Totalmente recomendable Campobaja. :)

Some of the best bites we had in CDMX. The atmosphere is relaxed and loved the retractable roof. The spicy margarita was fantastic. We also had the mussels, aguachile curry, tuna tostadas, and fried shrimp. The mussels were a flavor bomb. We also went on a Monday night and the food came out super fast and the service was perfect. Will be dreaming of this meal for a while.

The kitchen is inspired by the cuisine of a Mexican fish camp. The quality of the seafood is paramount, and the menu is designed for sharing, with dishes ranging from ceviches and aguachiles to burritos, tostadas, and fish tacos. Set on two floors, the restaurant's upper level is reminiscent of a warehouse with high ceilings, iron beams, and recycled wood materials. The vibes are chill, but the food is GREAT. Fresh seafood and a large range of dishes of raw and grilled. Good cocktails too, personally loved the maracuya margarita! French fries w/ ikura was a huge surprise but amazing. Recommend the tartare tostadas. Lots to choose from, always have fresh. Friendly staff. Low key vibes

I don’t normally leave reviews but I had to come on here and shout these guys out. We dined here tonight - four adults and three kids under 5 years old - and had the most amazing experience. Not only was the food incredible, every single staff member we encountered was friendly and welcoming to both us and our children. Not once did we feel scrutinized for bringing our children in. In fact, it was one of the most family friendly restaurants we’ve been to, primarily due to the incredible staff who joked with our kids, brought them little Knick knacks to entertain them, brought them balloons to blow up, etc and one of the owners even went out of his way to help us bring the strollers up and down the steps. It’s rare to find a restaurant that is BOTH kid friendly and has an extremely high quality menu for the parents. Thank you guys for a wonderful night!!

We walked into Campobaja by chance and didn’t realize until later that it’s Michelin-recommended. We arrived around 5 pm on a Saturday evening without a reservation and were pleasantly surprised to get a table. The waiting area downstairs had a great vibe, with an impressive selection of mezcal and tequila. Unfortunately, my alcohol tolerance is pretty low, so I couldn’t really enjoy tasting them, but it was still fun to see. We started with oysters and chocolate clams, which were good and reminded us a lot of what we’ve had in Baja. The octopus leg, however, was the standout dish of the night. It was absolutely amazing and definitely the highlight of the meal. Service was a bit slow, and we didn’t have one dedicated server, but overall it was still decent. For dessert, we ordered the flan. Even though it took quite a while to come out, it was incredibly delicious and totally worth the wait. The restaurant is quite dark at night, making photos a bit challenging. I imagine it would look beautiful during the daytime. Overall, a great experience and definitely worth a visit in Mexico City.

The atmosphere here is very elegant, and visiting on a rainy day adds a completely different kind of charm calm, cozy, and beautifully atmospheric. I usually prefer sweeter cocktails. Based on the recommendation, the drink I tried was just okay not bad, but not particularly memorable. However, some of the appetizers stood out with a very interesting sweet-and-sour balance, which was quite unique. The main course was also well executed and enjoyable. The octopus with chips, though decent, wasn’t especially impressive compared to the other dishes. I’d recommend exploring other items on the menu instead. Overall, a lovely place with a great ambiance and several strong dishes worth trying.

Wow— I had the best ceviche I’ve ever had here! The oysters were also delicious. I tried several and they were each good in their own way. I’d come back here just for the oysters or ceviche!

Fantastic. No wonder they made Michelin’s list. There servers were great. Dishes were superb. Highly recommend the octopus and ceviche. My friend ordered the squid with ink and I was resistant. But it was great.

What a wonderful surprise. They let us in and we ordered food for six in two rounds. I highly recommend the clam aguachile and really all the aguachiles. They were acidic without burning, with really balanced fruit flavor. The arroz negro used extra butter to cut against the heavy squid ink, leading to a delicious hearty main. The octopus was perfectly cooked, smooth rather than chewy. The fries with roe were fantastic, triple cooked fries with the pop of the roe providing a distinct advantage over regular fries dishes. The fishes were all clean and fatty as well. Highly highly recommend this place. Lovely dishes, I recommend ordering two per person.

We came here somewhat on a whim and it’s our favorite meal in cdmx so far. The octopus specifically is the best I’ve had (as someone who eats often). The service from the minute we sat down was attentive and we observed the same for other tables. Will be telling all our friends to come here!

A truly memorable meal. The seafood was excellent — the grilled octopus and prawns were phenomenal, and cocktails were equally impressive. The ambience makes it a standout spot. Service was friendly at first but faces turned grumpy AFTER a 10% tip (which is already high and not mandatory), so that felt odd. Servers spoke very limited English, so it helps to have a menu translation ready to streamline ordering. That said, the food is strong enough that it doesn’t take away from the experience and well worth visiting if you want high quality seafood.

