Lanza's Cafe is a cozy, community-focused cafe with a fun social calendar and eclectic decor. Customers rave about the delicious coffee, amazing food, and welcoming atmosphere. It's a great place to feel at home and enjoy a vibrant environment.
Tip: The cafe has a fun social calendar and many spaces to sit, but it is not a quiet place.
I love the community elements of this café. The events calendar, the aspirational writings in the bathroom etc. And they have lots of great spaces to sit, but it is not a quiet space! Which is fine. Just for those wishing a more intimate environment, to work on projects, it’s a bit loud. My only complaint is that I wish they had a wider selection of pastries. Or things that were not pastry-like? Just some different varieties of food. Overall, my Cortado was very good! Also, it would’ve been lovely to sit outside but it was so darn hot! i’m certain that doubles their seating in the milder months.
I came into Lanza's looking for a walkable coffee place near me but instead got met with a relaxing yet jointly studious environment. I sat at the bar and drank my coffee peacefully and fell into conversation with a nice lady sitting beside me about just life in general. Come to find out, that was one of the owners!! Definitely recommend!!!
I visited here only once (so far!!! I WILL RETURN-was just visiting town). It was months ago… I remember loving it and asking the sweet barista if she had any stickers. It’s kind of my thing… In new towns I like to visit coffee shops and if I like them, I get a sticker and put it on my water bottle to remember the place so I know to go back there :-)… the barista said that they were out but would be ordering more soon. She asked me for my address and said she would send me one when she got more… Like I said it’s been months :-) Today I received this in the mail see attached photo… It made my day it made me feel so good to get this letter and to feel remembered. Customer service is very important to me. As I also am in customer service. Lanza Cafe remembered me. That makes me smile. Great job guys. I will definitely be back and highly recommend ❤️❤️❤️ Included with the letter are two of the cutest stickers will also attach photo.
Cozy, homey, warm, local-roots coffee shop with a fun social calendar! Very eclectic. Mugs & furniture are mismashed, food options are very “ski chalet meets study core” (burritos, chili, pizza, sandwiches, pastries) Coffee, matcha, hot cocoa, brew coffee, large herbal tea selection, wine, beer, $9-11 smoothies, milk options (whole, oat, almond, soy, low fat, non-fat, etc). Italian! Wifi, some outlets, indoor & outdoor seating, great work working and studying. Usually packed during exams / on weekends. Table-sharing is very normal. They have fun nights like Sunday jazz and trivia. Very communal feel. Books sprawled. Decorated for Christmas. Really amazing spot 🤍 been going here for years! Also, woman owned :)
Came here for the first time with my sister (after driving past it so many times!) , Lanza’s Cafe is such a neat place! Coffee was delicious, food was amazing and satisfying, the atmosphere was welcoming and I didn’t feel out of place. Will be returning soon!
Good food, good music. Lots of options! Will be back for more. Nice community atmosphere.
Met one of the owners Catherine and she was great! She took some time to sit down with me and explain the history of their restaurant. The cappuccino I had was delicious. Great space for coffee in the morning and to sit down to work on the computer. They even serve beer and wine!
What a cozy little spot! Coffee was amazing 🤩
Lanzas is the best coffeeshop in the durham-chapel hill area. I drive 30 minutes everyday to come do work here. To understand why just look at the facade. A cardinal on an Italian flag. Harmony between the ancient ways of coffee - of the motherland Italia is welded with southern flair and hospitality. Only in Carrboro could you find such a well crafted combination of the extravagant with the simple. Lanzas is socialism working. Lanzas is Bernie sanders authoritarian. Lanzas is democracy manifest. Lanzas is. The warm coziness is perfect and not replicated anywhere else. They have lame food/pasteries and serve counter culture coffee which is okay. BUT they have a ton of different kinds of mugs which I love and they Make great drinks. ALSO they have an absolutely amazing patio. It has such good list, great tables and is adequately shielded from the elements. Heck yes this place is AWESOME. Through some sickening mad science they have imbedded chess boards in the table. this seems illegal to me - though im no Lawyer (yet). Tons of board games - ancient games. The bathroom is a nice escape. East to park.
