Saliti all’Alpe il pomeriggio di ferragosto, abbiamo deciso di fermarci al ristoro per rifocillarci. Non sapendo cosa ordinare decidiamo di fare un giro all’interno e alla fine abbiamo optato per 1/2 tagliere di salumi e formaggi accompagnato da due hugo. Sono sincero, gli hugo non erano eseguiti a regola d’arte, abbastanza anonimi e senza foglie di menta, ma me ne faccio una ragione, non sono in un cocktail bar ma in un luogo meraviglioso! I salumi e formaggi erano invece qualcosa di sublime! Il tutto accompagnato da cordialità e gentilezza da parte di tutte le ragazze! Prezzi non posso dire bassi. Se dovessi tornare all’Alpe farei nuovamente tappa al ristoro Genio.

Prima volta che vado al ristoro genio. Sicuramente ci tornerò! Il locale é abbastanza piccolo perciò conviene fare una telefonata per prenotare, in compenso il personale é gentilissimo e sempre disponibile. I cibi sono tutti di carattere tradizionale e le porzioni assaggiate da me erano favolose! Se si vuole passare un po di tempo ad ammirare un panorama meraviglioso e mangiare dell'ottima cucina tipica allora andateci pure senza indugio. Molto contento di avere scoperto questo ristoro.
Siamo venuti al ristoro Genio in occasione di uno dei giorni dedicati all'iniziativa "I weekend dei sapori d'autunno" intragati dal menù che veniva proposto. Il locale ha una bella terrazza panoramica che permette di pranzare d'estate godendosi la vista. All'interno l'ambiente è curato senza troppi fronzoli ed accogliente. L'aspettativa era abbastanza alta ed è stata ripagata appieno anzi oltre le aspettative con piatti di preparati con prodotti di ottima qualità. Abbiamo iniziato con un antipasto con salumi e taroz. Per poi passare ad un tris di primi: penne ai porcini, pappardelle al ragù di capriolo e ravioli con ripieno alle castagne (gli ultimi due veramente ottimi). E' seguito un bis di secondi: bocconcini di cervo e piatto di montagna: polenta, formaggio di capra e porcini trifolati (quest'ultimo abbastanza particolare ma molto buono) ed infine degustazione di dolci fatti in casa (torta cioccolato e pere, crostata lamponi e noci, castagne e yogurt prodotto localmente con castagne e miele) (una vera prelibatezza). Il tutto innaffiato con buon vino rosso. Staff gentile e molto premuroso. Servizio ottimo con tempi di servizio perfetti. Il locale funge anche da punto vendita ed è possibile acquistare i prodotti locali tra cui l'ottimo yogurt Monte Muggio, il formaggio di capra ed anche molti liquori e grappe oltre ad un'interessante selezione di birre artigianali. Ristorante altamente consigliato se siete alla ricerca di cibo genuino e di ottima qualità ad ottimi prezzi (il menù descritto prima costa 35€ tutto compreso).
Ottimo "Ristoro" personale molto gentile, piatti molto buoni posto molto pulito. Noi abbiamo assaggiato i pizzoccheri, ed erano molto buoni, poi abbiamo preso un tagliere di salumi e formaggi in due, ottimo tutto, da provare. Si possono acquistare anche i formaggi e i salumi provati, diversi tipi di marmellate e liquori e lo yogurt. Nelle belle giornate estive si può anche mangiare all'aperto. Si consiglia di prenotare.
Uno dei migliori rifugi provati per bontà del cibo e posizione. Top i taglieri, la polenta taragna e ovviamente i pizzoccheri. Non fanno mai mancare l'amaro del monte Muggio alla fine, buonissimo e a volontà.
Nella bellissima cornice dell'Alpe Giumello, ci siamo fermati a mangiare in questo ristorante trovandoci benissimo. Personale gentilissimo, servizio impeccabile e cibo buonissimo. Noi abbiamo preso un tagliere misto di salumi e formaggi, polenta taragna con brasato e, per finire, strudel e yogurt artigianale con i mirtilli. Tutto era veramente squisito, porzioni generose e cucinato tutto con amore! Assolutamente da tornare!
Fantastico!!! Qualità e quantità dei piatti perfetta, rapporto qualità prezzo decisamente ottimo, e nonostante il tanto lavoro il personale riesce a essere molto cordiale. Posto consigliatissimo!!!
Siamo saliti da Milano e dopo aver camminato e percorso tutto l’anello ci siamo fermati a pranzo in questo locale. Di fronte si trova un ampio parcheggio al costo di 1€ all’ora o 3€ per tutto il giorno. Ci siamo seduti e abbiamo preso un brasato con cervo polenta e funghi e il taroz che è un piatto che prendo ogni volta che salgo ed è veramente sublime. E’ composto da patate, fagiolini, cipolla, casera e burro. Il personale è veramente gentile e disponibile… e’ un ambiente allegro e tranquillo. Abbiamo concluso con il dolce scegliendo il loro yogurt. Con mirtilli e yogurt con castagne e miele.. buonissimo. E’ un posto che adoro e per il quale salgo almeno un paio di volte all’anno e fino ad ora mi sono sempre trovata bene. Lo consiglio!!!!
Appena entrato dentro già la situazione è stata chiara. Posto di montagna ben riscaldato e con prezzi più che onesti. Ci siamo abbuffati. Ancora meglio del cibo la simpatia e la disponibilità delle persone che ci lavorano dentro. Abbiamo giocato a carte, parlato del più e del meno e poi della leggenda locale. It's a must-visit. Breathtaking views. The alpine hut offers unbeatable value for money. Polenta, polenta, and more polenta. The combinations are amazing. We actually sat outside at the end of December in 16-degree weather.
Great experience, quality food, excellent service, and the staff served us and pampered us right away. I highly recommend it; generous portions and truly delicious food. Not to mention the prices, super good value! But be sure to book in advance!

