Pho Cardiff

I haven't been to Phi for a while, but I stopped by today and ate there again. The food was still delicious, and the waiters were friendly and smiling. I will definitely be back next time.

We had a good time here. It’s very timely that we stumble upon this Vietnamese restaurant since we are craving for soup and Pho is a perfect choice. Their food was delicious and their customer service is outstanding as compared to what I have experienced here in the UK so far. They are very attentive, accommodating and friendly. Kudos to Anik and his colleagues. We’ll definitely dine here again.

I came here never having eaten pho! Im absolutely now addicted Food was awesome even if I did put too much chillies in my first bowl, I was very surprised when the server caught me coughing & spluttering with a sweat on Asked me what was wrong I explained I'd destroyed my meal. No problems she said ill get you a fresh one! Not their mistake it was mine but still replaced it for a fresh one! That was an awesome gesture And have absolutely enjoyed what I had Would highly recommend this place. Wonderful & I cant wait for my next visit!

A lovely meal at Pho in Cardiff. The food was so tasty and the service was great from Tika. I hadn't booked and they accommodated me straight away, even though they were busy. The atmosphere was good, just enough noise to not be overwhelming. Plus I had a table by the window so I could watch the world go by on the busy street outside.

I would like to give a special compliment to our server Anik. He provided excellent and thoughtful service throughout our meal. He was very polite, patient, and attentive to our needs. Anik also patiently introduced the dishes to us, explained the ingredients and flavors clearly, and gave great recommendations that suited our taste. He checked on us regularly to make sure everything was fine and always responded quickly. His professional and warm attitude made our dining experience very pleasant and comfortable. We highly appreciate his great service and will definitely come back again!

Very good pho spot! I typically get basic pho so I decided to mix it up and I got the brisket curry pho which was a really nice mix between the soup experience of pho and the full flavor of curry. It was packed with herbs and the brisket was nicely cooked, though a bit bland. I got the chicken wings as well which were fantastic! Really good dry seasoning and the sriracha for dipping was good as well. It was a nice setting in there - not too fussy but not a hole in the wall. The servers were helpful and kind and the food came fairly quickly.

Food was amazing, as usual. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a nice midweek meal post-work. Service was excellent, Anik was friendly and welcoming, a credit to his workplace😊 Definitely will be returning!

The staff are excellent, very friendly and have a sense of humour! So nice to see. Food is of a high standard , very tasty. Good that they let dogs in as well. No sooner did we sit down one of the girls came over with a bowl of water. All together excellent and customer service is top notch.

Our server Akin was great. Amazing food as usual and our go to place as perfect for coeliacs! The cocktails were our first time trying and they were gorgeous

Exceptional food and service. Matt was really helpful with recommendations and I ended up going with the Vietnamese Curry which was fantastic. Full of flavour and spice! Accompanied by a fresh, coconut, pineapple and apple juice which was just as good. Will definitely be returning soon! The reviews at Pho speak for themself. 5/5.

We had an amazing time with great food and great staff! We booked for a large group and it was super easy to book and make amendments to the booking. Food was super tasty and filling and the service was great. Shout-out to Amik and Dottie for the amazing service! -From the Green Grocers Club-

We had such a good time! The vibe was great and the staff were super friendly and helpful, explained everything and really looked after us the whole time. We shared a mix of starters between the six of us and had a main each, along with some really nice beers, cocktails and juices. Everything was super tasty and it was a fun way to try loads of different things. Would definitely recommend! ☺️ Thanks again, we’ll definitely be back!

Was an incredible exerinace, i took myself on my first ever solo date and it was everything! i couldn’t of asked for a more welcoming experience. Massive shout out to Tika for looking after me at my time at Pho. The food was unbelievable as always, so refreshing and nourishing ❤️

Went there for late lunch. The food was excellent. Had the baby squid, prawn and pork roll and the morning glory to start. They were 3 excellent tasty dishes. The baby squid was melt in the mouth and the spicy morning glory was a taste sensation. The beef and mushroom pho was absolutely gorgeous. The fish with noodles was a new experience for me and I loved it. The service was excellent and I would highly recommend a visit.

Enjoyed a stunning Gluten Free meal. So delicious, good portion size, great value. Excellent, friendly service, no hard sell, water brought to the table straight away, no need to ask. My daughter described the place as having such a good vibe! Can’t wait to visit again soon.