Really, it's a lovely cafe, I come every time I am in town, great way to start my day with nice inside, outside, and patio dining.
Such a fun cafe games brews and coffee!!!
Owners and staff are really friendly. Atmosphere is pleasant and there's always good music on. Food and drinks are reasonably priced. A local staple
One of my favorite coffee shops in Chapel Hill/Carrboro. The eclectic decor and weekly events are highlights and the kombucha on tap is always top notch.
Adorable cafe with lots of comfy seating. The barista was also lovely! They also have fresh made chai unlike starbucks... the apple chai was sooooo good.
When my best friend came in town we went here for tea and got the chocolate scone which was DIVINE! This place is so cozy and has the best vibes indoors and outside! A lovely gem and I will definitely make this a frequent spot to hangout and relax. Thanks for creating such a friendly and welcoming space :)
Excellent cozy cafe to refocus on work, which was what I needed to do! I don't go often, but each time I've found the customer service hospitable, the tea & coffee menu is extensive & eclectic, and the pastry options are always plenty!
Well crafted coffee and a surprisingly comprehensive menu. The staff and decor both contribute to a welcoming atmosphere that is serene and approachable in a way that coffee shops sometimes aren’t. I felt comfortable here.
Quality espresso drinks served by skilled baristas plus an extensive coffee menu. A few vegetarian and vegan dishes on special (possibly also seasonal). Pastries. The outdoor seating design makes excellent use of limited space and it’s my second favorite thing about Lanza’s after the coffee. (The bulletin board featuring the Pups of Lanza’s is third favorite.) Arrive early to snag a table inside. A lot of people remote work here and it’s usually pretty crowded. Seating is also pretty densely packed. That’s not a complaint – just a heads up for ADHDers like me and our focus-challenged brethren who can find it difficult to work when there’s a proximate distraction. Today there was a guy seated at the bar who had basically set up a mini office. He had two screens in use. Including a full monitor on a stand. And not including his phone, although I deduced that was also in use (teleconference). I found it amusing to watch while I was waiting to order. In retrospect, I wish I’d captured a bit of that as a video clip because I know the perfect subReddit…🤣 But it would’ve made it difficult for me to concentrate if I had been seated in the vicinity (or working behind the bar).
Cool, chill place to hang out in beautiful Carrboro. Lots of well labelled vegan options. Dog friendly. Great coffee, tea, kombucha, and several beers (far too heavily weighted on the IPA/hoppy side of the beer spectrum in my opinion). Weekly events and seating for small groups inside, outside, and in between. Parking available at the back, but not a ton.
Hope to get photos next time! This was EXACTLY the kind of place you look for as a student in a college town or, in our case, two girlfriends with a whole morning to just drink coffee and read fun books! Don't misunderstand me, this isn't the college cafe vibe with social clicks and post millennial drinks, it's the kind of hip and cool that only comes maturity and identity. Music, trivia, community classes, TONS of wide open spaces with cozy chairs and couches that feel made for you. As a lifelong student myself, Lanza's had spaces for ANY kind of mood you might be in! Hungry too? They curate a wide selection of vegan and gluten free options along with lovely, flour-full foods for you lucky people who can still digest it, spanning all tastebud needs from healthy meals to tasty treats. Huge selection of tea, and a super fun shelf of mugs jewelry and trinkets. Go try it out. Enjoy!
The best spot in Carrboro! Super cozy inside, great outdoor seating space w/ nice lighting, the staff is amazing, they have vegan + gluten free options (labeled!), and the coffee + kombucha on tap is wonderful! We love Lanza’s so very much.
Awesome casual coffee house, great bake goods
Hands down the best coffee shop around. The coffee is amazing, but they have so much more, including teas, beer, wine, and an abundant food menu. I especially love their vegan food options.
