AMAZING!!!!! The atmosphere was sultry and personal. The food was 10/10, had the lobster risotto, hand cut fries, roasted mushrooms, dry aged meatballs, red velvet cake and the Eisenhower steak. Everything was delicious and so well done. The service was even better. Our waiter (shoutout Jorge!!!) was patient and attentive. He got us more candles cause he noticed that we needed more light to see, like so attentive and friendly. Just a great place!!
Five star experience. Upon searing they greet you with a complimentary cocktail followed by crudités. While I love bread, the veggies was a refreshing twist. The service is great. They have a build your own seafood tower-it’s worth the money. I had the lamb, delicious! Everything was perfect. When the bill arrived there is an optional fee on their as a line item for the workers health insurance and benefits. Highly controversial practice in my opinion-if you’re in favor leave it on; if opposed you can ask for it to be removed. All in all this was a 10/10 experience. For three of us it was about $700 (seafood tower, shared appetizer, three entrees, six cocktails and dessert). We found parking up front but there is valet.
Group of 5 for my friend's birthday and we had the best time. The cocktails were delicious. The food was amazing, so rich in flavor. The star of the show here was our server Q. He was the best! He was attentive, funny, quick, and great with recommendations. We will definitely be returning and will request him as our server. Q made sure my friend's birthday celebration was an amazing experience. Everything about our dinner was lovely from the food to the service. Would definitely recommend, and ask for Q!
The food was amazing. Everything was delicious and cooked put to perfection. The filet mignon melted in your mouth. We ordered a number of sides and each one was better than the next. We had the asparagus, the mushrooms, the macaroni and cheese and the mashed potatoes and they were all made with a special touch. The overall atmosphere was elegant, but they kept the lights way too low. Part of enjoying your food is being able to see your food. And part of ordering your food is being able to see the menu without having to almost catch it on fire with the candle. For a restaurant this expensive and this level of elegance, our waitress could’ve been a little better. All of the people who brought out the food and did all the other aspects of service were amazing. I don’t know if our waitress was just a little overwhelmed with her tables, but we found ourselves looking for her often trying to get refills and other things we needed. That was just a little hiccup, the overall experience was amazing and the food was great. Highly recommend.
We had the pleasure of being served by Javie, he was absolutely amazing! From the moment we sat down, he made us feel so welcomed and taken care of. His attention to detail, menu knowledge, and recommendations were spot on. He checked in on us the perfect amount and made our whole dining experience feel elevated and special. If you go to Maple & Ash, definitely ask for Javie!! you won’t be disappointed. Thank you for such great service! You’re the reason we keep coming back for special occasions or even a last minute dinner reservation! ❤️
So, the food and service was amazing. They do a little "rushy rushy"....the food was absolutely amazing. John was our server and he was over the top knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Idk who the girl in the bathroom was but she blew my mind with a fancy paper towel and she is now my favorite person on earth.
Everything was absolutely five stars! Kasey was our server, and she did phenomenal with her suggestions and certainly impress us with the way she listened to what we wanted or needed. She made our birthdays fantastic by making up a menu with our names on it because it's our birthday week. My boyfriend had the best steak of his life and I had a fantastic Caesar salad. We really enjoyed the ambiance, the candelabras on the tables, and the whole feel of the place. It's very intimate and welcoming at the same time and it's hard to find the two together. I wish we were not just visiting because we would certainly make this our top spot for steak and fun!
Celebrated my birthday dinner here and absolutely loved the experience. From the atmosphere, to the service to the food and the drinks, everything was fantastic. We really enjoyed the seafood tower and got the additional pasta added to it which was very tasty. We got the chocolate cake for dessert which has a surprise coffee mousse element and was de-licious!! I also really liked their bread that they serve at the dinner table which just goes a long way in showing they have thought about every detail. This is now one of my favorite Chicago restaurants. We have to go back to try more!
Dined at Maple and Ash for my wife’s birthday. It was our first time there and it was great. The service was exceptional and they gave my wife a custom menu(see picture) along with complimentary martinis for both of us. The atmosphere and decor were beautiful with real lighted candles. My wife had the filet which was cooked perfect. I had the steak frites which were great. We had a side of mac n cheese and my wife said it was the best she’s ever had. Highly recommend Maple and Ash.
