Grasso's Cold Spring Harbor Reviews
Terrific evening of food and music on a Thursday evening. Went for Resturant week and the fact that Jen and Larry musical duo were playing that night .Had a table next to the piano and it was great. The food was just terrific. The pacing was perfect and we didn’t feel rushed. The service was attentive and with smiles . Just had an overall great time at Grasso’s. Bravo
Grasso’s on Long Island delivered a memorable night. We went on a Monday just before Christmas for my wife’s birthday, and the room felt intimate and lively, complemented by a staff that was genuinely warm, attentive, and unforced. Adding to the atmosphere was an old-school pianist calmly playing Christmas standards, setting a festive tone without ever overpowering the room. The paccheri with braised rib and truffle ricotta was the clear standout—deeply comforting, perfectly balanced, and hard to stop eating. The evening ended with a touch of classic theater: flambéed bananas with gelato prepared tableside, equal parts dessert and spectacle. A place that makes you feel welcome immediately and gives you every reason to linger.
Went well out of our way to go here - LIVE MUSIC was awesome - My biggest pet peeve in restaurants these days is when you order a dish from the server but the food expediter does not know which seat the plate is supposed to be placed. GRASSO's has this skill perfected!! Great food, great service, great music... can't beat it!!
First time here. Wow. What a great dining experience. Our server was great. Friendly personable and accommodating. The food was delicious. Started with the chicken empanada. Tasty chicken filling with a nice sauce. I had the sword fish with risotto. Delicious and tasty. Finished dinner with Tartufo. They had a piano and bass player for background music. Great dining experience. Will Definitely go back.
This was our first time here. The place is very nice. They had live music which was very nice. The food was very good. Our wait staff was very good. I would recommend this restaurant. Definitely make reservations.
It was about 2:30 PM on a Sunday and we didn’t think anyone was inside there was no parking outside… yet I was able to double park the Lamborghini right in front and I figured I wouldn’t get a ticket who was gonna come to this place anyway it looks completely empty… When I open the doors there was a piano blaring really nice music going on and at least 70 people inside?!?What?! On a Sunday afternoon! And I couldn’t believe the food. I had the artichokes; we had the figs; the lobster ravioli; all of it! Everything was so well prepared; well served; and I know what I’m talking about I was in the business for many years . The piano room was great the almophere was transforming … just wow. The food … was a struck five star experience ⭐️ ⭐️ star ⭐️ ⭐️ star star star
My wife and I enjoyed a terrific meal. The food was cooked to perfection. The service was professional and pleasant. They also offered live music - a wonderful jazz trio. What a rare treat! Truly a pleasant night out. Highly recommended.
Grasso’s at Cold Spring Harbor – A Delightful Experience We recently dined on the outdoor patio at Grasso’s in Cold Spring Harbor, and the experience was superb from start to finish. Food:** The halibut and bronzini were outstanding—perfectly prepared, fresh, and full of flavor. Each bite affirmed the restaurant’s reputation for high-quality seafood. Atmosphere:** Dining al fresco on the patio, with a view of cold spring town , offered a relaxed, scenic backdrop that enhanced the meal. The ambiance was tranquil and inviting. Cleanliness:** The restaurant and patio were impeccably clean, which added to our sense of comfort and care. If you’re in the area and craving excellent seafood with a serene outdoor setting, Grasso’s is a standout choice. We left impressed by the food, the atmosphere, and the overall care shown by the staff. Jeff
A True Gem on Long Island—Better Than Ever From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was magnetic—lively yet relaxed, with excellent live music that set the perfect tone for the evening. The service was top-notch: every server we encountered was polished, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, striking that rare balance of professionalism and warmth. The menu offers a generous range of flavorful, well-crafted dishes, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. The martinis were spot-on—perfectly chilled and balanced—and the Bordeaux special was a standout, rich and expressive. It was our first visit back in many years, and to our delight, it was every bit as exceptional as we remembered. This place has managed to hold on to its charm, quality, and heart—no small feat. A true Long Island treasure that we’ll happily return to again and again.
This place was absolutely delightful! We were helped by a man named Jerry at the bar, and he had the best energy—cracking jokes, recommending delicious menu items, and making sure we were happy the entire time. The food was phenomenal (we had the Wagyu burger, burrata raviolis, and triple berry napoleon), and the music was perfect—not too loud, just the right volume to enjoy conversation. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone of any age!
We love Grasso’s food, drinks, service (always exceptional), and atmosphere (great live music too!). They also have a lovely, pet-friendly outdoor area that Frida Panda also enjoys 🐾🐼♥️. We do have to take Frida to the park nearby to burn a little energy if we want her to be good at Grasso’s, which of course is always nice. A lot of the shops nearby are also pet-friendly, so she definitely gets lots of mental and physical stimulation before we arrive to the restaurant (getting her treats at Raw by Design also helps and it’s right across the way 😅).
A restaurant supreme. It's rare to enjoy both great food and atmosphere, yet Grasso's elegantly manages both. Their staff is supurb: personable, professional, and attentive. The food is excellent, our entire party loved their respective dishes. The lobster bisque is of particular note. All of their dishes are expertly prepared. Their desserts are also quite good. I'm biased, I love jazz, so I found their live music divine. Check their website, they have a music schedule and their online booking is great. Very convenient parking just a minute walk away too.
“The Gourmet Experience offers a truly exceptional dining adventure. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warm smiles and impeccable service. The ambiance was elegant yet cozy, with soft lighting and tasteful décor that set the perfect mood for our evening. We started with the chef’s special appetizer, Gails Grilled Pear Salad and Gian cheese Tortellini It was perfectly seasoned and melted in our mouths. For the main course, I chose FILET OF BRANZINO which was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and accompanied by a rich, flavorful sauce that complemented the dish beautifully. My partner had the BRAISED SHORT RIBS MELT which was equally impressive, delicious.
This was a fantastic dining experience. It had great ambiance, really delicious food, wonderful live music, terrific staff and an awesome bar! Our servers were Kelly and Brian. They were outstanding, attentive, and made terrific recommendations! After dinner, my buddy and I made it over to the bar. Our bartender Sean was knowledgeable and really a tremendous personality. He shared some of his favorite spirits, wine, and cocktails....we ended up spending more money....but we were very satisfied in the end.... I can't wait to come back with my family!
My friends and I decided to have a late lunch after a nice hike at Cold Spring Harbor. We chose Grasso s and we were not dissapointed. The Watermelon salad was very refreshing, the lobster roll delicious (comes undressed-no mayo) and the chicken empanadas very filling and tasty. Also the Barbecue Chicken pizza was yummy. Good service also and very pleasant decor. Will definitely come back!
The food is average overall. The pasta was overcooked, the chicken lacked flavor, and everything felt a bit mixed together without much coherence. On the positive side, the servers were very friendly, and the live piano music created a great atmosphere. In short, it’s a place with a cool vibe, but the food is just okay.
