I ordered an XL pack which is supposed to feed between 6-8 people. I will say at first looking at the amounts I wasn't sure it if would, but it definitely fed my family of 6 with some leftovers. The sliced brisket is super smokey in flavor & tender. I dipped it in their Spicy BBQ sauce and let me tell you... Perfect combination of smokiness. The BBQ sauce has this wonderful vinegar tanginess with a nice kick of heat. Polish sausage has an immense amount of pepper within the sausage and has such a great flavor. Their pulled pork is tender and overall cooked beautifully. We also got their BBQ beans which I was expecting them to be more savory but I was surprised when I took a bite and it was slightly sweet. My kids loved their Mac and cheese which is very similar to KFC's. I'm partial to fried okra and it HIT THE SPOT. When picking up the order they were definitely efficient in moving the line along to help customers fairly quick. We both (restaurant and myself) forgot about the toast that was supposed to come with my meal but let's be honest... I didn't miss it. The brisket is definitely the star of the show. Everything was absolutely delicious in my opinion (& my familys') and the staff was friendly and the rustic vibes were great. Be sure to check out their lighting fixtures in their pool tables.

This is my 4th return to Dickeys BBQ in Clovis and some how it seems the meat is cooked differently. It’s Hot. Not like warm or microwaved heating it feels and taste like they have been cooking all day! Off the bbq grill! My first visit they forgot the toast. Just seen the guy (Kita) who prepared my food and told him about that incident. With a smile and Without any hesitation or a blink he said he would make it right this time! He was very courteous and his customer service skills reflected his willingness to make my return visit pleasant and filling! That is why Every time I am in Clovis I stop at Dickeys! Thank you and looking forward to my next return

EAT THERE! GO GO GO GO! Absolutely great! It was busy when I went with my family, and i could tell the staff was overwhelmed, but from the butcher to the cashier, I got 5 star service! I went to investigate, coming from Texas and moving to NM, I was excited to see Dickey’s hit Clovis! Loved the attitude of Nikki, she walked past me with a smile, Maria was super friendly and quick at the register! Not to mention Mak (I think that’s what her name tag said) and Jonathan killed order taking. Highly recommend! My 3 meat plate was flavorful, and the sweet bbq sauce is delicious! My Mac n cheese was impeccable! I love the restaurant and the crew! They truly serve legit Texas BBQ. They better keep that crew forever no exceptions.

I would definitely recommend! First time eating here and have not heard great things but I would say try it for yourself before believing what people say. We had a platter with sausage, chopped brisket, ribs, Mac n cheese, and okra. Also a combo with a pulled pork sandwich and fries. All the meat in the platter was cooked well. Ribs came right off the bone with tenderness. The okra was so delicious and Mac n cheese very good as well. The sandwich was loaded with pulled pork. I feel the portions served were almost too generous. Our food was ready about 5 minutes after we ordered. The two gentlemen were very polite and professional and provided just flat out comfortable customer service. Would definitely recommend trying before knocking this place.

It was my first time at a Dickey’s BBQ, took daughter, son in law and grandkids! Everyone loved their food, but service was above and beyond! Staff was shorthanded today, but Chris and Robyn were outstanding! Awesome service, kind and courteous! Thank you also to the manager as well, sorry forgot to get your name! We will 100% go again! Thank you!

When you walk in you smell the real smoke, the staff is very friendly, and the food is always delicious. It is slightly expensive but you get good barbecue so you’re paying for what you’re getting. When I went in today (22 Feb 2024) the two gentlemen working the front were very friendly and quick. I recommend this place to all my friends wanting good BBQ.

When I walked in I felt welcomed. I always look for certain things in a restaurant such has hand prints on the door. Glass was clean shows the team cares about cleanliness. That’s a 100% for me.

Dickey's never fails to be number one on my list of places I love to eat! The brisket is moist, the food was hot when delivered, and the service is always great! I'm always asked if everything is good, always told hello, and always told to have a great rest of my day! All the employees are great and seem to take pride in what they do! It looks abandoned majority of the time, but that doesn't mean it isn't good! Those employees seem to be waiting for someone to come in and try the food they prepared! It used to be horrid and service stunk. But I'm glad I came back! Definitely worth a try or a second chance!

My pulled pork was so dry that if I spit, it would have been dust. However, the flavour was good, and the overall service was good. This Dickies has only been open a couple of weeks, so I'm sure they'll get their act together eventually. I would definitely try them again, but probably give it a month or two.

A/c was out when we went to pick up our order, but we weren't in there long enough for it to bother us. Green beans have a seasoning not usually in green beans (old bay maybe?), Mac and cheese tastes like Mac and cheese from any restaurant side offered in town, fried okra was ok, chicken was dry, but the ribs, brisket and toast were delicious! The BBQ sauces were very sweet.

