We ate at the restaurant today. The menu was very extensive and delicious, especially the scrambled eggs with black pudding, the secret steak, and the grilled salmon. We also ordered two Ávila ribeye steaks and croquettes - everything was very tasty. We were served by a tall, dark-haired girl (I don't know her name) - very attentive, quick, and friendly. 100% recommended.
After walking around for a while during a Saturday afternoon, this place is the only restaurant that was willing let us sit down and have lunch without the need of a reservation. I'm really glad we decided on this place, because even though the atmosphere inside was really loud and chaotic the food was amazing. The manager was very nice and welcoming. I strongly suggest this place!
Perfect Candeleda experience! Local food and great people!
5 stars! Very good. A Candeleda classic for small bottles with portions of lean meat and peppers. This time for the festivities, we ate there. We made a reservation at 3 p.m. There was little wait time. There were four of us, and we ordered a menu with a tray of cochifrito, salad, rice, and a portion of lean meat and peppers... everything was great. Very well served. And when we finished, we left the dining room and they had a sound system with a DJ... so off we went to continue with the festivities. A great place. Very cool. We'll always come back.
The place is very welcoming, and in summer they have air conditioning in the dining room. What I liked most was the gluten-free food! I'm celiac, and they really do have a good variety of options on the daily menu, à la carte dishes, and desserts, all at a very affordable price. Highly recommended! It also has a great atmosphere. They even called me to ask if I could eat there, and it worked out perfectly! 😊
A traditional tavern, recently renovated. The menu is excellent, featuring local, homemade products. The suckling pig and peppers are, of course, outstanding. Absolutely delicious. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended. You can't visit Candeleda without eating there.
Very nice people and environment. Also nice snacks and tapas
Amazing place!
Two of us visited on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. We were looking around, and since it was a Wednesday, not many places were open, so we decided to eat here. We had the set menu. For starters, we had a mixed salad and noodle soup, followed by broken eggs with ham and fried chicken with potatoes. We also had dessert and two coffees, plus the drinks included in the set menu, which in our case was beer and red wine with soda. The set menu costs €15, and coffee is €1.70, so we paid a total of €33.40. The quality/price ratio is good.
Popular Bar & Restaurant. Good Traditional Food. Excellent Value Money propositon.
A good place to eat if you're passing through Candeleda. I highly recommend the homemade croquettes—they're delicious—and the patatas bravas with a fantastic sauce. The portions are generous. The baby goat chops were also very tasty. The waiters were very friendly and attentive. The restrooms were very clean.
Everything was perfect until we went to pay, having spent well over €200, and the waiter charged us for the water that was included in the set menus (just because they were large bottles, claiming that each bottle was enough for one glass of water per person...). Could they be any more cheap? I don't think so. People, ask for individual bottles of water so you don't get charged twice.
We went on Saturday. We ordered a steak for €23, it was delicious, I really liked it. Then we had a special menu for €18. The first course was a house salad, I didn't see anything house-made, lettuce 🥬 and a couple of anchovies, a typical Mercadona salad. The second course was a house salad, which I really liked, and the dessert was two coffees ☕☕ and cheesecake. The cheesecake looked more like cheesecake, I didn't like it at all. The waitress was alone in the dining room; she didn't have time to understand all the customers. It's not fair to have one person in a dining room on the weekend. I need more staff.
A typical menu del día. Nothing special.
I went out for dinner tonight with my partner. We ordered three dishes, but she didn't try the mushroom scramble. The rest was fine. After a while, I had to rush to the bathroom. I spent quite a while cleaning everything out. I don't think the scramble was good, or maybe the mushrooms, shrimp, or egg weren't right. The waiter must remember me because I gave him back a euro he was shortchanging me on. The atmosphere was nice; there was a group of people playing guitar and cajón and singing.
