everyone can or wants to stand for hours!
I had the best experience here. Went to see Meg Myers and the whole package was better than I expected. From the parking right across the street to the smaller intimate venue. The sound quality was superb and the viewing area was perfect. I love nothing more than to see some of my favorite acts here in this establishment. The entry was so easy and the folks were so friendly. I can't say enough good things. It was perfect.
Loved the venue! Went for a concert and had an amazing time. Place was set up wonderfully and they got everyone in quickly (even with a line around the block) definitely would go again. Plus it's located right next to a Boba shop and Dunkin Donuts! There was a lot of space and they made sure to put out water every where for breaks. The upstairs section was closed off, but there is a small balcony upstairs area that looks over the stage. 5/5 would go again.
Awesome smaller venue the sounds is great and there’s a good bar
It was so great to finally see Wet play this Friday! I’ve been wanting to see them live for years ever since they played here a few years back. I wasn’t able to make it that day because it snowed and the weather sucked which I regretted, but alas I got to see them Friday. Can’t wait to go to another one of their concerts sometime!!
Awesome! Harvard knows how to party with Alex, Craig, Unity TX and the Callous Daoboys!
I like the back bar you can still listen to the music but get a great break. Solid acoustics and artists that come around.
Yummy food and great vibe. Went here before a concert and you're able to get drinks from the bar and bring them into the venue. The food was delicious but a bit pricey. We opted for appetizers only and weren't disappointed. Definitely will be back
Nice intimate venue. The sound system is great. Very organized. Will definitely watch concerts here again. There’s a parking in front of the venue, which is great. A lot of restaurants nearby as well.
Capacity 525 people. Great venue in Harvard Square for new and upcoming artists. Just saw Livingston there. Parking across street arrive early as it fills up.
My 2nd time here. Both times I had great views of the stage.
My favorite venue in Boston, great floor as well as nice balcony with some tables to sit at. There are also 3 different bars inside that seem reasonably priced. Definitely check out a show here!
One of my favorite venues in the Boston area. Plenty of room up or downstairs to enjoy the bands/artists who grace the stage. Could use better drink prices but that's true of all of Boston's venues.
This venue and staff are wonderful in terms of sound set up and hospitality . Located in a very sweet area of Cambridge this is stable for touring bands arriving with full size tour bus and trailer . Accessible loading for gear and for people with access needs too. Just phone ahead for easy access. The staff are wonderful and the facilities are great for touring bands .
First time at this venue and I will absolutely go back as often as I can. Sound, size, layout sight lines all as good as you will find. It's set up pretty much in a square surrounded by a balcony with no spillover to the sides. So if you have a ticket you will have excellent sound and sight lines. Two large bars, one on each floor and bathrooms on both floors. Just a really sweet set-up. When we arrived I scouted the place for a place to sit and saw a bench next to the upstairs bar and casually asked the the guy working there if that was the only place to sit. I mentioned my wife had a bad back and might be looking for a place to sit during the show. He said it was the only place and offered to get us a couple chairs. I said no she should be fine thanks and moved on. He went the extra mile, came down found us at the bar, said I talked to my boss and we set up a couple chairs for you. Turned out my wife needed that chair and without it we would have had to leave half through a great show Mo Lowda and The Humbles were busting out. We were absolutely blown away by this level of service.
We had such a fun time at the Sinclair- how could you not when you get to see Jukebox the Ghost?! Easy to find, parking right across the street, staff was super nice and I feel like it's the perfect size venue - not a bad seat in the house.
Great place to see bands, and just the right size. Sound / mix has always been very good when I’ve been there. Also, super convenient to get there.
GREAT place to see bands! There really isn't a bad "seat" in the house. It's standing-room only, but there are balcony levels on the sides and back, so you can get as close to the performers as you want. *THREE* bars make it easy to get a refreshment quickly, and the service is great! I definitely recommend seeing a show here!
This is a great place to see your favorite bands. It's small enough that you can find a good spot to stand almost anywhere in the building.