Stopped in right at closing to grab a coffee before a show. Staff was very friendly and service was quick. The cream cheese Danish was freaking delicious, as was the joe. Sweet little spot!
Such a cute cafe. The atmosphere is so welcoming and the staff is friendly. The coffee drinks are delicious! And I love that they offer gluten free and vegan options. Definitely going back again!
Love the vibe. Great coffee!!
A community favorite! Gets busy during the semester. Lots of seating, community events, tasty food and drinks
Wonderful cafe with cozy and welcoming ambiance, variety of coffee and tea offerings. Friendly staff, and my fav is the cold beet salad! Family and student-friendly. Highly recommend 💛
Lanza’s is my WFH office and home away from home. From the adorable mugs getting a second chance at their cafe, to the wonderful staff and owners and pride flags everywhere, this place is a cozy retreat from the chaos that is the outside world. Seeing the new monthly calendar always put a smile on my face, and I’d get excited every time I saw a new poster of a hosted event. I went to Lanza’s almost every weekday for the last year and I get misty-eyed when I think back and see how much it has grown and how deeply important this coffee shop is to the community.
By far my favorite cafe in all of North Carolina, hands down. This spot has it all: great food, comfortable atmosphere, friendly staff, you name it. I highly recommend the lavender lemonade.
Love love this quaint but stimulating coffee shop!! It's so cozy, laid back, and the walls are covered with amazing work by local artists. Their menu is awesome and offers coffee for all types of coffee drinkers. I didn't try their food, but it looks delish. I'll definitely visit again:))
CG and I were at Lanza’s this morning, 7/3, for breakfast before heading home to the mountains. We want to leave a glowing review of our experience. The two women working were beyond fabulous!! We had custom breakfast requests and they were so much fun to work with. They creatively satisfied our palates and spirits. We found Lanza’s the last time we were in Carrboro. We fell in love with the ambience—we feel at home at Lanza’s and plan to return when we are back in Carrboro. Thank you for bringing such an environment into our world to share!!! Blessings galore with your continued adventures, Kathy and CG
Great coffee shop near UNC campus. Plenty of space inside and out, great for remote work. Very nice staff and delicious drinks and pastries. Highly recommend.
Super cozy coffee shop / cafe. Melty cheese naan with pesto was awesome.
Got at iced latte, croissant, and sticker! The coffee was good and I would say it was packed in there but I didn’t mind it and very kind staff!
Lanza's has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and a friendly staff. The coffee is great and they have macadamia milk (which I've never tried before but I totally enjoyed!) Their snacks looked delicious, and I'm definitely getting one next time I'm there. Also, they have such a great little shop on the fringes! I believe it's local artisans, and tea supplies, and a nice nook for unique gifts. Oh! They also do an open mic! Great stuff, highly recommend!
Outstanding espresso, coffee, pastries, quiche, sandwiches, and much more...but just as important, the staff is extremely friendly and yet very efficient - they'll make you feel welcomed, but they also keep the line moving and work hard to serve you quickly as well as serve the next folks in line. Also, the ambiance is amazing, indoors and out. Great for studying or chatting with friends, and the trivia nights are a blast!
Lovely place, just feels you are right at home!! 100% recommend it! :)
Great place for a coffee and something sweet. Love the atmosphere, and decor. Would not eat there though, better options are available
Reilly’s wine tasting was amazing—her picks were fantastic and the charcuterie pairing was delicious. Definitely recommend! Also the general ambiance of Lanza’s was so warm and inviting
Love this place! Went recently for a Jazz night that was awesome. Great friendly atmosphere. Nice selection of food and drink. Fun stack of board games. Definitely a great place to hang out. Parking is sorta behind, and the bathrooms are through a hallway, so it has a bit of a learning curve (maybe more signage could help), but overall an awesome awesome place.
A Carrboro gem. The espresso shot and pumpkin bar were delicious.
