This place is exactly what you think it is. A local donut shop that sells all the same donuts as every other donut shop. The family that runs it is nice and will usually throw a few donut holes in with your order. CASH ONLY but there is an ATM in there.

For a Mom and Pop donut shop this place is A+++ all the way. They tend to run out of the good ones early (before 9am) so I recommend going in by 7:30 at the latest!!

Cinnamon twist- light and fluffy. Great cinnamon flavor but could use slightly more. Really good glaze. Would get again. Glazed old fashioned- Solid old fashioned. Slight lemon flavor in the background. Moist with a vanilla flavor. Absolutely would get again. Apple fritter- Very slight apple flavor. You really only get it in the center. The edges are crisp/ crunchy. Good amount of cinnamon. The center is my favorite part. Good fritter but not my favorite. I'd get one again but not before getting other donuts.

Donut Station is one of my favorite places to go early in the morning for a special treat, and my daughters thoroughly enjoy it as well. Coming here is always a pleasant experience. The donuts are always fresh and delicious, with a wide variety to choose from. I particularly enjoy the ham and cheese croissant, heated up. Bagels and breakfast sandwiches are also on the menu. They serve many flavors of hot coffee and tea, with all the fixin’s. The cooler is well stocked with many cold drinks, including a bunch of flavors of Guayaki Yerba Maté! Cindy and Tina provide phenomenal service and they keep the line moving fast. They keep the shop very clean and tidy too! Pricing is a great value for everything on the menu. Transactions are cash only, and they have an ATM available in the corner for your convenience. 10/10 would recommend

Free secure wifi! My 86 year old dad lives for his morning donut coffee paper ritual. I never go in search of them but indulge when I want to spend quality time with my dad (who is visiting me from Wisconsin). OMG this place rocks! We went to two other places in Santa Cruz before discovering this gem. One was out if donuts at 10am?! All their donuts and pastries are baked in house every night. Our all time donut to judge quality by is the French which is the lightest fluffiest donut of all time and not easy to master. The key is the inner moistness. Other places may make look alikes but taste like dry crisco inside and leave a film of grease on the roof of your mouth. The ones here don’t need as much frosting as they have but the chocolate is rich and creamy and I eat it all with delight. My dad has an emotional support dog (13 lb Yorkie) and the staff is really cool about our taking him inside to sit under the table. The staff is very very friendly and knows many customers by their names! Impressive! I usually byo coffee to these types of places as they don’t typically serve decent coffee (no espresso for sure) but this place offers about 8 different roasts and its refreshing to pay 2.50 vs 6 bucks for a cup of joe. Refills are $1! Its nice to not hear the roar of espresso machines too! Theres nothing ‘pretty’ or ‘hip’ here but its just nice down to earth people and very clean. They also offer bagel and croissant egg sandwiches.

I can’t believe I didn’t know about this place. Honestly I turned into the parking lot to turn around and go to Gayle’s, but I noticed donut station and changed my plan. I had a glazed donut, a coffee, and a ham egg and cheese sandwich for a bit under $10! Not only that, everything was delicious! Fresh, delicious donuts in the morning, coupled with a friendly atmosphere of jovial regulars and a cheerful clerk behind the counter. For under 5 dollars you can get a high-calorie (amazing) breakfast and a large cup of hot fresh coffee. I ate there every morning on my trip, and it couldn't have been better. Highly recommend this spot, and I am sure of their continued success.

I came in to pick up a couple donuts for myself. I grabbed some milk and went to pay. They only take cash so make sure you have some, but I didn't. I only had like 2 dollars. They were so nice and just told me to take it even though I was 3 dollars short. I felt bad and walked out to my car and was able to get the difference, but the fact that they just let me have it even though I didn't have enough cash was just so heartwarming. They obviously care about their customers. The donuts were delicious. Thank you again for being so generous and I would be happy to visit again anytime. I'll just make sure I bring the cash

Sad because I only get to eat these delicious donuts whenever I am in town. The prices are extremely reasonable, the flavors and textures are excellent, the service is friendly and helpful. The experience couldn't be better. These are not ultra-luxury fancy-pants donuts (I have had those kind of donuts, they are delicious but very expensive), these are just the ideal version of what a donut should be.

The BEST fresh donuts in the world are served by Cindy and Tina, owners of the Donut Station located in Capitola, near the Fresh Produce and a video store. Everyone loves them, this is the local spot to hangout on an early morning. They are lovely people too! Highest recommendation.

The day I went recently I came in late morning and the selection was small cause they had a successful early morning. Favorite is the chocolate bar filled with custard. Yum

Started going to Donut Station in 1999. No need to go to other, higher cost places up the street. (Everyone knows those places!) Tina and Cindy are the best, and this is the preferred hangout for local folks. So you know it's gotta be good!

Good overall experience. Ordered two chocolate covered old fashioned and an apple fritter. Both were good but the chocolate was a little too sugary. Apple fritter was enormous and tasty.