M
McKenna Smith

All in all it was a good dinner. The food made me sick that night, however. I'm not sure if it was the meat or the potato salad, but I was down for the count that evening. Other than that, it was good!

I got the three meat plate food was ok but not much flavor unless you like to put bbq sauce on the food that gives it a little more flavor but not much and the fries were way too salty the portions were small and the food was pricey for what you get plus I've had Dickies before in other places and this one is a disappointment compared to other Dickies ove ate at in other towns the service was good though workers are trying. overall it was very mediocre at best but willing to give them another chance in a couple months because there new and still learning

I've been here quite a few times already (about five times already since they opened) and the service and the food quality has just been mediocre at best. The service is slow and the shifts that I've seen so far are hit or miss as they sometimes take longer than necessary to prepare the meals. I had to wait about 20 minutes to order when they opened and it takes me on average about 5 minutes to order and assemble three meals for my parents and I. The food quality is really hit or miss as the meats are sometimes dry or juicy or in between. The slaw isn't the best and varies each time that I visit (it's either sour-tasting, too creamy, or too dry). On my most recent visit (April 25, 2023), the wings that I ordered were WAY too overcooked/dry and I had a hard time biting into them (keep in mind, I have braces and can't bite hard or chewy things). Lastly, the price given the food quality and service is a bit expensive. As of the time of writing this, I hope that this place gets better once the alcohol arrives as it's not doing too well. Update (10/1/2024): Even with the alcohol, the place is still not even close to doing well. Every time that I go by, the place seems very abandoned while the food is still poor given the price point. At this point, I wonder when the store might close for good…

The food is great, but everytime we order Door Dash, they are ALWAYS out of chicken. We gave the benefit of the doubt because we always ordered later so we just assumed they went through their daily portion of it. But here we are, before 4pm, ordering chicken sandwiches, and our Dasher just called to tell us they are out of chicken and we had to get something else. I don’t think we will order from here again.

The parking lot was empty, so I should have known better. Food was old and dry. Service was slow as molasses. I'm just hoping no one gets sick.

I could not find it within the large building. There is a maze of many bars/restaurants. I asked for help and followed the directions. I think I found it but it was chained closed.

This restaurant is perfectly fine, unless you want any variation of boneless chicken. Boneless wings or breasts are always “out”, despite trying several different days and times. I’m not sure who does the ordering here, but they really need to refine that process or just take those items off of the menu forever. This has been my experience at this location for the past 2 years.

Wish we had waited longer!.. Kept driving by while building was being finished and just couldn't wait any longer to try out Dickeys. Loved the Dickey's in Albuquerque, but this one misses the mark Order was not complete and meat was so salty you couldn't taste anything else. Portions were small and everything was cold. Was definitely not worth $62.00 for two people. Hope they get their act together, but for now I'll just smoke my own Que.

Two stars only because of the nice lady that took the payment, and the friendliness of the butcher taking the order. The food was not worth $32 for two people. The price is average for BBQ in my opinion but the quality and portion size of the food we got was not. Their meat was flavorless, despite someone’s previous review. I ordered a chopped brisket sandwich, which was not chopped, it was more cubed. I’ve eaten at several other Dickey’s Barbecue Pits and they’ve had actual chopped brisket so I’m not sure what happened there. My friend got the 2 meat plate with chicken breast & sliced brisket (that was actually cubed) with a side of fries, mac&cheese, and what was supposed to be Texas toast… however it was a brick of way over baked bread (yeast roll??). The french fries were supposed to be crispy according to the menu but they were soggy & cold. My friend took them back to the counter and asked for a fresh side of fries. He waited almost 10 mins for this (having to go up there two other times) all to get what we assume was the same bag of still soggy, more grease soaked and unsalted fries. He would have rather waited 3-4 minutes for fresh fries from when he first ordered than to have gotten a soggy bag of grease…. Twice. The brisket was not flavorful at all. It was over cooked and dry. The chicken had flavor, but texture and consistency was that of shoe leather. The order, pick up of food, payment, utensil, condiment and drink station is all in one small area. It is too congested right there. The place was not busy at all when we went, I’m afraid to see what it would look like if they were busy. The restaurant is of decent size so I’m not sure why that area is so small. I’m sure it has something to do with the (not yet working) slot machine and pool table area taking up 1/2 of the space in there. 😂 We were looking forward to having a decent place to eat in this town, only to be let down. Our first impression was a huge disappointment. We will not be back, we will highly recommend spending the money on gas and just driving to Lubbock or Amarillo, TX to get some better BBQ. Cow in the front is cool though. (This is before they were in Red Arrow)

