Laguna Grande Canandaigua Reviews
Good Mexican grub. Nothing too fancy. Decent prices , great staff and good food. I wouldn't say it's anything different than similar Mexican places. Would still go back , had a good time.
We've been teice and both times were great. On a Thursday night it was pretty busy, but there was still plenty of seating without being on top of anyone. Sunday night was a lot slower, if you want it quieter. There is a separate vegetarian and vegan section. The spinach enchiladas are delicious. You get homemade, warm chips with your meal. I would have liked the salsa to be a little chunkier, but it had a great cilantro taste without being too spicy. Our fried bowls were a little over-fried, almost burnt. My wife didn't think so, though. The bowl does need rice, even a scoop on the side would be perfect. The guacamole was fresh and delicious. I can't believe it took us so long to find this place, but it's a great location if you're going to the beach or CMAC. Highly recommended.
Quick service, good food, good prices. Nice atmosphere inside. Menu is a little limited compared to some Mexican restaurants we have been to but has the main staples you expect.
had a great experience at this Mexican restaurant! The place was clean, cozy, and had a nice atmosphere. I ordered the vegan veggie fajitas, and they were absolutely delicious—flavorful, fresh, and very filling! It’s not always easy to find good vegan options, but this one hit the spot. I’d definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone, whether you’re plant-based or not. Great food and great vibes!
This was a very pleasurable experience with smiles end hard-working people. I knew it was going to be fast service You could tell it was going to be the real deal when? the homemade chips and salsa were immediately there before we sat. Wonderful food top notch authentic in my opinion. Loved added spice and no cumin overpower in my dish. I can't wait to return! 2 👍
Came here for a late lunch with my grandparents (their go-to local Mexican, my first time). We were seated promptly, served warm chips and salsa. Staff were all courteous and speedy. I ordered the shredded beef Chimichanga which was excellent! The beef was exactly what I was hoping for: very well-flavored, tender, and moist. My grandparents both got the street tacos, one order of steak and one chicken. Those looked great as well and they ate all them. All prices were reasonable and portions were filling. The atmosphere was nice; well-decorated with Mexican music playing. If I'm ever looking for Mexican in Canandaigua again, this is where I will go.
Griffin was a great waiter. Food was delicious, and margaritas fantastic 👏Delicious! What a great stop for authentic Mexican food and drinks. Had the cheese enchilada and two bean burritos. It was fantastic. Trying the vegetarian lifestyle and this plate was filling. My friend had the some burritos as well and said it was delicious too. Great staff who were super friendly. We will definitely be back.
My son and I went on his birthday and Laguna Grande did not disappoint. We started with the Azteca dip (there are no words for how good it is!) He had the chicken fajitas for his main dish and I had shrimp tacos. Absolutely delicious! I also treated myself to a mojito and it was wonderful. Our server was a doll and even though she was busy she made sure we had everything we needed. I used to frequent another Mexican restaurant in town but after a bad experience a few years ago I haven't been back. I'm so grateful we now have such a wonderful alternative!
We finally took the recommendation of family and friends and tried Laguna Grande out and were glad we did - the atmosphere is just what we personally look for when eating out... casual and comfortable. The place was clean, the staff was friendly and efficient, and the food was DELISH! High portions for all of us and a reasonable cost for what you got. I don't know much about cuisine to know if this is "authentic" Mexican cuisine, but it felt it to me, and we loved it! :)
Some of the flavors were bland. The server seemed agitated or unwilling im not sure. Either way it could have been a better experience. Went back for a second try at a different time of day. The server was marginally better but the food was worse. Ordered something with crab amd was served imitation crab. If the venue had elaborated on that I would have never ordered. The manager was very accommodating for the issue tho and I appreciated that.
Our monthly dinner date. Laguna does not take reservations however my friends and I got in roughly 15mins granted it was a sat night. Area was clean and service was timely. Portion size was huge all of us had to get tak home boxes! The only issue I had with my burrito was the steak was tough! My burrito was only 15 so I can't complain !
Excellent cuisine. Diverse menu, friendly staff. Drinks were good. I am all for authentic food and I think this was great! If I were to make any criticism, it would be the menu design and that was I was unaware of there were special dishes; I love specials because they are a chance for the cooks to express their talent and skills. I enjoy having dishes that are out of ordinary. Tonight was first night, hope to return and try something again.
Chips great, fresh. Salsa didn’t have much flavor. The chicken enchilada with salsa verde was amazing, the ground beef ones were lacking in salt. The corn tortillas were good. Rice and beans were such a minimal portion, which is the opposite on any other Mexican or TexMex place I’ve frequented. Beans had a burnt aftertaste. This is only my second visit to this place, so maybe I need to get a different dish. But underwhelming.