We had an good dining experience at Maple & Ash in Chicago. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was elegant yet energetic — the perfect mix for a special night out. The staff was attentive and made us feel truly taken care of throughout the evening. We started with the Dry-Aged Meatballs, Roasted Bone Marrow, and the Fire-Roasted Seafood Tower — every bite was outstanding. The seafood tower was especially impressive, beautifully presented and full of rich flavor. For our mains, we ordered the Galician Turbot and the 40-Day Dry-Aged T-Bone, paired with Whipped & Buttered Potatoes and Roasted Mushrooms. Everything was cooked to perfection — the steak was incredibly flavorful and tender, and the turbot was delicate with a buttery finish. The sides complemented the dishes perfectly. From start to finish, from the food to the service and atmosphere — was great. Maple & Ash is good place in Chicago for anyone who loves a fine dining experience!
WOW….I may have found a new fave steakhouse in Chicago. Starting off with a lychee martini welcome cocktail and some house made onion dip (with caviar) and chips, our experience was fantastic. The space is everything you would expect of a steakhouse, dimly lit with large candelabra that get moved from table to table, with plenty of soft furnishings to absorb the noise. I very much appreciated that we could all hear each other without shouting. The food was coursed out appropriately and was all around delicious! And our server was attentive and informative without being intrusive! Will definitely be coming back to Maple & Ash!
Great dining experience! My husband and I travel quite a bit and eat at high end restaurants quite frequently, so we are not easily impressed. We ate at Bavette’s last weekend and Maple & Ash is far superior. My husband had a ribeye and said it was comparable to his favorite steakhouse in Texas. Our waiter, David, was great and very accommodating. Literally the only negative to note is the noise level; other than that, a 5 star dining experience. We will eat here whenever we are in Chicago.
Nice steakhouse in downtown Chicago. great staff, lively atmosphere. amazing wine and drink selection. the surf and turf was a great meal. highly recommend the mashed potatoes, they were so good. Great place for a nice vibe and great dinner with good company.
First time in Chicago and had a great time. Maple and Ash did not disappoint. I had a seamless process from booking to a concierge reaching out to confirm what I would like my menu to say. Most importantly, I wish I could remember my waitress name but she was so amazing. She made my experience memorable and provided great hospitality. My ONLY complaint was the size of the oysters for the price (highway robbery!) lol outside of that, great establishment, hospitality + ambiance.
Honestly, I loved Maple & Ash! The food was amazing, the cocktails were perfect, and the whole vibe was just perfect. The service, A 10/10 — super kind and attentive. From start to finish, everything felt so good. Totally recommend it — just make sure to book ahead because it gets busy.✨
Absolutely amazing food and vibes. Celebrated both of my son’s birthdays there. Our server was great. The steak was fire. I was visiting from out of town and had someone else who also didn’t live in the city refer this restaurant. Highly recommend. Good for date night and only bring your kids if they know how to behave. We went at 930pm on a Wednesday night before thanksgiving…. lol
Very good seafood and steak. welcome cocktail is tasty and the complimentary chips with caviar! Usually not a big fan of shrimp cocktail but this one is amazing. dry age steak is also must try.
Maple and Ash is one of our favorites in Chicago. We come in annually for the Marathon, and this is always our race night celebration spot! It is not inexpensive, but the food and atmosphere is always spectacular, which makes it worth every penny. The service is attentive without being annoying, and from the greeter to the Sommelier, you feel like you are welcome. We have never had anything here that was not outstanding.
It was was Karen’s birthday, and what a dining experience we had—truly one of the most memorable! The evening kicked off beautifully with complimentary lemon-strawberry and a decadent roasted bone marrows appetizer. Our server Frank was impeccable—attentive, professional, and made the celebration feel even more special. We savored the summer three-course menu, starting with delicate scallops, followed by a juicy rib-eye, and finished with tender, flavorful octopus. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and absolutely delicious. The ambiance was enchanting—tall candles glowing atop the tables gave the space a magical, castle-like atmosphere, yet with a modern, elegant twist. It felt like being royalty celebrating a birthday in a timeless, fairy-tale-inspired dining room. This restaurant is an absolute gem—perfect for birthdays, date nights, or any occasion worth celebrating. Highly recommended!
