Bacchus Cardiff Reviews
Had an amazing experience yesterday at Bacchus. There was a set Valentine’s menu, which I wasn’t aware of because I made my reservation in person. However, the manager, Kim, was very accommodating and kindly allowed me to swap a few dishes from the à la carte menu to suit my preferences. Our server, also named Kim, was great, and made us feel very welcome throughout the evening. The food was delicious, with the duck in particular being outstanding. The chocolate and caramel tart was also very tasty, although the crust was quite hard and difficult to cut. The only downside was that we had to wait about 30 minutes for our Cokes to arrive. Overall, it was a lovely evening and a great dining experience. I would definitely recommend it and will be coming back. Fantastic service. Lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff. Will certainly come back soon!!
Highly recommend. Good meal with great service from Jim. Thank you.
Staff were nice, drinks were good, the place itself has a nice atmosphere, but the food was a huge let down. The steak was the only redeemable part. The sourdough with the starter was the hardest I’ve ever had. On the same theme, the base of the tart we ordered for dessert was so hard I thought it might have been a mini bowl because I genuinely couldn’t break into it. I almost had to get my partner to strong-arm it in the end just to crack it and it ruined the nice parts of the dish. I just think when you’re spending that much money, you’d want the food to be better and not have to struggle. I really wanted to like it here but for what we got, I didn’t think it was remotely worth it.
