Curry Bowl Clayton Reviews
We love Curry Bowl! The food is always amazing and the service is great. We always feel so welcome here and it is evident that they take great pride in every aspect of their restaurant. I highly recommend Curry Bowl.
Chana Masala is delicious. Plenty of vegetarian options.
Seriously the best Indian food I've had in the east bay! This place is a gem. Perfect amount of spices, excellent quality meat and veggies, perfectly packaged etc. Everything is is always perfect every time. I am obsessed with their food!
I am stuck on their butter chicken, basmati rice and garlic Naan! Even typing this out makes me want them for lunch! The guys that work there are super nice and attentive. You can sit inside or outside. I've had butter chicken once before and this place tipped my first try elsewhere.
Delicious food, great atmosphere, and a nice time with my family. Shout out to the server who, after I believed my mom when she said something didn't have tomato and started eating it, warned me that it actually did. Saved me a night of pain.
Had a party catered. Food was fresh and awesome. Tasted delicious and had a touch of homemade cuisine. Our guests loved all the dishes and the home delivery service was excellent. They paid attention to the spice level and saltiness as requested. Would do our next catering from curry bowl again.
Amazing food, quick & friendly service. Great prices. What a pleasant surprise! Had to grab some food quickly before a concert and stumbled into this restaurant (they don’t actually sell “bowls” as expected, just a large selection of Indian dishes but we were not disappointed!)
We made a reservation for 815pm today.. As soon as we walked in, we had a very warm welcome from the girl at the register. We took a while too order and she was very patient. All the staff was very polite and catered to all our needs. Always checking in on us to make sure we were doing OK. The place was very clean, quiet, and the food was amazing. We even took some home after. This restaurant was definitely worth stopping by, this was our first time here and will for sure be coming back again. The service was very fast and all the dishes came out perfect. Thank you to all the staff making us feel at home and cooking us delicious food. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an authentic, home made Indian food.
One of the best and most authentic North Indian food in east bay. They will adjust the spice level to your liking, and they will live up to it. food always tastes fresh and delicious.
Delicious authentic Indian food! Great service and super friendly staff! I’m coming back again for sure next time I’m in the area! :)
Sooo delicious! Loved the chai and all the food. The staff is super friendly. I will definitely come back.
Had lunch there today with grandson. Food was amazing. Very friendly staff. Easy location to get to and easy parking.
Great service, wonderful food. I always look forward to being in Clayton to enjoy their food. Thank you.
Ordered takeout for lunch. The owner and cooks were very friendly and the food was excellent.
These guys are awesome and friendly. Food is the best around here and they hook you up!! Greg 😎
Yummy little place. Even the plain rice was great! Definitely coming back.
Food was top class. Best fish curry I ever had.
Tasty, clean and fast. If you’re looking for some great Indian taste this is it.
Staff helpful in explaining menu. Large portions. Definitely going back.
Delicious food. Fast service. Reasonably priced.
Really good service and food especially this one person 😮💨
Lived near this place for years. Didn't try it till tonight. Amazingly good food. I got an order of samosas and the butter chicken. Very filling and very tasty. Chicken was really good! Just the slightest spiciness. Thank you
Wanted a hot quick meal and didnt want the usual, burger pizza, Chinese. Curry bowl hit it on all levels. Rich hot curry mild for m . The flavor perfect. The naan still hot even after my 20 min drive home. I will be back to try something different next time.
Best Ever Biryani In Concord And other Dish..
The food is delicious and well priced for the portions provided. Very friendly staff. Will order again.
Very satisfied! The lamb kabobs were so tasty and the chicken curry was even better! Service was great and they offer complimentary tea. We will be back!
I got the butter chicken with jasmine rice that reminded me just how truly incredible it is to be alive Just got more xmas eve, literally THE BEST
Delicious! Absolutely my favorite place to get Indian food in Clayton. I would recommend eating in instead of ordering to go - you get better portions when you eat in. And the family who owns it is very polite and helpful!
Food is delicious. Their chicken tikka massala is outstanding, simply wonderful; particular spices used, rich, creamy.
Delicious Indian food. If you live in Clayton, you don't have to venture too far for excellent food. Service is good and prices reasonable... give them a try!
Plenty of parking. Friendly staff. Vegetarian options. Outdoor seating. Indoor dinning. Small portions “A La Carte”. Closed Mondays. Ordered some chicken tiki masala with some garlic naan. It was good. Total was $20. A bit overpriced for the East Bay. There are more reasonable spots that serve curry with rice or naan in Berkeley (Thai Basil or Punjabi dhaba on Durant St.) and SF for less. However, not all curries are served the same 🍛✨🥘 Overall, ideal for lunch and take out~
Exceptional butter chicken, near my favorite, but its a little expensive, although the staff is friendly, and it all tastes so good! I found it very similar to Anarkali, which is my favorite - this place is excellent too! I plan on going back regularly, when I can afford the extra few bucks.