Came here to see a show. The staff up front was friendly and inviting (even joking about how late I was to the show) and the inside was surprisingly clean and cool despite being a sold our show. Speaking of sold out, in such a case room is a premium so I'd recommend getting there early to secure a good spot.
Great venue -- very intimate setting but still has a great sound system and floor for energetic acts. Staff is professional, security line moves quick and folks are nice.
Radiohead cover was awesome. Had a great night people in the crowd kept in their personal space lead to a great night.
Nice venue. Many good vantage points. Only negative is that you cannot bring in any weed. Cigarettes yes prerolls no!
Not only did I love the show (Ramirez and The Flawless Immaculates) but the venue AND the surrounding area were awesome! I've never been here before despite the hundreds of shows I've been to. Loved it, can't wait to come back again.
I liked that this is a smaller, intimate space! Is great for being close to the band and makes the experience better. There is standing room only with the floor in front of the stage and balconys above with standing room. They have a full bar here which was nice. The bar and merch table were just a few feet away from the concert floor. Great place to see a show at!
We love this place!!!! We have been here a handful of times. The setup is pretty good. Don't trip on the couple of stairs going up onto the floor. If you are looking to go upstairs to watch your show, then turn right and walk pat the soundbooth and the stairs are right there. My only complaint is they were out of the IPA that they had. Not a huge deal honestly. I feel that every venue should have atleast 2 IPA's to choose from. The staff was wicked friendly!!!!!!! For parking there is street parking(good luck with that), but there is a lot directly across the street. Not a huge lot. But if u get there early enough you should be good. Was $28 for the night. If you get there early enough to go out to eat. There are plenty of places to grab some dinner. HAVE FUN!!!!!
My favorite intimate-sized venue in the Boston area. Great sound, reasonably priced drinks, and an impressively diverse lineup of artists. Can’t go wrong with a show at The Sinclair.
Love this venue! The sound is good, bartenders always nice, and it’s small and intimate so you can get pretty damn close to your favorite artist (within reason).
One of my favorite venues in Boston. Word to the wise the beers are $$$ so ask for the price first! Overall great lineups and always happy to support my local small venue. The beer prices make up for the fact that most of the sets are incredibly priced.
They literally pat you down old school and even looked in people's wallets. Like what weapon fits in a billfold? The ceiling is absolutely disgusting, its literally coated in a thick layer of grossness. I can't imagine the duct work😱. However the venue itself is super adorable and fun. The staff is kind just a Lil overboard.
the venue is cute and intimate, however with the brick flooring your feet will get very tired very fast, so comfortable shoes are a must. I'm also not sure if this was just for the show that I was at, but being 3-4 rows from the stage will make it feel like you're getting flash-banged from the stage lights. The building is shared with a club (Glitter Boys) so beware that anyone setting the smoke alarm off in one will cause an evacuation in the other
The Sinclair is a concert venue and restaurant located in the heart of Cambridge, MA. The venue offers a unique atmosphere, with exposed brick walls, high ceilings, and a vintage aesthetic. The concert hall is spacious and well-designed, with excellent acoustics and a great view from any seat. The restaurant offers a menu with a wide variety of delicious items, such as small plates, sandwiches, and entrees. The venue offers a wide variety of live music, from local and up-and-coming acts to well-known national touring acts. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the security is tight but not overbearing. The bar service is efficient and reasonably priced. One of the standout features of the Sinclair is the venue's commitment to sustainability, recycling and using eco-friendly products. One downside to the venue is that it can get quite crowded during peak concert hours, which can make it difficult to navigate the space. Additionally, the parking can be challenging, especially on busy nights. Overall, The Sinclair is a great option for anyone looking for a unique and exciting concert experience in Cambridge. I would recommend arriving early to secure parking and avoid the crowds. Enjoy a meal at the restaurant before the show and take advantage of their concert-dinner packages.
