Popeyes Cicero NY Reviews
I had an issue with some items missing through postmates. Manager made it up and gave me what I was missing. I appreciated the gesture. Customer service was on point.
This location is the one I will continue to go out of my way for. Ashley always greets you with a smile and keeps the energy fun and friendly. Ash, if you're seeing this thanks for making Popeyes a great experience instead of just a restaurant :)
This Popeyes was very clean & the staff were really friendly. The chicken, chicken sandwiches, cajun fries, mashed potatoes, and so much more were all very good. Popeyes has some of the best chicken out there.
Fresh chicken and good Service I love it
Food was hot and served extremely fast. Only issue was the person working the drive through spoke very limited English and was difficult to understand, also seemed to be in a hurry despite no line not giving us a chance to finish a sentence without interrupting.
Stopped in for a quick snack and was unsure about what I’d want. Luckily Shannon was there and was able to make a great suggestion. I enjoyed every bite and will definitely be returning. Thank you Shannon for the great dining experience
Had an alright experience each time I go here.. 3rd time tonight and still better than Bremerton rd. Tonight we couldn't use 2 coupons at same time in drive thru. Okay coo coo we went in. Only customers there the entire time. Chicken sandwich was great. The amount of fries given seemed like quite alot compared to other fryd guys. Guilty pleasure night accomplished - watched multiple cars leave DQ drive thru line. That being a lane to exit back on 11 is faucked.
I work in Cicero. Decided to go by Popeyes in the area. I must say the young man at the window was awesome. I had a coupon for the food and he took with no issue. Will be back soon to place an order my whole staff.
I had a great experience at the Popeyes in Cicero everything was so good and fresh. Shanon took my order, he was very nice and made sure I had everything I ordered fast! Thank you!
Food comes fast and fresh, went in to use the bathroom and the store is clean as well as the facilities. The manager Shannon was nice and offered free Halloween candy as well.
Very friendly staff. Fresh and hot food. Kind words and clean restaurant. Asked for fresh food, waited about 10 mins for my fresh chicken. Was well worth the wait!
I love popeyessss Cicero they always fast and fresh chicken and fresh mac & cheese
The manager really puts the pop in Popeyes, He was very friendly, and energetic. He made sure my whole order was correct and complete and informed me on their new dessert biscuits that i never even knew they had, grabbed one and did not regret it one bit. My whole meal was fresh and delicious. 10/10 from the food to the interaction.
First time at Popeyes and the young man who waited on us, Shannon, was so nice and courteous and had such a pleasing personality. He is definitely manager material! The food was superb and I definitely will go to this location in Cicero so I can get Shannon again. A great asset for your company!!! The place was also very clean👍
Surprised at all the negative reviews here. Apparently, I'm one of the luckier ones. I arrived at Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen on Sunday, Nov. 12 at around 6:40 PM. The establishment was CLEAN and NEAT. The young lady who took our order was friendly, efficient, caring. The chicken (crisp on the outside...tender and juicy on the inside) was DELICIOUS...better (I might add) than Kentucky Fried Chicken. The beans and rice were scrumptious...flavored to perfection. I'm definitely going back there. I'll definitely go back there.
Walked into the store this evening and was greeted by a very polite and courteous manager who help me with my order. My order was made very fast and my food was hot. The store was very clean and you felt the hospitality. This store will definitely continue to get my business.
Nice and quiet mid-afternoon that I was ordering. Customer service was exceptional. Food came up very quickly and it was excellent for a decent price.
Last year I was considering leaving a 1 star review. Service used to be terrible and it seemed like no one knew what was going on. They've completely changed it around. My food is always insanely good and ready when I get there. I don't know what changed, but it's in a great spot right now.
I recently ordered lunch from Popeyes and I must say, I was very impressed. The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. What made the experience even better was their excellent service. The staff was polite, quick, and made sure everything was just right. I truly appreciate both the quality of the food and the professionalism of the service. I highly recommend Popeyes to anyone looking for a tasty meal with great service.
Did a fast food challenge with the kids and had the staff pick our meal for us for fun. Recieved an 8 piece tender meal with fries, mashed potatoes and gravy and biscuits. They gave us a strawberry drink that had fresh strawberries on the bottom. The food wasnt quite ready right away so we had to wait a few minutes. They gave us warm chocolate chip biscuits to snack on whe we waited. Everything was great and the staff were very friendly.
Spicy chicken sandwich is the best in the business, Mac and cheese is absolutely fantastic for a fast food joint. Drive-thru can be slow, but the food is always hot and fresh.
Thankfully, this location has opened up. We have another location by here, but the food is not the same. Since this location has opened, we have been here 3 times. The food has always been hot and tasty. The only complaint I have is that each time we went, we were missing something. 😔 But, I will be back here again, and I do recommend this location!
