Caffè Ristorante del Peso Camino Reviews
Bella esperienza: personale molto gentile, fritto misto insuperabile e dolci favolosi.
Fritto misto alla Monferrina semplicemente favoloso e anche tutto il resto
Restaurant in the village of Camino (AL). During the week, it offers a 15 euro lunch menu that includes a first course, second course, dessert, water, wine, and coffee. You can choose from 4 first courses, 4 second courses, 4 side dishes, and 3 desserts. Fast service, very friendly staff, and a clean, new restaurant. The food is home-style, well-cooked. Beautiful views from the hill. Party lunches are available upon reservation. The restaurant also serves Piedmontese-style mixed fried fish upon reservation. I recommend it if you're in the area or for a lunch in the hills. If you're intolerant to milk and dairy products, you can eat there. I've had no problems. Vegetarians have vegetable options on the menu. For those with gluten intolerance, it's not suitable; they only serve regular pasta and bread from the menu. Good portions, and you'll leave feeling full and satisfied.
Very welcoming, they greet you with a big smile! Typical dishes, simple but very good: agnolotti, slow-cooked bacon, tongue with an excellent sauce, peppers in bagnacauda.... Compliments to the managers and staff.
So happy to have discovered this restaurant while we were on a trip!!! Beautiful location with exposed bricks and beams and quiet. We tried the tasting menu and I don't know what we liked most! Compliments to the chef! Very fast service! Mrs. Rosa was also very sweet, hospitable and made us feel at home! Thank you ❤️
Found by chance at 1300. Ate very well, menu with first course, second course, dessert, wine, water, coffee for €12 They offered me two first courses and two second courses as a menu, and in my opinion it's a very fair thing if you want to give fresh and good products made on the spot. I don't believe in those country restaurants that offer 15 first courses and 20 second courses. Friendly staff.
I must say I am very satisfied, very good and fresh food, generous portions, SPECIAL mixed fried food, very pleasant dessert and wine, very clean bathrooms, friendly and helpful staff, if you have a little time available, looking around you will be wonderfully amazed by the enchanting landscape
We went to this place for lunch yesterday to eat the fritto misto with a Groupon promotion, a menu with very good mixed cold cuts, very delicate peppers with bagna cauda and what can I say about the fritto misto, truly spectacular, very abundant and perfect. The fried dish consisted of steak, lung, liver, brains, semolina, apples and amaretti, at the end also a typical dessert of the area with rice. The managers were wonderful and very kind, not so much Groupon, truly incompetent, THE RESERVATION WAS MADE FOR TUESDAY (THE PLACE ONLY DOES FRIED FOOD ON THE WEEKEND), luckily we entered the place at 10 to ask if they would postpone our lunch by half an hour, to have time to take a walk, we discovered that it was not the day of fried food and that they had not received any reservation 🤬🤬🤬. The owner when she discovered that we had traveled two hours for this lunch went out of her way, called the cook specialized in mixed fried food at home and asked if she was available, got all the material and at 13 after the walk we had the fried food lunch .... WHAT CAN I SAY ... WONDERFUL 👏👏👏 ... INSTEAD GROUPON SCANDALOUS, THIS WILL BE THE LAST RESERVATION WITH THE SERVICE 🤬🤬🤬
First of all, Camino is an absolutely enchanting place, and that alone is worth a visit. If you happen to be here on a weekday at noon and are looking for a more than decent tourist menu without breaking the bank, Ristorante del Peso is the ideal place. Unfussy home cooking, but in keeping with local tradition. Fast service, friendly staff, and absolutely reasonable prices.
The Place is very good, coffe is great and orange juice too. The owner isn't very friendly, but cannelloni are wonderful!
Since I last stopped here, about four years ago, I've found the atmosphere and food to have deteriorated somewhat, with prices higher than the quality. It's a huge shame to see this business decline in quality like this. I hope it was just a bad day. It will still be a favorite.
A historic, intimate venue with excellent service and top-quality ingredients. The staff is helpful and relaxed, putting guests at ease. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a mountain refuge, in my opinion, but still intimate and rural. The table setting needs improvement, as do some of the dishes. Prices are in line with the quality.
Large, warm, and traditional restaurant. Very friendly staff. Fast service. Lunch with a Groupon coupon for two, including a cold cuts appetizer. Fried Piedmontese steak, brain, lung, sausage, amaretto, semolina, apple, and carrots, plus a choice of dessert, coffee, water, and 250ml of wine for less than €30 for two. The dishes were very generous. However, they definitely weren't light and not suitable for those on a diet. We were given containers to take away what we hadn't eaten, since we were full.
Aside from the architectural setting, everything else was negative. Starting with the crumpled tablecloths, we continued with a 20-minute wait for a small plate of cold cuts: four slices of raw salami, two of lard, and three of cooked salami. Another 45 minutes for a second course, ordered with the appetizer. We also ordered roast shank with potatoes, and three slices of braised beef arrived on top of a ladle of polenta. Only water, no wine, 70 euros for two. Forget it.
Very expensive and very unfriendly. Paid 10 euros for two beers and got charged 25% extra for paying by credit card... Aperitivo very scarce. Can be avoided, there are so nany nice places around
