At New Hope Market, we're passionate about serving up delicious, farm-to-table cuisine that's as fresh as our commitment to sustainability. Our Chapel Hill location is a haven for foodies and dog lovers alike, with a cozy atmosphere that welcomes all. We take pride in using only the best organic ingredients, just like our customers rave about - "Este lugar su comida es organica, el lugar es esquisito y la atencion de marravilla" (This place has amazing food, the location is quirky and the service is incredible). Our outdoor seating area is a favorite among dog owners, who appreciate the pup-friendly space where they can dine with their furry friends.
New Hope Market is a popular spot known for delicious breakfasts and lunches made with fresh, local ingredients. Customers rave about the flavorful soups and homemade desserts. The dog-friendly patio is a plus for those dining with pets.
Tip: Enjoy the dog-friendly patio if you want to dine with your furry friend.
Truly a hidden and off-the-beaten-path gem in the Triangle that you absolutely must try. Everything is top-notch, from the atmosphere and the food all the way to the vibe.
Dined here twice on my recent visit to Hillsborough. Both times with my trusty NC friend, Bo (my dog hiking buddy when I'm in NC). Yay for dog friendly patio area for those that like to dine with their paw friends! Fresh made with care food. Had a BLT with a fried egg & deli broccoli salad for brunch on my first visit. Second visit tried the special - Argentinian steak sub with green bean & tomato salad. Delicious! Very close to Johnston Mill Nature Preserve. (more on that in my review of that area.
The BEST restaurant!! I honestly wish I could say the right words to describe how awesome New Hope Market is!! Great food with so many wonderful choices. Many gluten free options for which is super important to us! Not only is the food, deserts delicious but their staff are incredibly nice and helpful! This market deserves more than 5 stars!
Tempted to refer to this place as a hidden gem except it is very popular. Very good breakfast and lunch foods made from scratch favoring local ingredients. Not fancy but just really good and down to earth breakfasts, sandwiches, soups, and a whole case of homemade desserts. Counter order and open seating. Can get crowded. Sells some market items as well. Well worth the stop every time. Personal favorites are the burger, pork chop sandwich, the daily quiche, and almost any soup.
Dropped in for a late lunch. Service is fast and friendly. The burrito bowl and pies are delicious and the price is reasonable. It has a small grocery section too. You can have the meal both indoors and outdoors .
Great food, wonderful atmosphere, and friendly staff. The Grilled Chicken Sandwich and Applewood-Smoked Bacon BLT were excellent. We enjoyed the food and will return!
Such a cute restaurant that also sells produce and crafts. I had their burger and the crab cake sandwich from their specials, both were delicious. Their desserts are amazing!
We had an excellent bfast this morning! I’d go miles out of my way again for their oatmeal topped with stewed apples and toasted nuts - yum. Everything fresh and delicious. Local arts, crafts, and food items. Indoor and outdoor seating. A great find!
I don’t normally ever write about a burger, but this burger is the best one I’ve had in years. The cakes I got were also beyond delicious 🤤 I tried the Indian carrot cake with cardamom and pistachios, and the blueberry vanilla
So glad me and my coworker stopped here today. As soon as I walked in I knew it was gonna be great. I could smell freshness in the food they were making. after picking from the perfect amount of great options I was right. The food was so good. Will never drive past here without stopping when in that area.
I just had the craziest most delicious most awesome bowl of noodles and tofu with mushrooms and kimchi and a black coffee in one of those heavy diner mugs here. Didn’t order the fried pork chop sandwich but the guy next to me did and it was one of the most incredible smells I’ve ever smelt. Love and light on planet earth 🫶🌎
We enjoyed a lovely breakfast, nice atmosphere and wifi. Friendly people and the most delicious stoneground cheese grits... as good as my own!!! Try the grits bowl with collard greens, it may satisfy you ALL DAY. Gluten-free and vegan desserts available, too.
Absolutely one of the best places in Orange County to get something to eat (regardless if it is for breakfast, lunch, or dinner). Everything is good, the food is outstanding, and the taste is second to none. The staff is friendly, and after a while they are more like friends. You cannot go wrong stopping in and giving this place a try. Give a local establishment your business. The cakes, pies, and other sweats are incredible and tasty. You can never go wrong with a slice or buying an entire cake or pie.
