Neal's Deli Carrboro Reviews
Delicious! Ordered my sandwich for pickup but I accidentally scheduled it for a later time than I wanted. The lady working helped me and made it a great first experience! Will definitely come back and try more.
Dropped by for Saturday morning breakfast and it was amazing. The pork chop and gravy biscuit special was unique, rich, and delicious. And omg the pastrami was so tender and flavorful. The service was friendly and welcoming. Best breakfast in town and beyond!
Looking very forward to trying this place today! Their pastrami has very good comments - came and indeed it is very good!! Service was great! Very friendly and welcoming. Their Pastrami is in house made from scratch. Special!
Excellent spot next door has a pool table! chill environment with outdoor seating. Look forward to trying ALL the food!
Fresh and delicious! The sliced tomatoes on top of my BLT were amazing!! Best sandwiches I've had in years...thank you for the cheerful service and the love you put into making me a sammich! So so satisfying!!
Bucket list spot for me in the area and it didn’t disappoint! Great quality food and my new favorite sandwich spot. The muffuletta sandwich was killer.
Made my way to Neal's Deli to savor the flavor of its corned beef, roasted sweet potatoes, and roasted turnips. May not be the traditional St. Patrick's Day fare, but it was simply perfect for me. My daughter said her Cliff's country ham biscuit was awesome!
A great find by Taste of the Carolina's restaurant tour I participated in. Homemade and very delicious pastrami, specially seasoned roasted sweet potatoes are two of many outstanding specialities. A bit hard to see from the street. Directly across from Wendy's.
Have been coming here for years, solid local spot to grab a great sandwich
We have loved Neal’s for years, but after having worked with them to have them cater our wedding welcome party the Neal’s now holds an even more special place in our hearts. Their food is among the best of the best in town and their team is incredibly professional and dedicated to the community. They went above and beyond to develop a meaningful menu with us for our guests, (including catering to dietary requirements in a delicious way), and our guests truly couldn’t get enough of their food! Thank you, Neal’s Team and Heather!
What an absolutely delicious place this was. I had one of the best breakfast sandwiches of my life here. The biscuit was absolutely perfect, crunchy on the outside and flaky and buttery inside. The egg and bacon too were fantastic, I believe they were local. I wish I had more time in the area just so I could try some of their other stuff too (I was eyeing the biscuit with pimento)! Turned a good morning into a great one after coming here.
No matter how busy this place gets, it turns orders around quickly. The staff are efficient, friendly. I love watching the food being prepared. The range of sandwiches and breads give me ideas of what to get on my next visit. Neal's pastrami on rye is perfection. Creamy coleslaw, thin, lean pastrami, and rye bread crisped on the grill. A smear of mustard pulls it together. So, so good.
As always Neal's deli doesn't disappoint! The best pastrami you can find by far. The only downside is that you can no longer eat inside.
Muy buena comida
¡Delicioso!
The biscuit was not greasy and the eggs were baked, so this felt healthier than Rise. Clean cooking area and nice shaded patio. Breakfast is served!
It was a very busy day at Neal's, but we were very satisfied with both the quality of our food and the speed of service. The menu variety is nice with some holiday specials at the top. We weren't able to order at the window, so you're better off ordering online before arriving. There also isn't any indoor seating and covered outdoor seating is limited to just a few people. The pictures online may not represent the actual item, though. This may have been just for the specials, but I was a little disappointed in the difference. The prices are reasonable for prepared food in the area.
Great selection. Fresh ingredience. Some outdoor seating. Friendly staff. It was pricey, more than a good NYC deli. The pimento cheese sandwich was good, but small and prepared in a unique way. It didn't taste like pimento cheese spread and it was grilled. It was good, just not as expected. Also the chicken noodle soup was not like a standard version. It was pretty good, but when a child orders something that they are familiar with and it doesn't taste the same, they are disappointed. The Reuben sandwich was very good and a large portion.
Nice spot and great staff. Very pleasant with nice normal food options. Good and well made. Fresh.
Hay opciones para los que hacen dieta. Prueba la soda de jengibre! Really good and spicy
The food was really good, however I found the prices compared to the size of the sandwich to be pretty high compared to nearby places with similar quality. The Rueben they charge $1.25 extra for cheese and $0.75 extra on the muffalata to have it served hot. We paid $28.25 for two sandwiches, didn’t get chips or any extras (did include a 10% tip), and my husband was still hungry when he finished. Just for comparison, at the pizza factory I paid $31(also with a 10% tip) for 2 subs and an order of fries, the sandwiches were about twice the size of Neal’s and one order of fries easily served 2 ppl. So, in summary, the food was good, but I probably would go somewhere else if I was hungry and wanted to spend $14 on a sandwich.
Good food, but the portions are very small. It's between about $12-14 for a 4-6 inch sub, $15-16 if you add in chips and a drink. 2/3 if the subs I got had a literal single slice of meat in them, but the pastrami sandwitch was appropriately portioned. Taste was good, but I unironically bought sandwiches for the crew (3 for $42) and they were still hungry after. Can't recommend for economic reasons. 3 stars because it tasted good, but the portions are unjustified!
I paid $16+ for a mediocre sandwich. I used to enjoy this place but their quality has declined and their prices are just ridiculous. I don’t know what happened to the quality here. Also, who needs biscuits at a deli FCS?! I’ll pick up Giacomo’s cold cuts in Greensboro and make gourmet sandwiches at home. I wish someone would set up shop around the corner. We need a good Jewish deli in NC. I won’t return to Neal’s!
