Located right on Plaza Mayor in Ciudad Real - this area gets a lot of patrons. Service is slow, and a factor of dealing with so many customers, the servers forget condiments, or other requests. On the plus side - the prices are very reasonable

They have one girl working alone, and she has to handle all the customer service on the terrace and inside the restaurant by herself. With it being winter and the Christmas market open, it doesn't seem reasonable from a business perspective, nor is it ethical. The girl is a sweetheart, calming people down and working like a machine.

On the terrace, I was planning on eating tapas. I ordered a drink with the corresponding tapa for the first bite, and the waiter, who was rude and unprofessional, demanded payment immediately. I told him I intended to continue ordering tapas. What's that like? You choose a tapa, bring the card reader, hand your card, I order another one... At your service, waiter. I paid and left. Bye.

Disaster. You sit down and it takes forever. The waiter is clueless. He asks for your order three times. They make a mistake with the payment. Then another waiter comes apologizing because the first one was new. We give him a second chance. We wait 15 minutes before they'll even take our order for a second round. We get fed up and go to the bar next door. While the people next door have already been served, those who sat in our place are still waiting. Poor things...

It's essential to order the "egg with béchamel" as a tapa (when they have it, of course). My experience today was terrible: I'm dropping from 4 to 2 stars because on the last three occasions (separated by time) we haven't been able to get the egg with béchamel tapa (which is our favorite). The waiter who served us on the terrace also contributed to the drop. We were shocked by his complete lack of interest, his carelessness, his rudeness while wiping the table with a cloth (a colleague had to go over it before serving our tapas), his unwillingness to serve us or take our payment, and his unnecessary rush to take our drinks and tapas order just as he informed us that they didn't have the egg with béchamel, among other tapas. Thankfully, one of the waitresses serving the tables was noticeably more professional and knew how to serve customers. But they couldn't shake off the bad feeling we left with. A real shame, honestly. It'll take us a while to get over this bad experience before we can go back.

Hemos venido a tomar algo y el camarero que toma nota era bastante borde. Tardaban mucho y encima se les ha olvidado algo ( que puede ser normal con la gente que hay) pero se la pides porque ya las has pagado y te contestan borde. En todas las mesas estaba siendo borde

El suplemento de 1€ en la tapa del huevo con bechamel es un gran error y va a conseguir que la gente no vuelva por aquí.

Sorprendido por el cambio que ha dado. Suplemento de 1 euro por la tapa (¿donde se ha visto eso?), tardanza en servir, y un servicio lamentable. Con los sitios que hay en Ciudad Real, no es nada recomendable. Viven de la fama.

Como si no fuera suficiente timo cobrarte 3,90 euros por un refresco, te suman 1 euro más de suplemento por la tapa de huevo. Y encima el servicio lento y la camarera desagradable. Sí Ciudad Real estuviera lleno de turistas, se puede entender lo de estafar al cliente que ya vendrá otro... Pero aquí somos siempre los mismos y os quedaréis sin nadie a quien engañar. Por lo menos a mí ya no.

Mal servicio, consumiciones caras. Tardan una barbaridad en servir y te traen las cosas a trompicones, se han cargado un sitio mítico de tapas de la ciudad con tapas ridículas si te salen del mítico huevo con bechamel

2 refrescos con la tapa de huevo con bechamel 9.40 €. Yo creo que ya esta bien de reirse de la gente, cada vez que venía a Ciudad Real pasaba por aqui, ahora con estos precios dudo mucho que repita

This bar has become famous for its fried egg, but it's not all that great. Especially when they charge €3.60 for a draft beer (a complete rip-off), and on top of that, while other bars in the area charge €3 plus a tapa, they charge an extra €2 just for ordering an egg 😡. I think it's good to know so I never come back. Goodbye forever.

Sadly, they've gotten too big for their britches... Two soft drinks and a small beer cost 15 euros. And the egg and béchamel tapa costs an extra €1 as a supplement—unbelievable! The waitresses weren't very cheerful. I won't be back. Hopefully, other people will do the same and they'll start lowering their prices and being friendlier.

The worst experience I've ever had in a bar. And it had to be after returning to Ciudad Real and with friends from out of town. No matter how hard I try to understand it, I just can't get it. I had a drink and 25 minutes later they brought us the tapa after complaining to the rudest and most impertinent waiter I've ever encountered in my long life. What an embarrassment they made me have to wait in front of my friends. I hope tomorrow, if they have any dignity, they close.

I'd been there before and it was just okay, but today they really outdid themselves. First, they gave me a beer with a hair in it, I sent it back, and they gave me another one with something strange at the bottom. I won't be back. The tapas at El Portón are much better and have a much wider variety. I won't be returning.

We went for lunch today and it was a disaster. The service was terrible; they seemed unwilling to help us, told us they didn't have eggs with béchamel sauce, and then served them to other tables. The portion of potato salad was tiny.

We had just arrived at the restaurant from a long trip and asked if we could be served. A waitress said we could. We were ready to order when some other very rude waiter told us to leave because they weren’t serving anymore. This is very unfortunate because we clearly saw other people (Spanish people) being served afterwards. He ended up claiming in a very rude and unfriendly attitude that he was the owner of the restaurant so it was his rules. I will never go there again and I definitely don’t recommend their services.

Service was less than stellar or sufficient. Ordered drinks and no glasses offered? Had asked what is the guitar vegetal sandwich and what veggies it had?I was: told asparagus, pepper, onion but none were there, it was a ensalada ruso sandwich. Less than stellar as I didn't want ensalada ruso. Asked to have lettuce and tomato added to it twice and was told this is the way the tapa is so cannot give me that. Patatas bravas came with salsa de tomate not brava salsa? Overall. Not up to the photos on the menu or website and service needs help.
