I've been to almost every sushi restaurant in the area. This is my new favorite spot. There are places that let the fish's freshness speak for itself, then there are places like this where each bite is an expression of the Chef's art and interpretation. Each bite will leave you looking for the ingredients list to figure out what you ate, but in the best way. Most places nowadays use the same recycled flavor profiles. Here, I did not eat a single thing that wasn't extraordinarily unique. Truly a culinary experience. I would say fish prices are under market of a similar place. Service was phenomenal. Attentive but not pushy or overbearing. My only comment to the owner is that I think suggested tips are customarily on the pre-tax amount.

Hidden Gem — Absolutely Incredible Sushi Experience Kichibar is an absolute hidden gem and easily one of the best sushi spots I’ve been to. If you love premium sushi similar to Uchi, you have to try this place. It may be a hole-in-the-wall spot in Carrollton, but WOW — the quality completely blew me away. Everything we ordered was outstanding. The sushi was perfectly seasoned, incredibly fresh, and beautifully presented. The Yuzu Salmon Maki was bright and refreshing, the Tuna Negi had amazing balance and melt-in-your-mouth texture, and the Soft Shell Crab was light, crispy, and not greasy at all. The Uni Pasta was rich, creamy, and packed with umami — a true standout dish. You can tell every dish is meticulously hand-crafted with care and precision. Even the fried items were delicate and crispy, not heavy. The rolls and nigiri had excellent balance, flavor, and freshness throughout. The atmosphere is cozy, modern, and welcoming, and the staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable — they gave fantastic recommendations and made the experience even better. This is 100% a place I’ll be coming back to, and I’m already thinking about what I’ll order next time. COME HERE — SOOO GOOD!! Highly, highly recommended.

A wonderful experience!!! My first time here and sure to come back as the food was phenomenal. Service was excellent as they were very kind and attentive to our needs. They chefs seem to really take pride in their food as it’s shown in the taste and presentation. I wish I had taken more photos but the food looked to good, so I quickly ate🤣.

COME HERE SOOO GOOD!! if you like premium sushi simial to uchi, then you have to try this place! It's def a hole in the wall kind if spot in carrolton but WOW! Every dish was meticulously hand crafted with so much flavor soooo goood! The team here is super friendly and gave the best recommendations. I'm already thinking of what l'll be ordering for next time :D Must try the Maguro Futomaki 3 part of tuna roll... LIKE WOWWW!! Also the the ube ice cream is legit - get it!

The service was great all around and I even ordered new fish I’ve never tried and the Hamachi Cold dish twice (pictured).

Had such a great time here! The service was top notch. They are so attentive and friendly. The food is soooo good! it’s like Japanese tapas. All the cold and hot dishes are good. The karaage chicken is probably the best we have had. The eggplants are soooo delish. We usually don’t eat lamb but the lamb dish was unexpectedly tasty! Can’t wait to go back!

I’m scared to give this place good reviews because I don’t want this place to explode haha. As someone who loves Uchi, I would say this place is 10/10 in comparison if not better. Went last night for the first time. We had a 10:30pm reservation and we were the only diners. Service was great, very attentive, very informative, and timely. Since it was our first time we wanted to try a variety of things so we went with the 6 course meal. Quality of the food and amount for the price was great. It included dessert too. The ice cream flavors were to die for. I included some pictures but not of every dish. We’re for sure coming back, and the fact that they’re open to midnight on Fri/Sat makes it great for a late date night spot.

I walked in for a spontaneous dinner and came out feeling very satisfied and welcome. I got the yuzu ginger highball, the maitake, negihama and the chili scaloop handrolls. If you like mushroom I HIGHLY recommend the maitake as it one of the highlights of my meal. The staff is so friendly and easy to talk to. Sue and river were my servers and they're the reason I tried what felt like half the menu. I also got to meet Chris, the head chef, and he's a master at his craft. Love how passionate he is about the quality of food and how thoughtful he his about the menu. 10/10 would recommend for date night, solo dinner, whatever occasion. Looking forward to coming back!

