Brookville Restaurant - Permanently Closed Charlottesville Reviews
You're hard pressed to find a better meal in Charlottesville. Love that the menu changes all the time and you're always getting something fresh. Bring your appetite!
Brookville is a wonderfully cozy little restaurant upstairs on the Downtown Mall in Charlottesville. They make one of best burgers in town! I highly recommend Brookville, particularly for special occasions as they can be a bit pricey.
My sister's rehearsal dinner took place here and it was an amazing place to mingle a large number of family and friends. They worked to suit everybody's needs and somehow managed to make the place feel a little bit like a well dressed up home. I'll go back there again, in spite of it amusing me by having a similar name to a high school I competed against when I was a kid.
This place is great. The bloody mary's are the best in Va I have had. The place has a great atmosphere and decor. The portions are big. The service is great and the tables and chairs are very comfortable. The staff was fantastic. We can't wait to go back.
Some of the best and most memorable meals I've enjoyed in Charlottesville have been at Brookville. The menu is creative and seasonal. The service is welcoming without being overbearing. It's a top notch dining experience - without the pretension that is becoming (unfortunately) more common today.
My wife and I found this restaurant last week, while walking along the pedestrian mall. Since it is upstairs, it is easy to miss. Very glad we did not miss it. The food was wonderful. The pork belly was amazing and the braised rabbit outstanding. The service was great and to top it off, the bacon/chocolate chip cookie for dessert was to die for. It is freshly baked when it is ordered, so it takes a few extra minutes, but well worth the wait. The chairs were about the most comfortable that I have ever sat in at a restaurant. I definitely give this restaurant a 5!
Brookville is an excellent spot to satisfy a bacon addiction. Great food and some of the best chicken and waffles I've ever had in my life, although I'm not sure how often they're on the menu(this was during restaurant week).
Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. We did the $65 tasting menu. The food that we got was not worth that much. It should have been more like a $30 menu. First course was a piece of bread with cream cheese on top. One would think that for $65 you would just get a piece of bread with the meal, not make it a course. Second course were creamed green beans. Third course was the most interesting, some sort of zucchini cake with maple syrup. Entree was the half chicken with lettuce shared between the 2 of us. And the last course was a slice of pie. Nothing was very original or interesting. Very bland. I like the concept of the restaurant and eat all organic at home, but I felt like I could have made this same food myself. We didn't even get descriptions of what we were eating for some of the courses. After spending over $250 for dinner, drinks and tip we were still hungry and went over to C & O restaurant and got much better food. We had also gone to The Ivy Inn restaurant the night before (which we had heard was very fancy) and got much better food and drinks for about $100 less.... Brookville was just a huge disappointment and we were actually angry that we wasted our hard earned money here.