I have been going to this little, quaint cafe for a long time. It has changed hands, but remains a quiet, clean, and welcoming place. Everyone is friendly, the coffee is great, and you can feel the small town vibes as you pull into the gravel parking lot. Always a fun place.
Nice place to meet friends, study, or just hang out. Great vibe on a Sunday. Breakfast bagel and coffee was were good. Definitely recommend checking it out.
Moved to Carrboro recently and found this spot with my sister. It’s a great little coffee shop with a perfect atmosphere to get things done or hangout by yourself or in a group. I don’t drink coffee really, but the Cinnamon Toast Crunch latte that I tried from the specials menu was fantastic! They also have amazing pastries, especially the pumpkin spice and coffee cake muffins. The new management here is refreshingly nice and truly seem to care about what they’re doing! All around great experience
Love the atmosphere and the various tea/ coffee cups around. One of the rare coffee shops around opened very early which is a must for me since getting off from 3rd shift and need that little extra to soothe my early morning cravings before heading to my Airbnb. Service was excellent at all times I’ve visited especially the recommendations. Thank you!!
Cozy spot with plenty of room, yet not so loud you can’t focus or have a conversation. A huge variety of food options, vegan and otherwise, especially for a cafe! The friendly service adds to the overall cozy environment.
Love Lanza’s! They have great indoor and outdoor seating with plenty of space and it’s a great place to meet with people, just sit for a cup of coffee, or do work. They have a lot of Knick knacks and books and board games that are fun to look through. Parking can be a little confusing, just make sure you park behind the building or in the spots designated for Lanza’s on the side of the building (though parking in the back is a bit easier in my opinion). Lovely place ❤️
This is a nice place to relax for a cup of coffee. Didn't eat there but I was surprised by the many menu options. We went on a Sunday afternoon noon and it was pretty crowded inside but plenty of seating outside. They had a live bluegrass jam going on outside.
Top 3 cold brew in Chapel Hill Matcha is ok, not strong Lentil soup & chia pudding amazing Good vegan options
This is clearly the best coffee shop in town. The staff is great. The food is great. I don't know a more calming and pleasant place to be than this. They also have a great chess night on Wednesday that my son loves.
cutest coffee shop in carrboro! great spot for coffee, tea, or a drink. very kind owners, committed to being a space for the community
Very cute, nice, and clean place to have coffee and hangout. In the reviews, someone was complaining about being there 2 times in one week and not getting attention in 20 min. Just wanna say it is been more than 20 times I go this place and got friendly attention by staff in < 2 min (unless there is a line to be wait a little more). So, highly recommend. 😊
Super chill cafe with a huge assortment of teas and also excellent coffee. Nice selection of pastries and savory foods. Seating inside and out.
Lanzas has always had the nicest staff and atmosphere out of the cafes in the area. The drinks are consistently good and well priced. It has become a regular stop in my week because of how kind the baristas are and how great of a place it is to do work. Keep up the good work y’all
Lanza’s Cafe is easily one of my favorite coffee spots in the Chapel Hill–Carrboro area. The space is incredibly cozy — perfect for studying, catching up with friends, or just enjoying a quiet moment with a great cup of coffee. Their drinks are consistently excellent, and the pastries are always fresh and delicious. In the warmer months, their outdoor patio is a huge bonus. It’s a relaxed, welcoming space that makes you want to stay longer than planned. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, Lanza’s is one of those places that feels instantly comfortable and reliably good. Highly recommend!
Lanza’s is one of my favorite places to go for working, reading, or just snagging a treat to-go. The outdoor seating and enclosed patio are great on sunny days. They always have very yummy pastries and lots of fun, rotating latte flavors- the banana bread latte with their store-made flavoring was amazing! They have great decaf options, lots of unique teas. The owners and staff are all friendly too. One of the spots that make Carrboro a great place to live!
So cozy and a great place to study. Very sweet staff and my coffee is always so good. This is definitely a spot that’s more geared for homey vibes over modern. This place has character and I love going.
