Inconspicuous spot in a shopping center with a completely different vibe once you walk in. Very modern and inviting with great service. Really liked the menu, offered a nice variety and did I mention the full bar. It could be 3 or 4 stars for you, but it was a 5 star for us. We were greeted with a smile, our questions about the cocktails and entrees were answered with thought and clarity, and everything was excellent. The chicken and croffle was juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside, the flank steak was slightly overdone, but still excellent. Service with a smile, water glasses filled, great cocktails and delicious food; 5 stars in my book. They also have happy our Monday & Thursday-Saturday 8-9 pm and Sunday 7-8 pm, but was told looking at a 4-6 pm which is more my speed. Also liked the peanut butter bananas foster bread, though I didn't taste peanut butter. However, enjoyed the sea salt and ice cream accompaniment. Not my fav is tip options of 20, 22, 25%. Let's get real and return to 15, 18, 20%.

The elote-spiced chicken wings were crisp with lots of flavor, the special of the day provided tender, flavorful meat with an amazing savory baked bread pudding-style side, and both the espresso martini and peanut-chocolate dessert were perfect.

We were a party of 20+ and had the whole bottom area to ourselves. Everything was perfect, from great service to amazing food. Everything we ordered was delicious and we would definitely come back in the future!

flavors were out of this world across all 4 dishes that we had been here a few times - menu has shrunk and food flavor has grown great local beers as always!

When we first walked in and saw the menu prices as we're being seated, I'm not gonna lie -- we both were wondering if we should politely apologize and get up and leave. But that feels too awkward and the people were REALLY friendly and attentive so we didn't get a chance to discuss it. But with Happy Hour pricing, 4 people ate & drank for just under $50 ($47.96, not including tip). The price value was on point because the pizzas we chose to order may look plain but were very good -- very tasty! The happy hour pepperoni was only $10 and our Salame Rosa pizza had a bechamel sauce that was indeed tasty. They kept our drinks refilled without even having to ask -- and I personally was THIRSTY on a travel day. The design of the place was quite unique with interesting stylistic accent pieces (enough that I even took some pics of some of them). Bathrooms were located at the back of the lower section, under the balcony area and were very clean. Would definitely recommend trying this place out!

Holy mackerel was this good! The chili chicken wings, house salad, and grilled oysters were well worth the price, delicious, and generously portioned. -Dont shoot the grilled oysters. There's a lot of delicious butter but it'll overwhelm the palate. Just fork out the oyster instead and sip the butter of you really want. - One of the best salads I've ever had. Incredibly generously portioned, every bite is different. Ask for pumpkin brittle extra on the side, I've never had anything else quite like it and it makes a phenomenal dessert. Plus great service despite a busy house. Overall awesome!

Amazing. One of the two best fried chicken I've had in town! The brunch was all perfect. They made these strawberry cakes that were caramelized on the outside perfectly. The eggs were cooked perfectly. Their fried potatoes were crispy. I love coming here! Oh and the mimosas were priced well!! We will be back, very soon!

Such a fun place. They've made the best of the space they have, part of the restaurant is upstairs. That's probably the only downside, if you don't like stairs or like for us another customer comes in doused in cologne, since there's such few tables upstairs, you will be smelling it. Vs downstairs the tables are really close together but because of the high ceilings it wouldn't have been so bad. Also for everyone reading this, please don't douse yourself in cologne or perfume but especially if you're going out to eat. People don't want to smell that and eat. So we had to leave early because it was so bad and that was unfortunate because the food was amazing and the service was so kind and intuitive. We had their burger that was a special during burger week and it was unbelievable. The fries were super delicious too. Someone a couple tables over ordered a pizza during the happy hour time. I believe it was $10 so when I saw this giant pizza they brought them I was floored! Definitely a great deal. Dinner entrees are fairly priced for the environment they are bringing and would be fun to try. Check them out if you haven't!

5 stars specifically for the amazingly delicious East End Burger! Absolutely divine. Huge, juicy, perfectly cooked, dressed simply with lettuce, onion, and house sauce. I recommend adding the bacon. The best burger in Santa Cruz, even better than the also delicious burger at the West End Tap. Accompanying fries are very good. Seriously, order the burger. As for the other details: cozy space, huge beer selection, overall hipster vibe, kind of pricey (burger is worth it). Located in a shopping complex near the Capitola Cinelux theater, making it the perfect date night stop. Recommended!