I was excited to try Campobaja based on the menu reviews and stopped by for lunch on a Friday afternoon shortly after they opened. Thankfully it was quiet and I was seated right away. Even though I was dining alone I tried several things: -Tuna Tostda: super fresh tuna -Sweet potatoe ceviche: packed with flavor, but almost a bit too salty -Chicken tinga quesadilla: unique flavor when combined with the pineapple bits; super tasty when adding in the onions & hot sauce that are served with it. *You can scan a QR code to see the menu in English

Campobaja This is a very nice restaurant where you can go as an individual couple or very large group. Atmosphere and decor is very nice. Noise/music is very loud and sometimes difficult to have a conversation. The acoustics amplify the bustle. I agree with the complaints of others regarding how loud the noise is. Well curated wine and drink list. First time I noticed a restaurant with orange wine. Obviously I had it and it was amazing, from the Alsatian region. No problem getting filtered water and it was served with ice without requesting it. Love that. Wait service was attentive professional and enjoyable. Really welcoming and very nice staff. We tried the pork belly on noodles and it was amazing. However, we asked several times to make sure that it was not spicy hot, that there would be no Pico or picante, but it came very spicy for us and the waiter said it was only medium. Yes but I request no hot spices... Most really good restaurants would have, without question , just taken the plate back and redid it without the hot spicy ingredients but here,  the waiter grabbed my spin and proceeded to pick. Out what he perceived as the hot pieces. It was hilarious. I guess this sort of thing is typical for Mexico. We also tried the oysters which were pretty good. Quite expensive for three oysters but it hit the spot. By this time we were warned there were 10 minutes before the restaurant kitchen closes. This drives me nuts. I guess in Mexico the restaurant kitchens close an hour or more prior to the restaurant. We ended up ordering the burritos. While interesting, they were not our personal favorite. They certainly didn't rise to the expectations of the a general food culture of the city. They love the hot sauces at this restaurant. I love that they had real menus here. They have a sink outside the bathrooms to wash your hands. My daughter said the bathrooms were slnot so clean, a disappointment. I didn't check out the men's room. They take credit cards and Amex. I think their menu is all over the place. I didn't really appreciate one common theme. Nevertheless, if the pork belly appetizer wasn't too hot for our tastes, it's an amazing dish. Warm sweet and savory ramen noodles with just the most perfectly cooked pork belly. It was nice to see oysters. However, it didn't seem like they really belonged there and I was a little weary of getting oysters but they were fine, I hope. Personally, I wouldn't be going for the burritos here. Your taste may be different. Study the menu before you go so you will understand how to approach your meal and drinks before getting there. Think tapas? Also, I was being generous on my star ratings if you don't completely agree.

I totally get why Campobaja has a Michelin star! We made a lunch reservation (which I highly recommend—it doesn’t seem like the kind of place you can just walk into), and the entire experience lived up to the hype. The space feels trendy and full of energy, and the food? Absolutely incredible. Every bite was bright, fresh, and carefully crafted—flavorful without being fussy. You can really tell how much attention goes into each dish. The service was fine, not great, but the food more than carried the experience. This place is a must-visit in CDMX and absolutely worth it.

You won’t regret this experience! Absolutely everything we had was second! The tuna tostado was so good, went back another day in our very short trip just for those. Topped with a margarita, it was a heavenly experience. Other items we tried were the VERY spicy ceviche - we loved it but don’t do it if you can’t handle the heat. We also had the prawns, probably the best grilled I’ve ever had! I’d go back again for sure!

Great change of pace from all the amazing tacos CDMX has to offer. All the dishes we had were amazing. The octopus tentacles with chicken gizzards were our favorite, even though my wife does not eat gizzards. Staff was very attentive and gave great recommendations. I did get FP from the oysters. They were really good but I should have resisted for obvious reasons. I lost a whole day in CDMX recovering.

5. Great spot in the city- beautiful rooftop patio and fun vibe. Big menu with lots of fresh fish and seafood options (no English menu available and no English speaking staff - so try to know what you want if you don’t speak Spanish!) Do not miss the tostadas- especially the tuna! The service was super friendly, efficient, and warm. They had a high chair available and were happy to accommodate a baby- though we were the only ones there with a child.

A
Anastasia Deryazhentseva

I found it to be a very good restaurant, but it does feel a bit overhyped because of the Michelin star. We started with shrimp and chocolata clams — both were good, but nothing extraordinary. The aguachile was also very tasty, though not particularly unique. The standout was definitely the fish, which was truly exceptional. I’d recommend making a reservation.

Great palace to spend a lunch with friends or family! I would recommend fresh seafood over tacos. Oysters were amazing, tuna sashimi and hamachi very good! Service is nice and friendly! Not amazed by the wine. Good martini! I would come back for a lunch! Thank you

Got to say I don’t get it. Food was not executed that well. Ambiance was good and location is good. This place just lacks attention to detail and suffers. Feels like a place where the lead chef left and is letting it run. Frier oil was badly oxidized and made the tacos taste terrible. Most interesting thing was the fish Al pastor. Food is eh, presentation is good, ambiance is good, service is very good.

No recomendable.

Very disappointed with the experience at a such highly raved restaurant. After we were seated, the waiters didn’t seem to be too welcoming. The “best” ceviche was also the worst I’ve had the whole trip. Flavor was bland/ lacking. Most of the dishes didn’t have much flavors. The grilled shrimps were not fresh, it was mushy. The cauliflower also had absolutely no flavor at all, not even a slight bit of salt was tasted. Would not recommend for the value and food.