My first experience with dickeys spent nearly 100$, order was completely screwed up. Second time spent 70$, told the employees that the last time I was there order was screwed up, they blamed the old crew. Chicken and Cole slaw was unavailable. I get home and I'm missing toast, the sliced brisket was probably 40% fat 20% muscle. I couldn't even finish my meal due to the feeling of regret and disappointment. I'm not the kind of person who usually lets stuff like this get to him, but when you spend good money expecting decent food, maybe it's the fatty taste left in my mouth, or the bitter taste of regret, whatever it is it just doesn't sit right. Maybe my expectations are too high for 2024.

Ordered boneless wings and they came with almost zero sauce. Ordered through door dash so was basically stuck with subpar food

The service is really hit or miss, you usually run into people that couldn’t care less and are plain mean. Was in there today to get my order picked up and the lady that was at the register practically screamed at me “Can I help you?” very off putting! The food is mediocre at best, the sides are good in my opinion but the portion sizes for the meat is sad. I ordered ribs and there was barely any meat on them and the brisket was burnt and chewy :(. One good thing I have to say is a gentleman that works there is beyond kind, I’m not sure of his name but he helped hold the door open for me when he saw that I had my hands full, he also just had a warm and cheerful aura so props to him!!

I ordered the 2meat platter Brisket and Ribs with mac-n-cheese, potato casserole, extra toast, side of green beans, side if coleslaw, extra rib, loaded baked potato extra butter extra sour cream, regular BBQ sauce. I ordered through door dash and 2 of my sides was not with my order. The Texas toast was like chewing on rubber, there was no BBQ sauce on the meat nor on the side so the meat was very dry. Green beans was different than what I expected but not bad. Mac-N-Cheese was old and dried out. The Potato casserole was horrible, no flavor. The loaded baked potato was not even half cooked but hey if you like eating crunchy raw potatoes go for this item because it had the most flavor that my taste buds wanted more except I couldn't because the potato was raw. Oh and the Coleslaw must have been made the day before cause the Cabbage was gassy and soggy. I will never eat here again!!!

H
Hailstorm86

The employees were rude and pushy and it's clear they don't want to be there and on top of it, they were completely out of chicken which normally, all the Dickey's I've ever gone to run out of brisket before they would run out of chicken. Someone isn't doing their job and staying on top of their supplies. My sandwiches weren't even made correctly, they were missing onions and pickles and the fries I chose as my side weren't fresh but instead one of the employees threw them into the fryer real quick and they were awful!! I'll go back when new employees are there. Extremely disappointing.

S
Samantha Renee

Super smoky, had to throw my clothes into the hamper and shower. Portions were not acceptable, 3 out of 5 of my party were still hungry (we all had lunch a little earlier). Pool tables weren't aligned, they advertised alcohol but no one could sell it (1 employee under age, 2nd not "approved", and they only had beer- not the whiskey they advertised). Flooring was messed up by the entryway (trip hazard for some). Cost was more than it was worth. The 2 employees were great, 3rd one that showed up interrupted our pool game, and the pulled pork was dry. Hope they can do better!

Well I waited at least 13 minutes to place my order. Fries taste just like they look. The brisket wasn't tender sauce was plane no flavor. Tea was sweet like diabetes starter kit. I guess I was foolish to think that it would be good. Sub par at best. I won't tell anyone that I spent money here.

Every 5 stat review is a lie or someone trying to be nice, I went in 30 minutes ago to try it out for the first time it wasn't a horribly crowded place and the lone wasn't to long so that was good, the menu was clear and easy to understand. Then I got to the front of the line... I ordered a 3 meat plate with Ribs, sliced brisket and pull pork. And for sides I got green beans and mac and cheese.(see attachment) Order: 1st thing I noticed was the small portion sizes, for everything....now for clarification, Dickies 3 meat plate is about the same price as Rib Cribs 4 meat plate but has about as much meat as Rib cribs 2 meat and the sides were awfully small as well...ok as long as the barbecues taste makes up for it, but we will get to that later... Service: Dickies Service is on par with your average Mcdonalds honestly, the new guy did make an honest effort for his first day, 👏🏾👍🏾props to him. The guy that took over was professional and competent(although I think he shorted me on the sliced brisket, I think he was generous with the pull pork) The cashier, she was friendly enough, thats all really...average Service The Food: So was the food Worth what I payed for it? Nooooo, in the order I tried everything... Green beans: Actually this was one of the two food items I dont have a complaint about Mac and cheese:THEY GAVE IT TO ME COLD!!! not that hot would've helped the flavorless cup, I actually lost faith here... Pull pork: The other item i had no complaint about, but thats not saying much Brisket: it was tough.. Ribs:...the ribs, mostly bone, and taste like banquet TV dinner ribs...... Verdict: It's not the worst, I will give it a second chance after some time, but as it stands now, if you want BBQ in clovis NM go to Rib crib, or pray That fatboys comes back, even better go to mama jeans on 7th st.