When it comes to Popeyes, KFC or Chickfila, it’s Popeyes for me…if the quality and service is good. However the location on brewerton near Mattydale was horrible. So I usually get my chicken sandwich from chickfila which has consistent quality and service. So when this new location opened near me I was excited. I ordered the chicken sandwich. Juicy, crispy, hot…just perfect! The restraunt was fully staffed…wait time was minimal…which is expected with a new opening…im sure in a few weeks its gonna be understaffed, quality is gonna drop so as of now i rate the Cicero location 4 stars as I tried to use my rewards app and was told they couldnt do it. I hope they keep this restraunt vibin like it is now or in a few weeks i may have to sadly post a rip 2* review if it goes down hill. But great place to visit now!
Great food and very polite employees, but the secret to a fast experience here is how you order! Pro Tip: Always order ahead on the app and select a pickup time. Then, arrive 5-10 minutes after that scheduled time. My first drive-through order had me waiting about 15 minutes in the parking lot. However, my 2nd and 3rd app orders were ready immediately when I arrived—zero wait time. The staff are super nice and the food is consistently good. Highly recommend this pre-order approach!
Let me start with saying always great food now on to service....just always an ordeal from not taking our orders correctly to waiting (once) 45 minutes. Seems like staff is either lacking training or just don't care
I got the infamous ghost pepper sandwich combo on my first ever visit to this restaurant chain. For almost $15, including bacon and cheese as add ons, I received a cold sandwich in an aluminum warm up package, a handful of lukewarm Cajun fries thrown in the bag, and a super strong tasting sprite. The sandwich saved the day because the fries were mediocre at best. I reheated the sandwich when I got home and it was nice, good heat and enjoyable. All in all not great but also not awful, but for the money, it was average overall at best. There’s better out there for sure.
I will first say that I did go in l1ater in the evening. There was plenty of chicken, but it seemed a bit dried out and not consistent with what I usually get when I occasionally visit. The counter staff was polite. I had cole slaw as a side, and it tasted very artificial. I couldnt finish it. I think the biscuit was the highlight of the meal. Quite disappointed, but I will add that I was in there later than the normal dinner hour
This is the second time my husband and I ordered a chicken sandwich and Cajun fries from Popeyes. And this is the second time we end up sick after eating there. Needless to say there won’t be a third time going back.
Service was quick but staff was rude. Didn’t give us a bag for our order, just handed our food items out of the window separately one by one. Also got the order incorrect on top of that.
Advertising ghost pepper tenders on drive thru menu, get told it is online only. Why put it on drive thru then?? No one handling our wore gloves. Guy packing our food dumped it all over counter.
First order was shortly after they opened. Chicken was undercooked and not edible. Chalked it up to new store, new preparers, etc. Ordered the 5pc tenders today, and disappointed once again for same reason. Tenders were totally undercooked and not edible. Bright side, biscuit is great, and fries are delicious. 2 strikes, you're out. Won't be ordering from them again. Recommend anyone order with caution and make sure food is properly prepared.
Normal pretty decent, but this time you can tell the chicken sandwich sat unter a heat lamp. Extremely tough and soggly. You'd think paying more for food would equate to a better experience. I asked for refund, at these prices, the food needs to be above the norm.
It hard people who work there cant understand them they need someone there that cant speak English too help them
Ala Carte ring up. Sticker Shock.! I been here a few times, order a $12 combo, get charged $30 because they ring it up Ala Carte. Order a $25 family pack, get charged $80 Ala Carte. $5 soda each, ignore that 2 drinks are part of the combo, you get charged any how. I dont think they even know what combo meals they have, because even when ordering by specific combo number, they ask what it is then ring it up Ala Cart prices. So expect to be over charged 2 to 3 times what a combo should cost. Makes me wonder if the employees are just over charging and skimming the till. Finding the store driveway is like trying to find your way around a convoluted maze. Parking sucks all behind building so even handi capped have to walk around the building if you want dine in. Its no wonder i never see any customers here. I dont expect them to stay open with busness practices like this. ***** ***** ***** ***** Bottom line, save your self the hastle, KFC is less than a mile south, way easyer to get in and out, and way way way more cost effective. At leaast they know that a $12 combo shouldnt cost $30.
Very disappointed. Came to get the family box for $20. Got home and most of the items were old and dry. Like they had been sitting around for hours. Biscuits for example were like hockey pucks! Tenders were hard and dry. No Coleslaw at dinner time! Didn't tell me there would be an extra charge for Mac & cheese as a side. Will be looking for a different location to take my business to.
Sadly, very very disappointed! Got lunch, the fries for two combos in a box together. Cheese curds burnt pieces of flour with zero cheese every single one. Parmesan chicken tenders were cold, dried out an inedible. The other order which was suppose to be three piece meal , was wrong they gave me chicken fingers even though he asked me a second time which I wanted. They were also cold and dried out. The chicken sandwiches are ok but $45 for the rest that went into the garbage. Never again!!!! Even though last year I had a great experience, how could you serve this food??????