Absolutely amazing, delectable food. Wish they did all-day breakfast, but their lunch/dinner specials are so good, I can't really complain. It's not just the quality of their ingredients but how they are prepared, and the creativity of their offerings. The chef/s has a natural talent for making food taste great. Being from south-east Asia, I find the American palate often bland. But not here!
Stopped by randomly while traveling and glad we did. Very cute market and counter serve restaurant. The stock was a little low when we went on a Monday around 4. However we didnt have trouble finding some things to pick up and we ordered some food. The grain bowls were really tasty. I got one with tofu and egg and my husband got the steak one. Everything was cooked perfectly and the grain bowls had farro which we havent had before and it made us decide to buy some after our meal. We also got a couple Cookie Gurlie items and they were good! I especially liked the dipped toffee cookie. They have a good selection of local jams, glass bottled sodas/seltzer and some fun condiments and produce. They have some interesting house made cold sides and desserts. We will have to come back to try some more. They had a gravel lot, but a cute patio several people were drinking and snacking on. Inside seating was limited ...under 10 parties could sit but seating looked flexible. With the large patio and a side room that I didnt get a great look at that could have been outdoor- you shouldnt struggle to find seating if the weather is nice.
I love this place! The food is amazing and their salads are to die for. I cannot compare the quality and the freshness of the food to any high end restaurant in the area. They are simply the best! Try their beet with goat cheese and coleslaw salads, mouthwatering grits bowl in the morning and the noodle bowl for lunch. Yum! Customers are always greeted with a warm smile. They also have local Maple view farm ice cream. What else one can ask for? Five stars.
Fresh, delicious options at a reasonable price. Friendly service, great food options to take home such as desserts, fresh bread, fruit, and veggies
Recently opened (several other venues have been at this location), this is a great addition to the neighborhood. Wonderful variety of deliciously prepared meals, local produce and other items including Maple View Farm products, local breads and baked goods, a nice wine and beer selection and really nice folks. Just stopped by for a cup of roasted cauliflower soup - really amazing taste! They have great burgers and tacos, too. Haven't tried breakfast yet but menu looks enticing. Look for greenhouse and gardening supplies in the Spring.
We LOVE this place, and whoever travels from out of town, we try to take them here... they love it too! Service and ambience are great! Their noodle bowl is my favorite, followed by various types of baked goodies... oh, and the coffee
Awesome. Pork Chop sandwich for lunch was delish. Delightful atmosphere. Had a dog water bowl outside for our pooch. Great outside seating.
Most of downtown Hillsborough is closed on Mondays, and this is quickly becoming one of our favorite stops. Believe it or not, they've got some of the best burgers in town! And, their dessert bar (10+ options that are homemade) is really great -- includes dairy free and/or gluten free options. Plus, they have a good selection of grocery items and art for sale. This is a gem!
I can't believe the flavor in their season bowl! I added some pork belly and it was expertly cooked and melted in my mouth. I was also able to find fresh pasta from Italy, local Roma tomatoes, and Italian wine to make a great dinner! Will be telling everyone about this great experience!
Randy has a hopping and thriving little restaurant here and I can say from many experiences that his catering services are delicious and top-notch. I have never gone at a time when they didn't have a mouth-watering gluten free dessert option! If you need a place to buy a bottle of wine and a small bouquet or local art/craft to bring someone a gift, a place to stop for breakfast and enjoy a conversation with a friend, or a place to cater your event you can't go wrong with New Hope Market.
This is a hidden gem. Food is great. atmosphere is one of a kind. Try the chicken tacos, or the noddle bowl. Oh the gf pumpkin bread with chocolate chips is to die for. Plus you can buy local art, coffee beans, produce, eggs, and wine and beer. Really lovely little spot.
Lovely little market and restaurant with local agriculture, represented and good food for the soul and for the soil. Wheelchair access. North Carolina breweries and outdoor seating situated side west of 86 going north on way to Hillsborough, which is a borough in the hills located just a few hills over from Chapel Hill if you’re burrowing northwest of Durham toward Greensboro.
Love this spot! Great food, cozy vibe, and kind people. The chicken sandwich was amazing…and so many delicious dessert options! Perfect to grab a bite and then head to one of the great nearby hikes.