I guess I should know better than to order anything but BBQ in a BBQ restaurant! I had the Country fried Steak Plate, with 2 sides. The fried okra was the best part of the meal, and loaded mashed potatoes didn't have much flavor either. Now, I expected a STEAK patty, as described in the title of the meal, but got a very thin(1/2" at best!) flat piece of chicken!!! I asked why she gave me chicken instead of steak, and was told "they don't order it anymore, and chicken patties are they have"!!! I expressed my dissatisfaction with the meal, and told her I would've ordered something different had I known when I was ordering. If I wanted chicken, I would've went to a fast food chicken place. I doubt I'll be back there, or if I do, I'll order ONLY BBQ!

Ribs were super dry. Pulled pork and brisket were so so. Mac & cheese and potato casserole were over cooked. They burnt the fries and had to remake them to be soggy. Do they not serve the rolls here? We got lightly stale Texas toast. Couldn't even use my reward points because the app was messing up. Will never eat at this location again. Dickey's should stay in Texas if New Mexico is ganna ruin it.

The first time i went the service was horrible. Just went for a drink.. the lady kept giving me dirty looks. Wouldnt speak loud enough for me to hear her.bad attitude from her. Then tonight the Food was gross food was cold. The bathrooms were disgusting. Should've learned my lesson the first time but I just thought this time would be different but it was not. Won't be going back AGAIN.

The staff was friendly, they helped us right away and quickly prepared our to go order. The food was by far the worst I've ever had from a food establishment. The fries were soggy and undercooked, the brisket sandwich was hard as a rock, the kids chicken wings were burnt and literally every bit of the meal was inedible. We spent nearly $70 for a meal that had to be thrown away. I gave 4 stars for atmosphere because it was completely empty at 6:30pm (which should have been a sign to avoid this place at all cost).

V
Vanessa Cioffoletti

Service and food was terrible. We placed an order online spending $45. They called and said half of the things we ordered— they were out of. So I asked for a refund. The lady on the phone was so rude and said I needed to call the “other number” on the emailed receipt I was given. The only number was the store number. So I just told her to make it with the what they had. Our wings were soggy, the bread was soggy. The ribs were hard as a rock. And when we went in the employees were drinking Twisted Tea. All around it was just a terrible experience. This was our first time trying this place unfortunately will not be returning.

J
Joshua “Josh” Gray

Nasty and overpriced. Dickey’s portion sizes for the price is hilarious. The food at this location is disgusting. We showed up right after opening when everything should be fresh. All of our sides looked like they have been sitting out all night. The brisket was not “smoked” more like overcooked in a crock pot or prepackaged. On top of all this, staff seems overwhelmed and kind of rude. Do not waste your time with this locations the location at the Portales Fun Center is a lot better.

They advised close at 9, but if you go in at 845. The employees say the already shut everything down (also means the started closing before 845). The company should advised a stop severing time at 830 if that's when service stops (i was going to get it to go). Looks like the employees are going to run this restaurant out of business with this behavior. Sucks because we do not have many choices in this town, and I want Dickey's to stick around.

This is a new place that opened a few months ago. I and a couple of family members went for lunch today. I did not care for it. First it was hot inside that your ice in your drink was almost gone before you had half of it to drink. They had industrial fans in there but, it was just still too hot. The bathroom was even hotter then the main room. I know they were having AC issues so, it is what it is. We're in a desert. It gets hot. Did not enjoy the meat at all. None of us did. I had the brisket plate which you can choose your sides. I chose the potato casserole and the Mac cheese. The meat was dry and there was only two slices. The sides were alright but, not not great. The kids didn't their ribs and they love ribs. All in all did not care for it.

Had the 3 meat plate. The portions were small and none of the meat (chicken, pulled pork, brisket) had much flavor and was secondary not very smokey. The brisket was very dry and tough. Husband had the ribs and said they were alright but dry as well. The potato casserole was a very dry mashed potato that was hard to get down. The man taking the order was very friendly but he was overwhelmed and the only one working. There were at least 4 other workers not doing anything. Most of the tables were dirty and someone could have helped the guy taking orders. Also, I overheard the cashier tell the customers, after they paid, that I'd they had ordered their items as a "meal" they could have saved money. Overall I would not go back.