I usually don’t leave reviews, but I feel like I have to this time. I understand things happen, but my recent visit to Popeyes was frustrating. It was around 4pm on a Sunday. It was nowhere at all busy. We ordered a chicken dinner combi, a tenders combo, and a fish sandwich through drive thru. We were told the fish sandwich would take some time, which was fine. We waited in the parking lot for 15–20 minutes and watched only two more cars go through. When they finally brought our order, we assumed everything was there. We should have checked the bag because unfortunately, when we got home, we realized the fish sandwich—the very reason we waited so long—was missing. Also, we're very familiar that a combo has one side and one biscuit, but the person taking the order kept asking us what our second side was. We were confused and kept asking, "When did it become two sides?" and he told us that "they keep changing it on us". Well, when I went home, I double checked. There is an option for two sides if you're ordering the large combo. We didn't ask for the large combo, but it was made out like that was the combo now. Not sure if they're confused or the franchise is trying to get more sales from the large combos. I understand that working in food service can be challenging, but this was disappointing. A simple double-check of our order by the staff could have prevented the issue. I hope this location improves its order accuracy because I usually enjoy Popeyes, but this experience makes me hesitant to return. I am also noticing whoever is responding to these reviews isn't making any offer to make things right. It's just a standard canned answer. Telling your team obviously isn't working, but there seems to be a trend here.
Good food when you actually get to order. Sat in the drive through lane for about 10 minutes then left after I realized the one car ahead of me still wasn't being helped. Seems like a staff overhaul is past due.
I'm not sure what happened to this location over the past few months, but service has gone downhill. Now they are randomly closed, but still accept online orders, so I must wait now for a refund, although it was easy to request one on the app. This is so disappointing because I just love popeyes tenders.
Good food, abysmal service. Been there a few times and they usually take a very long time. This time, sat at the drive thru speaker for nearly ten minutes with absolutely no response. Just drove off at that point. Not worth my time.
Jessica (Popeyes) Mar 14, 2023, 8:29 PM EDT Hi Thanks for reaching out! I am sorry to hear that the store was closed and you weren’t able to get the food you ordered. I know how disappointing that can be! Not to worry though, I have gone ahead and processed a refund of $32.35 for you. You should see this refund within 3-5 business days. Please let me know if I can help in any other way, and I hope you will give us another chance! Thanks, Jessica
Yesterday at 9:30 I came to the store and there was GM person talking to me and keep on forcing me to give 5 stars and write about good review about him and about the food he give me free biscuit so I can write good review about him.
Despite the negative reviews I decided to give this new Popeyes location a chance. I had never had Popeyes prior to this. As I bit into the very hyped up chicken sandwich, supposedly better than others such as Chic-fil-a, instead of chicken, I was greeted with large chunks of deep fried breading. To be truthful, the seasoning of that breading was quite good. However, biting on hollow breading with no chicken inside was traumatizing. I eventually did get to some chicken in the center, but any time I strayed away towards the tantalizing, long crispy edges of chicken sticking out from under the buns, my bite was only met with crumbling breading again! The coleslaw was average. The mac and cheese had some nice baked cheese brownage on top, but beneath the brownage it tasted comparable to frozen mac and cheese. The cajun fries were a little good. Is this breading catastrophe the norm at all Popeyes locations?
There isn’t a place that can guarantee you that they’ll mess up your order like this Popeyes. 6 separate visits each time walked out with less than 5 dollars of value when I spent over 20 dollars each time. Massive disappointment
Sky High Pricing - $28 for an 8 piece tender 'family meal' that barely fed 2 12 year olds. Tenders were small. Mac and cheese barely a serving for two. The only thing acceptable were the 4 biscuits. This same meal was like $12 pre inflation at other locations. Save yourself the time/money and order out from Tully's for the same or less. I doubt this place is operational in a year at this pricing.
There was a manager and one older employee"working" when I went there. The manager took my order, filled it after I waited for them to cook my chicken and still f@#d my order up. Gave me half my order. Which I didn't realize until I got all the way home, 15 miles away. Don't bother.
I love that Popeyes chicken, but not really sure how one has a franchise that sells gift cards, but then does not accept them. Just to be told that other stores under this franchisee doesnt take them either by mgmt. Popeyes corporate needs to look into this.
Saw several food safety violations as I work in food service also. Waited 15 minutes for food. The cashier gave me back 99 cents worth of change in nickels and 9 pennies. The tenders were quite small also.
I’ve never had worse service. Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time going. I’ve seen people wait in the drive thru for 5 minutes get no responses in either side, go inside and have no one working the counter and end up leaving all together.
These reviews are pretty accurate. New building, same old terrible service and quality you've learned to expect from most of these "quick" service places. 15 minutes for 1 chicken sandwiche. Awesome.
Horrible place they literally don’t care I ordered my food and got chicken that wasn’t fully cooked they forgot all the sides that where ordered sauce all over in the bag lucky I don’t take this shit back and throw it at them.
Slowest fast food experience I've ever has. Waited for 10+ minutes for nuggets while no other cars drove through. Better management needed.
The worker dumped half a soda on my friend’s lap and barely apologized. It was visibly precarious in the carrier and a totally preventable spill, and her attitude of very nearly laughing rather than apologizing was abhorrent.