The smell of fresh baked everything hits you as soon as you enter the door! Beautiful fresh veggies are abundant and the staff is very friendly. I ordered their 2 eggs cooked anyway you'd like with well done bacon and cheese on a fresh made biscuit. It was delish! I'll be back soon!!
Great experience I had a wonderful Noodle bowl cannot remember one ever being better. My wife had a burger it was great, charbroiled and the potato salad was most delightful. Great place to have a conversation and a good meal together
One of the hidden gems of Orange County! All my years driving I-40 and this was just a 4 minute drive north on 86!? Highly recommend this place for lunch and desserts any time during the week, its sandwiches and sides are homemade, fresh, and incredible. And they have freshly made weekly desserts that are worthy of your holiday table!
If you are going through Chapel Hill on I-40, this is “a must stop” on HWY 86! The food, atmosphere, and most importantly the staff, are all outstanding. It is the spot I stop at both coming into Chapel Hill and then stopping again for “food to go.” And I strongly recommend starting with dessert first!!!
This place has everything and it's all perfect. I have visited 5 times and experienced their breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Everything tastes homemade but elevated with the perfect seasoning and flavors. The quiche is always on point and their biscuit sandwich is best in town. The dessert case is my only complaint because you can't decide on just one thing, it all looks amazing and tastes great. They even have a fair amount of gluten free options that actually taste good. Lastly the thing that puts this place above all other Chapel Hill options are the staff. On every visit everyone has been super friendly, relaxed, and welcoming despite how busy or long the line is. Really can't say enough good things about this place, go and see for yourselves!
What a great place. I pass by every day but it took me so long before I stopped to check it out. It is really cozy and homy inside with great windows for plenty of natural light and lots of nice plants. The menu is very good. Not too many options but a good variety with something for everyone. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Burgers, tacos, noodle bowls and amazing deserts. Definitely worth a visit or repeat patronage!
I've passed this place many times meaning to stop here and I finally did! Seating for around 15 people, nice little convenience store sized adjacent area with jams, wines, etc. Good breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus and very nice pie and chilled salads (potatoe, hummus, quinoa, etc) coolers. The atmosphere is very nice, very clean, and includes small community items like a lending library. I'm looking forward to trying all the other items on the menu!
Pleasantly surprised. My grain bowl with chicken was very flavorful. Atmosphere reminded me of an old country store. Lots of customers coming and going. Good vibe. I will be back.
My husband and I stopped here for breakfast. The tomato pie was fantastic.
Local gem! Recently moved to this area and visited with my sister the first time. This place is cute as heck, service is quick and friendly. It is clean, very "homey"/casual decor. Cannot recommend the food more, though! There are Gluten-free and Dairy-free options for some things. The baked good section has them well marked as well. (When in doubt, just ask. The staff are really helpful.) It's fresh, not over seasoned, you taste all the vegetables. I'm in love. ❤️ It is my personal goal to try just about everything on the menu while I am here. (My sister has plans to visit everytime she's in town) I am bringing all my friends here and they are new fans too. Been here for both Brunch and Lunch so far.
Last night we made our second visit to New Hope Market. Both visits have been absolutely delightful! Easy to locate, New Hope’s staff are the best. Friendly and knowledgeable, they provide excellent customer service. The food and drink selections are incredible. The hamburgers are so very delicious! We have been so impressed with everything we have ordered. In addition to dine in or takeout dishes, they have a wonderful selection of craft beer and wine, some fresh produce and even a small gift section. Breakfast, lunch or dinner, you will find this cozy restaurant to be exactly what you need in a dining experience!
Wonderful local spot in Chapel Hill. Warm, friendly place with great food. But the best-kept secret is the bakery — amazing cakes and desserts, including the best gluten-free cakes we've ever had. Sometimes we come just for a slice of cake...
Kristi runs a tight ship and Melissa is an Excellent Baker. The Kitchen Staff are real Pro's and Randy has put together a real Gem between Chapel Hill and Hillsborough in the Blackwood Community.
I love this place, and if I lived closer I'd be here all the time. Food is great, including the baked goods, especially the tres leches cake. Oh my goodness, it's delicious.