We sat in a private room, and I absolutely loved the and intimate private atmosphere. The maki and hand rolls were incredibly fresh and delicious. I usually don’t eat raw fish, but I was pleasantly surprised by how many great options there were that I could still enjoy. Everything we tried was well prepared and full of flavor. I would definitely come back again!

Literally THE BEST PLACE HANDS DOWN! We walked in on a random wednesday night as a date night since we got tired of cooking at home and let me just tell you it was absolutely WORTH IT! Our server, Suhyeon (수현) was so kind, sweet, attentive, friendly, and conversational! She made us feel so welcome and made the night so much more enjoyable than we imagined. The owner too was so genuine, welcoming, and kind! It was just us two on a wednesday night so it was so sad to see it empty for such an amazing place! The food was delicious, fresh, and so well catered! The design and ambience too, STUNNING! Cozy, modern, and unique! You’re in for a treat, and make sure you show a lot of love to everyone in the establishment! They’re good people, with good hearts, and you can tell they’ll go far! We’ll SURELY be back and hope this place gets the AMAZING business it deserves!

Everything we ordered was outstanding. The sushi was perfectly seasoned and very fresh, and each piece was presented beautifully.The rolls and nigiri had great balance and flavor, and even the fried items were light and crispy. Absolutely love all of the food I tried! I got the signature sampler and it came with 6 different dishes. It also came with ice cream and I got ube and coffee flavors. I also order some extra eel roll since all the food was so good. My favorite was the wagyu and the potato, seared scallop, fried mushroom and more. Everything was great, and the service was amazing especially London. He is great!

We tried a new, recently opened modern Japanese sushi bar restaurant called KichiBar. Located in Old Denton Tap Rd in Carrollton, TX, it's slightly tucked away from the busyness of the area but still easy to find. The interior decor is very clean and inviting and we were seated quickly with our reservation from OpenTable. The menu provide lots of good options and we decided the 6 CourseKichi Signature Tasting for 2. That turned out to be a great choice and also very affordable. We started with some miso soup, appetizer, handroll, nigiri, a lamb dish and dessert. We also added a few additional items (Brussel Sprouts, Chicken Skewers, Fried Tofu, 5 Piece Nigiri, Soft Shell Crab Maki Roll) to round out the evening. Our server was so sweet and attentive, and everything we had was amazing! We were pleasantly surprised by how incredible the sushi was and ended up ordering multiple rounds. The oysters and the lamb dish were both standouts as well! We will definitely be back to try some stuff we missed this time : )

This place is definitely one of the nicest place I have visited. It is worth paying a visit and I would definitely re-visit, and highly recommend to people. I had 5 Nigiri MORIAWASE, 9 Sashimi MORIAWASE, Chili Scallop, and Uni Past. If I had not been in a restaurant, I would have I icked my plates clean. The food was super fresh and tasty. It was more like a fine dining restaurant at very reasonable price. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very relaxed, and quiet enough to have easy conversation. Service was friendly and the food was fantastic. I ended up ordering another order of 5 Nigiri MORIAWASE, I would have re-ordered the entire order if I could finish all. Not only the Nigiri and Sashimi are good, but Kitchen dishes are very good as well with chef's unique recipe. Uni Pasta is a must try dish in my opinion! Can't wait for the Grand opening!!

Kichibar is a hidden gem! From the moment you walk in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere makes you feel like home. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, and they really take the time to explain the menu and make great recommendations. The food is outstanding—everything is fresh, beautifully presented, and full of authentic Japanese flavor. The sushi is delicate and perfectly balanced, and the small plates are creative and delicious. You can tell a lot of care goes into every dish. The drink selection is also fantastic, with unique cocktails and a great sake list that pair perfectly with the food. If you’re looking for a cozy spot with top-quality Japanese cuisine and a relaxed vibe, Kichibar is the place. I’ll definitely be coming back!

I went to KichiBar, which recently opened, for a girls’ gathering yesterday. The food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious, and we truly appreciated how kind and welcoming the owner and staff were. Special shout-out to Romi, the bartender — the cocktails were outstanding! Everything from the atmosphere to the service was wonderful. I will definitely be coming back again.
