La Hallaca Ciudad De México Reviews
We celebrated a successful trip to the Vzla embassy [Polanco] with a post-visit to La Hallaca. We arrived about 1.30pm. We we were kindly greeted and seated right away. The place is small, maybe 5-7 small tables upfront and a few in the back. While it was lightly full at this point within a hour it was about at 80% capacity. We ordered hallacas, ensalada de gallina and negro asado y pan de jámon. All was very well prepared particularly the hallacas. Yum. My Venezuelan dining companion commented if anything was to be criticized it would be the Negro Asado. In all, a real good meal. It is a bit on the pricey side. In all for two meals and a few beers, almost $1000 pesos. But hallacas are expensive anywhere. Plenty of servers and all were attentive and kind. Definitely recommended. Enjoy! UPDATE 2ND VISIT. Had arepas. They were awesome too. Cazón y Reina Pepiada con Queso de Mano.
Great Venezuelan Food.
Great place and food
Excellent arepas! I can't believe we waited nearly three years to try this place.
If you like Venezuelan food, this is the real thing. In fact, most of the customers are from Venezuela. It's not fancy but the staff makes you feel Iike family right away. On weekends they bring in fresh seafood for special dishes. My only disappointment is that they close at 6pm. So breakfast and lunch are their specialties.