Thanks Anik for brilliant service. I have tried Betel beef for the first time. He took his time to explain a proper way to eat it to enjoy it more, and it actually made a difference.

Perfect place for whoever loves Asian food (ramen). Great service, great atmosphere. Very tasty and well priced too. We would defo get back there to try some other dishes.

Really good place for Vietnamese food, had a lovely Pho with lots of veggies- good vegan options, and also lovely staff!

The pho is so good! I had the steak pho which was delicious — the beef was a bit thick and a little tough if left in the broth for too long but that broth alone would sell it for me! Friendly staff with a good sense of humour, calm atmosphere for an early lunch, and perfect for solo diners.

Our overall dining experience at Pho last weekend was very nice. From the menu, we tried wok fried noodles and spicy green Vietnamese noodle soup. The noodle soup bowl was full of flavors, spicy and very filling for one person. The cocktails were good too, although they can do better. Icing on the cake was nice ambience, music, excellent service and care in noting down our dietary requirements. Can definitely recommend Cardiff's branch.

Loved the mushroom pho, the papaya salad was great as well. The green detox juice was very refreshing with just the right level of sweetness. Summer rolls were ok but a bit too sticky. Overall a very nice experience, would visit again.

Update: April 19 2024. We returned to Pho...and it was indeed an AWESOME AMAZING experience. As it happens, my first review was only one of rare days. Thanks to the Management, I got an opportunity to visit again and it was amazing. Looking forward to returning again.. Thank you Pho. ✨️ Must try: Carrot Apple Ginger drink and Spicy Martini. The Spring rolls with Peanut sauce was incredible. Earlier review was: Service was not good. Food was spilled, never brought napkins to the table. Will not be looking to return.

My first time trying Vietnamese cuisine and I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction than Pho in Cardiff. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff were incredibly helpful. We mentioned it was our first time exploring Vietnamese food and they took the time to explain how to savour each dish, which made the experience even more enjoyable. For starters, we ordered the squid and beef betal, and both were absolutely amazing. The beef betal, in particular, brought back memories of a kebab we used to have back in our country, which was a pleasant surprise. We haven’t had food from Vietnam before, so we can’t comment on how authentic it is. We know that restaurants often tweak the flavours to cater to local tastes, but honestly, the taste was fantastic. The noodle soup we had as a main was very good. Every dish was a highlight and the portions were generous. We definitely left feeling satisfied. Overall, Pho in Cardiff delivered a fantastic first experience with Vietnamese food. The staff were attentive, the food was delicious and the portions were more than enough. Highly recommend.

We had a lovely tasty fresh meal and an exceptionally friendly service from our waitress May. The large pancake starter with chicken and prawn was lovely as was the healthy fruit/ veg juices. We had a very warm welcome on arrival from the other staff. Very restorative eating after the over indulgences of Christmas. We are regular visitors here!

We had a thoroughly enjoyable meal at Pho Cardiff, thanks to consistently excellent service from our waiter, Victor, who looked after us throughout. From the outset, Victor was attentive, calm and generous in his approach. When a children’s menu order arrived incorrectly, he immediately invited us to keep the dish and ensured the correct one was brought out promptly and without fuss. Later, I ordered a dish I had admired at another table, only to realise it wasn’t quite to my taste — entirely my own error. Despite this, Victor insisted on having it removed from the bill, a gesture that went far beyond what was necessary. As my daughter gets a student discount at Pho, I had planned to give that saving as an additional tip in recognition of the exceptional service we received. However, when I asked to add more, Victor politely declined, explaining that the service charge already included was more than sufficient. That level of integrity and professionalism is rare and deeply impressive. Warm, thoughtful service throughout, genuinely good food, and a dining experience marked by care and honesty. I cannot recommend Pho highly enough.

Great music, great atmosphere, caring and attentive staff, food was incredible!! Almost everything on the menu was Gluten Free, only 2 items that aren’t and the staff all double checked allergies! It was busy and the staff checked in and were all friendly

Went here for an evening meal during a recent trip to Cardiff. We didn't book despite the restaurant being busy however the staff were very welcoming and quickly found us a table. There is a great choice of food on the menu and we didn't have to wait long for our meals once we'd ordered. The food was excellent and great value for money. The staff couldn't do enough for us and were fantastic. Look forward to visiting again in the future.