Definitely one of the best dining experiences ever for me. I took my adult child to dinner for his birthday and I must say the Maple & Ash team delivered quite the memorable celebration. The staff and service was impeccable. The food was amazing and inviting. The presentation was spectacular. However, the atmosphere was a little difficult to be able to carry on a conversation. The overall noise level was high for what I would anticipate for a Monday night dinner. In the end the overall experience was a hit and we will definitely be returning!
Maple & Ash is an executive-style restaurant in the heart of the Gold Coast, very easy to find and absolutely worth the visit. The ambiance is luxurious yet inviting, making it a perfect place to spend an evening or a memorable date night. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Sarah, who was kind, knowledgeable, and guided us through the menu to help us choose what best suited our preferences. The food experience was exceptional. We started with a Caesar Salad, beautifully presented and fresh, followed by the Octopus — easily the highlight of the starters, cooked to perfection. The Château Wagyu was the true show-stealer — a flawless cut, served medium-rare, every bite worth savoring. The Agnolotti fish followed, creamy, smooth, and just the right portion size to enjoy fully. Finally, the signature blueberry dessert was a perfect ending — smooth, balanced, and delicious. From past visits, I can also say that Maple & Ash consistently delivers on service, food quality, and presentation. Every dish feels crafted with attention to detail, and the atmosphere makes it all the more special. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience — a perfect date night spot that checks all the boxes: ambiance, service, and cuisine. Couldn’t ask for more
We hosted a large company event at Maple & Ash and it was absolutely amazing. The service was outstanding from start to finish — attentive, professional, and seamless for such a big group. The seafood was extraordinary, fresh, and perfectly prepared, and the side dishes complemented everything beautifully. The atmosphere of the restaurant is elegant and stylish, making the entire experience feel special. Truly a memorable evening in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend Maple & Ash for both private events and an incredible dining experience.
Executive Chef Danny Grant has curated a fine dinning experience. Our fanrastic host, Frank, started us off with a complementary drink and a caviar French dip with chips. For a starter a had the ceaser salad which they smoke briefly on the grill which gave it a bold flavor. The grilled oysters were chefs kiss. I had the 28 day dry aged New York strip medium, lobster mac(shareable),and spinach (also shareable) i enjoyed every bite start to finish. My wife had the bone in filet and it may have been the 1st time she's actually finished her food in the restaurant.
I found this restaurant by chance but it turned out to be one of the best experiences I’ve ever had! We came in the group of 3. When we were seated we were greeted with complimentary lemon/orange martini and cheese with black caviar app. Our server Mike W was outstanding and super polite and professional. He truly made our experience very special. We took advantage of summer menu 3 course meal. It was so worth it! Everything was delicious. I really liked atmosphere there as well - tables were lit up with tall candles, and it made atmosphere so special like you are a queen in Middle Ages but with modern twist. Highly recommend this restaurant for dates or special occasions!
You’re greeted with a cocktail the moment you walk in — that alone sets the tone. The space has this intimate, almost cinematic vibe, lit entirely by candles that make the whole experience feel personal. We went for the seafood tower and the swordfish — both on point. Drinks? Exceptional. Everything about this place whispers class without trying too hard.