Lanza's cafe is an absolute staple. The vibes are amazing, the community is fantastic, and the staff have are so much fun. The owners, Miss Catherine and Miss Christina, are incredibly kind and caring for their staff and their community. I can't recommend it enough.
I’m what you’d call a “regular” at Lanza’s-and I’m thrilled I found it. The owners and baristas feel like extended family, the vibe is hip, eclectic, and fun, and the outdoor space is incredible—beautifully kept and perfect for lingering. Lanza’s is basically Cheers:everyone knows your name, but you’re also allowed to get work done without committing to a life story. Plus, there’s a bar-so whether you want a coffee, a beer, or a cocktail, Lanza’s has you covered. Honestly, Carrboro wouldn’t be the same without it. 🍻☕💚
Really cool spot and I absolutely loved the salted caramel latte. And the cream cheese danish is to die for. Can't wait to visit again the next time Im in town
Great local coffee shop vibe! Super fun hang out spot to chill and have a conversation. Lots of outdoor and indoor seating. It does get crowded though in the winter when it's cold outside, so can't guarantee you find a spot. They have a ton of board games that people seem to actually use! My only negative comment is that the hot chocolate is probably a 5/10. Please make it less watered down!
It is an interesting coffee shop, but I love the hours and environment. While I dont go as often since I live in Raleigh, it is still a good location for studying and hanging out.
I visit Lanza’s every chance I get. They’ve got the coziest vibe, the sweetest people, and a large selection of great meals, pastries, and drinks! It’s a fun spot for any occasion, and I’m always excited to return :)
¡He estado yendo aquí durante años! Además, propiedad de una mujer :)
Buena comida, buena música. ¡Muchas opciones! Volveré por más. Buen ambiente comunitario.
Lanza's (previously Honeysuckle Cafe) is a wonderful coffee shop to dine in. A good study spot and open late which are gems, although their bakery items are quite overpriced (~5 for a muffin). Coffee is okay. Lanza's also hosts events such as Chess meetups and Tarot Cards in the evenings, contributing to it's local feel.
I liked it because I got tea. I don't know about the coffee but I see they use those Yuck syrups but let's just say I will go there for anything except something containing those commercial syrups. But the homemade Syrup is good. Also, I will not advise the use of 9th Street bakery pastries because they use some problem ingredients.
Review updated September 2021: When this place was Honeysuckle Cafe, I refused to be a patron here after how they treated their staff when switching from Looking Glass and reviewed it accordingly. As far as I'm able to tell, Lanza's current ownership has tangential relations to the previous owners, but is otherwise independent and appears to not have any actual business or financial ties. I feel more ethically confident supporting this place until proven otherwise. Objectively speaking, the indoor space is cozy if a little on the cramped side, but it's a perfectly fine establishment and has arguably the best outdoor seating arrangements in the area.
Mebanesville the band was good. Food was ok and service was ok. A bit pricey for what it was. Cool place. Really a coffee shop and bar with beer and wine. Enjoyed the coffee. Would not eat there again other than a snack
Nice staff and atmosphere, great seating options. Will be back soon -- couple suggestions: cappucino could be a bit less milky and the glass mugs are challenging to hold when hot. Different croissant vendor could be game changer too.
The dirty chai was SO delicious, and also the chia seed pudding. The inside of the shop is adorable too!! The only issue I had was with the service. The barista we talked to, I think her name started with an M. My husband and I were talking to her, and she dismissed me the entire conversation, and was overly flirtatious with him. She also just seemed completely disinterested in her job. Seriously though, the food and tea was and always is fantastic.
The dirty chia was delicious! The customer service was great 👍🏽 the blueberry muffin was delicious .. but the croissants were cold and dry.. she did warm it but it might have made it dryer :( … and I only came because I thought they had warm buttery croissants … I’ll give them another try one day… kinda pricey too. I spent $30 on 2 croissants, a Chia, A Blueberry Muffin, and 1 Chocolate chip cookie lol that’s usually what my little family spends on a full pancake breakfast.