Everything on the menu is good, plan on a small wait but it’s definitely worth it
If you want a comforting meal with fresh veggies, this is your place. With the quality of the food and how nice the staff is, I'm surprised on how affordable it was. My family also got several slices of various cakes and pies at the end to split - would definitely recommend.
Wow. Great food at very reasonable prices. Did I say great? Delicious yet simple. Best chicken sandwich I believe I ever had, and I eat chicken all the time. Wife had blt and was very pleased and she is super critical. For two of us was 25$. Fast food prices for gourmet level food. It’s not fancy for sure, but excellent eating.
Nestled in an old little counrty store, this is a nice little place to grab breakfast or lunch. Along with the menu, they also have a deli cooler with fresh dishes like shrimp salad, broccoli salad, etc. As well as desserts to choose from like pie and cake.
If you want a delicious breakfast in an interesting setting, this is it! They make their own sausage … fantastic. I had an omelette consisting of tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms, yellow squash, and cheese. It was wonderful. Biscuits are delicious. Their music selection is great, and not too loud, nor soft, but perfect. Enjoyable experience all the way around! It’s also a small market with a few groceries, and local crafty type items.
It was a fun experience. They have a community seating table and a bar along the window to look out while eating. The food is a good value.
Friendly staff serving amazing and unique menu items!! New Hope Market is very local—sourcing ingredients from local farms—and allergy/food sensitivity conscious—with multiple gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan options available across the menu. And EVERYTHING is delicious! I’m not even kidding, everything I’ve tried here has been outstanding! Some indoor seating available, with plenty of outdoor seating, too. Parking can be a little dicey, but only because the lot is on the smaller side and they are very popular. Don’t give New Hope Market a miss, you definitely need to visit!
Really happy to find this unique place. We had burgers with guacamole and bacon. There is a gluten free bun option and quite a few GF options in general. My wife chose a GF chocolate chip pumpkin bread for dessert. It was fantastic. It was also nice to browse the local art and goodies while we waited on our order. We'll be back.
In addition to the kindness of the staff, the food is delicious. We just had take-out breakfast and are delighted that breakfast is now available. Best grits ever! Tasty oatmeal. And hearty Farmer's Breakfast. We are so glad that this local business is still serving our community.
We went early evening! My daughter order a poke bowl and I had a hamburger! Great food! We sat outside and enjoyed the cooler breeze! Very nice evening!
This place is quickly getting popular. On the other side of the railroad tracks from the old Allen and Son Barbecue place. Food is made to order. There are homemade cakes and pies too with Vegan options. Their potato salad alone is worth traveling for.
Everything we’ve had here has been delicious. Today my crab cake sandwich was perfect, a little crunch on the outside, fresh crab within, the bun toasted just right and the mayo with a touch of heat. The slaw almost stole the show with crisp red cabbage, a little sweet heat from peppers/chilis, light vinegar and stone ground mustard. My wife’s BLT and steak fries was right on time.
If you are in a hurry call ahead to place your order, but the food is consistently good and a break from the normal spots.
Went for lunch today. First timer, everything was fresh and delicious. We did have to wait for a seat at lunch it was very busy but by the time our food was prepared we had a seat. Everything was great. We ordered a burger, which was a daily special and a chicken sandwich . Both were amazing and on very fresh delicious bread. Definitely will be back soon.
Always great food and service! Especially love the breakfast and desserts!
I was out on a leisurely drive and ended up finding this market and I'm so glad I stopped in! I was impressed with the selection of produce and grocery items and have been really happy with the quality. The staff were so friendly and when I asked about salsa, they hooked me up with a deli container of some since they didn't have any in jars. The food from the cafe smelled so good - next time I'll make sure to get there for a meal before shopping!
What a joy to have found this lovely neighborhood café! The ambience is that of a loving community that supports local farmers and artisans. And the food expresses that love. 🥰 I had the Seasonal Noodle Bowl which was fresh and flavorful. Also, the ever-so-obvious homemade cherry pie was sublime! I can't wait to go back....
Food was not what I expected. Pork chop sandwich was nicely fried with a juicy inside taste with dressing and decorative slaw. I pass by this place all the time until 1 day I decided to have lunch on my break. It was a good choice and I can't wait to come back for a different choice on the Menu.