I went to the drive through on August 1st. The employee told me through the speaker that she was the only one there, so I'd have to come inside. I left. My thought was the food could not be good if only one person is doing everything. I ran an errand. On my way back, I saw cars at the drive through. I figured more employees showed up, so I took a chance. The cars in line weren't going anywhere. Nobody was even talking to them. I had to wait for the person in front of me to pull forward so I could leave. I love Popeye's chicken, and I was one of your regular customers. You lost me forever. I'll never go back.
Went through the drive thru during my lunch, they had me pull forward to wait for my food to be done. Not sure why because there was no one behind me and i was the only one there. 10 minutes go by, turns out they forgot i was even there and i had to walk into the store to get my food. They threw it together and handed me a bag with a free desert, which i didn't eat. They forgot my sides and sauces and drink. Absolutely ridiculous how you can forget about the only customer waiting for their food. Do better and stop letting your employees be high on the clock if they can't function
The wife & I were on a time schedule, so when the popular local chicken restaurant up the street told us it would be 30 minutes to get a table, we decided to come here instead. I had never been to this particular Popeyes location, but I have always had a good experience at the others around town. Turns out we should have waited for that table. I have never seen what had happened to me ever happen before in my life. We walked in for dine in, and what I assumed to be the GM (since she was running the place) asked us how she could help us, we started to place our order, and then right in the middle of it she stopped taking it to address a man who just walked in regarding a DoorDash order for ghost pepper wings she couldn't fill. She then went about handling several other concerns in the restaurant before returning to finish taking our order about 5 minutes after she stopped taking our order in total. Now that alone is inconvenient, but as a former chef and manager, I understand that sometimes problems crop up that have to be dealt with A.S.A.P., so I didn't think much of it. That is until the next order came in and the process repeated itself. In short, the staff prioritized every single other order that came in over ours, even though we had been there first. I noticed a hierarchy. Drive through was priority 1. DoorDash (which every order seemed to be for these wings they didn't have) was handled directly by the GM (who was also running the front counter and the sandwich station), who would drop whatever she was doing to handle immediately. Walk-in was last, but even that had a hierarchy. I watched the staff prioritize the one other walk-in customer over us because that order didn't include a sandwich. In fact, the sandwiches and every DoorDash order being for wings that don't exist seem to be the problem breaking this restaurants flow. That doesn't excuse the horrible service, though. My half of the order sat for 15 minutes while waiting for them to make my wife's half, because every time someone from DoorDash came in for wings the person making the sandwiches had to stop and handle it. By then, a new drive-through order for a sandwich had come in, so they gave my wife's sandwich to them. Wash, rinse, repeat. When they finally made her sandwich (and announced that they were out of sandwiches for the night. I imagine if one more drive through order for a sandwich came in that my wife wouldn't have gotten her sandwich) and put it on the tray I had been watching for 12 minutes they then realized they never got her sides, and had to make more fries... By the time we actually sat down to eat, it was 8:46pm. Our receipt had an order time of being placed at 8:29pm. 17 minutes. Add the 5 minutes we had been put on hold initially, and that is 23 minutes of waiting. My food, which had been sitting for 15 minutes without heat, was now very close to room temperature. It also took us about 7-8 minutes to drive from the other restaurant to this Popeyes, so all in all, I really should have just stayed at the first restaurant. Yeah, I would have had to wait longer still, but at least I would not have had to wait 23 aggravating minutes for room temperature food.
The first several times I wanted to try this place I was advised they were out of chicken. Really? How does that happen? When I finally did try it I wound up sick to my stomach a few hours later. Tried it a second time and the chicken was like rubber and a few hours later? Bam, sick again. Not only that, when I went inside, the roof was leaking with a slippery floor and nobody concerned enough to clean it up. There won't be a 3rd time.
Food is always old and never good. When they first opened this location was great but it’s gone to crap. All the workers here are rude and judgmental. Including the managers. They close their lobby 3 hours early. This place is just ridiculous
Restaurant management is awful. Placed online order and waited in Lobby for an hour for food. Only having 2 or 3 workers scheduled to work on Friday dinner rush is unacceptable. Workers did not have training to give refunds for long wait times. Workers contacted Management for help during this chaotic rush by the 2 Workers on duty, and management did not answer the call for more help to be called in. The crew on duty did put effort in the orders but they were extremely overwhelmed. Not the Workers fault, this failure is due to terrible management. Will take a long time to try this location again.
Drove up to the drive thru. The female on the speaker spoke in a lazy tone with no articulation basically not caring. We started saying our order and she disappeared. We waited for about 3 minutes (mind you it was not busy at all-one other car) then left. This place is doomed! Chick-fil-A just down the road is closed for renovations and Popeye's was dead. Won't ever go again.
