Today is my son's birthday and he decided Chicken Express sounded good for dinner. I made a call to place my order, and was hung up on the first time, so I immediately called back and spoke to one of the managers, named Bobby. (They only had 3 crew members working and a steady stream of business when I arrived, so I'm sure it felt hectic for the staff today and they don't normally hang up on people 😊) Bobby was very professional on the phone when I placed my order for the Mega Express Meal, which comes with 40 chicken tenders (regular or spicy), 4 family sides, about a dozen rolls (or biscuits) and a gallon of tea (sweet, unsweet, or 1/2 & 1/2) for approximately $90 (before tax). I added two family sides and one family dessert (fried pies) for a total of $114 after tax. So, 40 regular, extra-crispy tenders, 4 mashed potatoes and cream gravy, 1 extra-crispy okra, 1 family side corn-on-the-cobs, and 2 apple & 2 cherry fried pies. We're set for dinner tonight and some leftovers for tomorrow. I didn't have to cook, minimal clean-up, and everyone is happy. When I arrived, Bobby was still in the process of making my order, which I knew in advance with a large order it takes more time to make it fresh, so I was completely fine waiting for it. I prefer to have my order made correctly rather than "too quickly." Although, for such a large order, the wait wasn't as long as I expected it to be. I had time to hit the restroom and give my canine companion a drink of water. Upon checking my order before leaving the establishment, I noticed my rolls were a little overcooked for my taste, and Bobby made sure to make me happy by baking a fresh batch for me. He carried the rest of my order to my car while waiting for the rolls, and then brought the rolls out to me when they were done. Bobby is one of the rare ones who shared his philosophy of "you deserve the quality and service you paid for" with me when I insisted on tipping him and his crew for their exemplary quality and service today, making me very happy with a perfectly delicious dinner for my son and our family on his birthday today. Thank you Bobby, and crew, for not finding me "too difficult" a customer today with my special requests of extra crispy tenders, okra, and not too-dark rolls. Your work ethic and professionalism was so appreciated today. I had to put down a beloved, furry family-member yesterday, and today was made a little happier and easier knowing we were going to enjoy a quality meal. I definitely will return and I recommend this Chicken Express. ~ ♥️

Made a stop here on my way home and was very pleasantly surprised! Service was excellent, food was really good and the atmosphere was comfortable. It was a very relaxing stop and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The chicken was hot and tasty and the Mac and cheese was a treat. Thanks for your hospitality! I will likely be traveling through the area again and I'll make a point of stopping. Have a Happy New Year.

Is there any better comfort food than fried chicken with white gravy and biscuits? I can't think of any at the moment. Add a side of fried okra and slaw and wash it down with sweet tea served by sweet people. #Sweet

Inside was outdated and dirty. Servers lacked training and were very slow. I have been in portable toilets cleaner then the restrooms here. On positive note food was amazing.

One of my favorite chicken eateries.. This location is very high profile , food is good service is awesome. But I have a complaint, AGAIN - I've had the same complaint for years and tonight is no different, I always drive through to order and take home. For whatever reasons I've received mediocre temperature food , sometimes luke warm , and when it's luke warm to me it's cold food , and I know about the let's heat it back up for one more round . Denial won't work , I live near this location for 23 years , that means I probably have known quite a few kids that worked there. I understand profit and loss ,however , I ask you Chicken Express , is it necessary to serve food that gets your reputation questioned ? You have an Extremely High Profile Restraunt a few blocks from the world's largest flee market. Profits should be great. FYI, I've made my complaints in person and by phone , I get offered food , I don't want food for trade , I want hot and fresh food for the money I pay you ! Your service is on point, the place is clean , SERVE HOT FRESH FOOD to every customer no matter what time it is , even if it's 10 minutes till close .. I'll be back randomly , when I get back to back hot fresh food I'll rate the food .. It's now October 25th , I was back tonight , service at the window was out of character, probably a new kid . I waited 25 minutes , I fin a lay went inside as the food was being brought out , I asked if the food was hot , he said yes it was just cooked. I had 10 piece dark special and 7 tenders , tenders were cold , chicken had 2 pieces that were hot and I'm pretty sure they had been refried because the skin was extremely crisp and dark . If you own this place you need to hire and pay someone to make sure the customers get good food . I'll be back, when you get it right ill change my review . Thank You

Ordered 2pc fish and okra, took 25 mins to get the order and it wasn't even fresh. The fish was small and both (fish/okra) were overcooked or recocked.

i usually order the fish and most of the time its good . today 7/18/25 it was the worst, it took them a while to get the order but then the fish , it was like it was fried once then and second time battered and fried again, the corn meal did not stick, the second time, it was all in the bottom of the box, the fish tasted like grease if you look at the fish you can actually see what i think is being fried twice anyway i gave it to the animals did not finish it

We were in town fir a QBR football camp at the hihg school. We ordered 4 meals. #1 Spicy chicken strips. 2 regular #1 chicken strips 1-#5 fried liver all with same sides and same drink- ice tea. The drive-thru female kept repeating order like she was confused. Then when we get to window food was not ready. Had to pull up. We waited at least 15-20 minutes for food. One of workers came out and told us 3 minutes before receiving food. sorry sir we ran out of chicken strips but they are ready now. Food was good and order was almost right. We received one too many drinks at drive through window. We were not asked if we needed any condiments, but we did have napkins.

The chicken is hot, crispy, and just salty enough to make you question your life choices, but hey, that’s the charm. The sweet tea? It’s basically syrup. One sip and you’ll either fall in love or immediately feel the onset of diabetes. Service? It’s a gamble. Sometimes it’s fast, sometimes you’ll watch your tenders age like fine wine under the heat lamp. Either way, you’re getting your food eventually—just maybe not with the sauce you actually ordered. Final verdict? 3 out of 5 clogged arteries. It’s greasy, it’s fast (usually), and it hits the spot—just don’t check your blood pressure afterward.

Prices seem high for the portions you get. Probably won't order extra sides anymore. You get 8 small fried pickles for $3! Mashed potatoes needed flavor or at least gravy. Chicken was seasoned just right. The guy that brought us our food literally threw the tray at us. We at first thought it was "us" but noticed he did it to everyone else too. Cashier was very nice and let us take our time ordering.