I love this place! The food is always delicious; nothing over the top and all feels healthy. They have a great stock of beer and wine, plus staples for meals and charcuterie. The staff couldn’t be nicer; I just love them. I can’t say enough great things about New Hope Market — they even scoop the perfect scoop of ice cream!
Great local spot! Fresh food, nice grocery selection, and a great atmosphere. Welcoming to cyclists as well as it is casual and laid back
Fresh, tasty, consistent. This place offers solid breakfast and lunch menus, a rotating daily special (the crabcake sandwich is SO good), a cold case, and myriad dessert options. Service is friendly and efficient. Love dining in or grabbing takeaway for a weekend picnic.
If you’re looking for a place that serves consistently fresh and delicious food, look no further than New Hope Market. The brunch menu is packed with incredible flavors—think homemade pastries, perfectly brewed coffee, and creative egg dishes. Their lunch and dinner menus are just as impressive, with expertly crafted sandwiches, vibrant salads, and hearty entrees that highlight fresh, seasonal ingredients. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff make every visit feel like a treat. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this is a restaurant worth visiting again and again.
I always forget how much I love this place! Service is ALWAYS on point, always someone to make eye contact and smile (pretty rare these days, right?!) It's so nice to feel truly welcome someplace. The fresh food on display is beautiful, everything I've had from the case was very tasty. Burgers are great, really customizable, with yummy buttered/grilled bun. And I love that you can grab a beer or bottle of wine from the shelves! The outside space is so lovely when the weather is nice. The tiny grocery area has a wild, fun selection of local, specialty goods and pretty affordable fresh stuff, all really nice. LOVE it all. *The inside is VERY noisy when full and busy, hard to hear above the din. Sit outside or take a picnic to nearby Blackwood Park!
Holy noodle bowl I love this place. I had the seasonal noodle bowl and two different pieces of cake. Everything was extraordinary. I wish I lived in the area so I could go more often. Do not miss out on this place. The ingredients were so fresh. The soup base was so delicious. 10/10 recommend. Thank you to the locals who recommended it to me.
An incredible gem nestled in Chapel Hill. Carefully crafted food and beverages, a delightful co-working space with plants everywhere. It has an atmosphere just flowing with positive energy. Eclectic furniture and artisan products. Makes you proud to support a small business in the community. I was only in for a short visit with a friend but will definitely be back soon to show it off whenever I can. 🫶
Service is friendly. Atmosphere is nice and casual. They have a small grocery section with local items. Plenty of good looking pastries and desserts. I got the vegetable quiche and a gluten free strawberry scone to go for about $13.xx. End crust on the quiche was slightly dry but overall good with a nice good portion. Will definitely come back and try other items.
Group of six and five ordered special shepherd pie one burger. Pie was very good with salad. Burger 4.4. Had three deserts and all on point.
I don't get out this way, but I have a new chiropractor in Chapel Hill and go right by there. We just got back in town and had no food, so I stopped in to see what they had. They carry beer, wine, local meats, cheeses, eggs, fruits and veggies, crafts, jams, sauces, and some normal grocery type items. They have a nice menu of food and desserts to die for. Rhe decor has a modern yet rustic or old timey feel with mixed items. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I got the Korean burger with potato salad for me and slaw for the hubbie. Potato salad is made with red potatoes and is creamy. Rhe slaw has tri-color hot peppers and is vinegar based - yum. The burgers were cooked nicely and the Korean flaors set it off. Rhe chicken salad was chunky and creamy - very good. The lemon pie is not yellow (lemon juice is not really yellow), so I had to read the label. Oh my! Best lemon pie! So tart and sweet. Rhe apple pie had the best crust and crumble topping! The Mac and cheese was very cheesy and the bread crumb topping set it off. The meat quiche was also good, but a little fluffier than I expected. I like it a little more dense, but still very good. Great indoor and outdoor seating. You should check it out.
First time visit to this little gem, stopping for a late breakfast before a hike at Johnston Mill Preserve. Enjoyed a delicious pear and pistachio scone (would come back again just for that!), a country breakfast and quiche with bacon, grilled onions and Gruyère. There was a little mishap in the timing of our order but the manager apologized and made it right (and that makes all the difference). Two kinds of coffee and decaf and lots of other beverage choices. Looking forward to coming again for lunch or a sample of treats from the dessert case.