Great atmosphere, good coffee and good food - overall a really cool coffee shop vibe with lots of options for outdoor seating. It’s just too expensive and understaffed. Waits/lines are long and it feels like you’re in everyone’s way while you stand around waiting. Even at times with less traffic. A runner and a number system would make a huge difference IMO. It would help justify the wait times and prices. There must be a reason this process isn’t used but from a customer’s perspective, it’s a needed change. I think if I were to come in and pay $9-10 for latte in a mug and a scone then get a number and have my order brought to the table, it would be 5 stars but when the total is $12-13 (before tip) and no server/runner, I hesitate a bit. All that said, if you’re okay with those 2 cons, everything else seems great.
My son does not follow people home and does not ask to buy him things. He's a friendly guy that's all. The owners control who people talk to. How do they know who he talks to and what he talks about. If customer doesn't want to have a conversation they should just say so and owners should mind their own business. Not true what one of the owners say. Drinks are good. Pastries are good. Why single out one person?
I love the atmosphere and events but why was my small dirty chai $10 babe…
Very comfortable and Lgbt friendly cafe. Wi-Fi is free to use. Nice interior. The coffee was very tasty and fragrant. However, I wanted you to explain that there is a charge for changing milk and adding syrup.
I’m rescinding my original review due to the fact that Lanza’s management responded immediately to it in an incredibly professional and kind manner. Clearly they are dedicated to giving customers the best experience possible, even when they might be dissatisfied. You don’t see this kind of customer service anymore. Thank you, Lanza’s.
It’s a lovely spot frequented by an eclectic crowd. The products are excellent. But. Despite detailed orders taken by the till person (eg lots of extra room in my Americano or butter with heated scone) followed by payment and tip the info never seems to get communicated to the actual barista / server at the other end (spilling over americano etc) . So: suggest tell the staff to listen and communicate to each other adequately. Then this place would get top marks. That’s on the owner / manager as the staff often seem harried and busy.
Really cozy atmosphere, a nice place to relax and study but the latte wasn't great. A lot of foam instead of the silky texture of a good latte. I would still recommend the place but just not the lattes.
I rarely write reviews, particularly negative ones, but my girlfriend and I came here and normally I really love Lanzas. But the worker got every single thing we ordered wrong. I got a plain bagel when I had ordered an everything, my girlfriend got a bagel that was stale and not what the employee said was their seasonal bagel, and she also got her eggs fried when she asked for scrambled. The food and drinks here are VERY pricey so if I’m going to order there, I would hope there’s a bit more attention paid to detail.
Several issues with the orders for our group (wrong size drink prepared by the person who asked if I wanted a 12 oz or 16 oz — and then didn’t seem to know that I ordered the 16 oz, muffin not heated as requested, another muffin not prepared, a third drink missed altogether….). Overall, it was OK, but the food & drink was not really worth the price tag.
Lovely place with good coffee. Every food item I’ve had (soup, quiche, oatmeal) has been served tepid or at room temperature. The menu does not specify that the regular oatmeal is instant, and it’s terrible as instant oatmeal would be. When I spoke to the employee about my concern, she seemed offended by my question.
I have really enjoyed going to this shop for some time because the indoor/outdoor space layout is great, but I did have a strange experience a few weeks ago where the barista accidentally gave me a peanut butter chocolate chip cookie when I asked for a regular choc chip cookie. As someone with a peanut allergy, I could taste the difference between the two when I bit into the cookie. After I spit the bite out and told the barista, the barista corrected me and said that they had in fact not given me a peanut butter cookie. To their credit, they did give me a bagel for free in exchange for the cookie, but 3 suggestions here for this shop: 1) Mistakes are just handled better when you own them. I used to work in a coffee shop in the area and we bought the same cookies as this place, so I'm fairly sure I was given the wrong item (my slowly swelling tongue was also pretty telling). Kinda weird to get pushback when your body is starting to have an allergic reaction! 2) Individually wrap and label all food items with common allergies. 3) Don't store food items with common allergies side by side with other foods (as was the case with the peanut butter cookie and the regular choc chip cookie). Still like the shop and still go - just wanted to pass this along. Thanks!