We had a great time at The Sinclair the other night. This was my first time here. It’s a very cool venue. I hope to find excuses to return soon. You can’t swing a cat without hitting a bar. Which is nice. Beers were outrageously priced, as expected. Keeping us sober. Which is nice. Bathrooms were typical. At least there were doors where needed. Ample parking in city lots nearby.
Fun place huge was chill just wish it was a bigger space but bands were badass sleep theory was amazing live
I went here for a Talib Kweli show. I enjoyed the place. It’s a small set up but good enough to enjoy yourself without bumping into people. Like every show drinks are pricey but they have a good selection.
Gone down to the Sinclair 3 times in the past 3 years, all 3 times for Carbon Leaf. Great venue, always very clean, the staff sometimes can seem a bit abrupt/offputting. But considering they are in the heart of Cambridge I can't blame them for their attitude towards the general populace. No real complaints about the place. No on site parking but there is paid parking just across the way from it.
Good place to see music if you don't mind standing for the entire show. Get there early to nab a spot at the railing upstairs.
The show me and my husband went to was running late. For some reason the website listed food, and I had never been there so I assumed they had a kitchen. By the time we got there it was around 8, the dunken across the street was closed and I was very hungry. The show ran nearly an hour late so we stood waiting in the cold. When we got into the venue, I was told they used to have a kitchen, and no longer do. I dont drink much so I was looking forward to a snack. My stomach was eating itself at this point. Our show was going to be long. I dont think it got out till 12-1am (dont remember exactly). The staff itself was alright I guess, they werent friendly but they were helpful. I really liked the DJ she was vibing in the corner. Bathrooms were average for a venue like this, but not a whole lot of them so expect to wait a while during intermission. The place was small, but cozy. There is the main floor, and upper balcony with easy access. I stood in the balcony because Im very short and wanted to be able to see. When I got up there I regretted my choice because the speakers blocked a third of my view of the stage on the left side, but I stayed because the floor was too crowded for me. Over all, a mid experience for the price. The tickets were kind of expensive in my opinion, not quite worth the price for the state of the venue. I think I paid over $100 per ticket. Id go again, but only if it was someone I really wanted to see.
The newly renovated room was beautiful and clean but unfortunately gut renovations were still ongoing on the lower floors but in the morning we didn't have water due to a broken line due to construction. They comped the parking but still a great inconvenience. I would go back after renovations are completed.
Positive: They do great sound nearly every time. You can hear all the instruments and voices. That's rare. Negative: They sell tickets through AXS, which is utter shit. I would give 5 stars if it weren't for having to deal with AXS to go to shows here.
My first time attending a show here. Smaller than I expected, but nowhere is very far from the stage. Everything was clean and organized and the bar staff was friendly. Good security had my wife and me feeling very safe. Will certainly return for another show
If they could figure out the sound it would be five stars. So much feedback in guitar monitors ruined the experience for me. Otherwise, tight little spot with friendly personnel and a couple bars, two upstairs seating/standing areas and a standing room only floor. Stage was large enough for a full band. Great location near lots of restaurants and easy public transportation access.
Love the space. Friendly and properly staffed. However...There is a sound coming from that HVAC system that is very loud and annoying. So much so that the performer made a comment about hearing "alien" sounds between songs. I hope this problem gets addressed.
I was at Hannah Francis and Charlie Cunningham’s concert. They were amazing but especially at the Hannah’s bit we couldn’t hear the artist well enough because of the noise of the ac even at the front row. The AC was louder than the artist. Definitely not normal for a concert hall. They shut it down before Charlie came to stage but it automatically turned on towards the end of his concert. This should be fixed asap
Security was so extra for no reason. Took all our candy, when I asked if I could eat one now they said it was fine. I opened it and she said I had to eat the whole thing in front of her and started to yell at me when I went to stand with my friends who were buying tickets(same hallway). Than she said I had to throw it away if I wouldn't finish it in front of her. For context it was just a ring pop. Was yelling at my kid too who had a push pop. The venue itself was cute but the staff was so rude, I won't be returning.