Where do I even start… From the moment you pull up, Maple & Ash makes it very clear, you’re stepping into an experience, not just a dinner. The valet sets the tone, the greeters keep it flowing, the coat check is flawless… every single staff member plays their role like they’re part of a perfectly rehearsed performance. Not forced. Not pretentious. Just dialed-in hospitality from people who clearly take pride in what they do. Then the cocktails hit the table. Invisible Lies, listen… this thing is dangerous. Crisp, bright, refreshing as hell, layered with citrus in a way that makes you forget you’re sipping alcohol. It’s the kind of drink that makes you stop mid-conversation and say, “Yo, taste this.” And even with the place buzzing, the manager, (Marco) still made it a point to visit tables, check on guests, and make sure the energy stayed high. That kind of presence matters. Now… the food. The foie gras and beef tenderloin steak tartare? Phenomenal. The smoked egg yolk adds this silky, smoky richness that takes the whole dish into another tier. It’s familiar, but elevated… comforting, but still exciting. But the true star of the night? The dry-aged tomahawk. Look, I’ve had a lot of steaks. I’ve made a lot of steaks. I know what good beef tastes like. This wasn’t just a steak… this was a moment. The dry-aging gives it that deep, nutty flavor. The crust? Perfect. The texture? Velvet with structure. And then they hit you with that “beefed up butter” and roasted bone marrow. Mix it all together and your mouth goes on a full-blown adventure, fat, smoke, umami, richness, like your taste buds are being baptized in flavor. It’s one of those bites that makes you close your eyes for a second so you can actually process what’s happening. From the staff, to the ambience, to the food… Maple & Ash delivers an experience you don’t just enjoy, you remember. Hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had, and one that’s going to be hard to beat
It was my first time here and everything was great. We made reservations and were seated timely. The food was great. I didn't care for the mashed potatoes, but it was okay. I would go back.
Went on a recommendation and could not be happier! Celebrating an anniversary and the food was amazing! Manager came over right away to greet us at our table. Server was Jennifer S, and she was the best. Ordered oysters, Aged Bone In Ribeye and fries- don’t skip the fries! And as a surprise, our server overheard us talking about an anniversary and she brought us a customized menu to celebrate. Completely unexpected! Highly recommend!
This has been on my bucket list of restaurants to go to ever since I heard about it. The restaurant is beautiful! I'm not sure how the do their acoustics however the music was loud over the crowd yet I could still very easily converse with my dinner companion without having to raise our voices or any difficulty hearing each other. The restaurant was packed! The service was top notch! I have never received such excellent service anywhere. The whole staff was attentive, polite, professional, very welcoming and highly efficient. I'm not a drinker however they served us a Grey Goose Martini gratis and it was luscious. We ordered the tasting menu because I wanted to sample as much of their food possible and I wasn't disappointed. The octopus was perfectly cooked. The steak melted in your mouth. And the dessert they brought out with homemade ice cream of vanilla, strawberry and chocolate with 3 tiers of toppings really finished the meal off divinely. If you're looking for a magnificent fine dining experience with a smart, contemporary vibe that isn't "stuffy" like most fine dining experiences, this is the place to go. I will be back!
Joined a business dinner of 14 and indulged into some delectable eats. Shareable apps & sides were ordered and everything was amazing - fire roasted seafood tower, meatballs, mushrooms, corn, brussel sprouts, and pasta. Alcoholic beverages were flowing, too (but don't recall any names). I ordered a bone-in ribeye with M&A butter. 🤤 Can't see why anyone would leave a bad review unless their service and/or order was completely screwed up. Thankfully, this was a business dinner - couldn't afford it otherwise. My only negative was the lighting - I understand the desired effect for ambiance, but the restaurant could a few pennies on increasing the lumens a tad. Overall, amazing upscale restaurant.
Fantastic all around experience. Epic wine list, great somm recommendations, perfect service. Opted for the caviar service, shellfish tower, and dry aged tomahawk ribeye. The crust on the ribeye was 👌 and cooked perfectly MR 🤌
Flew in from Philadelphia to check this restaurant out. Amazing service and great food. The Wagyu steak was perfectly cooked. Also had a caviar bump! Loved our server as well.
This place is phenomenal. The food was amazing but what stands out here is the service they offer. Very personal and made the night special. Thank you Maple and Ash.
Everything was awesome! The server recommended a couple of appetizers, and they were so good. The Eisenhower steak just melted in my mouth. The cocktails looked so cool especially the banana one!
I can’t say enough great things about our dining experience, but what truly made the night exceptional was our server, Q. From the moment we sat down, Q was warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. He offered fantastic recommendations, made sure our drinks were never empty, and anticipated our needs before we even had to ask. The food was absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked and beautifully presented—& Q’s service took everything to the next level. He made us feel genuinely welcome and created an experience that was both seamless and special. If you dine here, I highly recommend asking for Q — you won’t be disappointed. We will definitely be back.