Seriously, hire some more staff. I love this cafe but it is unacceptable for every single weekend to have a line out the door and only one staffed barista. Coffee is decent, but it’s not worth waiting in line for 20+ minutes while one person is run absolutely ragged. HIRE MORE EMPLOYEES! We all see what’s going on here, the owners are cutting salaries so they can make more profit. It’s deplorable. Maybe take some of that damn profit and HIRE ANOTHER BARISTA!
The coffee and atmosphere are great but they are always understaffed. The management need to support their workers better. It's ridiculous to have a line out the door and only have one person working. That's no way to treat your employees.
The trivia night has a good turn out but you can't hear the questions because everyone is talking . So money spent on tea and tea bag thrown away when wanted to keep twice. Went from hot to cold just for variety at my request. Other people keep their tea bags. Now these owners have accused my son of cornering patrons; following them home. Their blaming their lack of customers on him when school is our for the summer. He doesn't have a car. His vision is bad from an accident and he is a friendly guy trying to make friends. So these owners made him a scapegoat for their troubles. How bizarre!!! Chairs aren't comfortable.
I really want to like this place, I even went twice in one week but ultimately, I won't be back. The baristas' lack attention to detail and don't provide timely customer service. These kinds of things are pretty easy to overlook until one ends up waiting 20 minufes to simply get the attention of the individual behind the counter. This would also be easier to stomach if they weren't charging 4 bucks for drip coffee and 5 bucks for scone. There are a ton of coffee shops around the area, I was hoping to make this my regular but it seems I need to find a different one. Edit: you asked me to email with specifics but didn't include an email address. Would you like to share one?
Good ambience, but ridiculously overpriced. Paid $33 for a really small, mediocre pizza and 2 small glasses of kombucha. Was left hungry and irritated afterwards.
I was looking forward to visiting this coffee cafe based on my friends reviews. Unfortunately I was met by unfriendly staff who were more attentive to their friends visiting them while working than me and my partner. If your looking for good customer service I would look elsewhere.
Changing my previous review after today- coffee was tasty but the customer service at this place was absolutely awful. Person taking the order seemed nice but didn't speak the entire time, I was assuming shy on that one. But, after waiting 20 minutes for a bagel and sandwich we were asked what we were waiting on and told them and they said it was coming right out and that they had a lot of food orders, the entire time we were sitting there only one kitchen order came out before ours and the rest were all pastries. 10 more minutes go by amd the bagel comes out on a plate (we ordered to go) and the girl giving out the food was so unapologetic and smug about the entire process I really should've just asked for a refund. The bagel finally comes out again in a bag and they said have a good day, so we said we still had a sandwich and she rolled her eyes and said it's coming, another 5 minutes. Meanwhile her (red bandana) and the guy (tiny mustache) were giggling and cutting up behind the bar, darting they're eyes in our direction. I don't like being assumed I'm the subject of conversation- but it was kind of obvious. Like damn, it doesn't take 40 minutes to make a bagel and cream cheese and if you were really that backed up maybe say "I'm sorry for the wait" instead of "I mean yeah we're busy" as if I don't notice the only 1 food order come out before me? I've worked as a barista for over 6 years and in customer service for over 15 so as understanding as I am. This was enough that I will never return to a coffee shop I once loved.
I went on a Sunday afternoon, January 4 2026. It was nice out, so I sat outside. Someone decided that a beautiful Sunday afternoon with lots of customers outside was a great time to leaf blow the area. I was having leaves blown directly at/on me while trying to read. I got fed up and left when I had to blow dust and leaves off my computer twice and had to dump my tea out because it had dust, leaves, and a hair blown into it. Who decides to loudly blow leaves at their paying customers on a beautiful, busy afternoon?
