Amazing nigiri and sashimi! Especially toro - wow, the quality is as good as what I eat in Japan! Great hospitality and ambience with a lot of greens in the balcony. Highly recommend if you want good quality sushi in a modern setting.

Les hubiera puesto 5 estrellas solo por un detalle: el control de tiempo en sus reservas en mesas de Tepanyaki. Tuvimos que esperar casi 45min más de la hora de nuestra reservación. No obstante, ¡¡¡valió la pena la espera!!!. Fuimos a Umai Roma influenciados por las redes sociales ya que anunciaban con bombo y platillo sus Mesas de Tepanyaki. El chef Israel es excelente con los cuchillos y la sazón de las verduras y la proteína, los ajos fritos y los chiles toreados le quedaron estupendos. Además la atención de los meseros y el servicio es excelente.

Ideal para una cita o una salida con amigos, gracias a su atmósfera tranquila al ser un jardín escondido. La comida es buena pero las porciones pequeñas; imperdible la coctelería y el pastel de matcha.

Excelente lugar para comer, lo vimos en una reseña de Marco Beteta como uno de los mejores lugares de comida japonesa, nos encantó el lugar, la comida es exquisita, realmente está muy bien. El servicio es excelente y el ambiente es súper agradable. Los edadames asados una delicicia Nos recomendaron el Maki de pesca blanca , lo probaremos para la próxima visita. Súper recomendable.

Los rollos tienen muy buen sabor, algunos son muy diferentes al sushi normal de cadena, lo único malo es que son rollos muy pequeños y si realmente te quieres sentir satisfecho (no lleno a reventar) tienes que pedir al menos dos rollos por persona lo q eleva bastante la cuenta, pero en general es un buen lugar para ir a cenar ya q también tiene una vibe romanticona

El lugar es sumamente precioso, me encanta la decoración verde como si fuera un jardín, muy romántica la atmósfera, buen lugar para pedir matrimonio o para celebrar algún aniversario. En cuanto a la comida, nada muy especial, porciones pequeñas y caras para lo que realmente se ofrece.

Came here to celebrate my wife's birthday and we had a really great time. - atmosphere: the garden makes it all. Really beautiful and fresh. Environmental music is also chill. - Service: this is one of the very few restaurants where I didn't have to do anything to get the birthday dessert at the end of our dinner. I just entered the request since the reservation and they had everything under control. - Food: honestly, we were expecting a more extended (or fancy I should say) menu... But the basic stuff tasted extremely good! Definitely I recommend visiting this restaurant.

The food is delicious and the ambiance is lovely in a hidden garden. The service is very slow and not very warm Or efficient. I had to flag down the waiter every time. Never came back to take a second drink over. They need. Better training.

A great place to get Japanese food. We went for a late lunch. The menu has a nice variety but it's not very expansive which means everything is made very well. I'd definitely go again. Make reservations if you want to go.

The entrance and decor were amazing. You truly felt like you were walking into a forest out of an anime. The patio feels like a forest even though it’s in the middle of the city. The service was fine but nothing special. I found the food lacking. I expected better fish quality for the price. I would recommend the yellowtail sashimi with ponzu sauce. They also had some caramelized shrimp that were divine. They’re ribeye gyoza was really well balanced. I liked this place but was expecting better quality for the location and prices.

Beautiful restaurant. It’s very unassuming from the entrance, but it’s a beautiful space! Fun fact: they are owned by the same group that also runs Miru in Polanco. Literally, menu is exactly the same. I was at Miru 2 days prior and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the menu. Kinda disappointing to be completely honest that these two restaurants have different names but exactly the same menu. The service was decent. The food was good but definitely not the top sushi restaurants in CDMX. The drink was really good. This spot is way more popular than Miru. If you want a good ambience and unique restaurant layout, go to this place but the sushi is so so.

El lugar esta muy bonito, la atención al cliente excelente todos son muy amables, el problema es la comida, todos los platillos estaban desabridos, sin sabor, las porciones muy pequeñas. Sinceramente no vale la pena pagar por la comida.

Fuimos a el sábado, queríamos postre y tragos. Y así se lo dijimos a la Hostess cuando pedimos mesa, éramos 4 personas que veníamos de comer en el Tigre silencioso que no está a un lado y queríamos cambiar de ambiente. Ya estábamos sentados, cuando el mesero puso mala cara cuando le dijimos, se desapareció y en seguida vuelve la Hostess a decirnos que no podían darnos el servicio y que nos retiramos. El lugar tenía varias mesas vacías y no había gente esperando. Aún así nos dijeron que no nos podían atender.

We got kicked out in middle of our meal because they needed a table for a party of 6 with a reservation. If you’re ever missing the authentic experience of obnoxious drunk Americans shouting across a restaurant, smoking vape pens in a closed space despite No Smoking, and Valley Girls screaming “oh my god shut up!”, then this is the place for you. I liked the food though, and on a bright side it’s a reminder why never to return to America.

Pésima comida y exageradamente cara. Pedimos el donburi de ribeye y parecía que nos dieron lo que sobrababa de la parrilla. Grasoso y desabrido. Nos cobraron los extras sin avisar y en el menú no está especificado. No recomiendo comer aquí.

We mentioned that our son was allergic to peanuts (Bad allergy) they took note. We ate sushi and meat, while the chef was making the food on the Japanese grill, he put the shrimp of a brown sauce. We asked what it was, he said a mix with peanuts. We indicted to the server that we mentioned it amd it was important, but they thought it was sesame. Luckily he didn't eat it, but it ruined the experience and he didn't finish his plate. They offered free dessert, no trust anymore. We gived 0$ in tip on a 5000$/pesos bill, I'm usually very generous, but sorry not this time.

I came to Umai in CDMX and ordered the rib eye bowl — which turned out to be nothing more than plain white rice with what looked like ground beef on top. For a restaurant that positions itself as an upscale Japanese spot, it was incredibly disappointing. The food was completely flavorless and the presentation was poor — just a small bowl of rice and meat with no care or creativity. When I told the waiter, the only “solution” offered was to bring me spicy mayonnaise to mix everything together, which made it even worse. CDMX is full of amazing restaurants with authentic flavor and thoughtful presentation — this is not one of them. Definitely not worth the price or the reputation it tries to project.
