Despite being full from a meal at Cold spring Depot, I ended up bringing home 2 sandwiches to reheat all weekend. Named for the owner’s grandfather, you can taste the legacy of good home booking here.

Amazing new place in Cold Spring. Ordered the Chicken Caprese and the BLT - both outstanding. Friendly, welcoming staff and great outdoor seating. Not to be missed.

Had the chicken Parmesan sandwich; it was terrific! The staff were really friendly. Great new restaurant addition in Cold Spring.

Loved it! Sandwiches were awesome and huge, definitely enough for lunch today and tomorrow.

we found this cute little place for lunch while on a day trip with my family to cold spring, we sat outdoors since we came with our dog (another plus, dog friendly!!). the atmosphere was very pleasant next to the train tracks. our food was absolutely delicious! the double double burger was especially good. the staff is kind and attentive. we'll def be returning on our next trip !

I can have a burger every day of the week, so I know a thing or two about burgers. The Roasted Poblano Burger was amazing highly recommend. The restaurant is rustic which was nice but I much rather sit outside right next to the Metro North passing at about 3 arms length from you at full speed, nice experience.

Great place to refuel after a beautiful day of hiking. The veggie burger was absolutely massive and depot sandwich was pretty solid. I loved having a refreshing cold cut sandwich after our hot day of hiking. That paired with a cold beer, chef kiss haha. Plenty of outdoor seating right next to the train stop. If you’re dining with fur babies just beware the train does fly by right next to the seating area which may be loud and startling for them. But for us was fun watching them go by.

After hiking the Breakneck Ridge to Mt. Beacon Fire Tower trail, we were exhausted from the 9.7 miles 7-hour adventure. The hike burned over 2000 calories, so we pigged out at Cold Spring Depot. It’s a good restaurant right after we entered Cold Spring from the train station. The waitress was very nice. My husband got a beer and enjoyed it after a day of hard work. I loved the steam mussels, the tomato sauce was so delicious. I was surprised that they offer this dish. The wings, steak club sandwich were tasty. The hot chicken sandwich was tasty for my husband but just decent for me. I usually don’t like fried food, but after the difficult hike, I need some more calories to recover. Overall, Cold Spring Depot was a nice place to dine in.

Great spot for a meal while shopping in Cold Spring. Service was great and fast. Good craft beer list. Tuna tatami was delicious. Good shrimp cocktail. Grilled cheese with fries was good. I will go again.

This café, located in an old depot building, is fantastic. Despite being very crowded, the waitstaff were quick and efficient. The food was delicious, and the draft beer was exceptional. The atmosphere was lively and enjoyable. Highly recommend this spot for a great dining experience.

The place has great cold beers. It’s refreshing to visit after the trails. It has become out go to place in cold springs. The staff is attentive, the outdoor seating is lovely especially when the train comes around. Ive sat inside and its really cozy and toasty during the winter. The food is fresh and amazing, they switch up the menu from time to time & I always find myself trying new things & it never disappoints. Highly recommend. —— I just needed to come back and update to continue to RAVE about this place. This year they have really showed up with the menu and variety of plates. I had the Chili like chicken salad and the hummus. Oh my goodness… amazing. Our waiter was attentive despite how busy it was. This place is my top fave.

The food is American-style, delicious, and simple. The bar is fully stocked, with all the drinks you'd want. The fireplace with real wood and the aroma is very atmospheric.

This was a cool find on our way up to Lake George. We had our dog with us and this place is very dog friendly! They provided my girl with a water bowl and she sat outside with us. My son got the pasta, I got the pretzel and chicken wings. Wings were medicore, we got the Anchor Cherry BBQ. Everything else was delicious. My husband got the steak and said it was absolutely delicious. He’s a food snob. Definitely get the warm apple cider!! Be aware, the train is loud so if your dog is sensitive you might not want to come here.

After a long hike to Anthony’s Nose and soaking in the fall views and breeze we were super hungry and ended up at this restaurant. We googled it and this place had the best reviews. Trust us those reviews were genuine since the food here was mouth watering, tasty and in good quantity for the price. Their cocktails were good too. The bread onion soup was delicious and so were the Brussels sprouts. Burgers were filling and came with truffle fries. Overall an amazing outdoor sitting experience. Loved it!

This is a cozy american dine in place, outside seating is good, next to amtrack train track.. food is good, service is excellent. Decent options. Chicken fried sandwhich is great, little expensive though.. kids menu is average.. with just a spagheti and chicken fingers.. watermelon beer was too good. Truffle fries are decent too. Stopped in after a nearby hike. Nice decor, friendly & fast service. Good sandwich overall, but very expensive, even by NY standards. 2 sandwiches & 2 sodas cost $50. Each sub was a footlong with fresh ingredients, but nothing crazy fancy. As others have mentioned, they don’t have their prices posted on their menu so be ready for sticker shock once they ring you up at the register. If their sandwiches were less pricey, we would return in a heartbeat. Until then, likely a one time thing for us.

Everything needs more salt and more sauce. Got the mozzarella app, and the tomato sauce was straight from the fridge and ice cold. Eggplant parm was a very generous size, but actually needs less cheese and eggplant, and more sauce, as it was very dry.

Sandwich was good but overpriced. They also don’t list their prices anywhere. I watched three people walk out without ordering because they do this. Would be a simple fix!

This is a nice place in Cold Spring. I really enjoyed the restaurant environment and their beer selection. However, I am giving it 3 stars for their food. I ordered crispy chicken sandwich and my husband had Truffle burger. Both were very average. Their truffle fries are great though.

Good get away from the crowds, but underwhelming sandwiches. Both the sausage + broccoli raab and eggplant parm were unsalted. Marinara sauce on a soggy roll that turns to mush ain’t it. Ingredients are solid, but flubbed the actual sandwich. Easily fixable, it’ll get better from here.

Let's lower the rating of this place a little, to a more realistic one. Food its not fresh as someone was saying and sandwiches are not as delicious as described in other reviews.

The table we sat at was near the front entrance and very cold. The food was good BUT it was lukewarm. The server never returned to our table to check on us. I ordered a pastrami Reuben. I asked if there was a substitute for the spicy slaw and was told they were too busy to accommodate that. After lunch the bill was placed on our table. We were celebrating my daughter on her birthday ( she passed 5 years ago). I asked for a dessert menu and was told they weren't serving dessert that day. Then the host came over and said we needed to leave because they needed our table. We will not return.

On New Year’s Day, we ordered 2 burgers and everything was burned including the buns, patties and fries! The fries including truffle fries, were very dry and burned, felt like they were refried. They really need quality control, how could the cook let these burned meal out of the kitchen? Server brought us new buns, but we ate the burned patties. We should have asked them to bring new burgers. It was a very bad experince and still have the burned taste in our mouths.

Recently, I returned for an early dinner with friends. I do not know if there has been a change in ownership since my last visit a few years ago. But this experience was terrible. The staff could have cared less if we were there. Zero customer service, zero attentiveness to our table and by far their attitudes was something I couldn’t comprehend. I am still in disbelief this is the same restaurant who used to have kind servers who always made you feel welcomed. Our food was served cold. At this point we all just picked on it and we’re eager to leave. None of us will return again. Obviously, those who run the restaurant could care less or they would ensure their employees have people skills. Very disappointed and will never recommend.