Food is good but beware grill closes an hour before the restaurant. Was bummed when I went in at 8 and couldn't get anything except the deli case.
Super cute. We wanted to eat everything on the menu and in the salad and dessert cases. Don't go super hungry on a weekend morning. It took a quite a while to get our food and hangry was lurking. But it was soooo tasty. Service and overall vibe was so friendly and welcoming. I had the biscuits and creamy, peppery gravy. Nom! The quiche tho? Up there with Coquette who makes the best ever quiche (imo.) Creamy decadent deliciousness to be found at New Hope. Also tried the French toast. We were rationing syrup (moar syrup plz?) But what a fluffy, eggy delight. Much better texture than most restaurants achieve that rely more on the sugar than the bread and custard. But I still want syrup!
I ordered the bacon quiche with beet salad. The quiche was good, a bit overcooked on the crust. Beet salad was quite good. The gluten free coconut cake was delicious! All generous portions. Update: Ive been back several times. Quiche was perfect! All of our food was delicious!! And the bakery items are amazing! Can get very busy, may be a wait in line to order.
This little spot between Chapel Hill and Hillsborough is surprisingly good. Their breakfast was decent. I had scrambled eggs with veggies and cheese. While the flavor was good the portion was small for the price. I have also had some of their lunch options, the Reuben I had tasted amazing and was not shy with the meat portions. There is inside and outside seating as well as a small local goods shop (ranging from dairy to t-shirts). Everything looked clean and saw employees wiping and sanitizing tables. It is a lunch-counter type restaurant, order at the counter and they bring it to the table, you place your dishes in receptacles when finished.
This is a cute little roadside stop. The menu is great, prices are fair, food is decent, arranged with care, a little heavy on the grease but that’s the style. All this was overshadowed by an odd passive aggressive atmosphere. There was also excessive use of handwritten signs on pointless prohibitions such as table use. Nothing felt welcoming. It’s a shame as the place was well stocked, and would’ve received a loyal following from a massive office building nearby, that had no clue they existed. Some common courtesy to ALL and address the aggression from -not all, but a few of the staff who came off as toxic. There was an achingly obvious lack of camaraderie between staff. Be better with the tone and we’ve got a gem here.
Great food, market as well as pies and cakes made on premises. Open seating, large selection of beer and wine, market has some staples, flowers and fresh fruit and vegetables. Breakfast is fantastic and as are the lunch and dinner options. Great staff and the owner of often found making fresh desserts. Closed on Sundays.
Very busy vibrant market with indoor and outdoor seating. We managed to get a spot indoors and thoroughly enjoyed our grilled cheese sandwiches with bacon and beet salad
Burger and grain bowl were both very good and fresh. Seems like they have this side of the house down. Unfortunately, the dessert side was not great. We ordered vanilla peach cake and spiced cake. Either WAY too much sugar or too much frosting. The peach was faint and underwhelming. I wouldn’t spend money on that again. Ultimately, it’s an average hipster food market.
We haven't been here in quite some time and were excited to have lunch. We were thrilled to see bread from The Bread Shop and got a loaf of sunflower bread to take home. I waited patiently in line as my spouse, who had just had eye surgery, went to save a table for us. I was ready with our order when it was my turn at the register. It quickly turned into a chaotic experience when as the person taking my order was continually interrupted by a very friendly guy with a beard next to her, interjecting and asking me about my order, almost taking over for her. Why, I don't know. At one point, I had to just stop them and say, "I don't even know who I'm supposed to be taking to at this point." It was extremely frustrating giving my order to a tag team that had anything but teamwork. Anyway... Our soup arrived first, and it was delicious! A creamy mushroom with chicken and rice that we shared and had enough to bring home. We each had a sandwich with sides. The BLT had an extreme amount of bacon, and the potato salad was made with very large chunks, making it hard to eat. My chicken salad was good, but I asked for sunflower bread for us both, which it was not, and lightly toasted was barely that. One bite and my sandwich fell completely apart. The cole slaw was chopped so chunky it was difficult to eat. All in all, it wasn't the greatest experience, which was disappointing. The sunflower bread we brought home is fresh and wonderful. I don't know if I can return and trust that the tag team won't be up to their hijinks again.