I was very excited to see the new Popeyes closer to me open this weekend. Unfortunately after I visited this location I was very disappointed. Usually when I visit the Popeyes in Mattydale I get the 5 wing spicy dinner combo. So my fist disappointment was the fact that this new location doesn't offer that item. The girl that took my order in the drive thru rushed when taking my order and got it all wrong. I asked for a 5 tender meal blackened with blackened ranch for the sauce, but what I got was 3 classic tenders with buttermilk ranch. It was not a mistake made by the team members it was clearly a mistake made by the girl taking my order per my receipt. I do understand that they just opened but if she had just slowed down and listened to me when I ordered I would not have left with such a bad impression of this new location. Guess I will just travel a little further back to Mattydale so I can get my original 5 wing combo which is really what I wanted. Sorry just stating the facts.
Tried a brand new location because the hubby wanted to try Popeyes. New location, same issues. Every table was dirty with an empty room. And only one napkin container near registers as i was trying to clean a table. Manager who overheard me said it was because of shift change. Also out of sodas with the only beverages available being tea which we can't have. They were unable to refund for drinks and substituted a dessert item. Kids menu had no options of what you could get. Just empty under menu. Experience underwhelming.
Every time I went to this Popeyes, the girls always acted so careless, lazy, and rude. On top of that, they mess up my order every time, and also never put napkins in the bag. Always forgetting everything… whoever manages this place really needs to change something your workers are horrible. This place sucks and honestly I will never go there ever again. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
We were waiting in the drive-through for 20 minutes, and the only guy behind the counter was just playing on his phone. Didn't even look over when we honked, and it was only 6pm. Should not advertise as open
This Popeyes is the worst I have ever seen. It definitely feels southern. No urgency. The girl at the counter with glasses had to keep telling me how nauseous and sick she was feeling..not a good thing to tell someone who is near food being served. There is a guy with glasses and greasey longish hair handling food. Seems as though the young black chick is the only one who has it together. No napkins with my meal and the chicken looked unedable. I only had 2 pieces of my meal. No one is cleaning off tables. If it's this dirty where people eat, is it as clean as where the food is? Manager/owner needs to come in and observe this place. Poorly run.
I wanted to support the new local Popeyes but they ended up charging me extra for a sauce when they said it came with the tenders. The tenders were TINY, small nugget size. Other locations don’t count these nuggets as tenders. They didn’t give me a spork for my mashed potatoes. When you open a new location, it’s the small things that will help you succeed. This location’s reputation has now been set as a cheap Popeyes that nickel and dime you after lying about the sauce and not even providing basic utensils to eat their small portions. But hey, at least you were able to buy balloons, right? Train your staff better.
THE LADY WORKING the register AT 1 pm 12/10/22, this is for you. Actually all of you. This is one of the worst locations I’ve EVER been to. Do NOT go here. Unless you want to waste your time. Every single time I go here whether it’s the drive thru or the lobby they can’t do their job. You can wait an hour in the drive thru for a small fry and a drink, or get no service at all (since they close their lobby inside around 1pm on a Saturdays). You’re welcome. They should’ve put something else at this location. I’m never going to another Popeyes ever again. I’m over it.
How can you be a chicken place but never have any dam chicken. Went to popeyes tonight the one in cicero ny only got half my order in drive thru.got home to find this out.cant call the place because there is no number online for them.cant contact support because I didn't keep recipe .they asked if I wanted a receipt I just said no.every single person in this restaurant needs to be replaced with people that will actually do there job.i am beyond done going there or to any popeyes from now on.KFC it is from now on.
Didn't get to eat, the staff would not acknowledge we were even there. Waited over 10 minutes and they COMPLETELY ignored us so we left and went next door to Dairy Queen. This franchise owner really needs to get a handle on their staff or they will be closing soon.
Went through the drive thru there were no cars in either lane. Was told to wait a minute, another car pulled up to the other speaker and their order was taken right away. Another truck pulled up to the other lane and we could hear them getting their order taken. We ended up driving around and going in to get our order taken to go. The people working seemed more interested in their phones than customer service. The chicken was definitely made earlier in the day and was not spicy like we ordered. If I could give zero stars I would.
We got old fries and my chicken sandwich was….questionable. It took around 20 minutes to get our food as well and I’m probably going to get sick later from eating it. Also their AC is busted and was literally leaking into the dining area with no cation sign. Get this location more staffing and new management, it’s unacceptable
The. Absolute. Worst. Ordered a 5 piece blackened tenders and this establishment served me 2.5 strips cut in half. I didn’t spend $17 for struggle strips! I’m not sure why Popeyes in CNY is so horrible; it’s been a go to for years in the south before we relocated.
Very unprofessional food tasted like shit and was cold fries made hours ago Mac an cheese smallest half scoop I’d ever seen wasted 30 dollers and didn’t even think about eating it
I haven't been here in over a year so I thought I would try again after a bad experience the first time. Same results. I will NEVER come back here again!!! I placed a mobile order. 15 minutes later I arrive at the store and walk inside. There were NO OTHER customers inside!!! I immediately notice employees talking to each other, obviously not paying attention!!! I am shortly greeted with, "Hi, how can I help you?" I said, I'm here to pick up a mobile order. He then walks over to the printer and takes the slip out of the printer. Obviously too busy talking and not paying attention to orders coming in!!!! He then says, it will be 15 to 20 minutes. Again, I placed this order about 15 minutes prior to arriving!! Where is the management here? Totally ridiculous. It ended up being over 30 minutes when I finally got my order and left. He told me everything in my order so I assumed it was all good but I should of checked, because after I got home, no barbeque sauce or the biscuit that was supposed to come with it. I didn't go back because I wasn't going to drive 15 minutes back to the store. I'm waiting for this new store to open closer to my home before I ever go back to Popeyes again and this place will eventually go out of business because customer service sucks!!!
