Burger Bar Cleburne Reviews
A hidden and historic gem. One of the best burgers in Johnson County. I recommend the "Bailey" burger. Carryout only but they have a few benches outside for customers.
Years I have never stopped by here on my travels through Cleburne. Won’t happen again. Sweet lady cooking on a little grill and fryer baskets. The best Fries and Burger I have had in a long time. Don’t pass this unique place up.
This place is so good. Old school style hamburgers. Staff was super friendly and helpful. We love this place and will keep going back
It was the absolute best burger I've had in a long time. Perfection is located inside this Harry Potter sized building that's tinny on the outside, but inside is where the magic happens. Bailey Burger, im coming back for you.
My husband and I stayed in an adorable air bnb in Cleburne and the host left us a $25 gift card for Burger Bar. First the burgers are delicious and the patties are huge I got the Jalapeño burger and the flavor was amazing! We got the onion rings which were also delicious. The ladies that run and own the burger spot were super friendly and down to earth. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area. If you are looking for a great homeade burger check Burger bar out!
By far the best Burger in CleburneTexas! Maybe in the Dallas Fort Worth area... Hand cut tomatoes potatoes onions jalapenos avocado!! You name it.. Hand cut right In front of you... And not to mention the crew they have working there... Some good old Southern girls with smiles on their faces! Grab you a mouth watering Burger and eat it outside or take it to go... I've been coming here for years and it's never let me down.. They are only open from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday.. But well worth it!
The Burger was really good, but expensive. Cost $38 for two burgers and fries. The payment screen starts off with a 20% tip and goes to a 30% tip for two burgers which I thought was a little crazy when you're already paying $35 (I gave a $3 tip) for two burgers and fries. This is not a sit down and be waited on establishment. The employees were talking about personal stuff when I walked in and had no problem continuing to talk about personal stuff while I stood there and waited to be acknowledged. Now, having said that, they did do a great job on the food. It was just a little off putting when you do that and then ask me for a base 20% tip for just doing what you've already been handsomly paid for. Overall, it's a burger shack with a couple outdoor tables you can sit at that does offer a good burger, but it's going to cost you quite a bit more than other places. I'm not saying I wouldn't go back, but I wouldn't frequent the establishment.
It was one of those "Time Traveling" experiences. They opened in 1949 according to their sign and it felt as though nothing has changed since. Some say,"when you have a good thing, why change it," and I think the Burger Bar definitely has that mindset. It set among the quaint downtown of Cleburne, Tx. The burgers were cooked to my perfectly medium but if you have a specific way you like it, I am confident they could make it to your liking. We did not try anything else so I have no reviews for other food. If you are into Time Traveling then take a leap back into time by visiting Burger Bar in Cleburne, Tx.
I was excited to try this place, but it didn't really live up to the hype. The jalapeño burger was pretty good but the fries were soggy and kind of cold by the time we got them. The onion rings are a better choice by far. Service took about 40 minutes, so I'm wondering if the fries just weren't fresh. It was about $50 for 3 burgers, 2 fries, onion rings, and tip. I'm not sure if it was just an off day but I'm not sure if I'll be back soon.
You have one job budget and fries. But the fries are cardboard and the people are not friendly. In that close of an atmosphere you better be a happy camper . Burger 5 out of 10 fries -10
Although the burger and fries are tasty, problems exist. Burger bun is not sufficient to sustain burger and falls apart while wolfing it down. Fries were way too greasy but not in an old oil way but in a too many dropped at a time kinda way. Lastly, the price was astronomical. Buyer beware...
I was disappointed when I saw the frozen patty go to the griddle. It tasted like a frozen burger also that needed more seasoning. I was not expecting a frozen patty when I went there. $14 for frozen burger patty cheeseburger, fries and a drink. I should have looked at the reviews first before going. Unfortunately because of the frozen patty I won't be returning. Good luck!
Was really excited to try this place out as I had seen videos of it online. Very busy so I knew it must be good. Unfortunately they never brought my meal out as they said they would. I watched the guy in front of me and others that came after come and go. After a 40 minute wait I decided to inquire, of course it had been done a long time, well partially done, the fries weren’t in the bag. They stated they called my name but didn’t respond, but did add that they saw me sitting there. So not going to inquire as to why I’m sitting there? Hamburger was good, but the fries were half cooked and extremely greasy, to the point I couldn’t even eat them. Too bad.
We went here for lunch because that's the only time that they're open expecting that we would get our food in a timely manner we waited over 45 minutes and then when we asked where our food was, were we were rudely answered stating that she was swamped she could have told us that 45 minutes ago when we placed our order knowing that people are coming there on their lunch break word of advice let people know how long the wait is going to be! Then we only got $20 back for our money because we were in a hurry and our order was like $30 I do not suggest this place
I first had Burger Bar in 2019 when my now husband and I first got together. It was amazing. Being back in town we decided to go again. What a mistiake. Aside from what could be seen as multiple health-code violations we spent $45 on bland nasty food. The fries were soggy and tasted like old burnt oil. The burger was flavorless, burnt, and falling apart. Not worth the price we paid. $9 for a cheeseburger wouldn't be a problem if it tasted good. The workers seemed to be over it and not care. They were snappy to other customers, especially the call in orders. They also openly talked badly about other customers they encountered. Changes definitely need to be made.
Boo, Burger Bar! I've loved this place for close to 30 years. I know it has changed hands during that time and everything "service related" has changed in the last 5 years, but really? Tried to call in an order 30 minutes before closing time. After multiple attempts that went to voicemail, they finally answered with "hello". I was told they had stopped taking orders for the day. They "still had twelve more to make before they close at 3:00." This is no way to run a business, off of the beaten path, in a small town. Meals for 2 are close to $40. On the low side, you are probably losing another $400 for each day you exercise this practice.