Under brand new ownership. Authentic North Indian food cooked by a gentleman in a turban. We ordered Tikka masala and Palak paneer to go. The food was delicious. Mild was plenty spicy for my wife. I wish I could have tried the hot version, however the nice green chili sauce on the side perked the paneer up for me. The service was great and the price reasonable. I'll be back.
Good food , good service however they don’t have any weekday lunch menu and overpriced
Food was great except the burnt garlic naan.I ordered thru uber eats.
A bit pricey for presentation and taste. Small inside. We were seated, given menus and water and then told by the waiter/cashier we were suppose to order at the front BEFORE being seated. What?? Another waiter comes up to us after we already ordered and asked if we were ready to order at our table?? Clearly one of them didn't know the protocol for the way the resteraunts are ran. NO Restrooms, which seems like a violation code since they have seats for people to dine in. 🤔😬 After our meal the waiter asks us about the food and if we like Rice Pudding, he offers to bring us some and never followed thru . We literally saw him walk and and never came back. Bad service is why they deserve a bad review.
I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala. The chicken was not fresh. It had a weird taste. It tasted like when you buy chicken tikka and not eat it for 4 days, that chicken tikka will not have a good taste. I am never gonna buy any meat dish from them. This restaurant is not busy. I was the only customer. Looks like they dont cook every day and not throw away the leftover expired food. They dont even have a counter. Instead they have this cheap plastic table in front of the counter where they place two menu cards and POS machines
Don't bother with place for the most part. Ordered palek paneer and chicken Tikka Masala. Any type of this Regional food should have those down to a perfection. Well that wasnt the case. The Masala chicken was super hard texture like it was from the day before. And the kicker is there was a hair in it that my wife found. So I got to hear about that. The paneer was ok but it had weird color and taste was somewhat off.Small portions, large prices and hair in food equals me not going back. Sorry. Naan and Curry is still the best
THE WORST. They somehow managed to take the best thing out of Indian food- THE FLAVOR! If you want authentic flavors this is not it. Ordered 3 different items and they were all so bland we decided not to eat any of it. The curry taste like cream and the meat was so tough. Was hoping by the higher prices it would be better than our usual spot but ended up with the opposite and a hangry husband. Save your money and don’t go.
Uhm, I had the vegetarian lunch option. It was all mush. It tasted like it was two days old and reheated. Also the guy who took my order was not very friendly. I waited outside for my order and realized they just left my order on the counter for me to come pick it up even though I was going to dine in. I’m hoping this was just a bad batch but who knows. I’ve had waaaaay better Indian along with extremely friendly service. Also judging from the comments, all my Indian peeps agree with me on the quality! 🤣
Stale sweets served, worst experience. Don’t buy any dairy products from them.
Poor food quality , Selling expired dairy product deserts to customers.
never eaten here but they have health code violations per the health code safety site.
I CALLED THEM TO ASK SOME Somthing ABOUT THIER MENU TODAY AT 1 pm and one guy answered no English what so ever how can you put some one to answer phone calls with 0 English no point he couldn’t understand nothing just kept repeating what I was saying so annoying
TOTAL RIP-OFF -- BUYER BEWARE! If you order lamb in any sauces, they do not server you lamb if they think you won't know the difference. They will serve cheaper meat -- NOT LAMB! False advertising/bait and switch tactics here - shady and illegal! I made the mistake of ordering take-out on my first (and last) visit. Called them about the 'fake lamb' and they said they "made a mistake." The only "mistake" they made was suspecting that I had no idea of the real texture and flavor of lamb. Also ordered Chicken Tikka Masala. While the chicken was at least real, it was VERY DRY and the Tikka Masala sauce just tasted like cream of tomato soup (probably was -- that is on their menu). As cream of tomato soup, it was good; but as Tikka Masala sauce, it was boring -- I had to add my own Punjabi spice packet when I got my food home. OVER-PRICED -- small portions for prices charged considering it is a' la carte. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
Staff was friendly but really disappointed not one of them wore a mask while preparing food or serving the counter while a mandate is in effect due to the surge of the Delta Variant. That behavior always feels very careless towards their customers.
This place have the worst Indian food I had ever. Plus those people were racist to my wife. The meat was of worse quality and out of the 5 things we ordered only samosa was edible. I would neither go nor recommend anyone to go there.