We always come to Pho, Cardiff it’s always great food and great customer service every time. We had Viktor looked after us this time round he was attentive, polite and friendly made us feel so welcome. We will never go a trip in Cardiff without a visit to Pho.

Arrived only 2 minutes after opening, and in less than 15 minutes we had our meal, drinks, and sides in front of us. Absolutely delicious, vegan options available, and they allow you to change things on the menu if you don't like it. We were provided with extras (bean sprouts, some herbs, lime, and chilli) and the waitress explained what everything was. optional cutlery if you can't use chopsticks, and the staff are very accommodating, friendly, and quick. 11/10, absolutely coming again!

The king prawn curry noodle soup was delicious & service was great - as it was our first time our server explained to us what each of the green side salad bits were and how to add them to the dish. A bit surprised to see a 12.5% gratuity charge on our bill ‘which we could ask to remove’… not a nice position to put people in. I would have left a tip anyway but 12.5% as an automatic charge is steep and unfair for people

Really enjoyed my food! I got the hot and spicy triple mushroom but I wanted it to be a bit spicer. I didn't mind too much and added the chilli oil! Staff was lovely

Not tried Vietnamese before this, wasn’t really sure what to expect so sampled a few of the starters which were tasty.. our eyes were bigger than our belly so couldn’t finish the mains. Fortunately they bagged the remainder up for us to take home. Only let down was the atmosphere it’s quite dark and quiet.

Delicious food with good flavor. Absolutely need to make a res to get seated. We walked in, got told they had no seats, walked out, made a res for 10 minutes later and got seated immediately. Our server was wonderful and the food had exceptional flavor.

Food excellent, Concerige finding us a last minute table really friendly and helpful noted others met by other welcoming members of the team were not so kindly welcomed! Detrimental to our experience was the continuous door opening for couriers on bikes who parked bike in entrance with lights flashing and excessive cold air allowed in needing us to sit with coats on. Our server Anik was very knowledgeable and recommendations were very helpful.

Food was tasty and plentiful. Tried some beautiful dishes here. Vegetarian options were yummy. Had a lovely mocktail. It was extremely busy in here and we waited around alot for plate clear up, dessert menu and the bill. The bill was one ive not seen before! Added an optional service charge! Then continued with a note after it saying if you were unhappy with your server then we ask for it to be deleted! Alot of pressure! I would have deleted it to be honest but the company i was with wouldn't so I paid it. This way of askingong for a tip is alot! Anyways, back to food, I took some pictures, the main was fully loaded with chilli which was a little unexpected. Starters were so yummy, would have been happy to eat them over and over. Dessert was delicious also.

Tried because of the 4+ stars. But a bit disappointed on the food. Soup is not hot enough. It is good but not delicious.

On this occasion we visited Pho for a little 40th birthday meal for a friend. Whilst the food was full of flavour (and is the reason for 3 stars rather than 2), the service was seriously lacking. Our server was friendly enough, but we hardly saw anyone. When our starters arrived we were missing one. After over 10 minutes, and not being able to see anyone in our section, we had to try and get the attention of anyone to notify someone to rectify it. After being served our main course we sat with our plates infront of us for an extended period of time. No one came to check to see if everything was ok with our food, no additional drink orders were taken, and no one came to check we had finished. We, again, had to find someone to ask about coffees and deserts. When our deserts arrived the banana fritters were still raw, and we had to wait to have these changed, by which point the ice cream had melted and no new ice cream brought out. Despite there being a number of tables in the restaurant occupied, there was a distinct lack of service, and some of the staff sitting and refilling items, even though it wasn't the end of the night. Empty plates sat on tables with people waiting to pay. We were in the restaurant far longer than expected because of all of the delay, yet only the initial drink order taken and no one to ask for more so we didn't bother. I do not think a service charge should be added to the bill as this was not deserved. This should be something that is given for good service, not expected. Had the bill come to me first I would have asked this to be removed. Frustratingly we had timed our seating to miss people leaving the arena following the Peter Kay gig, but due to all of the delay we had to extend our parking and were then stuck in traffic for almost an hour, whereas we should have been able to avoid this with plenty of time.

We trust this place with serious allergy requirements. Usually good.. Then tonight, our delivery order my daughter tells me there is meat in her egg rice. She wasn't wrong... see photo

No body serve at the entrance on SAT. It doesn’t come with bean sprouts. Taste bad . It's not authentic, it's totally dumbed down for foreigners .
