Tom Giblins Irish Pub Carlsbad Reviews
One of our favorite must-haves when we're in the area! Attentive & friendly service , stellar menu with lots of choices, vegetarian options included. Inside and outside seating, with sports on the TVs! Also - good drinks >:)
Jenny and Lauren were great! Good food, good happy hour specials. Excellent service!!
Hard to beat the BOGO burger Tuesday special. Great tasting burgers, averaging $18-20. Drinks are a tad bit expensive, even during happy hour, but you're in Carlsbad 😉 Enjoy!
We went in after New Village Arts. Needed late night food. We had a flight of French Fries! 3 seasonings 3 dipping sauces, lots of fries! Im hooked!
Went to Hennesy’s for the Thursday Smashburger special - food was great! Ashley and Nate at the bar were awesome. We’ve been back a few times since and an always have great experience. Just wanted to leave a review and say thanks to everyone at Hennesy’s’
Local favorite of ours! We come in at least once every two weeks. Friendly staff and good food. Fryer is always on and beer is poured all day 🤘🏼
We went for the car show and also September Paddy's Day with live Irish music. Staff was on their game, food was great, bands were good and plenty of TV's to watch all NFL games with a nfl happy hour menu. We'll be back!! Ken K.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Lauren is absolutely amazing! She goes above and beyond every single time, making sure everyone feels welcome and taken care of. Her customer service is unmatched—she’s consistent, friendly, and always has a smile on her face. Whether it’s remembering details from your last visit or just creating a fun, comfortable atmosphere, she truly stands out behind the bar. Lauren is the kind of person who turns a good day into a great experience!!!
Attractive and tasty Philly cheesesteak sandwich was especially nice with some au jus. Savory beef and complimenting peppers. The reuben might look somewhat pedestrian, but it was surprisingly flavorful. Tangy and tart kraut, vividly flavored corned beef, a subtle richness from the Thousand Island, and the rye toast itself was impressive. The beef was thickly sliced (I prefer thin or shaved), but it was tender and juicy. Open late, even on a Tuesday, which made nearby curbside parking easy (can be very challenging to park at peak times), but the small lot behind the restaurant is plenty for the non-busy hours. For my late Tuesday visit, the dining room was tranquil with only a few families present, but it was not dead. A nice playlist of classic rock (Rolling Stones, ELO, Rush, ...) was piping in at a comfortable, room-filling volume. Service was friendly and attentive. 10-minute wait for two sandwiches ordered at the register. For a take-out order it was a quick first visit but pleasant and delicious. Looking forward to a chance to dine in and try one of the burgers and other options.
You can always trust Hennessy's to have good food and decent drinks. We popped in here for an appetizer and a couple of drinks before heading to dinner and we're able to find a seat at the bar right away. The staff is super friendly and the breakfast shots that we decided to have at 4 p.m. or awesome as well. The atmosphere is that of an Irish bar more or less. It's nothing to write home about but they are super consistent with both their food and their drinks and everyone who works here seems to be happy to be there. We will definitely come back.
Wanted to try something new in town and I’m so glad we came here for an early lunch. My family and I shared an appetizer of loaded nachos then my husband tried their French onion soup and got Shepards pie which he loved. I got eggs Benedict and they were able to add brisket to them (for an extra $2.00) and it was so worth it. I hadn’t had eggs Benedict with brisket since I’d been to the Ranch Cafe in Albuquerque, NM over a year ago now and it was very nostalgic and I was elated to just be able to try it again. Our blue moons were served in cold glasses so that’s always a plus and my daughter loved her Nutella stuffed, banana french toast. It looked so good and she was generous enough to share a bite and I can confirm: it was amazing! Our waitress was nice but sometimes could’ve been a bit more attentive. There wasn’t many other tables while we were there. Like 2 others and some older men at the bar, then some more people came as we were getting ready to leave. Overall, it was a traditional looking Irish pub with a beautiful skylight and great food.
Jenny was awesome. Handled a bunch of other drink orders without ever letting my glass dry up! Totally on top of it even though she was busy. 5 stars for Jenny. The food was okay, I remember it being a lot better. I haven't been here in years though so it might just resonate in my head as being really good. The atmosphere is great. I believe they have live music sometimes. Maybe skip dinner but definitely go see Jenny for drinks!
Had the Hennessey’s Giant Burger with sweet potato fries and the pan-seared salmon with mashed potatos and broccoli and were pretty good. Kitchen closes at midnight on the weekends which is cool. Service was good. Recommend the Captain Paul’s Caramel Delight
Irish Pub... Nice happy hour. Good service. Food is bar food, but nothing wrong with that at a bar ;)
Great food. Also a big fan of the atmosphere! Only reason for not giving five stars is the live music is really loud.
This is an interesting little local bar and grill in the heart of Carlsbad village. It is obviously a place where a lot of the locals go. The burgers and the sandwiches looked really good, so we tried a little bit of everything. I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. Don't expect a fancy restaurant or anything of that nature, but they do have really good food and a great bar.
Nice looking tavern. Food was ok, drink prices were high, for what you got. Service was a challenge, but it was late.
So we used to come here after work for the burgers and some beers especially on 2 for 1 burger night. We always came before midnight and today we came in at a little past 11pm and we find out their kitchen is closed. Apparently during the week they no longer serve food past 11pm. Guess we'll find another spot for food after work. Sucks.
They added random drinks to my tab and forced me to pay for them. Got regulars at the bar to also talk smack to me while I tried to explain that I didn't order those drinks and I shouldn't be charged for them. Horrible experience.
