Casa Melibea Ciudad De México Reviews
Casa Melibea has become one of my quiet morning rituals in Condesa. Around 8:00–8:30 a.m., I like to sit outside with a ginger tea and just watch the neighborhood wake up. From that little chair, you see everything people walking their dogs, others starting their day with a run, the flow of the park, and the peaceful rhythm of the area. It’s a perfect spot to simply be. What makes this place special is that it’s more than a café. Inside, they curate a mix of handmade products, from hats and tote bags to small plants, pottery, and unique pieces created by local designers. It feels like a small community space warm, creative, and full of personality. The atmosphere is calm, the service is friendly, and the whole concept is charming and authentic. It’s the kind of place you return to because it gives you something simple but rare: a moment to breathe and enjoy the neighborhood.
Delicious simple food. Good coffee too
The MOST lovely coffee shop in Roma. I have been going there almost every week since I moved here! Always sunny which is honestly extremely hard to find elsewhere, the staff is incredibly nice and the prices are better than in most places. Their homemade juices are also absolutely delicious and so cheap! 10/10 recommend.
This coffee shop is not just a haven for coffee lovers but a complete sensory experience! Beyond their incredible chai lattes, the space exudes an artistic and botanical charm that sets it apart. The fusion of a remarkable plant shop and vibrant art vibe creates a uniquely cozy and inspiring atmosphere.
Great place in the city. Affordable price. The taste of the ham and cheese sandwich was unique. Place to visit while in Mexico City for sure.
The best latte I have ever had... hands down!!! The coffee is so good... we now go out of our way completely just to get one :) The owner is a sweetheart. They have art collections and organic retail items... just a great concept. Do yourself a favour and give them a chance :)
Casa Melibea is in one of the most beautiful corners of Condesa – right next to Ámsterdam lane, which gives it such a great vibe. The spot is sunny and relaxed, perfect for a slow morning. That said, the food didn’t fully deliver – the coffee wasn’t great and the salmon bagel was pretty boring. Still, the location alone makes it worth a stop if you’re in the area.
Super cute cafe with indoor and street side seating. Coffee was lovely, pastry was average, but the sandwich was very delicious. Vibes and service were also great.
Being originally from Melbourne, it's really hard to find places that have their coffee game on lockdown to a Melbourne level. For DF standards, this place was solid with possibly the best flat white I could find in Mexico City, and was consistent between baristas in my experience. I had the granola bowl a couple times and the Saturday version was definitely better than the Monday version. Still delicious, but like someone already mentioned, the premium prices - I feel if you pay that much, they can easily afford to take that extra bit of care to measure out each plate so it has as much punch as the last, right down to the presentation. Prices are tourist influenced. I can only speak of the granola and flat white but if you want something closer to a Melbourne cafe experience, you pay for it and in Roma Norte, the prices are similar to what I'm used to back in oz. I'd still recommend it, it's a nice place and one of the only places on the hipódromo that gets decent morning sunlight. They could up the consistency on the food a little, but good service and one of the better options for a cafe breakfast/brunch in the area.
Bad cappuccino (it was a latte= 3/4 milk + a shot of espresso) that I didn’t drink but had to pay for it (I didn’t at the end because it was not ok to pay for it and also because the boss left) but you can see below the professionalism of the boss, I mean wasnt it too hard to just give me another real cappuccino (a shot of espresso + a FOAMY milk 1/3 milk 2/3 foam) which cost you less than 30pesos and have a semi happy client (because their food is still bad and the boss not professional) but at least not a bad review. Bad sandwich, too much bread and it’s dry, hair in the sandwich, bad French toast. Ridiculous, I spend time writing reviews, when I go out and pay for food and drinks is not for having bad one.
The place is cute and I’ve visited multiple times. Today though I ordered juice and a coffee for to go, left my drinks on the table outside to go wash my hands and when I came back they had thrown my drinks away and said it was because it was to go and they didn’t offer to remake my drinks so $170 pesos down the drain. Will not be back again.
I ordered a latte, cold, and received my drink hot. When I asked them to change it, they poured the drink into a cup of very little ice…. Now I think we all, no matter the country we’re from, took a science class at some point in our lives. So what happens when you pour a hot liquid into ice? It melts, not only does it melt it waters down the liquid. They then brought me an extra cup of ice without my request, I used it, and then when I went to pay they had the nerve to charge me for the ice. So not only did they make a mistake, they charged me for *their* mistake. How insulting of a customer experience for a simple coffee.