We celebrated my birthday at Maple & ash and it was unforgettable experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely outstanding The steak was cooked to perfection, The seafood tower so fresh and the drinks were top-tier perfectly crafted. Huge shout out to our waiter, Fransico Who went above and beyond to make the night special, his service was attentive , professional an on point for every recommendation. The personalized menu with my name and it was a banger and such a thoughtful touch, it really made the celebration feel to the next level. Major credit to the management team for creating such a well, organize high end and welcome in experience. Maple & ash absolutely delivered, highly recommend and well, definitely be back.
Our 1st time at Maple & Ash was INCREDIBLE! Sarah Is a HUGE blessing to this restaurant. She has been trained well when things are out of her control. That didn't go unnoticed. We went on a Weds & it was packed. We got our appetizer 45 minutes in however the way Sarah did it was incredible! She made sure our drinks were filled, she brought up chips & French onion dip. It was gorgeous inside! The steak was tender & full of flavor. The coconut pie was delicious! The meatballs for appetizers had great flavor. Everything was fresh. Great experience!
Maple & Ash is an absolute experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is upscale yet welcoming, and the food was outstanding—perfectly cooked steaks, incredible sides, and expertly crafted cocktails. A special shoutout to Francisco, the gentleman who attended us. His service was exceptional—professional, attentive, and genuinely kind. He truly elevated our dining experience and made us feel well taken care of. I also want to commend the management team for running such a polished and well-organized operation—you can feel the leadership in every detail. Even the valet parking was seamless, efficient, and stress-free, which made the entire evening even more enjoyable from arrival to departure. Perfect for a special occasion or an unforgettable night out. Highly recommend—we will definitely be back.
Let me just say that if you are looking to feel special on your birthday-this is the place! Whomever came up with the concept for their style of service is a genius. From the first second you walk thru the door it's like going back in time and going into the future at the same time. So sexy, dark, and romantic. A special shout out to our server, Sarah. From one fine dining server to another-you gave that industry standard that so many servers don't get to experience and I couldn't have been more greatful. I rarely get to experience the other side of service-so, thank you!! The food and drinks were great. The octopus was my favorite dish and the French onion soup was the best I've ever had!! The only one note I have is that the sauce for the halibut was a bit too salty. It didn't matter, I was too happy to let anything bother me! Thanks again, Maple and Ash for an unforgettable dining experience on my birthday.
My friends had been raving about Maple and Ash, and on my recent trip to Chicago, I finally had the opportunity to experience it for myself. It exceeded every expectation. From the seafood tower and wagyu beef carpaccio to the decadent OMG, Pillows of Love pasta, the perfectly prepared tomahawk steak, and that unforgettable apple pastry, each course was a masterpiece worth savoring. The meal was indulgent, celebratory, and absolutely worthy of the hype. Compliments to the Chef for an exceptional culinary experience. What truly distinguished the evening, however, was our server, John David. Beyond impeccable service, he offered something rarer: authentic connection. In an era where kindness can feel scarce, his stood out in the most meaningful way. He was attentive, intuitive, charismatic, and effortlessly fun, but more than that, he was a genuine and gracious host. He elevated our evening from excellent to unforgettable. Request John David, and let him curate your experience. You will not regret it. I can’t wait to return!
I had an incredible experience at Maple & Ash last night celebrating my friend’s birthday, and a huge part of that was our server, Araceli. From the moment we arrived, she took exceptional care of our entire party. Her timing was absolutely perfect. Drinks were always refreshed, food arrived seamlessly, and she checked in consistently without ever being intrusive. We were a large group, and Araceli made sure everyone felt accommodated and taken care of. She paid attention to every detail. If a fork or knife was dropped, it was replaced immediately. She was also very thoughtful about the fact that it was a birthday celebration and went out of her way to make the birthday girl feel truly special. Every request I made was handled with ease and grace. Araceli truly delivered the full Maple and Ash experience, and I am so grateful for the level of care, professionalism, and warmth she showed us. I would highly recommend requesting her the next time you dine here. Beyond our server, the overall service at Maple and Ash was outstanding. From the valet, to the hosts at the door, coat check, and even the restroom attendant providing towels and mints, every interaction felt elevated and intentional. It was an all around fantastic experience, and I am really looking forward to coming back.
