The Banshee Chico Reviews
Fabulous pub atmosphere. Great fish &chips, with a Guinness, can't be beat!!
The food is always outstanding! The atmosphere was good but a little bit loud for me. And there is no parking
Delicious food. Great bar 🍸. Just know the food is pricey, but worth it
I absolutely love this place. I get the mac and cheese with bacon, my girlfriend gets the BOJ burger and we share garlic fries, and everything is always delicious. They also do a good job of rotating out drinks on their cocktail menu. My girlfriend has been able to try something new just about every time we've gone. Can't recommend this place enough.
Can't beat the seasonal brisket pho! Hands down best tasting pho during this time of year! Grilled cheese and tomato soup was also superb!
Banshees is known for their mac and cheese, Mushroom, jalapeno and bacon. I never really liked mac and cheese but they made me a believer. It's a must try.
A local favorite. GREAT FOOD. Wide variety. Burgers are big and juicy, Philly cheesesteak super tasty. Big beer selection. Very friendly service.
Amazing food and great service and ice cold beer. Atmosphere was awesome as well will definitely be going back. Servings are huge two people can easily split.
Stopped in for a quick apatizer and a beer. They had a better selection of draft beers than a lot of places. I ordered a Great White and the Honey hot smoked wings with blu cheese. The food came quick and hot! In terms of spicy, they were not spicy at all, so if you're looking for a spicy wing you may want to try the buffalo sauce (I haven't tried it, I just assume it will have more kick). However, I was not disappointed! The honey glaze was excellent, not too sticky, sweet, and savory. The smokeyness of the chicken really came through, giving a full body blend of smokey and sweet that I loved. The chicken was cooked perfectly, hot and juicy! I will definitely go back to try more of their dishes. They have some interesting lunch combos that come with I think an entree a shot and a beer. The food is good enough that I would come here even if I wasn't going to drink.
Atmosphere was lively but not overwhelming, music playing but not so loud you can't think or have to yell at each other. The service was fantastic, personable and friendly and made sure we were happy. The food was amazing, large portions, everyone was impressed by the food and we are very picky when we order out because it can be expensive. The price is about what you'd expect for dining out and so many times I've paid $20 for a meal I've been disappointed in but this was NOT the case, money for actual quality. You won't be disappointed 👌
Just amazing!! Love that there is options but it’s not a huge menu. Fish tacos, Mac n cheese and wings hit the spot!! Was wanting to try the pho but it’s not available during the summer. Our server was sweet and it was great that you could seat yourself. The atmosphere was nice, could make for a great date night, spot to hang with friends or wanting to grab a drink!
Food service is excellent! Mac-N-Cheese is sinfully fu-king awesome! Both Cajun & Garlic fries are fu-king rad! Atmosphere is great! The pho French dip is out of this world awesome, the duck fat fries are delicious, this restaurant was also featured on Guy Fieri's Diners Drive-Ins and Dives it's a must-try! Currently they have indoor and outdoor seating and the duck fat fries are no longer on their menu but you can get them at B-street Public around the corner. I think same owner.
This place is hands down best food that you will find at any bar in Chico. They use quality ingredients and have a great menu that is simple. The menu options are all delicious, and the cooks that work here seem to have a culture amongst themselves. If you are traveling through and visiting downtown, you owe it to yourself to drop by this establishment and try them out.
I visited for the first time today. The food was really good. The fries were so crispy and perfect, i usually don’t like steak fries that much because they are soft but I loved these. The fish tacos that my friend ordered also looked amazing. We wanted to go for the pho but they happened to be out of it. I still really enjoyed what I ordered.
The Aussie Burger is the best burger I've had in a long time! Patty was seasoned/cooked perfectly, fried egg ✔️ cheddar cheese ✔️bacon✔️bun is delish✔️ and I added on the pickled beets root✔️ and skinny sliced red onion ✔️... Ate the pickles on the side 😁. Add to it the duck fat fries and it was a glorious meal! Have never had a bad meal here. Great beer selection and great pub vibe.
The food was different, but still good. Had the Mac and Cheese with mushrooms and some fries. Or, should I say I had that with my order of salt... Service was good and I walked in right as they were opening. I ordered take out and it took a while, but it came out hot and fresh. Atmosphere was very noisy for 11am, but it is a bar.
Recent update December 2025: It seems the kitchen is supposed to close at 11pm but I'd tried to find out if this was the case before going in and couldn't find any kitchen hrs anywhere online (normally this would be posted on the menu in at least one of the pics, but since they have old menus still viewable on their Google maps, it appears the kitchen would still be cooking later into the evening with just a smaller menu). So when I went in the bartender gave me hella attitude, dawdled a lot before taking my order, and even almost forgot the half of it that included a beer, so I guess at least I know he didn't tell me no just to get my drink order. He even loudly told the cook that he likes them more than me in FRONT of me. I'd much rather be told the kitchen is closed and would gladly go elsewhere if the alternative is to be treated like that. Maybe it's just been a rough day for him but it's literally the end of finals week and I'm just tryna chill and get a fat juicy burger. I came here instead of the Bear so I could eat good local meat. Previous review: They have really good food but the sound management is incredibly bad and the noise is very harsh on the ears. The clattery kitchen noises come through very loud and clear, voices bounce around super loudly, and the music can barely compete. Way too loud even when they're slow. They really need some sound dampening tiles or something, but maybe they like it noisy so that people don't get too comfortable and hang out longer than necessary. The back room is slightly better noise-wise, but the tables fill up fast.