I have been stopping by for years now to get a scone while in transit (they do make great scones!) - Just today decided to try breakfast and placed my order along with a friend's - paid and left a tip for a total 32 dollars give or take - after waiting for a while I asked what had happened to my order and they told me (insistently) they called my name 3 times - I was less than 15 feet away at the table in front of the counter and was there the entire time along with my friend and we were listening for it. Our hearing is fine as we are both piano tuners so something is not right here - at the same time this was going on a number of their staff were informing a woman that her Lexus was improperly parked and she was subject to towing and it was turned into a big social affair. Also keep in mind there were a dozen or so people in there so it was not crowded. By the time I got my meal it was almost cold - they should have made a better effort to get my meal to me -something like maybe walking out and asking around - like I said we were right there the whole time so their claim was pretty weak SO! the moral of the story I get is if you are too irresponsible to park your car properly (there is plenty of parking) we will bend over backwards to make sure you are accommodated but if we already have your money you are on your own - that was the first and last time I will eat there
I had Southern pork chop sandwich 🥪. It tasted like sausage and didn't go well with slaw and mustard on sandwich.
Be sure to check your food!!! Was my first, and last time eating here. Didn’t realize it was this undercooked until after I took a bite. This is ridiculous someone that isn’t paying attention when eating could eat something like this, and get really sick!!
Poor customer service! They only cater to certain type of customers and it’s definitely not black people! My mom, a black woman came in today for some homemade dessert and she was overlooked by the staff while she stood there. But as soon as a white woman came in, she was quickly acknowledged and greeted! So she left because that truly bothered her! She once loved this place because of the homemade desserts but she will no longer support a business that appears to no longer want to serve her! So after reading another review (Diane’s), I have come to an conclusion that this store appears to not want black or brown people in their store. So sad, but racism is never going anywhere… no matter what!!
Very rude ladies behind the counter. I mentioned the fountain machine was out, was looked at like I was annoying one worker. She said “well get water or something”. I said I didn’t pay for water. Then she said “well get a can over there”. Other worker said “no way it is out”. She checked. Yes it was out. I wasn’t lying. Then food took a long time but they were busy. No big deal. But I simply walked up to the counter to inquire and before I could even ask I was rudely given my food, she slammed the ticket onto the spike ticket holder thing and told me “you need to pay for it”. I had mistakenly forgotten to pay when she took my order in line remotely on her pad, was totally my fault. But the “way”she said this to me and walked off snarky was not cool. I said “you don’t have to be rude”. Then I went and stood in the line all over again to pay (when she could have just taken my card before storming off), and she again talked to me rudely “your total is blah blah blah Chris”! I won’t be going back and I live here in town. I guess now that they have a good clientele they don’t feel the need to treat their customers with some common decency. Bad experience for both myself and my son.
Change it to dashed hopes!! NOT for people of color! Stopped at New Hope Market before a long drive, placed our order and sat down to wait. Within minutes, the lunch crowd started filing in, put their orders in and started receiving their orders while we were still waiting. These folks had come in 30 to 45 minutes after us and had placed similar orders. I eventually approached one worker. She apologized and within 3 minutes, the food was on our table. She also asked us to come see her or one of the team members after our meal. The burger was medium rare instead of well-done, like we had specified, but we let it go for the sake of time. The fries had no seasoning. Noodle soup was meh. After our meal, we went to the front as instructed. The cashier guessed that it was possible that the one worker wanted to remedy the situation with a treat on the house. So I had my daughter pick out a small treat. As she was doing so, the worker showed up, went to the manager and the cashier and the three started whispering in front of us. The cashier then informed us that they would not give anything to us on the house as the manager had decided that our wait time was not outrageous. It caught me off guard. I had to tell my kid she was not getting a treat as they had changed their minds. And I was too disgusted to buy anything from them. The manager was standing right there watching from the corner of his eye in and utterly unapologetic. This wasn’t just a case of slow service—it felt personal. We were made to feel invisible, and by the end, we were left wondering whether our treatment would have been different had our skin color matched that of the other guests who received faster and more respectful service. Whether intentional or not, the discrepancy in how we were treated spoke volumes about the manager. This experience unfortunately ranks among the worst we’ve had in a restaurant, and it has left a lasting impression—for all the wrong reasons.