Really great meal! Staff was friendly. Outdoor seating available that's dog friendly! The only thing I would mention is that they should add veggies to their plate to make it more well rounded but great anyway.

This is quite a gem out of no where. That food was amazing. The staff were excellent... Definitely recommend the Bianca pizza, I had some garlic and Corn add additional and it's so damn brilliant... Definitely will visit again.

The double burger is a must try. They have a good bar and the house salad is fantastic. I like to get here when I’m in the area.

The first time I went to this restaurant was because I saw they won an award in Good Times for their burger, and I wanted to give it a shot. This is quickly becoming on of my favorite places for dinner, offering a variety of dishes at a good price in a nice environment. The desert menu changes every day in my understanding, but what I have had was great! The staff are always friendly, and there are a lot of options to keep everyone happy.

I’ve been to East End probably five times and every single time it never disappoints. The food is actually very good, better than some “Michelin” rated restaurant slop I’ve eaten in big cities. The vibe here ranges from relaxing to sociable. Everyone I’ve ever met behind the bar and at the bar has been very pleasant. If you’re a fan of pizza this is your spot. I go here every time I come to Santa Cruz, and will continue to do so! 5/5

The shrimp bao bun was delicious! Tender bun, fresh-tasting shrimp, tasty vegetables, and a complex sauce. This starter was enough for me for dinner. And service was pleasant and efficient, so that we were done in plenty of time for our movie next door.

Best meal I’ve had here. The salt and pepper shrimp might be the best shrimp dish I’ve ever had. Honeydew Yuzo Gaspacho was fresh and delicious and the burrata peach and tomato salad was perfect. Loved the corn bread with sage honey butter as well although I think for $12 you should get two pieces :) will definitely come back. Love this season’s menu.

We had Korean chicken with blackened rice it was good buy not unforgettable. I enjoyed a Napoleon pizza that was very fresh and tasty. We ordered a salad to share and it was really fresh the salad was crisp and the dressing was light and refreshing. The dinner bread is a homemade biscuits with a jalapeño butter that was delicious. My wife had a watermelon margarita that was not all that great to be honest. $100 before tip for a chicken dish medium size cheese pizza a salad and one cocktail. The restaurant is clean, a little on the pricey side for what you get but non the less a good date night spot to bring you favorite person to enjoy a meal

Had the lobster stuffed shells and was so good! Corn bread appetizer was also tasty but a lot smaller then we thoughts, good for two people max. A lot of people ordered the chicken and croffle and pizza around us, definitely want to go back and try those! Staff were super friendly and helpful.

Went for burger week, and the crab sandwich was very good. Disappointing they didn't allow for any modifications as they are normally very good at accommodating dietary restrictions.

I detected two or more amazing aspects to the East end gastropub sitting at the bar I realized the movie theater was 20 yards away and a good place to go before or after a movie. The menu is eclectic with many different tastes available and I'm told changes all the time. I have had duck here and the pizza guy looks like he does a really good pizza, I found lamb lollipops as a starter was a pretty much great meal as well does Caesar salad is something to die for.. the best of all the romaine crunches and very small romaine leaves nothing to be desired You are already in heaven. Of course there are other nearby shops this is the place to go for everything, ending with a glass of wine and food to relax and chat.

This is a such a great Gastropub in Santa Cruz' east side. The place not only looks amazing but their food and beer are great too. And if you like wine, no worries, they have that too. I love places with beer on tap. Add tasty food and great service to that and you have a winner. From lamb chops to burger, pizza to pastrami sandwich. So far, everything we tasted was delicious. Their dinner menu is bigger than the lunch one and better in my opinion. Make sure you make a reservation for evening plans because they do get busy.

Service was excellent. The vibes were cool. The food was good but not great and they were out of 1 of their 4 entrees so we felt options were limited.

East End has historically been a favorite restaurant of mine, until they hired Hannah. I've seen her as a waitress and as a bartender. Unfortunately, she has been nothing but rude and disrespectful to my friends and myself. Outside of East End, I have watched as Hannah verbally assaulted a close friend because he wasn't a "good tipper." He tipped her 20%. It was a viscous verbal attack. Really awful stuff to see firsthand. It made us assume (rightfully) that she's psychologically unwell, yet she continues to work here. To the restaurant owner: Viscous verbal attacks on your customers is NOT acceptable behavior for your staff. Now we avoid this restaurant.