If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. This so-called franchise is a complete joke. I placed an order online expecting convenience, only to end up waiting over 30 minutes to pick it up. What’s the point of having a drive-through if you make customers wait in the parking lot, especially when the restaurant isn’t even busy? The customer service is abysmal—slow, unresponsive, and downright careless. The staff at the speaker clearly couldn’t care less about their jobs or the customers they’re supposed to serve. This place is an insult to the concept of “fast food”
Insane prices. 15 dollars for 3 tenders. Good food but seriously. Get real. Waiting to see poppies go out of business after this. The once forgotten price gouger. KFC is My chicken spot after this. Same food. Same chicken.
My kids begged me for Popeyes, so we stopped in at this location. There was only one other gentleman there getting food, so I figured it wouldn’t take too long for 4 chicken sandwiches. Sadly I was wrong. All three people they had working in the back were not wearing gloves. The boy who took our order just kept apologizing for how long it was taking but did nothing to fix the problem. The food finally came out and all four sandwiches were absolutely disgusting 🤢 looking. First of all, I don’t know where all the tops of there buns went but all four chicken sandwiches had a bottom bun on the bottom and the top with so much mayonnaise pouring out of it. We ended up throwing all of them away. I’m so annoyed, I will never go back to this location. Ever. This place should just shut down if they can’t follow food regulations and guidelines. So gross.
This place is a complete joke. Sat in the drive-thru for 10 minutes with ZERO cars around, just to be told to go park and wait. Then they made me sit there for another 30+ minutes for food that should’ve been ready in 5. I’ve had faster service at a hospital ER. This spot doesn’t even deserve 1 star — shut it down already.
Absolutely awful. We ordered 2 chicken sandwiches one being and meal and an order of shrimp. We did not receive the shrimp so had to pay again. The French fries were thrown into the bottom of the bag in no sort of container and they were out of large cups so we got a medium drink and we’re still charged for a large. I do not recommend this place. The server at the window was extremely disrespectful as well.
I agree with all the other negative reviews, this place sucks. I used to go down to the North Syracuse location before this one was built, and was excited since this new location was very close to my neighborhood, but it came to a huge disappointment because the service sucks here. They never got my order right a single time. For example, one time I ordered wings, but instead they gave me breasts. Another time when I ordered lemonade, it tasted like water! Not only that, I always ask for ranch at the drive through, but when I get to the window, I check it and they never give me ranch, and I have to ask for it everytime, and they charge me for sauce! Today, they also gave me mac and cheese instead of rice and beans for my side. Also, today in the drive through, when I was going to use two coupons for an order, they said I could only use one, because its in the drive through and not inside according to the manager. I've been here over 20 times in the drive through and they never said such, and always were okay with two coupons. How come all of a sudden this is a thing? Maybe because the parking lot is empty everyday and the lack of customers, it's causing them not to have enough money, which therefore they had to say that to me to save money. Well maybe if you actually did stuff right for once, you wouldn't have this problem. Another time I was ordering in the drive through, they told me to pull off to the side. I waited there for 5 minutes and they had to come out and check my receipt to see what I ordered. Then they came back and gave me someone else's order, even after looking at my receipt. I gave the order back, and then 10 more long minutes later, returned with my halfway correct order, but again, I ordered rice and beans, wings, and ranch sauce. They instead gave me breasts, no ranch, and no rice and beans. Only god knows if either that was my order messed up, or someone elses order, because at this location its difficult to tell unless your god himself. I'm never going here again, and will drive 20 minutes so I can actually get the order I want. I could go on and on and the list keeps going. I'm done.
Worst fast food experience ever. I went to get Popeyes last night around 7:30ish with my family and we decided to go through the drive thru. When we got to the establishment there were only 2 cars in the parking lot and no one in the drive thru. When we get to the place to order the interaction immediately started off bad. It seemed as though the person taking our order didn’t really know the menu too well so there was a woman in the background shouting things at him to say which just made it hard to hear. There was a few times where the woman came onto the intercom repeating what the boy said and proceeded to give me attitude because I couldn’t understand what the boy was saying. When we finally finished ordering we got to the window and the guy that was helping us didn’t even greet us or say the total, he just stood there waiting for us to hand him money. Then after we paid he told us to pull into the parking lot because our food was going to take a while. I understood because I also work in customer service where I work a drive thru however there was nobody else at the restaurant, so us parking in the parking lot would just make it inconvenient for them to have to walk our food out to us. I ended up going to park in the parking lot and started looking over the receipt and realized we were charged for a drink on one of the orders when we didn’t ask for one. So then we went back to the window and waited there for someone to come over. No one ended up coming over and we even got looked at by one of the employees and she still didn’t come over. I then waved and she finally came over and we told her what happen, she then proceeded to take the receipt and just stare at it and didn’t say anything. Then my mom said we can just take another soda to make it easier and the lady just walked away and grabbed a soda for us. No sorry or nothing. Then I told her that we were just going to wait at the window since there was no body else at the restaurant and she said well you food is ready so it’s fine. We got our food and I asked for a few more sauces since they only gave us 2 and the manager told one of the employees that we can only get 2 more or they’ll have to charge us. I understood that but seeing how they just charged us for a drink we didn’t ask for I’m sure a few extra sauces would be fine. The whole interaction just left a sour taste in my mouth and almost made me not want to eat the food. The food ended up being pretty good I will say but based on the customer service we were provided last night I will not be going back to this establishment.