While the service was commendable, several aspects left much to be desired: 1) The ventilation was subpar, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a car filled with smoke and sealed windows. 2) Regrettably, the pulled pork contained hair. 3) The smoked chicken was excessively dry. 4) The brisket proved to be dry, tough, and lacking in flavor. 5) The boneless chicken wing was mediocre, akin to frozen food section chicken nuggets. Consider saving both time and money if you're accustomed to better-quality food. Unfortunately, this ranks as the worst BBQ experience I've encountered. Despite the courteous and helpful staff, the food fell short of expectations.

Imagine my surprise when I bit into my garlic Parmesan wings and they were raw. Not a little undercooked. Like raw-raw. We then called Dickey’s to let them know and the “manager” whose name sounded like Beatrice said “they were cooked to temperature…what do you want? I can cook you a brownie”. So our experience was that we received dangerous food and then a response letting us know that it was basically our fault for trusting them with our food. Good job Dickey’s! I now know where your name comes from.

I called, because apparently the app wasn't working. I tried for like an hour to put my order through. So i drove up to the store because i was told they could do an over the phone order, and the app wasn’t working. I get to the store, asked for the smoke turkey westerner. It was 8:44 at this time and if they had been up front with me and said um we already broke everything down for the night would you mind…i would have said no problem, however i had to choose a different meat, my ciabatta bread wasn’t even toasted, there wasn’t any tea, i dont drink carbonated beverages, but i was charged for one, and when i turned around to wait for them to assemble the order Paul microwaved the sandwich to warm up the bread, meat and melt the cheese. If i wanted a microwaved sandwich i could have stop by a gas station. I will be calling and asking for a refund when the store is opened cause no phone is not being answered. Shaking my head. You ppl complain because you are not paid enough money but your actions and thought process is only accountable for 7.25 per hour .. GET WITH THE PROGRAM. If you want a decent wage act like it and definitely work for it! 🙌NEVER AGAIN DiCKiES!

Don't waste your time and money. The portion sizes are super small and the cost is extremely high and they get your order wrong. The food shows up less than even warm. $40 for two plates that are the size of maybe one put together, absolute waste. The meat is super dry and the ribs are tiny too.

I ordered the 2 meat plate and got 2 ribs and a few pieces of brisket. The brisket was dry as heck. And they didn't send my bbq sauce. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE.

Order online to go. Food was cold, picked up at the time it was supposed to be ready. Everything was over cooked dried out and flavorless. Will definitely be the last time at this dickeys for sure.

Service was ok but the staff did not seem as though they were fully trained for the job they were doing... We felt very bad for them. None of our food came out correctly and we had to wait quite a while for portions of the meal. At least we have several big yellow cups to take home to remember the experience...

How is this place even still open? If you want bland cold food, this is the place to come to. And they always have an excuse. Never taking accountability and not following through to make anything right Do not recommend this place Tried it three times and every time is a failure. Look at the reviews, the same story over and over.

---I absolutely loathe/hate/despise dried out brisket. If you have to use some sort of sauce to 'moisten' or flavor your brisket - you've done it WRONG! ---When Dickey's first opened here in Clovis, I was reluctant to try yet another shoe-leather attempt at smoking-a-brisket establishment here in Clovis and it took awhile before I tried it - and was very pleasantly surprised - they did it right! Greasy, juicy brisket that stayed moist! Made several trips purchasing 1lb containers full of deliciousness. ---When they changed locations (from Prince St to Red Arrow), I asked the guy prepping the orders if anything but location had changed and he said no. I then asked for my usual (keep all the fat - hold the sauce) 1lb container of brisket and another 1lb of sausage. Paid the usual price (and added a tip), got it home and discovered 1lb pound of sliced shoe leather which my dogs, over the next week or so, will enjoy (they have no refined discernment or taste). ---Don't know if the brisket was old (fat all drained away), cooked improperly or just what the problem was but I am looking once again for somebody that knows how to cook/smoke a juicy brisket in Clovis, NM.

Ordered 3 meat plate takeout. Had a bad experience last time but have enjoyed other locations so I tried Clovis again. Big mistake, brisket, pulled pork and sausage all taste like they’re days old. Sides were fine but the meat is sad. Bad experience. Never again,.

Ordered a sliced brisket sandwich, received a chopped brisket sandwich. Tried to call for nearly an hour to reach a manager and phone was off the hook the entire time. The sandwich being the wrong meat cut isn't the reason for the 1 star, that would be 3 stars but since management thinks it's okay to disconnect their phone so people can't call in brings it down to 1 star
