Chez Julien Ciudad De México Reviews
Lovely, intimate French restaurant. Friendly and caring service. The fish meunière was outstanding! Nice wine selection. Will definitely return.
Very authentic French restaurant in the heart of a very Mexican city. Food was great, staff was great ...
Totally enjoyed this intimate bistro that serves up outstanding French cuisine. Great location right in the city center. Wonderful and attentive service. Had a lovely guitarist playing beautiful music while we dined. The French onion soup and escargot were outstanding. As were the Beef Bourguignon and Duck Confit. One of the best Crème Brûlée ever. Enjoyed a fantastic French wine. Highly recommend.
Menú del día for 175. Great deal. The calabasas soup was excellent and a generous portion. We had a pork and potato stew and pesto pasta with shrimp. Both excellent. Desserts were great. Very attentive service. The regular menu looks great but at a far higher price. We will definitely return.
After wanting to come here for the longest time I made a last minute reservation and my only regret is not doing it sooner! I was greates at the door and kindly welcomed by the wait staff. I was the first one there for dinner and decided to go with the filet mignon which was exquisite a word that I do not often use and reserve when truly necessary. The house wine was fabulous and a good price for being a French wine. I also had a premium wine which was also French and very tasty. They also had a live guitar player which added to the Friday night mood. Overall excellent quaint restaurant with wonderful staff. This is going on my list of Friday night favorites for dinner. Dare I say the filet mignon was better then any meat I’ve had at Sonora Grill and mind you I would go there on a weekly basis and get their filet. Filet, truffle mash potatoes and grill veggies were magnificent. New favorite place.
After yesterday's great breakfast, today we returned to Chez Julien's for his prix fix lunch or as it is called here in Mexico, comida. La comida includes 3 or 4 courses and is always economical. Chez Julien's, in keeping with Mexican tradition, offers a 3- course comida beginning at 1 pm to about 6 pm for 99 p - about 5.50 USD. And trust me, it is very special. Today we enjoyed a delicate 4-cheese soup topped with a crouton and amaranth sprouts. Next came an Argentine sausage with fingerling potatoes and roasted heirloom tomatoes served with a light sauce and accompanied by French bread and green olives. It put me in the south of France. You can even get a pichet (caraf) of house wine just like in France. Dessert was a refreshing sorbet with a chocolate truffle rolled in nuts. Linen table cloths and napkins, a full bar and first class service - How does it get any better than this? Add homemade waffles with honey and bacon, Croque Madam or Croque Monsieur for breakfast, a fine dinner menu at reasonable prices and you have an extraordinary value, a restaurant to prize right here in the heart of Centro Historico.

What a wonderful place! We listened to some beautiful music from a woman and guitarist. It felt like we were in Paris! The food was extraordinary as well. We went for the escargot and added wine, d…
This restaurant is a good find in the heart of Queretaro. Nice selection of tasty menu items with excellent welcoming service. Definitely worth the stop.
Expensive. Not worth it. Abusive whih tips. They charge what they want. Good food, but there are some many others beautiful places.
Classy little bistro in a quiet corner of QRO centro district. Nice dishes and good presentation though not over the top. Loses a star because they did not bring a glass of water; they made us order water which they brought in a small bottle and charged 25 pesos for. This is sadly common in Mexico but unacceptable to make people pay for water in a restaurant. People should not have to ask. It’s euro with each course brought our separately at a nice pace. Dishes were moderate in size but filling. Everything was delicious. Prices were higher than normal Mexican Faire, but not crazy.
We stopped in for brunch and it was well worth it. Our food came quickly and was prepared beautifully. The salad was dressed perfectly and paired well with my croque-monsieur. The space is cozy and they look to have a wonderful wine selection. If you're in the neighborhood check it out.
I rarely give a poor rating however in this case it is warranted. The staff was pushy early in the service and was more preoccupied with their tablets than the customer’s needs. I am French born and …

Food is good! Great pianist! The water did nothing wrong, brought everything right and quick, however he looked like He hated his life. Never smiled once, I even tried to be extra cheerful to him to lighten the mood. Again he did nothing wrong he just didn’t fit the happy vibe of the restaurant. Maybe he had a bad day. Overall, food is ok if you’re craving French food!
The restaurant used to be a French - Moroccan one, and it changed to serve some French dishes and Mexican ones too. I liked it more the way it was, used to have an incredible atmosphere. It's ok now, but not like before. The waiters are very good. Cheap and good.
We selected this restaurant close to our hotel and to vary our menu and expected more based on the reviews on TripAdvisor and Google. At least our experience was mediocre at best. The onion soup was …
I was attracted because the pictures of the previous advice. Therefore, after eating, prices for the food are expensive if you take in mind the quality of the food. The drinks are over rated and expensive. The owner tried to excise himself with a desert but that doesn’t change the bad moth taste. Please consider other restaurants before coming to this one.
So expensive. They served me salmon that was half frozen. I asked for the wine on the board that was 120mx and they served us two glasses and then when we got the bill each glass was 400mx (that’s crazy) and yes the service was slow and we felt manipulated. It was kinda crazy and the food was bleh.