Typical cuisine from Alta Valsassina, including excellent Taroz, a mountain dish with goat cheese, and all the polenta variations (with mushrooms, pork shank, and venison). Extremely friendly staff and fast service. Panoramic location and picturesque ambiance. Highly recommended for those who want to sample local specialties and breathe in the fresh air!
A restaurant with excellent service and excellent food, highly recommended. The meat is well-cooked and perfectly cooked. The cured meats and cheeses are delicious. The taragna polenta is excellent. You can also try their yogurt. They have a good selection of gluten-free products, and they're very helpful and attentive. A small on-site market selling local products. Excellent and highly recommended.
I have to admit, it's a truly bizarre place. You enter a classic mountain restaurant, where you expect to see poles, skis, and so on, but instead you find a sort of small exhibition of paintings on the walls. The food is exquisite, the yogurt is genuine and truly excellent, the wine and spirits are top-notch. Don't miss their amaro, because it's even better and more pleasant than Braulio. The service and quantity of the dishes are top-notch, but the wait is average.

It was perfect for us! After a big hike, stopping by this restaurant, getting the most comforting Italian food and deliciois glass of prosecco. The service was probably the friendliest we got and we spent a month in Italy! Great place, highly recommend.

Location con ampio parcheggio al suo esterno e da lì si può partite per fare tante belle passeggiate. Per non dover aspettare, consiglio di prenotare. Il personale è gentile e cortese. Abbiamo mangiato bene, nel cervo secondo me c'era troppo ginepro e mi ha coperto il sapore mentre la polenta taragna era bella gustosa. Buono anche lo yogurt, peccato aver trovato dentro un pezzo di plastica 😅 per fortuna me ne sono accorto e lo ho scartato. Prezzo corretto.
Una gita in moto a pochi km da Milano. A parte la Milano Lecco davvero impraticabile il resto dopo l’uscita di Bellano e’ splendidi ed i paesaggi splendidi. Per mangiare meglio prenotare. RISTORO GENIO OTTIMA SCELTA
We went there during a visit to Giumello, and we loved it. The goulash with polenta and gorgonzola was delicious, and the pizzoccheri were also very good. The atmosphere is very homey and family-friendly. The staff is kind and friendly. Recommended if you're in the area.

Good typical food!
We visited this restaurant because it was the only one in that area working at lunch time. The view is stunning and the location of the restaurant is golden - there are a lot of tourists and resting locals. And maybe because the restaurant is the only one working in that area, they can do whatever they want with the food. Explaining, why I say that: we ordered polenta with mushrooms, polenta with mushrooms and goat cheese, pasta "pizzoccheri", cheese plate, yoghurt, apple pie, pistachios ice cream. And we did enjoy only the ice cream - it was good, all of us liked it. Polenta was too dry and too salty, mushrooms were good. Pasta was too oily, and somehow I found there a dead cauliflower (way overcooked), which tasted disgusting. My favourite pleasure in all the places I go is a cheese plate. Here I couldn't eat even one piece - the cheeses were not a good quality, dry, old, and tasted really bad. I wanted to enjoy bread basket, but the buns I found there were same condition - dry and low quality yeasts bread. Yoghurt was neutral , I don't know if it will save the review. And the apple pie, the second important pleasure of mine, was a dry disappointment. For all of this we payed 95€. The waiters were smiling and kind. The atmosphere generally was good - a lot of people. Next time in this area I will find somewhere else to eat.
Nice rustic, typical food of the region,polenta e salsicce been one. In the terrace the view is just amazing, lake Como and on the distance lake Lugano
Afternoon is not possible to eat anything warm, 1h of travel for nothing.