When I arrived at Popeyes today, nobody was there, but I saw a black person smoking in his car and not caring about his job at all. I do not like Popeyes, and I will never eat there again. I received my order, but the food was not even cooked well. N It was not the food I ordered.
Absolutely ridiculously horrible! I cannot believe this service here!!! Went to get 2 large fries and paid $15.10. The horrible guy working the window gave us 2 small fries in a bag and when we asked if this was large he said yes. I cannot believe $15 for 2 small fries. When I went in to ask someone else if this was large. I got the same guy and when I asked him if this was 2 large fries. He said ummm. And I said usually the come in a box. His response was oh we're out of boxes. So that gives you the right to only give me 2 small fries? Couldn't just fill a bag or something? I should've looked at the reviews on here before trying this place. Well we've tried it and dont ever intend on going back or telling people to try it. The only thing the guy did was give us 2 more small fries to compensate for 2 large fries. So still got screwed on our order which was completely simple. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Absolutely terrible food and terrible service EVERYTIME. It's the 3rd chance I gave this place and I never will be back. How about getting some competent workers in there? Cold food, old fries and they had me pull into the parking lot to wait for mac n cheese then never gave me a utensil to eat it with? No napkins as well, the sandwich was literally swimming in mayo. Like the place is disgusting, 0 stars if I could.
Just horrible!! Ordered two spicy chicken sandwiches and fries. The sandwiches took 20 minutes and did not have and toppings, just the chicken and the bread. I watched a worker mixing an order of cold fries in with warm fries. Didn’t matter my fries were still cold.
Food is old and cold. $18 for 5 cool chicken tenders . People sux and barely speak English. Louisiana my keyster .
Do not believe them. Awful service, every time and this is the new location in Cicero. You'd think they'd be on top of it. They give you a wait time, of ten minutes but they take twice as long, and there's nothing you can do but wait. This visit, I drove up and sat there, waited about 4/ minutes at the speaker as the only car in the drive thru, finally someone said “give me a second”!!! Ok, I gave my order, he says, pull up without giving me a total, I pull up he says it’ll be ten minutes. I drove away. Popeyes has pretty good chicken but y’all need to vet the owners you partner with. It doesn't seem to be working out. Please do not be condescending, *” we know waiting isn’t fun” It's what is called fast food, you throw the food in a box and hand it out a window, not hard. If I wanted to wait 15 minutes I would go to a restaurant sit down and have someone bring it to me on a plate. Just stop with the AI generated responses.
Unprofessional as hell! Literally waited almost 15 minutes while half the staff is out in the car smoking just for someone to finally come to the window and act confused like she didn't know what I was waiting for. The food yup you guessed is old hard as rock and stale. Why does every popayes in Syracuse suck? I figured this one since being in cicero would be way better with more professional employees, but nope. Syracuse fast food is trash.
I normally love Popeyes however, at this location and as of five minutes ago I don’t think I will be coming back . The service was absolutely terrible , the man who took our order couldn’t even speak English and I explained in detail the entire order and after paying and looking at the receipt it wasn’t correct so after ten minutes of trying to get his attention I explained the mix up and that I needed the other two Sandwich’s he only rang up the one and walked away and I had to then wave over another worker to again ring me up for yet another sandwich. Not once did the gentleman say sorry or try to fix the mistakes and then watched him slamming a stapler and being very rude.
I placed an order through the app for 4 items. I had two coupons for free items (an incentive for trying Popeyes for the first time) that I applied to my order and bought two items at full price. When I got to Popeyes two minutes later, they were closed and no one was there. Needless to say, I didn’t get my food. Popeyes refuses to refund me what I paid, but offered me a coupon for two of the four items I was supposed to get. The worst part is the charge to my card was pending until after customer service got back to me about the order, which is when they pushed the charge through to compete it. This was my first ever order with Popeyes and my last.
