El Polanquito Ciudad De México Reviews
This place pleasantly surprised me. The people who served us were very friendly. They served us a vegetable soup that tasted very good, very rich. Well served. The next course came and also tasted good. And the price was excellent. It's a great place to eat in that area.
Good option...
I don't know why they don't spell this place out correctly. It's a diner, and it's very good. It's crowded, and sometimes you have to wait in line to get in or share a table. The food is very good and reasonably priced. But put it on the map... Is that photo of ice cream?
El Polanquito in the heart of Polanco is a culinary gem that delivers an unforgettable dining experience. From the moment you walk in, the welcoming atmosphere and attentive service set the tone for what becomes a truly delightful meal. The staff is warm, professional, and genuinely committed to making your visit special—whether you're a local or visiting from out of town. The menu celebrates the richness of Mexican cuisine with a modern touch. Every dish is thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. I loved everything I tried, but if there’s one dish you absolutely can’t miss, it’s the sopes de chorizo. Perfectly cooked with a rich, savory flavor and just the right touch of spice, these sopes are the kind of dish you’ll remember long after the meal is over. The textures—crispy base, tender chorizo, and creamy toppings—come together in perfect harmony. Beyond the sopes, the food in general is outstanding, with each plate showcasing quality ingredients and careful attention to detail. From appetizers to desserts, everything was well-balanced and deeply satisfying. The ambiance is equally inviting—casual yet elegant, ideal for a lunch with friends or a relaxed evening out. Whether you're seated indoors or on the patio, it’s easy to settle in and enjoy. In a city full of incredible food, El Polanquito stands out. It’s a place where tradition meets excellence, and where every visit feels like a special occasion. Highly recommended.
Comes riquisimo
My score: 4.9/5. Fantastic restaurant in a beautiful area of Polanco. Sat outside by the street in a wonderful covered patio area, with gorgeous scenery and so much interesting things going on around. The service was great, and the food was incredibly delicious. Lots of wonderful Mexican dishes and yummy options from other cuisines too including good sashimi. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone going through the Polanco area, and will definitely be back next time I’m in town, and certainly want to spend more time in this area of the city. Overall it was a wonderful experience.
It is a small place to have a very good classic homemade food. Definitely what native Mexicans have on a daily basis. It is the best value meal you can get in Polanco neighborhood. Fresh, well cooked food, clean and with excellent service. It is not a fancy place but one of the best options to have a meal with just a few bucks.
Lunch plates served with soup appetizer and a pasta (or rice) second course as well a agua del dia. Super well priced excellent food. We tried the pambazo sandwich stuffed with potatoes and chorizo (this was great) as well as chicken with mole. Service is friendly and the location very central to the neighborhood. Must try in the area. Can get crowded and have a wait.
Great service and steaks at Porter.
Delicious breakfast at a simple, inexpensive little gem in Polanco. We had breakfast here recently. I had huevos motuleños. The proprietor explained: a tortilla, beans on top, then a slab of ham, then a couple eggs, then a slice of cheese, then a mild red sauce over everything and some sliced plátanos - which tasted like they were fried in bacon grease. Very, very tasty. My wife had huevos divorciados (should I be concerned?), which she loved. Instant coffee served. A simple, very nice little place set among dozens of much fancier - and also very nice - places.
Super....
Nice market to buy local stuff
Very friendly. Home made food.
Ok
Decent price considering the neighborhood, and the food is ok
Nice service
I didn't take a picture because it disgusted me even more, and I didn't think to, but I found a disgusting hair in my food with the first bite. I understand that these kinds of accidents happen, but the staff's rudeness, and on top of that, only deducting 100 pesos from the bill, felt like a terrible lack of service. I arrived hungry and left hungry and angry. Very bad, I absolutely do not recommend this place, due to the lack of hygiene and the poor service. On top of everything, they take forever to bring the food, and the waiters act like they're doing you a favor.