We visited on Feb 12th for my husband’s birthday. And needless to say, this place never disappoints. Food and service is always great. We love the seafood tower it’s always a must and I personally love the pornstar martini. This is always at the top of our list. From the brunch, to the happy hours to the dinners. Consistency is always there!
This was my third time visiting Maple & Ash. I come back each time for the excellent service. Sandra was my server and she was attentive and handled my questions and concerns with care. She provided excellent recommendations and made my brunch special. As an introvert, it was good fortune to visit Maple & Ash for brunch and it wasn’t crowded. However, for it to not be crowded, my entree (king crab eggs benedict) was delivered cold, which is unacceptable. Sandra and the onsite team made it right and the meal was redeemed thanks to the proper preparation of the carpaccio and the coconut pie.
The service and food are excellent! I didn’t expect it to be noisy; almost, you can’t have a conversation unless you speak as loudly as the other table—still, a good experience with the candlelight set up.
Enjoyed the food and the experience. Hard to justify it for the 2nd time as it is a bit overpriced. Nice and professional staff. Recommend it trying it once and make up your own mind for the next time.
My husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary, and we had such a great time. They offer valet service for $20, which was super convenient. The ambience is romantic and moody, with a very dim, intimate setting—definitely more of a younger crowd, which gave it a fun, lively vibe. We were greeted with a complimentary vodka drink to celebrate our anniversary, which was such a nice touch and a great way to start the evening. Since it was our first time, we decided to go all out and try the “I Don’t Give AF” menu, which is a four-course experience. The meal started with an oyster and a shot of vodka, followed by an impressive seafood tower. After that, we had steak tartare, and for the main course, a delicious mix of steak, fish, asparagus, and mashed potatoes. We finished with ice cream and a fun assortment of toppings. Our waitress was amazing—super friendly and knowledgeable. She walked us through the entire menu and made us feel comfortable trying everything. Overall, it was a memorable night, and we’d definitely come back for another special occasion.
Maple & Ash delivered a mixed experience for me. The atmosphere was lively, though a bit too loud and dimly lit for my taste. It made conversation and reading the menu more difficult than it should be. On the food front, some items stood out for their creativity and flavor, but overall, the execution was inconsistent. The wagyu experience was unfortunately overcooked and burned, while the tomahawk came out undercooked, which was disappointing given the premium price point. For the cost, I expected a more refined and reliable dining experience. While there were highlights, it didn’t fully live up to the hype.
It is my son’s birthday. We felt welcoming when they presented Birthday manual, even it is unreal. Place is nice, but food is pricey. I ordered small seafood tower for $140 and it felt like just for one person, you are getting one type of seafood per tower except clams. Services also took very long, I ordered T-bone steak, at first it was over cooked. I ordered medium rare, and came out well done. So I asked them to cook new one for me, but second one comes out much smaller. Over all, food tastes good, but pricey, and it took too long for waiting. At end they don’t do anything for Birthday boy.
Maple and Ash… Visited last weekend. Wonderful food but terrible customer service. Maybe I should just blame it being a busy night. Drinks were wonderful at the bar. Had a Reservation at 7:30 pm and wasn’t seated until 8:50pm. Server did apologize for the long wait but also had an attitude serving us and taking our order, as well. Server didn’t come back to the table to take the order till 9:20pm. Food was good but, overall experience was terrible.
We chose Maple & Ash to celebrate my daughter’s birthday on February 9, 2026, expecting an elevated dining experience to match the restaurant’s reputation. Unfortunately, the service was extremely disappointing and did not reflect the premium standard the restaurant promotes. Service throughout the evening was inattentive and disorganized. We experienced long waits, had to repeatedly ask for assistance, and the birthday we clearly noted in advance was barely acknowledged. For a restaurant at this price point, the lack of attentiveness and coordination was unacceptable. To make matters worse, when we asked for our remaining food to be boxed, the busboy carelessly dumped the food into the to-go containers in a way that felt rushed and disrespectful. It was an unfortunate final impression on what was supposed to be a special evening. When I raised concerns, management assured us they would “make it right,” yet nothing ever came of that promise. There was no follow-up, no adjustment, and no attempt to remedy the situation. Overall, this experience was disappointing and far below expectations for a restaurant of this caliber. I hope leadership takes service standards and guest recovery more seriously in the future.