What is the point in ordering ahead of time if I’m told I need to wait because they just dropped the chicken. ( they said about 12 minutes) actual time about 15. I ordered about a half hour ahead of time. It was not busy. No cars ahead of me and only one other order waiting in the parking lot. Will not be coming back. The food itself was good but not worth having to wait after planning ahead , trust the reviews. They are accurate. This was Sunday night around 8:20pm
Place started out good... But holy Lord they are the worst now, took me 45 minutes to get my food, Either they have poor training, bad hiring, or just bad management. But this is absolutely the worst Popeyes I've ever been to. It's such a same because it started out so strong. If this was my Popeyes, I'd be all up in that business.
Gave me raw chicken and undercooked food from sides to chicken and won’t answer phone let alone when the manager answered he had a very poor attitude and immediately turned me down and won’t refund me or do anything about it very horrible place very unprofessional and do not recommend eating here meanwhile it took them 30 minutes to hand me my food ide expect to do be done let alone drive through and store was completely empty and me and my family went gurney last night to to their poor food and service after spending $$50 there
What’s the point of a fast food joint if they can’t get your order correct when there’s not a single other customer around? I’m absolutely done with these two-bit companies accepting next to zero customer service from employees and not being able to complete the most basic service that they’re offering as a business. I placed a mobile around 11 AM. I show up 20 minutes later. About 5 minutes after the scheduled pickup time. The place looks closed. Not a single car in the parking lot or customer inside. I walk in and I’m greeted with a loud “FOR HERE OR TO GO” from behind the counter. Guess we’re skipping the simple “hello” today? Anyway, the lady yells some stuff to people apparently working in the back, essentially asking what they’re doing. Then starts getting my order together. Which somehow still hasn’t been completed after 25 minutes, even though there’s not a single car in the drive thru, or customer in the lobby. I was in and out pretty quickly. But then I drive back to work and realize both chicken items I ordered were completely wrong. I ordered the spicy chicken tenders box. I got normal, non-spicy tenders. And I was given the wrong sauce. I also ordered the original boneless wings with bbq sauce. I’ve been to Popeyes once, so I wanted to try a few things. Those were wrong as well. The box was labeled as “honey pepper lemon”. Not what I ordered. And much to my surprise, it wasn’t even Honey Pepper Lemon wings inside the box. So not only were they not what I ordered, they also weren’t even what they were labeled as. That level of incompetence is almost impressive. The food was decent enough. But shouldn’t it be? That’s literally what they offer. Why should I rave about a chicken join having decent chicken? Putting it bluntly, I can see why the place was empty. And if they screw literally everything up that badly at 11 AM in the morning when nobody is around, I can’t imagine what it’s like during busy hours. I’m sure I’ll get some generic “we’re so sorry for your experience” to this review. But nothing will change. Save yourself the time and go elsewhere.
Terrible service . They advertised a deal on their window on a HUGE poster then said I couldn’t have that because “there was no button” this is the manager who said this to me. She was flustered and annoying but she said she guesses she’ll do it. I get my food paid $2 for sauce that I never received the fried tasted old and the chicken was so rubbery and hard like it was sitting there for hours
Update: 3/17/2024 Horrible customer service. They close at 10 o'clock on Sunday's but at 9:15 they gave attitude in drive-thru because they "close soon". 45 minutes is not "soon" and there was no need to make that comment as part of the transaction. I do NOT recommend this store. Past Review: Service was less than desirable in a warm, clean, and (mostly) organized setting. The manager informed us they were out of blackened chicken, Cole Slaw, and Sweet Tea at 1 o'clock on Christmas Eve. There were 3 people working and the restaurant was empty, but we had to ask for lids for our cups because there weren't any stocked. Manager kept telling cars in Drive-Thru there were only 2 people working, but by my count there were 3. They locked the doors after they turned away the gentleman behind us because they had no gift cards to sell.
The worst place ever!! Never go to this restaurant.. go to the one on brewerton rd Syracuse. They are so much nicer and the best.. I ordered the 8pic meals and asked 3pic mild and the rest spicy with only one pic breast but they gave me so much breast in all one small bag and The bag got ripped And there was only 7pc. I was missing one pc of chicken. I went back to the restaurant and told them to give me something for breast and they were yelling at me and told me there is nothing they can do and asked me to leave the store or will call someone. This is not how you treat customers like that…the two guys were so rude. They can’t talk nicely. They were screaming all the time.I’ll never go to this store again.. there were 2 guy in the store..
Ordered for my food to be ready between 8:35 to 8:45, showed up at 8:40 and went to walk in to the lobby thats supposed to close at 9, doors were already locked. Went to the drive thru, told them my name, and they said nothing, closed the drive thru door and i sat in my truck patiently for 15 minutes till they handed me my food. Got 4 sandwiches, and whats in this full sandwich bag is the excess amount of breading from all 4 of them. The bag is heavy and its only breading. Nasty!
Being from Clay, NY., I was happy a brand new Popeye's location opened up, but unfortunately they provided my family and I with uncleaned shrimp. I have high risk of getting ill due to bariatric surgery and I'm very disappointed as this was my first time at this location and had expected more from a brand new location. I personally work in Quality Assurance for a living and know the importance of delivering quality product. This should be addressed before it makes anyone, including myself and my family ill. Thank you for your time and hope for better come future. Best, -A.B.Ceney
